Customers are impressed with the Arc 4 Nanotech TM Electric Shaver's close shave and skin comfort. They appreciate how it shaves even the toughest of hairs without causing irritation, especially on sensitive areas like the neck. While some customers find the price a bit high, many agree that the long battery life makes it worth the investment. However, a few customers have expressed disappointment about the lack of a charging stand in the newer models.

Best Electric Razor I've Owned

I have used an electric shaver since I started shaving and have used mostly Remingtons over the years. So far this is the best razor I've owned. It charges quickly and holds its charge for several days which makes it great for short business trips. It cuts very well also without causing irritation. Takes a few days for your face to get used to it, but that seems to be the case with any new type of razor.

This shaver replaced my Panasonic ES8103 shaver. The only reason I bought a new shaver was the battery on my old shaver would only last for two and a half shaves. It was a little over 2 years old. From the first shave with my new ES8243A, I was slightly disappointed as the head of the shaver is much wider than my last one and I had difficulty shaving my upper lip. To this day, I'm frustrated everyday when I get to my upper lip and find myself having to press firmly against the bottom of my nose in order to shave my lip.
My second issue is the battery life. I can only get 4 shaves out of a charge. I'm actually considering sending the unit back as I feel like I have a defective battery. Note, my old razor gave me 6 shaves per charge for at least 18 months.
In hindsight, I would not buy this model again.

I've been using Panasonic electric shavers for years. My old one bit the dust, and I decided to get another one. The ARC4 got good reviews, and even though it was pricey, I decided to spring for it. I plugged it in and it charged fully in less than an hour, just as promised. I had a pretty heavy stubble, since my old shaver died this morning when I was trying to shave plus it was growing all day. The ARC4 cut through the heavy growth like it was nothing. The top popped off easily, and was easy to clean. Panasonic recommends just putting a little hand soap on the screen and running in turbo mode.
The only bad thing about this shaver is the fact that it doesn't come with any kind of charging stand, which is surprising. I would think for a top-of-the-line product, they would provide some kind of stand or cradle to keep the shaver upright when not in use. As it is, they just provide a charger, which is a typical adapter plug and cord. So I just leave the shaver laying on the counter when I'm not using it.
My opinion may change about this product as I continue using it, but based on my past experience with Panasonic shavers, I expect to be very satisfied with the ARC4 for years to come. Obviously I can't give a proper rating for Durability after using it once, so I gave a 4.

After doing some homework on electric razors, I came across these reviews. It was the only one (at the time) that had no negative reviews. I usually find reviews hard to follow because you never know who's on the other side of the online review. Anyway, I hadn't used an electric razor in 15 years because they always irriated my face or caused in-grown hairs, etc. So, after years of using a straight razor I figured technology must have advanced to the point where you could buy something that gave a quality electric shave. I found it and these reviews were legit and thanks to those who provided feedback. I don't usually write reviews myself either, but I've been so happy with this thing that i figured it warranted feedback so maybe it could help someone else.
I have a heavy beard and sensitive skin. This thing gives you a very close shave and DOES NOT irritate my skin. I have to go over the bottom of my neck hariline, but no big deal, the upside is well worth it. I hated shaving with my straight razor, I only shaved every other day, now I shave every day, no problem, it's easy. The only reason i rated "durability" a 4 because i've only had this thing for a month. Worth the price!!

Best Electric Shaver I Ever Used

First you should know that I'm Italian, and thus I have thick, dark, heavy facial hair. (That's turning grey!) I've tried many electric shavers -- rotary and foil -- including Braun and Philips-Norelco, and in my experience, I found that electric shavers could not give me a shave as close as a razor. But after trying this shaver just one time, I can honestly say that it shaved as close as a blade on my face. I have never used an electric that worked this well. However, it did not remove all my neck hairs. That is why I am only giving it 4 stars. (It only took a few seconds with a dry razor to clean up my neck, so I'm keeping it.) Other negatives: It's not loud, but it's noisier that some other electrics I tried -- like an expensive Philips-Norelco rotary. And it seems a bit pricey too. I was tempted to buy the Panasonic Model: ES8103S because it has good reviews and was less expensive. But after trying this guy, I'm happy with the purchase and do recommend it. (You should also know that I gave it 4's on quality and durability. But I just bought it, and I think it's premature to rate these qualities.

Best shave for a tough beard

I have a tough beard and very sensitive skin, so a straight razor is out of the question. To get a smooth shave from any top brand electric shaver takes 20 minutes, and the abrasions are a killer, not to mention the red face for most of the day. I have tried all the top brand shavers and was left unsatisfied until using the Panasonic Arc 4. I've never been inspired to comment on any product of any kind like this, but I would like to spare others the hours of surfing online for the perfect shaver. This one actually delivers. I can shave comfortably and even more smoothly in under 8 minutes compared to my previous 20 minute ordeal, and the more I use this shaver, I am pleasantly surprised to notice that each shave is taking still less time after only a few days. My skin is left smooth and comfortable. So far, I've only used this shaver dry. When I'm not rushed in the morning I may try it wet to see if I can lessen my shaving time even more.

Best Electric Razor Ever!

After buying and returning the Norelco Arcitec, I was going to get a Braun. However while shopping I saw the Panasonic Arc4. I really liked the wet/dry option on it, so I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you, even on the first shave it was a dream! They say to give your face 3 weeks to get used to it, but I seriously doubt that will be needed. I shaved one half of my face dry, and the other half with shaving gel on it. Both sides came out as close as a blade! It got all of my hairs, even on my neckline where the Norelco could not get any. I can't attest to the durablity of it, but the shaveability of it is awsome. Save yourself some time. If you have sensitive skin and want a close shave, go with the Panasonic!

I purchased this product because I was tired of spending a good amount of cash on razors. I went to best buy an started out with the $50 Electric Shavers returned that guy the same day. I ended up with this guy a week later and man it's a champ. It takes about 10 min. to fully charge and with everyday use, it can last me a week and a half before it hits the 25% or bellow battery level. Great dry shave with no irritation. The instructions say that you have to use if for a week or two for your skin to get used to the shave but for me it was 2-3 days. I have own this product for about a year and a half now and I have noticed that my shave isn't quite as good anymore. I shave for about 5 minuets or more now trying to get a good close shave. My beard (or the dang patches of what I call my beard) grow in different directions in different areas. When I first got the shaver it was like shaving with a butter knife (easy, no work to it), now I have to really "dig in" with the shaver to get my face and upper neck shaved. When I bought the Shaver it came with a 2 year warranty but, I purchased a Replacement plan from best buy so if I ran to any problems, I wouldn't have to deal with some red tape from the Panasonic or wait 4-6 weeks for a replacement. I will probably get use the replacement plan and get another one. All in all, I still like this shaver, so I will replace it with the same model.

Greatest shave I have ever experienced. This razor is comfortable, shaves the toughest of hairs, and leaves no irritation. It is honestly the smoothest and cleanest shave I have ever gotten and is worth every penny of the 179.99 it costs. The design is comfortable and built to shave the toughest of areas. The charge time is quick and the wet/dry option is great. All around the best razor i have owned, and a must have for anyone serious about a clean shave.

WOW!! I've had nothing but problems with every electric razor I've tried.....until now. I've never had one that got the neck so smooth just after one shave. Can't tell the difference between this and a straight razor shave. No irritation on the neck. Only used it once so far so I can't wait to see how it is after the standard 30 days. Buy this razor--You won't be disappointed!!!!!

I have had one of the 3 blade shavers for 5 years and their blades are faster and cleaner than any others I have had. I went the extra money for the 4 blade system this year and regret it. This does not get in under my neck or under my nose as well as the 3 blade. I have a Braun that I bought before my last shaver and immediately went back to Panasonic for speed. I also had problems with the Braun. The one thing about these newer models is no charging stand

I've now owned this razor for about a year now and overall, I must say it's a great product. Initially I was looking for a foil razor with as little irritation as possible and did my online research and found this razor to have the most praise from other consumers. I have moderate acne and irritation causes me to breakout, this razor significantly reduced the razor burn and irritation I had experienced with a straight blade or a rotary razor. There are some tricky spots however, such as along the neck that may take a few swipes to get but this razor performs very well. It is a bit pricey and when you compare the price to say the Braun series, which have self cleaning capabilities it makes you scratch your head. The cleaning is very easy but at this price point it should be something included. The blade replacements are also a little on the steep side but you can prolong the life of the blades with good maintenance.

I was a bit skeptical about getting another electric razor. I stopped using them after being dissatisfied over and over from known brands with the results of not getting those hairs on the neck. Results of leaving that scruff on the face after several attempts to getting a closer shave. I was definitely tired of the redness too. I recently bought this razor for my brother for a gift during the Holidays. He loved it and could not stop thanking me for it. So I finally gave in and bought one myself. MAN! was that the best shave I've had from an electric razor. Whats better is the wet/dry option. Cant beat that! I really like this product and have recommended it to my co-workers. They also went out and purchased it themselves. I definitely recommend it.

This is a great shaver. I have used Norelco rotary shavers for years but never got the resullts I desired. The package claimed ultra smooth one pass shaving and it was right. This is the only shaver that actually shaves my neck without irritation. Before I had to go over an area many times but this one cuts on the first pass. I also love the wet dry feature because I can use shaving cream to lubricate my face during the shave. There is no pulling of hairs which is a big plus and, like I said, no irritation. I am glad I stepped up and spent the money - it was worth it. It's also a breeze to clean.

I have been shaving for 32 years, using razor and soap. So I was worried about the feel and looks. The first time I tried it, it had about 10% charge out of the box. By the time that I was done it was the best shave I have ever had. Very smooth no bumps no blood just perfect. I have looked at some other electric models and talked to some guys that use electric and they have had bumps and never got a clean shave under the neck. But this razor does it all perfect the first time......

Arc 4 is on top of its game

I bought my Arc 4 within the last week and after the 1st use I threw away every shaver / barber mechanism I owned. This is, by far, the best money I've ever spent on a shaver. After every shave, I just say "wow". It's as close as a straight razor and it doesn't irritate my skin. The wet shave is so easy and the cleaning process is efficient. What's better is that I haven't had any issues with in-grown hairs like usual. It's great and I won't need to buy another shaver -- ever.

Got the Arc 4 today, and used it tonite, and wow, like others have said, i was amazed, it worked great, left my face feeling smooth, and feeling good. Didnt take hardly no time at all to shave. Charges very quickly, very ice LCD screen with charge time, how long its been on, tells you when to clean it-all you need is some liquid hand soap. This is my first electric shaver, i seen the tv ad for this one, and got online read the reviews, which where all good. I would highly Recommend it.
