I HEART this shaver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After having used Braun and Remington shavers for the past 2 decades, this is my first Panasonic shaver, and oh boy, did it surprise me! In a few short words, best shaver I've had, and this coming from a high-end Braun 8995. While it doesn't look as fancy as the Braun (subjective of course), it shaves more comfortably and closely. Best of all, it works in wet too. My only gripe is it doesn't shave while charging.

The fist shave of my life was with a Norelco top of the line shaver, and I used it for about a month until I gave up. I got a lot of irritation and burning from all the circle motions I would use to try and get every hair cut. It simply did not do a good job. So I switched to blades and loved it at first, but I could never shave on a daily basis because my skin was way too sensitive. I would break out after sleeping from the pillow to face contact after a shave if I shaved the night before.
I tried a Braun cheap walmart special $50 foil shaver, and it was a lot better than the Norelco, so I was sold on the foil type shavers over the other kind, but it still did not give me a super close shave which is fine, at least I was not experiencing as much irritation. One day it just stopped working, and I didn't feel it was worth changing the battery on a cheapo shaver. So I went back to blades.
I always had my eye set on the Panasonic, because I liked the WET/DRY idea and finally after getting a $70 reward card from BestBuy I decided I would try another electric shaver, and am I glad I did. The Panasonic has a near blade closeness to the shave, I was amazed, it literally melts the hair away, with no effort. I have a thick beard which grows pretty fast, I have a noticeable shadow at about 6PM every day if I shave in the mornings, thankfully with the Panasonic Nano Wet/Dry shaver I can shave everyday, it gets close enough but not too close so I don't have the sensitive skin reactions I used to have. The charge lasts pretty long, at least a week, but the only thing is it takes about 20% off the total every shave, maybe I shave longer than others. I noticed the when you shave with shaving cream it does a much better job, I would say just as close and smooth as blades, but it does just as good a job in the dry environment.
I highly recommend this unit, it doesn't have self clean, but all you need is some liquid soap and water, its super easy, I would rather do it myself in 2 min than wait for the auto mode do it in 20 min. TRY this shaver, you will be happy, and its a lot cheaper than the Braun 7 Series, which is also a great unit.

Best razor I've ever used

I have been using this razor for a couple of months now and it has not disappointed at all. I was actually very surprised at how well it shaves. I started out shaving with manual razors. I then went through a few electric razors, but they never did that great of a job. I went back to manual razors for a couple of years. Then I found this razor and I am very glad I did.
I usually use it in the shower with my regular shaving gel and it performs flawlessly. I've used it dry, but it doesn't seem to cut as close when dry.
It also holds it's charge for quite a long time. It's also nice that it has the LCD display that shows the charge level so you're not surprised by a dead razor in the morning.
It's easy to clean. You just put a dab of soap on the head and turn on the self-cleaning mode. Rinse it off, and you're good to go for another week or two.

Best electric shave Kiss the blades & cuts goodbye

Tired of cuts I Purchased this due to price and the reviews. Began shaving dry @ the sink. The shave was good but not great. After a few weeks break in (which is recommended by the manufacturer), I tried electric shave lotion. The shave was a little better than the average electric shaver with the lotion. Used it between shaves with a blade due to chin and jaw areas that just never seemed to be able to shave clean with this electric. Decided to give it a go in the shower. I simply wet my face and shaved. This is when I had the best experiance with this shaver, following that I began using it with shaving cream, in the shower by far the best shave ever. Easy to clean rinse with soap on turbo and your done. The shave I get now is better than blades and no cuts much more comfortable and a great shave using the shaving cream and shower method. Not only would I recommend this shaver to a friend I will be buying one for my son in a year or two when he starts shaving. The only problem I will have then will be telling which shaver belongs to me. In this economy this is a great product at a great price.

Amazing!! Say Goodbye to Razors Forever!!!

I've been a razor user for years and have always been skeptical of electric shavers. The last few years I've been using a Gillette Fusion battery powered razor, and thought that I'd found the best shave. Well until the blades wore down after about two weeks, I had. Recently I got sick of shelling out $15 or so every month for a fresh pack of razor heads. I thought i'd give the electric idea another try.
From the first shave I had with this shaver, I was sold. The motor is incredibly powerful, and cut through my stubble and hairs with ease. I found myself with a closer shave than I'd ever had with my Fusion blades. The wet/dry feature is what I bought the shaver for, I like to shave in the shower to save mess and time. It got my cheeks, face and upper lip super smooth with one pass over and a little shaving gel, and it took barely more than one on my neck, even with some closer hairs. Again, just to reiterate, the first shave I got with this shaver was the CLOSEST i've EVER HAD! I didn't even have any redness or irritation like you'd usually have with a new shaver.
Quick cleaning, just squirt some liquid hand soap over the foils, hit the turbo cleaning mode on the shaver, lather it up, and rinse off! Super easy.
You get what you pay for, and anyone questioning the price of this product, don't! It's an awesome shaver that I plan on having for years. Super close shave, closer than a blade, no more expensive disposable razors to buy, wet/dry, pivoting head, great battery life, this razor has it all!
Buy this shaver because once you do, you won't want to use anything else!

Long-time Norelco user here. Decided to use my Best Buy Christmas cards and get a new shaver.
I've been using it for about a month now and have been very impressed. I use it in the shower with some shave gel and have been getting a closer shave than with anything else- even better than a blade. . . except on my neck. For some reason it doesn't perform as well as my Norelco did, but I'm willing to live with that.
Being able to use it in the shower makes cleaning easy- just pop off the screen and hold it under the water. Easy!
I get about 10-12 shaves per charge. The LED indicates 10% increments which makes it nice for me to see just how many days left I have to charge. I travel a lot, so it's nice to know if I should pack the AC cord. Plan ahead, though, because you can't use it when plugged in. Weird.
I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money to get the model with the charging/cleaning unit. It's nice to use, wash, and let it sit in the shower.

I am 23 and tried a cheap Norelco back when I was 15 followed by a $200 Braun free glider at age 16/17. Both were complete garbage and so I stuck with a blade up until now. A year or so ago I was looking at a Braun series 7. It had good reviews and was about $300. Today its about $250 and still has good reviews. However here is why I decided against it.
This Panasonic has equally good reviews and is equal to or at least the runner up to the series 7 in reviews from all over.
Why didn't I go with the 7 series? Bottom line is price.
$250 is nuts. Just take a look at the Best Buy site and look at all the things you could get for that price that are way cooler.
The Braun has a self cleaning cradle that requires little cleaning packs that need to be replaced every month. That adds up to ongoing costs. Biggest thing is what is the point of having the thing clean your razor if you are only going to end up cleaning the cleaner later on anyway??
The Panasonic is water tight so you just add normal hand soap on the top turn it on, it lathers up, and then you rinse it under the faucet. Give it a few good hard shakes to dry it off and you're are done. I have noticed that using just waters seems to suffice pretty well also, but I would say soap and water every two weeks at least is a good idea.
As for the shaving itself, AWESOME! Granted it took me about as much time as a normal razor the first time I used it but this is because I purposely let my beard grow for over a week to give it a good testing. My old Braun and Norelco would ALWAYS leave stubble. This leaves NONE!! Seriously 99% as good as a blade. It takes some getting use to but just leave it in your shower and be sure to use it every morning and you will have a great clean shave every single day. I tried it as a dry shave as well and its equally as good and PAINLESS, no pulling or tugging on hairs. It takes some practice though, depending on what way your hair is growing you might have to go from different angles but after the first couples shaves against longer hairs you will learn what works best for you.
In closing if you are thinking of the model up from this, or anything more expensive it is NOT needed. Unless you really having nothing better to brag about than how expensive your razor is. This product is 10 million times better than the razors made 4-6 years ago. Worth every single penny. Battery life could be a bit better but then again with the performance it gives I am not surprised to see the battery not last as long.
Stop shopping, stop thinking about it, just buy this. You will not be disappointed.

I waited about a month of use with this thing to write a review so I could be completely sure on it, so heres my experience;
I work in the fire service, so a close shave is a must for me. On top of that, whenever I'm not on shift I rarely shave. Regular razors actually cause me pain every time I shave no matter how good or new the blade is, so I decided to try this.
I'll start by saying I have extremely coarse facial hair and I have tried other electric razors with no success. This razor, however, has performed flawlessly. The battery life is awesome, I charge it like once a week. I can shave with it daily if necessary, and it causes no irritation or pain what so ever. This razor also will cut through ~> 4 <~ days of my coarse and thick beard without a problem. I do have a little bit of trouble around my neck/throat area but I had trouble with razors there too so that didn't bother me at all. This razor actually gets closer that my razor did there ever.
The icon that tells you when to clean it is awesome as well, not only that but it's freakin simple to clean too. I fully recommend this to any guy out there who hates shaving as much as I do but has to for their job etc.

Glad I Bought This One !

Bought this for my husband for Christmas after reading the reviews on all the popular brands. I was tossing between the Braun and this Panasonic Nanotech and glad I decided on the Panasonic. He says it is the best shaver he has ever had. The only thing was he didn't feel the dry shave was comfortable (which is the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5) so I got him "Williams Lectric Shave" which is an electric razor pre-shave in a 7oz green bottle, and it made his shaving such an ease. He says this Panasonic is so easy to use and gives him a close shave. He likes the features like the pop-up trimmer and LCD display to make him aware of when he needs to recharge it.
I waited the few months to write this review because I wanted to make sure he was still liking it....and he does.

There are far more expensive shavers out there, but are they really worth the money? This model for me is the best balance of performance and price. It beats my old Braun Activator with ease. Its very quiet and gives a great shave, even on the neck. The foil requires replacing once a year, while the blades require changing every two years. Not bad at all. I have not tried the cleaning part, but was drawn to it as a great alternative to the Braun cartridges. Hand soap and water is all the are needed. The unit will tell you when this is needed, which is not after every shave. Overall, as good as electric gets for me.

I've never actually written a review on Best Buy, but I after reading the reviews for this shaver and then subsequently buying one, I feel compelled to write.
This shaver is fantastic. I was originally going to purchase the Braun 8595, but (surprise...) Best Buy was out of stock. I figured I had 30 days to try this one and return it. I shaved with it that night after charging (about 2 hours) but it was going up against three days of growth. It's performance wasn't too stellar. HOWEVER, the next morning with only about 8 hours of stubble, the shaver was amazing. Smooth and not irritating. I usually have a 4 o'clock shadow and my skin is easily irritated by shaving (red areas around my adam's apple and cheek bone). This shaver has pretty much gotten rid of the redness and I don't have any razor burn later in the day.
I bought an electric because I was tired of paying $27 for 1 1/2 weeks of Fusion blades. This unit has surpassed all of my expectations for a razor. Buy this one, give it a week, and enjoy.

I waited about two weeks before reviewing this. My beard grows fast and thick. I've tried every razor blade and only the expensive ones work for me with less irritation. And my face tears up those blades fast. Shaving was always a long pain.
I read the reviews and decided to try a good electric razor. At first I was disappointed in the lack of a close shave and it seemed time consuming. But then I starting learning how to use this razor. Now I shave in less time than a razor, with a close shave and no irritation.
It's my first electric razor, but I've been learning to get the most of it in a short time. I love this razor and do not plan on using old fashioned razor blades anymore!

I've tried electric razors off and on over the years but they always gave me razor burn. Since the price of blades have gone up so much the last couple of years I was going to bite he bullet and try again. Read the other reviews about not giving razor burn to sensitive skin, so I went out and gave it a try. Guess what, the razor works great and my skin is not burning for the rest of the day. Also the razor is solidly built, a snap to clean, charges fast and holds a charge for a week and the price was great. What's not to like??

I almost went for the Braun at $249, but instead bought Panasonic Nanotech due to the reviews, I was not disappointed.
Smooth shave right out of the box. I did have to go over my neck a couple of times, but I also had to do that when using a blade.
The last electric I owned was a Norelco, but that kept irritating my neck, this razor does not.
The Braun may be nice, but I can rinse the razor myself and save $150!
Use some Williams Electric Shave (or something like it) before you shave for best results.

After using an older model Panasonic wet/dry shaver for 11 years, I thought it was time for an upgrade. The previous model had only a single blade. This shaver does such a great job that I don't need to use a razor for the tougher spots like I used to. It even gives a great shave dry which is something I could never do before. It is comfortable to hold and use and charges quickly. The charge lasts for many shaves and the LCD display is very helpful and cool. The best purchase I have made in a while and it was a great value for the money. I did my homework and it paid off!!

The Panasonic wet/dry razor is my 5th electric in the past 10 years. I have owned Braun, Remington and Norelco and was satisfied with some features and overall performance on each. The Panasonic Nanotech exceeds all the best of each and gives as close a shave as I am able to get with a blade and shaving cream. Best I have owned by far!

This is my second Panasonic Electric Shaver. Replaced a 3 year old Panasonic, similar model with this one. Battery life has been very good in my opinion. If you use it for 3 or 4 minutes, twice a day, you should get 7 or 8 days between charges. Outer construction feels a bit cheaper than my old one though. It does have a strange hum but I'm getting used to it. Instead of spending $120-$150 on a high end razor, find a sale on this one and give it a try.

I had a panasonic shaver for a few years which i was fairly happy with. The battery kept dying, so I bought this new one. It works perfectly. The technology has clearly improved; giving me a close effortless shave. I don't care that it doesn't have the cleaning stand like the older one, since I did not use it anyway. Also when I went away to a conference, I forgot to bring the charging wire, but it kept it's charge for the 5 days I used it at the hotel.

Only had it three weeks now. Charged the batteries when I first bought it-still running on that charge even though I use it every day. Shaves close and quickly, operation is smooth. The motor noise is annoying, but I'm getting used to it. The Remington shaver I replaced with this one never worked this good. Appears to be well made. I think it is an excellent choice.
