This Panasonic Telephone System replaces a very old Uniden cordless + digital answering machine that I've had since college. This Panasonic system was a great choice because the Uniden's battery couldn't hold much of a charge.
I tested this first with my own local phone service. Everything works great. CallerID is nice and large when it comes through the main desktop phone. I was even able to hit the call block button a couple times which dumps the call and adds it to the block number call list. The Call Block features are most welcome. These days the telemarketer calls are getting tricky and numerous. It's satisfying to dump a call on a telemarketer.
I took the set to a friend's house that has Google Voice service through an ObiTalk VOIP adapter. It works there too, but my friend's service doesn't include CallerID therefore the Call Block function doesn't work.
The Panasonic base station with corded handset makes and receives phone calls with ease. Speakerphone works great and is decently loud. Keypad buttons are plenty large for me. The set comes with two cordless handsets with individual chargers. Each of the cordless handsets need to be placed within range of the base station. But I didn't find any places in my house that couldn't be used.
The wireless handsets allow you to connect to Bluetooth headphones. This is Bluetooth connection is only for headphones and not for connecting your handset to be used as a Bluetooth headphone for something like your cell phone. For that kind of functionality, you need a device that supports Link2Cell.
The Bluetooth connection is helpful when you get tired of handling the handset and don't want to use the speakerphone available on all the handsets. It's not something I would use, but I like to know it's there. It can be paired with up to 4 devices. It doesn't automatically use the Bluetooth connection when you first receive a call, instead during mid-call, you need to hit the Bluetooth button on the bottom left of the keypad and select your Bluetooth device. Once connected it works well.
One of the things that I like is that each of the wireless handsets uses AAA style batteries. It comes with rechargeable batteries for the wireless handsets. The Base can also accept AAA style batteries, but it is only for battery backup and should not be used exclusively. But the AAA style batteries means that I'm not tied to some proprietary battery that I can't find after so many years.
The phone system also includes a digital answering machine and I'm glad it's available. I have left the answering machine on the default settings. The system also can operate as an intercom system or a baby monitor. Aside from trying it out, I don't think I will use them regularly.
I'm very impressed with this phone system. It has all the features that I expect nowadays from a landline phone. The Call Block Features are numerous and very much welcome addition. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this phone system to anyone with a landline.

The Panasonic - KX-TGF892B is a full featured, dependable, expandable Corded/Cordless Phone System that will serve you for many years. This system comes with a corded base unit and two cordless handsets that can be placed anywhere in your house or workplace. You can also add up to four more cordless handsets (sold separately) for a total of six.
The Bluetooth pairing works well. You can pair up to four Bluetooth devices, such as earbuds, headphones, or speakers and use them to take calls hands-free. I’ve used it with a Bluetooth Conference speaker several times. Having a Bluetooth speaker is useful for using both hands while talking and to move around while on a call. I also tested with my earbuds, and they also worked well.
The phone follows the TIA-1083 standard for hearing aid compatibility, which means that it reduces noise and interference for people who use hearing aids. This makes the phone more accessible and user-friendly for people with hearing impairments. I know someone with a Panasonic phone system who uses it with hearing aids, and she said it works well for her.
The phone has other features that make it easy to use and manage your calls. The phone has an Automated Call Block that pre-blocks robocalls plus you can push a button to block up to 1,000 unwanted callers that manage to get through. There is talking caller ID that announces the name or number of the caller in English or Spanish. You can also set up a baby monitor function that lets you hear what’s happening in another room.
The phone also comes with a digital answering machine that can store up to 17 minutes of messages. You can check the voice mail message counter on the base unit or remotely from any handset. The phone also has a power back-up function that lets you use it for up to six hours during a power outage.
The phone has a stylish design with a black finish that will work with most any décor. The corded base unit has a large easy to read 3.4-inch LCD screen that displays the date, time, caller ID, and other information. The cordless handsets have a 1.8-inch LCD screen, a comfortable grip and are well balanced. The buttons on all phones are large and easy to read. Overall, I found it easy to use the various features.
The battery life of the cordless handsets is impressive. Panasonic claims that they can last up to 10 hours of talk time when Bluetooth is off and up to seven hours when Bluetooth is on. I managed a bit better with my usage so far on fresh batteries. One feature I really like is that the batteries are standard size rechargeable AA batteries with a batter access door. These batteries are relatively cheap, and replacements can be found easily when they wear out essentially making them ‘new’ again.
The cordless handsets range is excellent. I was able to use them on different floors and in the yard without any issues. The sound quality was clear and consistent throughout.
The phone system is easy to install and set up. You just need to connect the base unit to your phone line and plug it into a power outlet. On the cordless handsets, you just need to insert the batteries and charge them. They are already paired with the base unit. You can customize the date, time, ringtone, volume, language, a
You can also mount the base unit on a wall if you prefer. The phone comes with a wall-mounting adapter that fits most standard wall plates. Ensure your wall mount is secure to the box as it is a bit heavier than wall mount phones I used in the past.
I have been using Panasonic phones for decades now and I have always been satisfied with the quality and performance. They are durable and dependable, even after dropping them numerous times, leaving them out in the sun all day or in the rain. They just keep working.
Overall, I think that the Panasonic KX-TGF892B phone system is an excellent choice for anyone who wishes a feature rich reliable phone system for their home or office.

I have been buying Panasonic cordless phones for almost 35 years and I can say they have always been great. The KX-TGF892B continues that tradition and earns top marks in every category. In review:
Features –
Like almost every top line home phone, the KX-TGF892B has all the features - speaker phone, caller ID, intercom, transfer, Bluetooth etc. However, there are three stand out features – the Automated Call Block, One-Ring Scam Alert and 1-touch Call Block Button. While it is impossible to tell how well these features were working , I can say I did not receive any scam calls. The point is that these features are a comprehensive system to minimize scam calls.
Performance –
In a word – perfect. The sound was loud and clear in the head set and the speaker phone. The screens are large and easy to read. At first, I was not sure I would like a basic black and gray screen since my current Panasonic had a large color screen. It turns out a simpler backlit black and gray screen is better. A minor complaint is the screen, while wider than my older Panasonic (KX-PRLA20, ) it is not as tall. That makes you scroll through more of the data when reading. One the corded handset, the screen is quite large and easily seen from across the room.
An interesting aspect of the Panasonic - KX-TGF892B is the handset is taller by ¾ inch than my Panasonic KX-PRLA20. I know that does not sound like a positive, but it turns out to make difference if the sound quality. The increased height moves the microphone on the receiver closer to your mouth. As a result, the handset seems to pick up less background sound and more of your voice.
Build quality –
The overall design and build quality has not changed much over the years. I’ve only been using the KX-TGF892B for about a week so I can attest to its long term durability but it does feel well built. My prior Panasonic handset’s buttons had a bit better tactile feel but I doubt this will affect the long term durability.
Cons -
The only downside I can see with the KX-TGF892B is the 17-minute recording time for the answering machine. The competition has longer time and I would prefer to have something longer
In conclusion, Panasonic phones are virtually unimprovable and have no discernable flaws. There is really no innovation or stand out features that Panasonic can come up with to improve their phones anymore. Therein lies a problem, Panasonic has an increasing share of a shrinking market with great devices that one day will not have much of a place in the world. I hope that does not lead to Panasonic phones disappearing one day, they are really the best. If I were them, I would concentrate on a merging of technologies of their IP cameras with VOIP/landline phones. Keep up the good job Panasonic

This Panasonic Expandable telephone system is a very nice package for a small business or office. The desk phone has a considerable number of useful features, including an address book, intercom, one touch call blocking, hold, an answering machine, speed dial buttons and hold button. This is the perfect device for functionality without being excessively complicated. The voicemail was very straight forward to set up and recording quality was clear.
The two expandable cordless handsets hold a charge for quite some time the range is impressive. I am able to use the handsets throughout my house with no sound or range issues. I have not noted and static or interference, despite my large number of wireless devices.
The portable handsets have a couple of handy features as well, such as the call block button and the pair button to send audio to a Bluetooth headset. I was able to easily pair with my earbuds and the transfer to the earbuds was immediate with no lag time.
The size of the portable handsets are comfortable and lightweight. Cordless phones have improved over the years and the quality of this setup is excellent. The combination of the corded desk unit and the portability of the two cordless handsets make this a great offering for the home or office.

Great landline setup
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
For the 12 of us that still have a landline, this is a great little setup to ensure you're always within reach of your phone.
I have a VoIP line that I actually still use today. Usually, I have just one handset that is located in my living room since that's usually where I spend most of my time. It's fine but would be nice to have additional units/handsets to place around my house.
Like most people today, I'm working remotely so the need for the occasional call, i.e. an actual phone call, is more commonplace than it was a couple years ago. However, since I'm an IT contractor, I don't usually give out my cell number which is why I have my landline. But having just the one handset can be sometimes irritating since it's sort of inconveniently placed since my office is a bit aways from my living room.
With this handset setup, there is no longer an issue now with accessibility of my phone. I have the handset setup at my office desk. Kind of gives me that "in office" feeling even though I'm at home. The handsets are now in my living room and bedroom.
Sound quality is great and haven't had any issues with that. Usually any DECT 6.0 handset will have clear audio from my experiences and this one is no different. I like the big buttons on both the handset and base station. Very easy to read and press. The included answering machine is also a nice bonus so now I can finally ditch my OG microcassette answering machine....yeah, I still have one of those. All this is digital now so yay! With the handsets, there is a button dedicated button to pair any sort of bluetooth headphones/headset which is a great little feature. I used to have corded headsets for my old phone but now I can use my bluetooth headset when on a call now.
Everything about this is pretty straightforward from setup to operation. Nothing really too technical here so no worries about that. It's just your typical handset phone system with lots of great bonuses and features.

Lots Of Useful Features

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This phone was easy to set up. It comes with the base unit, which is just like a normal landline desk phone/answering machine, and 2 remote handsets. The remote handsets use 2 AAA size rechargeable batteries each, which are included. The handsets are pre-paired with the base unit, so once you put the batteries in them, all that needs to be done is place them and plug in the cradle chargers.
These phones have lots of features, some of which I have used and others that I haven't. My favorite feature, and the reason I got this phone, is call blocking. You do have to have caller ID on your landline to utilize this feature. It has several ways that calls can be blocked. You can turn on auto call blocking, or input numbers you want blocked, or block a call during ringing or after answering (by just pressing the Block Call button) or missed calls from the log. The auto block feature is supposed to block calls identified as robocalls or telemarketing calls, but I haven't used that feature because I'm afraid it might block an automated pharmacy or medical appointment call. I just manually block calls that I don't want and that has been working fine for me.
The handsets can be paired with Bluetooth headphones for hands free calling. It was easy to pair my headphones and take a call, which came in loud and clear. However, it does have a somewhat limited range as when I left the room that had the paired handset, my headphones lost the connection. They did reconnect immediately when I re-entered the room with the paired handset. The user manual says best performance is within 3 meters (10 ft) and up to 10 meters (33 ft) line of sight.
The answering machine function allows for using a prerecorded message or recording your own. You can also 2-way record calls, place calls on Hold and Mute and use speakerphone. Another feature is Answer By Voice Command. When this feature is turned on, Talking Caller ID is also activated so you can hear who is calling before you answer the call.
There is also a Baby Monitor feature which is pretty cool. You can place one handset in a room you want monitored and when sound is detected it calls the other handset or base unit or other stored phone number, however you direct it.
Other features include an Alarm clock that can be set for 3 separate alarms on each handset for either one-time, daily, or weekly alarms; and a Silent Mode that allows for selecting a period of time during which the handset and/or base unit will not ring for outside calls- great for sleeping.
All features can be turned on or off either through the base or handsets or both, depending on the feature. The User Manual walks you through the process for enabling or disabling each feature.
Overall, this phone is like a jack-of-all-trades. I can't think of anything I would want on a phone that it doesn't have. And the build quality of the base and handsets seems pretty good too, they look and feel pretty durable, made of a heavy plastic type material.

I know not too many people use landlines these days but I can’t imagine not having one. Of course, we use our cell phone a lot but I still depend on my landlord and we use it regularly. I’ve been looking to replace our landline with one that also offers cordless handsets. With our growing family, figured it’s more convenient to have one landline phone with additional handsets rather than several landline phones so that we can keep one on all 3 floors. This one comes with the base landline with a corded phone, and an answering machine, with 2 handsets. The instruction booklets say that its expandable and you can purchase additional handsets.
This was so simple to set up and I got it working within minutes. The handsets come with rechargeable batteries that you install and then place the handset in their accompanying chargers and plug them in. For the base phone, I just connect it to the jack and plug it in, set the date and time, record a greeting for the voicemail and it was ready to use. A nice feature is the 2 handsets come prepared to work with the base so no need to set that up.
The caller id in clear, large and easy to see, and it also says out loud who is calling in case you aren’t near it to see it. I love that it offers an intercom so that I reach others on another floor. It’s a good quality phone that offers speakerphone on the base and the handsets. I love the auto robo call block feature. It is really nice! You can also use this with bluetooth headphones, another nice feature that landlines don’t usually offer. Another plus is that if you are on a call, you can transfer it and even do a conference with another handset. You can also store 100 phone numbers you use regularly in the phonebook feature. You can also put your most common 9 phone numbers on speed dial. Definitely would recommend.

Panasonic makes some of the best home phones!

This is my 3rd Panasonic home phone setup and they just keep getting better every time! The only thing this setup doesn't have is the capability to use it when your power goes out like the old school land lines of back in the day. Other than that, this setup seems to have it all and then some!
Out of the box the corded desktop landline has a nice large backlit lcd display with nice big buttons and numbers easy to read especially for those who are older and maybe are farsighted or have vision impairment. It has buttons to cover everything on the base! Voicemail controls, locator (to find the cordless handsets), speakerphone, intercom, a hold button and flash to switch between 2 way calls, and my favorite, the red hot Call Block button for quick one touch call blocking of incoming unwanted spam calls that we all despise so much!
Another one of my favorite features Panasonic offered on my past model is the ability to pair these with your cell phones so you can actually answer your calls on the house handsets. Unfortunately they didn't add this into this model which was disappointing because they made the phone able too be paired with bluetooth hearing peripherals but no longer your cell phones. This set comes with two cordless units but can add up to four more if you have the need for many more.
The phone has excellent clarity and battery life, It looks great and would be a great addition to any household
(bring back the cell phone connect-ability!!) and that would make this a 5 star

Great Phone System With Many Features
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This set comes with an answering system/base phone and two cordless phones with charging bases. The base phone is corded and adds a bit of nostalgia to the old corded phones of the past. The answering system can record up to 17 minutes and you can add your own greeting or choose the prerecorded one. The cordless phones are lightweight and have a 1.5 inch screen and the battery lasts up to 10 hours of talk time before needing a charge.
The base has a speaker phone button for hands free talking. You can punch in the number and hit SP-Phone or vice versa. You can also hit this button to answer a call and be hands free while talking. The base also has 2-way recording. I like this feature because as soon as you activate it, it states “start recording” and can deter an unwanted caller from talking to you.
The handsets unfortunately do not have a speaker phone. You can, however, Bluetooth headphones or a headset for hands free talking. This is a great feature if you work from home and are on the phone quite a bit.
All the phones have the same phonebook. You can add phone numbers of people you talk to. Once you have added these numbers, if a person calls, it will announce the name you added to the number. If you did not add a number to the phonebook it will just state the number calling.
Another feature I like is the telemarketing call block. During an incoming call you can activate this before answering and it will ask the person on the other end to give their name and then you can decide whether to answer the phone or block the number.
Some other features for these phones are a silent mode, which is like Do Not Disturb. The phone will not ring when this is being used. The handsets can be used as a baby monitor. You can block up to 1,000 numbers that you don’t want calling you anymore also.
In all, I really like these phones. My only disappointment is that the handsets do not have speakerphone on them. However, since you can Bluetooth a headset to them, it is a minor disappointment. The user guide has other features that you might find useful also.

It’s a tad confusing as you attempt to set up options. Plus, to increase rings the phone company is involved. Who knew? Invasive if you ask me. We like the display screen elevated. Our old Uniden lasted seven years and we’re hoping the Panasonic lasts as long. It would be nice if the cordless had a blinking light to let you know there are messages rather than walking to the main landline to see the messages. So far it works well and the buttons are easy to push. We are using a Bluetooth headset since our Uniden had jacks on the cordless phones. The menu options could be better designed, but so far it’s good.

Though most households no longer have a landline (over 70% use a mobile phone only), those that do sometimes need a new phone. And if you’re one of them, the Panasonic KX-TGF892B is an excellent choice. It’s easy to set up, simple to use, and has excellent features for today’s needs.
First, the setup is quick. Plug in the power and telephone line, enter the correct date/time and you’re ready to start talking. Only a toaster would be easier. Note: set up the base first, then the cordless handsets. The handsets automatically look for and register themselves to the base.
From there, you can add up to 100 names in the phonebook. Contacts can be assigned into one of two groups, say for family versus friends. That makes it easier to retrieve contacts without having to go through the entire list. You can even assign each group a different ringtone (I wish Panasonic allowed a silent ringtone for one of the groups; that way it only rings if a family member is calling, for example).
The outstanding feature of this phone is its ability to tackle spam calls. The phone offers many ways to do this:
- Block specific phone numbers
- Block a range of phone numbers
- Block calls that are anonymous or don’t show their number
If that’s not enough, you can use the Automated Call Block feature which is basically a way of whitelisting which calls get through. With this feature, anyone in your phonebook can call you as usual. But if a call comes from someone who isn’t in your phonebook, they are prompted for an access code (from 1 to 3 digits). Upon entering the correct access code, their number is stored in an allowed caller list (100 entries max) so they don’t have to enter it next time. Otherwise they are automatically blocked. One caveat is there are likely to be calls you want to pick up but don’t know their number: repair shops, doctors, banks, community and utility messages, etc… Many of these are automated calls so you’re likely to miss a few until you move them from the blocked to the allowed list.
Another nice feature is the ability to record calls. If you’re in a situation when that would be handy, just press the Record button on the base or the appropriate menu item on the handset. The unit announces to both parties that it’s recording the call.
And among the many other features, the other useful one is the ability to pair an external headset or speaker via Bluetooth. The box comes with an ad insert for Bluetooth earbuds. The insert shows some beautiful people joyfully talking through their earbuds while doing everyday household activities. Now you can be one of those happy folks as well.
In all seriousness, this is a solid telephone set if you’re in the market.

Each handset hashand-free pairing, accomplished via a dedicated “Bluetooth”, “PAIR (withHeadset Logo)” button. Pairing of up toat least 4 headsets per handset if needed. This unit comes with your main unit and two additional handsets, can beexpanded up to an additional 4 handsets for a total of 6 handsets plus main basestation. Setup is a easy as plugging inthe base station, set the date/time, and when the 2 cordless handsets arepowered on, they will automatically be set and connected. The automated caller blocking for SPAM callsworks wonderfully. Overall build ofeverything seems of quality that will last like similar Panasonic products.

The Panasonic - KX-TGF892B DECT is a great phone system. Being LEO and a realtor, having a landline may seem outidated, but you can (with the right provider) set multiple options for vmail, certain call's forwarded and other options. This phone system is a great option for my specific needs.
From un-pack to set up was 5 minutes at the most. Plug in handset, connect phone line, plug base in to outlet and the system is ready to pair the 2 chordless DECT handsets. For those, simply remoce back battery panel, insert 2 included batteries, plug in base and you are ready to go.
One nice feature with this sysytem is it's DECT {Digitally Enhanced Chordless Telecommunications} that operates at 1900 MHz. The advantage? It's a much less saturated frequency than any 802.11xx frequency. This is good for both your telephony needs and it leads to less interference for your WiFi network.
Another great feature (at least for me) is the Bluetooth built in. You can pair a Bluetooth headset and have one point of voice as you may need to get up and look for documents etcetera.
End of the day, it's a great choice IF you have the need.
