Wanted a large, basic tv w/o lots of pricey bells & whistles for a bedroom wall. WOW - my expectations were greatly exceeded. Picure quality is outstanding for 720p- don't miss 1080 res at all. At it's low price point, it even includes internet connectivity. What it's missing are higher screen res (no big deal for my needs), and gobs of HDMI inputs (2 work perfectly for me). Also own 2 hi end Pannasonic 55" plasmas -- all are fantastic!!

I absolutely love this TV! The picture quality is excellent as well as the color. And for the price of the tv, you can't beat it! I was skeptical at first of getting a plasma, but after comparing them to the other TVs in the store and getting some more info on them from one of the store associates, it was definitely the best! The speakers are in the back of the tv so the sound could be a little better, but it's not too bad for an apartment. For a house, you might want to get speakers, but it works just fine for my apartment.

Bought TV on sale 449, great price, good picture out of box, easy to set-up. 50" size just right, not to big, not to small. Good with action and off axis viewing. you wont be disappointed with plasma.

My mother's 12 year old Panasonic HD wide-screen projection TV started acting goofy--the picture was ghosting and it looked like you were watching 3-D without the 3-D glasses. She really liked that TV and I wanted to save the set so I called up a local TV repair place and the guy told me it wasn't worth fixing so I figured it was time to head back to Best Buy (BB). There is a much wider selection of HDTVs nowadays than there was 12 years ago but I'm a big Panasonic fan and I buy Panasonic stuff whenever I can so I wanted to stick with that brand. Even the Sony rep at BB couldn't convince me to look at Sony's but she was still friendly. The Panasonic wall at BB was pretty much picked clean which should give you an idea as to how many people prefer this brand but BB had plenty of other brands in stock which I didn't want and some I've never even heard of. A friend of mine buys Samsung TVs but his only last about 5 years before they go on the fritz. Somebody told him that nowadays TVs are built to last only 5 years. I don't know if this Panasonic will last 12 years like the last one did but if we get 10 years out of it I'll be happy. This set was rated only about 61 by a leading consumer magazine that I subscribe to which shall remain nameless (wink, wink) but I didn't want to spend over $1,000 either. This set came in at about $600 which was a great price and the picture looks just as good to me as the ones on those more expensive sets. This set is plasma which has the reflective screen but I already knew that so I just close the blinds. The sound is good to me so I don't need a sound bar. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles like some TVs but I'd say that this is an all around good TV at a good price. You might have a hard time finding it though. Not everybody carries Panasonic (I don't understand that) and those that do were already sold out of this model. The BB delivery guys set it up and the dish network remote worked right away without having to synch or calibrate it or whatever you sometimes have to do to make a different remote talk to a TV.

great picture and sound...awesome value! I had to buy a television when my old when broke.......I wish I wouldn't have waited so long....I was against plasma until I talked to the salesman, I'm glad I did.

This TV is my 3rd Panasonic plasma. Plasma still has the most natural picture and the current TVs are as good as any. I own a 50" Panasonic 1080P as well as this and another 46" Panasonic 720P. When watching Bluray and Hi-def media the picture is almost indistinguishable from the 1080P sets. The price on this makes it a great deal for a second TV or even for a primary set, if you don't want to spend a few hundred more dollars. For anyone that would complain about the sound quality of any flat-screen television - the physics don't support good sound. Invest in a high-quality stereo or surround sound set-up that meets your auditory and budgetary needs. I use this as a second set, but it is in my den and I have it hooked up to the cable box and a bluray player. It isn't the best picture I have seen, but it can't be beat for the money. If you want you can spend 2-5k on a nicer, bigger set. But if you love plasmas, you better get one while you can.

I was looking for a 50" plasma for my sportsbar and this Panasonic was perfect for my needs. The picture quality was great and I didn't all of the other bells and whistles. The Best Buy price could not be beat and I will probably pick up two more of them.

I bought this TV for my Mom. Her old TV went out and I jumped at the chance to bring her into the 21st Century. She went from a 27 inch standard TV to a 51 inch Panasonic Viera HDTV. The price was awesome and so is the TV.

I love my new tv I feel like I'm at the movies. The picture quality is great, love the colors, easy to set up. Light weight and classy style. Great price, love my new TV.

If you cant tell the difference between 720 and 1080 this is a great value. You Just want a good quality tv not a computer this is an outstanding value .

Excellent Tv for the Money! It's not a smart tv but with a Sony Blue Ray player it becomes one. The picture rivals much more expensive flat screens.

Great tv for the price. Run it for 15 hrs a day in a commercial application with no issues. Can't go wrong with this unit.

Good picture. Color tends toward green. Sound needs to be supplemented by a sound bar or sound system. Very reflective screen. Should be used at night or in a dark room. We use this TV in the bedroom mainly at night so it works for us. It has a large screen for the money, and the picture is very good. On the other hand, at this size it might be better to buy a TV with 1080p resolution. I like the depth of color and contrast provided by the plasma.

The tv is a good value for the cost. Overall the quality, sound and features are good.

Purchased 3 if these to hang in different church classrooms. Great picture good sound. I only needed 1 Hdmi hookup for a blueray DVD player I installed on each- you don't need a smart tv to get internet content, save your money and buy the wireless internet blueray- you will save hundreds! Works great! The remote is very user friendly

I know, I know, it's 720p and not 1080. But, I personally do not think the picture quality could get any better than it already is. I tweaked a few factory settings, connected a Sony Digital Video Player from my previous TV (to stream movies) and connected an HDMI Switch to increase the HDMI from 2 to 5 allowing me to hook up Cable box, DVD player, etc. We are uber pleased with this Panasonic Plasma TV.

I would purchase again. Picture is great. Easy hook up to other equipment.
