Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the visually appealing design, especially the Pikachu character, and the extended length of the controller's cable. The controller's design and overall feel are also praised for providing a comfortable gaming experience. However, some users have expressed concerns about the joystick occasionally detaching during gameplay, and the fact that the controller is wired, which may not suit everyone's preferences.

    Best 3rd Party Gamecube Controller

I got this controller today and had a few hours to test in in Smash Ultimate among other games. Let me tell you, for $25, this is the best controller I've owned. It is slightly larger than the official Nintendo GC controller, but it isn't too big to feel uncomfortable. It has a nice soft touch like plastic on the front that makes it nice to hold and the removable C stick to replace with a regular thumbstick is a great feature. The ZL and ZR buttons are the best feeling buttons I've ever used. It has a soft responsive feel like that of the official pro controller, but they are much larger and more comfortable to rest your fingers on. They have a perfect travel distance for digital buttons. The face buttons are a little clickier and have a little more travel than the official GC controller, but unless you have one right next to it, then you won't even notice a difference. The cable is also really long, I think around 8 or 10 ft, and it has a really nice and sturdy feeling USB connector with a bump so you know which side is facing up. This controller functions just like the pro controller but in a GameCube controller shell. It has all of the extra buttons +, -, Home, and Capture, as well as a second shoulder button. It also has clickable thumb sticks. Oh, and I can't forget about the tiny D-pad. It's super small, which I wish were the same size as the Power A D-pad is, but in terms of feel, I much prefer this one. It's not as soft and squishy as the Power A, and doesn't have too much travel. This controller is also usable on PC, just to put that out there for anyone wondering. I haven't tried it out on my Dolphin Emulator, but I plan to do that in the future. The lack of analog function in the triggers is easily made up with the extra buttons, like the second shoulder button. That makes it possible to map the controller in a way that lets Mario run and spray water at the same time in Super Mario Sunshine. My only gripe with this controller is that it feels hollow because of how thin the plastic shell is. It's by no means feather light, and it's super sturdy, but it just doesn't have a great heft to it like I like in a controller. It doesn't feel like the original in the hand, but it makes so many improvements in the original design that a lot of 3rd party manufacturers are failing to do. There are plenty of things wrong with the original controller and PDP did a good job making it better than before.

I always did prefer gamecube controllers over the joycon controllers, especially for games like Smash Ultimate. I love the design and the feel of the controller. The only issue is that the part for the joystick can detach while you're playing.

I did a fair amount of research on each Gamecube styled controller before landing on this one. This one is wired, could be a plus or minus depending on your preference...less input lag was key for me. It will is very well made for the price point. I like how you can switch out the classic yellow-c stick for a more modern joystick...game changer. There is something about the Gamecube layout that is just right for playing Super Smash Bros. I would definitely recommend this controller if you want a much easier time playing and even more so if you want to be competitive. Another major advantage to this controller compared to the original Gamecube controller is that it will work across all other games (don't quote me but I believe that's the case)...plus, it has the +/- buttons, as well as the Home button which is a lot more convenient than having to walk to your system or using another controller to navigate through menus/turn off the system.

It works great! It's fairly cheap. The cable is really long. It has a nice matte finish. It's a tad bit bulky, but it isn't really noticeable, even if you've got smaller hands. I've been able to play all my Switch games with it (it inputs just like a Pro controller) and I haven't touched the JoyCons since buying it.

I'I used this controller for playing SSBU and Mario Kart deluxe on the switch. This controller works very well with both games! I haven't experienced any stick drifting, and all inputs are responsive. The triggers don't feel springy like the OEM Gamecube controller, they are more of a button feel. However, it's really comfortable and I prefer it much more. The c stick is interchangeable with the regular sized analog stick, or the default c stick style, which is a nice touch.

Easily navigate your switch and easily play any of your games. Is it as good as your standard GC controller for Smash for example... no. But it does the job and does it well. And at an amazing price as well

This is not quite a GameCube controller. It's close enough for most players, unless you are a hardcore melee player. I've used it a decent amount to play Smash Ultimate and it's a nice upgrade from a 15 year old GameCube controller that has seen better days. I have also used it to play games like Chrono Trigger on PC and it works great. The one downside to it would be the shoulder buttons. They stick out a little far on the sides and are easy to press on accident if you are used to the original GameCube controller.

This is your typical GC third party controller. It has some good changes. better c-stick and better shoulder butons. It has changable c-sticks based on your preferences and is updated well to work with the switch. This is the model suited to your household zelda-fanatic.

While the actual quality itself may seem slightly off, the actual functioning of the controller is solid! Being a wired connection that is USB and the obvious constraints, the cord length is long enough to be away from the Switch Dock.

My large hands had such trouble playing smash on a normal game cube controller. This larger style had noticeably improved my control and looks great.

Great controller for gamers who want to play on the Switch but love the Game Cube controls. Cord is plenty long so no need to spend the extra money on a cordless.
