Great Headphones for the Quality & Price

When I first saw these headphone, they stuck out to me due to the lower price for the quality. Plus, I like the style: they are stylish but not overdone (like beats for example). I knew I wanted an effective pair of headphones not just a fashion piece.
Once I put these headphones on, I knew they were my first choice immediately. The overwhelming comfort and deep, rich sound was exactly what I was looking for.
These headphones are more comfortable and sound much fuller than many of the other phones I tested. I truly do recommend these headphones to everyone I know.

The stretch headphones have great sound, especially the acoustics and electric guitar. Bass is great for any style except for rap and hip hop, but I would still say it is good and not bad at all. If most of what you listen to is rap and hip hop you will probably still like these for the price, but they don't quite have the bass a more expensive pair do like Beats or Bose. Watching tv and movies are awesome as well with phenomenal sound effects. Its basically like having surround sound built into a pair of headphones. They stretch very well as advertised so they are very durable and the shoe string-like cord which almost never gets knotted is great and innovative as well. It may occasionally get twisted around a tad but all you have to do is twist the cord in the other direction and it unravels very easily. You'll have to do a lot of twisting to get it really straightened out when you first take them out of the package, but after that you won't have hardly any problems. The soft cushions are very comfortable and fit completely over your ear which makes for great sound and noise isolation as well. They're not noise-cancelling but are pretty close to it. There has to be something really loud to even come close to breaking through the headphones where you would be able to hear it. Overall, these are great headphones that I love a lot and am extremely glad I got them. The only problem you may run into is a little crackling noise in certain songs, but it only happens during a low quality song or mp3, so its not a big issue at all. If you have any mp3s that are of low quality you may try and find a better quality mp3, but I would say that about 90-95% of your songs will sound phenomenal. They are very affordable and in my opinion the best valued headphones there is when you consider the quality you're getting for the price your paying. These are definitely worth at least $100 and you won't come close to paying that at Best Buy. If you are looking for a great pair of headphones that won't break the bank, get these immediately and you will not regret it.

I've owned this headphone for about a month now. I really enjoy it. When I was shopping for headphones I tried on many. I am not a finicky audiophile, but I did look at some high end Sennheisers and Dre Beats. I wanted something with a smooth midrange, as I listen to a variety of music as well as audiobooks and news radio. I also like to listen for quite a while when I have them on, and use them while working in my woodshop (which helps drown out the noise from power tools -- and yes, I'm very careful to wear the cord inside my shirt so it doesn't get caught in the tool).
So far I'm pleased with the sound quality, and VERY pleased with the comfort. Of all the headphones I tried on, I thought the Skull Candy Aviators were the most comfortable for my head, and I liked their style the best, but at twice the price I figured I'd give these a shot. I'm glad I did. I think the durability is probably greater as they have a stretch headband which is comfortable, lightweight, and flexible. The cord also is a nice feature that the Aviators didn't have: while both have nylon instead of plastic around the wire (greatly reducing kinking and coil/tangle problems), the Philips detach near the headphones. I'm clumbsy and each pair of headphones I've ruined in the past occurred because the cord got caught on something as I stood up and it loosened the wire at the device or the headphone.
Lastly, they're sound reducing, not noise reducing. This means that there is no electronic noise reduction, just that the headphones wrap snugly around your ear and block sound out. For that, they do a pretty good job. I bought some serious noise reducing headphones (for working with my powersaw, and shooting guns) from Lowe's that were rated at -30db. They worked GREAT, but created a vacuum around my ears and were very uncomfortable. I've run my table saw with the Philips headphones on and it helps quite a bit (maybe -15db??). Plus, they're 100% more comfortable than the hardware pair from the home supply store.
So all in all:
* Great fit / comfort
* Good sound quality
* Good durability
* Detachable cord
* Good price (I paid $80)
* Decent (not great) noise reduction

I recently purchased these and could not be happier. I have owned a pair of Sony MDR-XB500 which were also fantastic but recently broke because of their lack of durability. These on the other hand seem like they cant be broken. I am an avid traveler and these are durable, flexible and comfortable. Not to mention the sound is great. The only issue I had was the depth of the headphones but that was fixed when I raised the treble of my equalizer. These headphones are also non-adjustable so if you have an odd shaped head you should try them on first. The price is an absolute steal and I would recommend these to anyone.

Sound, comfort and durability. I have read complaints about the sound and comfort of these headphones, but it is hard to imagine what they were being compared to or what the critics had in mind as better. Upon seeing them I thought they might be flimsy, but I have accidentally knocked them off a three foot table and they took the impact without damage. The sound has excellent bass reproduction for the money. The only thing I wish the product had was an inline volume control. But as I knew that they didn't when I bought them I can not hold it against the product. Volume is not an issue with them. And the way they cover the ears they do an adequate job of blocking external noise.

Those headphones have alot of bass. I use them with a PSP 3000, a 5.1 Logitech X540, and several computers. The amount of bass it has is like having your ear next to a subwoofer! Plus they fit all sizes and they are very durabile. I tried twisting them, putting them under presser (in tight bag), and bending them. They while not break very easily. Yes it is expensive but they are great! When you put them on and listen to music, its like you're there in the recording studio. Also one more thing- When listening to music, and you talk, you will not hear yourself talk much. These headphones drown out any backround nosie due to being sound isolated headphones. If you want serious bass, and no backround noise, get these. Sound isolated means they drown out backround nosie physically while not even messing with the audio feed, so in return, they produce higher quility audio then most headphones with noise cancelation. Also it has a detachable cord. There are very comfertable too.

the noise in the office to be reduced as much as it was. Not sure if its because I have a bald head. Just putting the headphones on I can tell its reduced the level of noise in the office. Bought these to block out co-workers, so I can concentrate on my work. Doesn't interfere with my glasses. My Bose 2, started having an issue after 3yrs. I didn't want to pay for another $300 pair, so thought I'd try these and the sony noise cancelling buds. Took the ear buds back. These, I'm keeping. Take your cell phone if it has music on it and try out at the store. I'm only going to use these in the office. I guess if I traveled a lot I might purchase the Bose 15, but I don't. If I did, I would get the BB warranty for 4 yrs.
The Head phones, there is a bit of plastic sound while positioning, once their placed on and I'm working at my PC, pure bliss. I can also turn the volume down.
I have an expansion cable that I use to go to my I-pod, Mini-disk, zune.
Durability noted as good, since this is still new. It is flexible, but not going to see how far, don't want to chance breaking them, cable is a bit glitzy, with the gold. I can over look that, since I wasn't expecting so much outside noise is reduced. I really can listen to an enjoy the music I have playing. For the price, very pleased. My sister has the Dr. Beats Pro, tried her's and was impressed, but @ $80. compared to $300. This is perfect. My coworker that sits next to me doesn't hear what's playing. So no complaining.
I've recommended this already to people at work.

Best headphones I've tried for <$150

I'm not an audio engineer, but I do have an electrical engineering degree and am involved in professional audio products for broadcast markets, so I do understand what separates a decent sounding set of headphones from a great set.
Before deciding to purchase these Philips O'Neil Stretch headphones, I looked at many sets from other manufacturers. The Philips headphones were late entries into the models I was looking at - I stumbled onto them on the Best Buy web site and the reviews seemed to indicate they were worthy of consideration. Other than these, I was looking at SONYXB-700, the Panasonic HC720 and several Senheiser models. All of these are under $150, which is the maximum I was willing to pay. My goal was to find an <$100 set that sounded better to me than sets costing much more than $100.
I evaluated these headphones under the following criteria, which are the most important to me, in order:
1. Around-the-ear fit and comfort
2. Balanced (firm, punchy bass, good realistic mid and high range) sound delivery for the type of music I list to most (Alternative / Rock, Jazz)
3. Fit on my head
4. Durability as I will be using these a lot in the office, at home, and on business trips
Luckily for me, my local Best Buy store had these headphones, and several others I was curious about connected to an in- store display with the ability to quickly compare various genres of music on each set.
I'll cover my criteria in turn:
Fit / Comfort: Around-the-ear fit and comfort of these is amazing. At the Best Buy display, one thing that stood out was the different fit among the different sets. All the other headphones used an adjustable strap for fit. This is the traditional method of adjustment, and frankly, it has always been a bit of a pain to attain a good fit every time I put the headphones on. The Philips O'Neil Stretch headphones, however, use a clever means of a strap that sits on the top of your head, and as that is snugged lightly down onto the head, and the ear cups positioned around the ears, the headphones just magically mold themselves into a firm, but very comfortable fit ib all areas. I thought they felt great in the store, but now that I have been using these headphones for a week, they are honestly the most comfortable headphones I've ever experienced. Also, they fit perfectly every time, there is no fighting with adjustment clips on each side, with one always being higher or lower than the other. The cushions fit around my ears perfectly and don't become uncomfortable with extended use.
Sound Quality: This is probably equal to my number 1 criteria above. All I can say is - these sounded the best to me of all the headphones on display that were under $150. In my opinion, they sounded just as good as the Bose Clear Comfort headphones that were also at a different store display. The bass is solid and tight, mids are clear, and highs are crisp. I listen to a lot of alternative music with a broad range, and these headphones handle everything just fine. Several reviewers mentioned flat sound. I believe this is because there is some kind of an issue with their device being out-of- phase, which is a connection issue. I have had this happen on my Android tablet, and have solved it with a cable adapter. Search for "9in23cmeaexc" on Google to find more information on these.
Sound isolation of these is really good, almost equal to noise cancelling, without the decrease in sound quality. Also sound leakage is minimal, which was also important to me.
Durability: I have had these for about two months and after much use at work, there is no noticeable wear at all. They are made to handle the rigors of snowboarding, apparently, and although I am not a snowboarder, this is probably going to help them to endure whatever abuse I dish out. I love the stretch cable design as it does not tangle and seems very durable.
The only downside I see to these is lack of a protective case. I am using a binocular case which fits these well, but I would have gladly paid $10 more if these came with a custom fit protective case.
Bottom line - I have found these to be one of the best value purchases I have made, and definitely the best sounding and fitting headphones I have ever owned.
Kudos to Best Buy for having many models available for in-store comparison of sound and fit quality.

Solid for the Money!

I am the type of consumer who wants the most value for their money. I was actually considering purchasing some Beats by Dre headphones at the time I purchased these, and I am happy I saved the $150.00 bucks.
These headphones, once you have burned them in, are very solid for the price. I bought these on sale for $69.99. Right out of the package, I admit, the sound levels are not extremely rich or loud, however, after getting 15 - 20 hours of usage into them, I have to say, these have outstanding sound quality for the price. The bass is deep but not overpowering. The highs are very clear. I use them primarily with my HP with Beats by Dre built in, and after some tweaking, they are awesome with movies and music. I also use them with my Ipod Touch that has an equalizer App installed, and I feel they more than do the job.
Are the Beats by Dre headphones probably a little more crisp and have a little more power handling, yes. However, look at this logically. How ofter are you going to be listening at max levels in a studio? Unless you have a goal to be deaf, practically never. At "normal" listening levels, I barely notice any differences with bass or the high end sounds compared to the $250.00 pair of Beats by Dre headphones of my friends.
Summary of my review, if you are an absolute die hard music person or a person that is not like the rest of us normal people and has $250.00 bucks they are dying to burn, get the Beats by Dre. If you want a good set of headphones that is more than worth the money, get these.

I looked everywhere for great headphones and priced it out for weeks. Tried them on, listened to the same tracks and of course price checked.
Tried Skullcandy, Beats by Dre & other name brands and although the Skullcandy looked awesome, they were not as comfortable and did not have the range these did! These don't hit the lowest of notes, but you'll get a good thump and hear the "sparkles" on the high chimed notes! They also do a great job (8/10) of noise reduction/cancellation while in flight.
The only downside is they don't have the volume buttons on the cord, HOWEVER, you can still have a conversation on your phone with the headphones on, just keep the phone close to your face when speaking to have a comfortable and quality phone call.
I have traveled at least 8 segments since I bought these a month ago and they have held up, they were ON SALE at Best BUY for $50 (norm $80).
If you want a durable, quality, reasonable, great sounding and lasting set of headphones, these are the ones for you.

I just picked these up from Best Buy a few days ago, after my Sony noise cancelling headphones stopped working. I got my $150 back on those and spend only half of it on these headphones.
These headphones are great! I would definitely say they are just as good or even better than the Studio Beats By Dre. I normally listen to hip-hop, and the bass is great in these headphones. Everything is very clear.
These are also probably the most comfortable pair of headphones I've ever owned. The ear cushions are soft, and allows you to wear them for long periods of time (I've had mine on for 3 hours without any irritation) and I plan to take them on the plane with me on spring break.
Overall, these headphones are a great pick no matter what you compare them to. They are better then my old $150 Sony's or any Beats By Dre in my opinion. And the price is outstanding compared to what you would normally spend on a good pair of headphones. I would definitely recommend these.

I wear headphones for hours at a time working late nights and these headphones never get uncomfortable, like almost all other headphones do after a few hours. The sound quality is incredible. I use the headphones for watching movies and listening to music, and I always feel like I am IN the music/movie. They do a pretty good job with noise cancelling, but if you don't have the volume up very loud, you can hear some outside noise (which I like in case there is a knock on the door or something). I bought these on sale, but even at full price they are worth the money. Also, the special cord is awesome. I never have to mess with untangling it, it is always just how I left it. And since it can detach a few inches from the headphones, if I accidentally pull on the cord, I don't end up yanking the phones off my head, or hurting my ears, the cord just separates. Overall a wonderful product!

So here is the story:
I bought the Red pair of these headphones about half a year ago, and mistakenly BROKE the headband by...well...STRETCHING them a little too much. Today, however, I decided to buy them because its the day after BF and for $39, it should be a steal because i LOVED my old ones. Well...i was right. I don't know if it is a new SKU, but they OUTPERFORMED my old ones! The Highs, Mids, and Lows were all up to par, and the bass...bass, bass, bass. Let me just say, believe it or not, BUT IT ACTUALLY HURTS! Not in a complaining way and not that it drowns out the rest of the music, BUT ITS FANTASTIC! Probably BETTER than the "Critically Acclaimed" Beats by Dr. DUFUS. I mean, CMON! 500 BUCKS??? YAH GOTS 2 BE KIDDING! And comfort, lets not forget that. VERY COMFORTABLE. PERIOD. Self-Adjusting headband? Yes. Super-Comfortable Cushions? Sure. Durable? By GOD yes. One word: TR55LX. Look it up. Amazing stuff it is. Bottom line: Just get 'em. They are even worth the original $80. I would've even bought them at that price! Just try them, you WILL NOT be disappointed.

I bought these headphones about a month ago for a nice price of 45 dollars. I must admit they are worth much more than that.
The sound quality is rich and great on all side. I'm a metal lover and listen to lots of metal. I really wish there as more bass, as I'm a freak about having that punch in my ears, but I changed the EQ on my ipod to a bass booster and it's amazing.
It could also be louder, but that's what metalheads say about all headphones.
These are indestructible. They have been sat on three times (we aren't a heavy family, but still) and they show no signs of damage.
They are very comfortable as well (don't wear earrings with them though) and I do exercise feverishly in them. They stay on well though they aren't tight. The stretch changes to meet the size of your head.
When exercising, you really have to turn it up all the way which is my one complaint.
I have never tried different over the ear headphones, but these rock better than the on-the-ear ones.
I totally recommend these. I spent four days researching all sorts of headphones, both over-the-ear and on-the-ear headphones, and finally bought these.
As for noise-cancelling, I don't listen to anything slow. I can never hear anything anyways with my music, but with no music on everything is REALLY muffled. I don't think you could hear anything while playing music.
I do think other people around me can hear my music, but again I play my metal all the way up.
BUY THESE NOW.

Amazing headphones for what you pay

Okay these headphones are definitely an amazing value. With these headphones you really get more than what you pay for on many aspects.
The sound quality is great and when it comes to some of the important things of sound like bass they really can hold their own. But the bass doesn't over power the mids and highs but the bass is still really deep. I have had these a while now and I listen to pretty bass heavy music and usually the headphones may get that annoying rattle in them but I have yet to hear any rattling come out of these headphones.
On to durability. These are really durable headphones you could bend these things in every which direction and they will not break but don't push it because everything has their limits. Also well lets face it we have all dropped a pair of headphones at least once and sometimes one time is all it takes but actually it was my brother knocked them off my desk and they still do extremely well.
Now to comfort, with these headphones the comfort is superior to many pairs of headphones that I have owned there have been many times when I have worn these for hours on end and I have never experienced that kind of numbing ear pain that you may get with other headphones and the deep cup of the headphones makes your ears not touch any plastic of them so that is another plus and well I have sort of big ears so ha, that's going to probably say a lot about comfort.
And last, The headphones aren't listed to be noise canceling but they are darn close to it. I can't hear anything in the outside world when I have these on.

From the moment I put these headphone over my head and hears they fit great and feel very comfortable. They ear pads block out sound from your environment while the speakers deliver the high quality range of sound that I wanted. The bass is rich while the mid range and highs come through clear and crisp. I highly recommend that you give these a try yourself. The fit is amazing and the sound is excellent. The no tangle cord is a nice bonus.

The only reason I give them a 4 on the value for price is because they are still 80 bucks but too me that is completely worth it! The bass and treble balance on these headphones are great and they don't fizzle out even if they are cranked up. I will say this, being that they are stretch they are made with primarily plastic. However, they are extremely durable( don't go prove me wrong I mean everything has a break point). That is my only knock but I mean it is a part of the product. The look is awesome with touches of gold around the cord and headphones. Another cool thing about the cord is it is not a typical cord it is made with a more durable cloth-like material to keep from stripping as well as a detachable cord so if pulled on wont hurt them. I really am in love with the headphones and I hope they last a while. I did put the warranty on it because it wasnt too much more money and it covers 2 years. Anyways I hope this was helpful.

Great sound and very lightwieght. The only minor complaint would be the creaking noise when you move your head when wearing them. Other than that, they are durable, comfortable, and they provide a deep rich sound. I tried many others out at the store, and at this price point, they clearly had the best sound. They even sounded better than some of the $200+ head phones. Great buy!

Love these headphones!! They fit snugly over the ears and they really do stretch and twist, to fit in your bags. I have to say when i first got it the plastic feel made me think they weren't durable enough but they are pretty strong. I also love the idea that the headphone cord that's woven and has another port to plug in at the top so that you don't yank it out of your mp3 player by accident.

I have been using the same headphones for 20 years, Decided to get new ones that fit my head better and covered my whole ear. I am in love with these headphones. They have great stereo sound and pretty much cancel out any other noise in the room. I can watch 2 hour movies without my head hurting from the headphones like my other ones did. Should have got these a long time ago.
