Simply put, I love my Philips toothbrush. I appreciate the simple and elegant design with only one button and one brush head that does it all. It cleans my teeth thoroughly and gently. Having tried both the sonic and rotating head, I am definitely leaning towards the sonic brush. What I really like is how it senses how I brush and adapts to me. It changes the intensity if I press too hard, and it connects to the Sonicare app on my phone. The app shows me how I brush and gives me tips and advice on how to improve. It is like having a personal coach for my teeth! The toothbrush also comes with a nice travel case that keeps it charged and safe. It is very easy to use and maintain. It is a high-quality electric toothbrush that is worth every penny. Highly recommended!

This is my second Philips Sonicare tothbrush, the first one lasted about 4 years and one day decided to give up. I got this one since it is smart too, it can connect to the smart phone and can customize it much more. And it is not necessary to connect to the phone for it to work by the way. It cleans my teeth as well as my gums very well. It only comes with one brush, I was hoping it came with two, It looks elegant and works great, I've had it for over a month and I am enjoying it. I like the stand, I rather have the cup that came with the previous one I had. Overall I really like it and would buy again.

Obsessed! If you are really into having clean and healthy teeth -- this is the one for you. + I love how the app shows you exactly where you should be brushing more and for how long. The only con is that you need to have your phone with you every time you brush your teeth if you would like for it to register.

You get what you pay for. Yes, you can find much cheaper options out there, but the first time you use this, you understand. Integration of the app, hardware and customizable heads, along with system of other devices, such as the WaterPik just make it step above options on the market. Highly recommended!

I’ve used traditional toothbrushes for sometime I decided to try this one out and Im very pleased with the quality and features. I like that the brush head is small and makes it very easy to reach in the back of your mouth to clean those hard to reach places around your molars. Also not having to practically do anything except hold the brush in place over the area you need cleaned very high quality would reccomend for sure ! I spend about 60$ a year replacing tooth brushes these brush heads last 4-6 months 180 uses and are only 30-35$ and come in a 2 pack.

    Sonicare Meets Smart Phone Technology

I’ve been a Philips Sonicare user for more years than I can remember. This is the toothbrush system my dentist recommends. Before Sonicare, my dental checkups used to be tortuous because I have a lot of plaque buildup. Since I switched to Sonicare, my hygienist never has to scrape my teeth like when I only used a manual toothbrush. Having just gotten this newest Sonicare 9900 Prestige, Rechargeable Toothbrush with SenseIQ, I have to say it’s an amazing system. Do you really need an app monitored toothbrush? Probably not. But if you want the best dental cleaning experience plus having your teeth brushing monitored, the Sonicare 9900 does it and more. With the 9900, Philips suggests this toothbrush will remove up to 20 times more plaque and your gums will be 15 times healthier in a few short weeks. That alone is worth investing in a good Sonicare toothbrushing system. To get started, simply download the Philips Sonicare App from the App Store on either iPhone or Android and turn the toothbrush on. The app will recognize the toothbrush and connect your toothbrush via Bluetooth. Once you are connected, you can choose the order of the six pre-timed spacer zones (which buzz and alert you when it’s time to move the toothbrush to a different zone in your mouth). You can also program the toothbrush for zones which may need special attention like gum health. If you don’t own a smart phone and can’t use the app, you can change settings directly on the toothbrush by holding the power button for several seconds. But then if you don’t own a smart phone, you likely don’t need to buy a toothbrush which benefits from using a smart phone app. It’s already preprogrammed at the highest intensity brushing for 2 minutes. But through the app, you can adjust the settings to White+, Gum Health, Deep Clean, Sensitive and it even can alert you if you are using too much pressure by lighting up the bottom of the toothbrush handle. Finally, the app can even send an update to the toothbrush handle. Mine came with the latest software version. My, how things in toothbrush technology have changed! The toothbrush head on the Sonicare 9900 Prestige uses a Premium All-in One brush head with BrushSync Technology. It has a special symbol on the head and A3 to let you know it’s the right brush head for this system. BrushSync means, the toothbrush head communicates with handle using a microchip, it monitors brushing as well as when it’s time to replace the brush head. Since this is such a new system, replacement heads will need to be ordered directly from Philips. Maybe in the future there will be other buying options. For traveling, the system comes with a very-nice compact travel case with a USB connector (standard USB A to USB C), covered in a stylish “vegan” friendly leather. You simply put the toothbrush in the travel case and plug the USB cable into the end of the case and the supplied charging brick to charge the toothbrush. This makes it simpler than having to carry the charging base the toothbrush sits in on with you. While the travel case is compact, it would have been nice if it was slightly larger and included a place to store the USB cable and charging brick. Comparing this newest Sonicare to my previous Sonicare, it has the same solid feel in hand, yet its sleeker. It is a bit louder at the highest intensity. I do think my teeth feel cleaner though, so I’ll take louder for cleaner teeth. My previous Sonicare had what was called Quad-Spacer, which divided your mouth into 4 zones. This newer design has 6 zones (side/front/side top and bottom). I’m not sure why I need 6 zones as opposed to 4, but I’m adjusting. If you have never experienced a Sonicare Toothbrush, you don’t know what you’re missing. I’ve entrusted Sonicare to care for my teeth for years and I know my teeth are cleaner, my gums are healthier, and my dental bills reduced. I’d like to keep all of my teeth as long as possible, so while not inexpensive, this system is well worth the price of admission if you want the absolute best there is. Do you have to spend this much for an electric toothbrush? No, of course not. If your budget doesn’t permit this highest end Sonicare, their other systems are excellent as well. And with years of using their toothbrushes, I simply cannot recommend them enough!

    9900 Prestige- A major upgrade!

This is a major upgrade from the Sonicare DiamondClean toothbrushes I have. I have 3 generations of Sonicare toothbrush products and I like the 9900 Prestige the most, and with the new features it has does justify the high price tag it carries. • SenseIQ is the new feature on the 9900 Prestige, which automatically senses your brushing style i.e. pressure, motion, coverage, etc. and adapts the brushing intensity. Make sure you download the app before you start using the toothbrush. I played around to see what it did when I pressed hard against my teeth and I noticed it slowed down the intensity. Also, the light ring at the end of the toothbrush lights up, if you are scrubbing your teeth while brushing. After a week of use I noticed it automatically adjusted the intensity based on the data (brushing style , i.e. pressure, coverage, duration, frequency) it collected on the app and it did warm me that I was scrubbing at certain areas and also gave me some personalized recommendations on coverage, pressure, etc. I think it’s a nudge to change your brushing technique and habits, which we generally ignore if someone advises you, but you believe in yourself when you see your own data - definitely a positive impact on how you perceive your brushing habits should be. Artificial Intelligence has a role to play in our daily life! • The new all-in-brushhead it came with, is lot better than the plaque and diamond clean brushes I currently use. You can tell from the angled bristles on the brush head that they are designed to allow more cleaning in hard to reach areas. I like this brush head over others I currently use as I felt a little flossing action on my gums. These brush heads are bit expensive than the ones I use, so be ready to splurge a bit on the new brush heads. Can't tell if these last longer than the ones I used in the past, the app does warn you on when to change your brush head. • It came with a carrying case which is lot lighter than the ones I own and you can charge your toothbrush with a USB-C cable while it's in the case. Also, the toothbrush is smaller and lighter than the previous models that I own. The toothbrush and the case are designed with premium materials and has a luxury look to it. Definitely recommend this toothbrush if you are looking for an upgrade or looking to change from a different brand! I compared my experience with 2 different brands I currently own.

This toothbrush is certainly not your typical toothbrush! Considering the price of this product, you would expect it to be a top tier toothbrush. I would say it delivers on that as it has some really nice features that you won’t find in lesser priced toothbrushes. What really sets this toothbrush apart is the travel case. Unlike other toothbrushes, this comes with a very premium and elegant travel case that includes a USB C port for charging the toothbrush. This is an excellent addition that Philips has included. USB C is the future of connectivity so having that built into the travel case makes it easy to recharge your toothbrush without having to carry around a proprietary charging unit. The travel case is made of a very nice leather material and also has a carrying loop. Very nice addition! I have been a Philips Sonicare user for the last 3 years and have really loved the brushing experience provided by my previous Sonicare toothbrush! I have not had any cavities since using Sonicare and my dental hygienist compliments my brushing whenever I go to the dentist. The brushing provided by a Sonicare toothbrush really makes a big difference in helping you to keep your teeth clean and free of cavities. This particular toothbrush takes the regular Sonicare experience to a whole new level with some great added features. You can link this brush up to the Sonicare app to get real time feedback on your brushing, and the app can guide you through your brushing in real time to make sure you spend enough time brushing every area and brush correctly. The brush itself also gives you real time feedback on your brushing. If you put on too much pressure, it will vibrate to let you know. This brush also has 3 levels of vibration intensity which you can adjust while brushing to achieve the level of brushing power that works best for you. The charging base that is included makes it real easy to recharge this when you finish brushing. You just sit it down in the charging base and it wirelessly charges. Overall, this is a very nice and premium toothbrush! If you do a lot of traveling, the included travel case is a really nice addition and makes it easy to travel without having to carry around extra cables and charging cords. This is certainly a higher-end and more expensive product though, so you will want to assess whether the additional features it provides are worth the additional cost to you.

Brushing your teeth doesn’t get any better than this. The Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige puts a new twist on daily routine by providing you exceptional cleaning with a very premium feel. From its premium all-in-one brush head to its faux leather covered travel case/charging case, this is truly a prestigious toothbrush. I have been using an electric toothbrush for a long time now and honestly most of them done a great job at cleaning my teeth but the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige takes the win. Let’s go over some of the features, Pro’s and Con’s of this toothbrush and ill also explain why I fell in love with this toothbrush. -Initial Setup So, in the box you will receive 1 Handle, 1 Charging Travel Case, 1 Brush Head, 1 Charging Base, and a charging cable. To setup this toothbrush you will need to download the Philips Sonicare App, which will guide in the setup process. You will need to setup an account and connect the toothbrush to your phone to take full advantage of what this toothbrush has to offer. Now you can use this toothbrush as is, without connecting it to the app, but to experience the exceptional clean and to take full advantage of this toothbrush, I would highly recommend that you download the app and follow thru. Once you setup your brush you are good to go, so start brushing. -Philips Sonicare App The Sonicare App is a great tool for helping you achieve a cleaner and healthier mouth. The app provides you with pressure tips, and let you know if you are apply to much pressure and movement, Angle tips, using the correct angle to clean your teeth and your gums, Brush head monitoring, letting you know when its time to change your brush head. The app also allows you to control the vibration intensity of the brush head. The toothbrush offers you Low, Medium and High modes. The brush also offers an adaptive intensity which basically learns from how you brush your teeth and provides you with the best intensity mode. The toothbrush offers different cleaning modes, and the app allows you to choose between Clean Mode (2 Min Duration), White+ (2 Min 40 Sec), Gum Health (3 Min 20 Sec), Deep Clean (3 Min) and Sensitive (2 Min) with lower intensity. So, the reason I fell in love with this tooth brush is because of how easy is it to change modes and intensities. I have tried other electric tooth brushes as well and none have been so simple to use. The best feature of the Sonicare app and the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige toothbrush is the actual usage. The application guides you through the whole brushing process, helping you clean all your teeth, the gums and even how much pressure to apply. As you use your brush on a daily basis, it pretty much adapts to you and how you clean and how much pressure and what level intensity to apply. -Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige The toothbrush itself has a solid build quality and everything about the toothbrush has a premium feel to it. The Travel charging case has faux leather covering and even the regular charging base has a cool design. The toothbrush itself is very sleek and compact, you can take this brush with you anywhere you go. Pros: Multiple Levels of vibrating intensity Different cleaning modes Guided Cleaning Portable Design Very nice carrying case Premium Brush head Cons: The only thing I was not a big fan of on this toothbrush was that they only provide one brush head. I have used other electric toothbrushes and they all provide you with multiple heads. For the price I do believe that they should Include more than one. Overall, the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige is an amazing electric toothbrush that will truly change your toothbrushing experience. Over the years I have used multiple Philips Sonicare brushes and this one so far is the best and I would highly recommend anyone in the market to give this one a shot. You will not be disappointed.

    Amazing Philips Sonicare Upgrade!

Both my wife and I have been Philips Sonicare users for many years. Our current model is probably 6+ years old so it was time for a new one. Wow, have things changed. While yes, this model is much more expensive, the features are very advanced and if you really care about full mouth care, this is the device for you. First of all this is a smart device and connects to an app that you install on your phone. It allows you to monitor the intensity as well as the scrubbing. You can also set modes: Clean, White+, Gum Health, Deep Clean and Sensitive. Each of these modes is customized to the name they possess. For example, sensitive has lower power vibration which is easier on teeth and gums while white+ and Deep Clean add extra time to the cleaning time. You can notice the difference in vibration and time for each of these. The app also tells you how to brush and which teeth ( top to bottom) on how to brush. This allows the app to completely monitor how you brush across the pattern of your teeth from top to bottom. It will even show you which areas you need to focus on which is really cool. A couple of the things that this brush does that addresses concerns my dentist has is scrubbing and pressure. It can actually sense each of these. You enable them in the app. They then will flash amber at the base of the handle when you are scrubbing vs. letting the brush do the work. It will also flash purple if you are pushing too hard and applying too much pressure. This allows you to get immediate feedback and correct the brushing as you go. This is very helpful and I am sure my dentist will be very happy! I have a few pics in for this review. The handle ones showing the color are a bit blurry but you will get the point. Again, as you see them while brushing, the goal is to stop that so that you get a consistent brushing every time. This is an amazing unit, it will tell you when your brush head is wearing and needs replacing. It has a really nice travel case too which is great because we never usually travel with ours but that will change now! I would highly recommend this, especially if you are a current automatic toothbrush user. It is an amazing upgrade!

This is my second electric toothbrush and this one comes with a lot more features that help make sure you are doing a good job cleaning your teeth. This one is much more expensive than the previous one and that is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. You start by downloading the app (I have the iOS version), so will talk to that version of the app. After downloading the app, you are prompted to create a new account or login with existing credentials. That's it, you're ready to go. You select how long you want to brush on the app (standard being 2 minutes) and hit the start button on the brush. The app shows where to brush and the brush vibrates when you need to move to a different area of mouth. The brush will alert you if you are using too much force and the app will tell you if you are missing any areas or where you need to do a better job. The brush head is much harder than what I am used to...I normally use a soft brush head, but this one is very firm. I got used to it very quickly, but something to consider if you normally press firmly, you will need to change to a light grip. One thing I noticed is the app takes a few seconds to show that you are actually brushing, so the first section is halfway done before it realizes that you are already brushing, so I always get a notification that I am not brushing long enough for that area of the mouth. As you move to the next section of the mouth, the virtual teeth whiten as you brush that area and at the end, it gives you a summary of any concern areas (section of teeth not brushed enough, pressing too hard, etc.). Overall, I like the brush, but I can see how I wouldn't use the app over time. Holding the phone up so you aren't drooling all over the place when looking at the phone will get old quickly. For now, it is still interesting to see if I am covering all areas of the mouth. I would highly recommend the brush if it wasn't this expensive, but it does provide input on ways to improve your dental hygiene that a regular toothbrush doesn't do...so, as it is, I still recommend it.

The Answer to my Toothbrush Based Complaints

Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Disclaimer: I was in NO way shape or form paid to write this, this is solely my own personal opinion on the product. Prior to this toothbrush, I owned a Burst Sonic Toothbrush. Excellent toothbrush for the price if I might add. Prior to that, I owned mostly Oral-B and your generic toothbrushes you'll find at your local dollar store. I decided that if I was going to go big on a toothbrush it would no doubt be a question of Oral-B or Philips. So why did I go, Philips, if I've only ever owned Oral-B out of the two? Well simply put, I cannot stand Oral-B's brush heads. Others may disagree, but that's just where I stand on that. Not only that, but complemented with the fact that I had read all great reviews on Philips' A3 brush head (the brush head that comes with the handle), I knew which of the two I was going with. We'll start off with the cons first. First and foremost this guy is loud. The faucet turned on maximum pressure is just barely louder than the brush. I decibel tested it, and it's approximately 5 decibels louder than the burst toothbrush I came from. 5 decibels doesn't sound like a lot, and really isn't; however, when you are used to the burst toothbrush it's very noticeable. The brush measured 65.6 on the app, slightly quieter than a normal talking level. Next, it goes through its battery VERY quickly. This is no big deal because I religiously ensure it's back on the charger (so I know where it is because it is after all $350) so again it doesn't affect me so much, but I see it drain through roughly 3-4% per use. (Keep in mind I only ever use the highest intensity setting, but that still is a lotta juice). The last two complaints are that it only comes with 1 brush head. Would've been nice for two, if not for myself, at least for someone else to try. And then lastly is actually a complaint with the app. It doesn't do the best tracking when I'm brushing behind my teeth and sometimes neglects that I brushed my top right side at all (unless I'm just being super closeminded, or I'm actually not hitting it- which I of course don't believe lol). Another one I thought of that doesn't affect me, the over-pressure and scrubbing light is almost impossible to see without a mirror. I use the app, but if you did not have your phone around (maybe you're in the shower, I do not know but I highly recommend taking advantage of the app) it may be hard if not impossible to notice the light. Now let's talk about the greatness of this product... It genuinely feels like I walked out of the dental office, EVERY single time I use this brush effectively (which is super easy using the app). I read the reviews and thought it was BS, no my friend, it's true. And that's coming from someone who actively brushes 4-6 times a day (4 on average). Not only does my mouth feel clean, but it looks clean. This has been far more effective than any mouthwash, whitening strip, toothpaste combo. I speculated for the longest time the culprit of my disappointment was the brush, and I was right. There were (<keyword) spots in between my teeth that my floss, mouthwash, and burst couldn't clean. They weren't obvious at all unless nitpicking, (almost didn't exist) but first use and they were gone. Next is the brush head feels great. A little bulky, but for the next level of cleanliness you get, it's no big deal. Maybe it's not bulky at all but coming from the burst it does feel a little bit bulky. Even though it is larger, it still cleans far more effectively than the burst did. I'm not discrediting burst, fantastic toothbrush and it held up well for its price, but that's just the nature of things when you compare a toothbrush like that to this absolute behemoth. The app is great. Few complaints with the tracking, but overall more than effective. It keeps track of your brush head life, and even takes into account the speed and pressure of your brushing into life, and lets you know when you're due for a new head. A nice thing is that brush heads are $30 and are estimated at 180 uses. My last great thing to say about this brush is that it's simple. Some toothbrushes have a screen and active modes and a whole bunch of other stuff that clutters it up. This one has a power button and a small button below the power button that is sort of in the handle (in the sense that there's no visible button) to adjust the intensity (which I've only used high and have had no sores EVEN with my irrational 4-6 brushes a day). The modes and everything else can be changed in the app. Absolutely worth the money- and just may make you feel obligated to keep up on your dental health with how expensive it is. I recommend this over any toothbrush you are considering right now- even if you are just starting to take better care of your dental health. Is this expensive? Yes. Is this for everybody? No. But if you are extremely self-conscious about your teeth, and you tried what feels like everything to make them whiter; well this just might be your answer. It was for me anyway. The key to a whiter and healthier mouth isn't a crazy combination of products (ok maybe it is a little), it all starts with how effectively you brush (and a precursor to that of course could be flossing).

I’ve never driven a Bentley, but I can’t say I haven’t brushed my teeth with the Bentley of toothbrushes. From the case to the design, to the app – what a showstopper! As a long time user of electric toothbrushes, something is different about this one. It might be the 6 brushing zones or just the difference in the vibration, but the 9900 Prestige is something special. The pressure sensitive button and silky finish are a nice touch. The charger is different and has a classy look. The connected app is a cool feature. Its most useful functions are reminders for head replacement and tracking brushing efficiency. The app monitors pressure, coverage and motion. The brush and app will tell you when you are moving the brush too fast or when you’re pressing too hard. Very cool! Last but not least, what a slick looking setup. The whole package looks amazing. The flat deep color of the brush, the cool leather (or leather looking) charging case – it all adds up to one great electric toothbrush.

Awesome toothbrush! Recommended by my dentist. It took some time to get used to but my teeth feel and look better than a regular tooth brush. I highly recommend! I ordered from Best Buy Mira Mesa. That's where i find all of my electronics. Thank You! Also, it's compact and convenient for travel. The battery lasts for a couple of weeks. Everyone should have this product. It has bluetooth and will tell you if you are brushing properly. You will have to download the app and set up your profile. Then you phone needs to be near you with the app open to talk to the wireless toothbrush.
