Lots of good features and good sound for the price. Have issue with Pioneer's documentation and have still been unable to set the time because entering the setup mode doesn't work the way the documentation claims it should work. Need to disconnect and reconnect the battery to set the time, and then you have to re-setup all features. Also doesn't seem to work with large (16GB or better) SD or thumb drives. Well worth the cost.

I got this primarily for the blue tooth capability. It’s not the best I’ve used, but it gets the job done.

Good sound and features, horrible usability

First the good: Like others of said the sound is really good. It fills in the sound lossless MP3 removes. or something like that. It supports iPod and iPhone via USB and Bluetooth. That's really great, it works flawlessly. There's a feature that allows you to control your iPod with the stereo or with the iPod. It is a bit hard to find. Lots of colors. The bad: None of the menus seem to time out. this means if I've changed the front to back sound menu, I have to use the back button to go back to control volume. it's kind of a blessing, because it won't timeout if you can't change your setting right away, But you always have to back out. Even if you wait several minutes. The ugly:  I cannot see the screen during the day. Really hard to see without sunglasses. I have to sit all the way up so that I'm looking directly at the device 90°, any angle and you can't see anything. This makes fiddling with device while driving a real danger and almost impossible. I do realize that part of it is the angle that my car permits the stereo to sit at, but I don't think it's that significant. there should be some viewing angle that's permissible on this. It's almost like a privacy screen.  The menus are not intuitive. You're really going to have to look at the manual. There are different menus when the stereo is off, depending on which mode you're in, lots of menus, lots of confusion. that it's not easy to see compounds the issue. Aside, I think the Best Buy installation compounds the viewing angle issue. I do need to have them adjusted because the stereo compartment  does slide a bit. No deductions for that, though, it has nothing to do with the stereo performance.

I bought an older car and the radio was going out. I didn't need a complicated fancy unit but I did want a handsfree bluetooth unit to safely talk on the phone without holding the device. It worked well for a couple of days then started acting wonky. Upon answering the phone, the person on the other end cannot hear you until you disconnect the bluetooth and reconnect. If you have the IPod auxiliary cord plugged in and the phone rings, there is no way that I can find to answer the incoming call. In addition, the stereo takes over your phone and wont allow you to use the phone until you turn the phone off and restart it. I plan to take the until back in to have a tech look at it put as for now, I am not a happy camper with this unit.

    Glad I stuck with Pioneer

I just sold my truck, and along with it, my Pioneer Deh-3200UB. I had that stereo for a year and a half, and figured since I was getting a new vehicle, that I could get a new stereo too. I knew I wanted to stick with Pioneer because I loved my last stereo, and never had any problems with it. Buying a stereo this time around, the main feature that I wanted was Bluetooth streaming for music. Well...and hands free calling. I bought a manual car, and didn't want to have to play with my phone while driving. The Bluetooth works great. After you set it up the first time, you don't even have to take it out of your pocket for it to work. It will automatically stream music, answer calls, etc. Controlled all from the faceplate or remote. And the music quality is comparable to CD's. My friend and I tested it, and the music from my phone didn't start to cut out until I was about 25 feet away. Enough to impress me. Now I was already familiar with Pioneer's menu's and so on, so this time around I had no trouble figuring out the stereo. When I got my other stereo, it took me about 2 weeks to fully understand everything, but just a couple of days to get the jist of it. Very easy to navigate menu's, set presets, and customize colors. Overall, I love this stereo. Have been using it for about a week now, and have had no problems. Can use presets to set speed dials for contacts, so making calls out is as easy as receiving calls. Sound quality is good, not amazing, but exactly what you would expect out of an un-amplified system.

    Happy Listener!

This is the first time I have written a product review, and I have nothing but positive things to say about this stereo! I got it because my old pioneer suddenly stopped working after 7 years, and honestly, I am kind of glad that I had to replace it, because I am very excited about all of the new features this one has!! First of all, I didn't expect a difference in the actual sound quality, but I noticed just a fuller, richer sound overall. It is nice to have both a USB option and AUX outlet on the front faceplate. I also love now having bluetooth for both phone calls and audio streaming (for Pandora! and who doesn't love Pandora!!). One thing I will say is that I initially noticed a bit of static with the bluetooth streaming, but I found that if I turned the volume up all the way ON MY PHONE, then I did not have to turn the stereo volume up as much, thus eliminating the static. Others mentioned that they found the audio controls difficult to navigate, but I did not have any trouble at all, and found it to be very intuitive. (I did not have to read the manual, but just figured it out). Also, others mentioned that the display is hard to see in the sunlight, but you have the option to change from an entire rainbow of color display options (we are talking like 20 colors), and certainly some colors show up better than others in the sunlight. I feel that this was a very good purchase, and excellent value. You get so much for a mid-range price. Overall, I am very very happy with this purchase!! And again, I was sad to part with my old pioneer, but the upgrades with this one have really pleasantly surprised me :)

Why do they make the buttons so small

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I replaced my OEM car stereo with this. I really like the Bluetooth connectivity, USB power connection, and sound quality. I really don't care for the tiny little buttons and the display brightness during the day. The Best Buy installation was excellent, as I have come to expect from the folks at the Killeen, Texas, store.

Good in general, but not impressive of Pioneer

I am very pleased in general with my ability to connect my mp3 player both wirelessly via bluetooth streaming, as well as with a USB port. I like that the installed microphone allows me to make hands-free calls. However, the microphone seems too sensitive, as it picks up wind noise outside of the car. Also, my previous deck could remain powered on even with the key out of the ignition, but this one doesn't do that. So every time I crank my engine the stereo cuts off and back on, which disrupts the bluetooth connection, which takes a bit too long to connect to my devices. Also, there is an annoying sound after my calls end--like the Emergency Management System drill that you hear on TV or on the radio. The menu to change settings is not easy to navigate nor easy to adjust. I appreciate having the remote but most of the buttons aren't labeled for you to know what they do, so I still end up using the dial. I love the color options of the display (I keep mine set to scroll through colors), and the bass is pretty powerful. But this is my first time owning a deck made by Pioneer, and so far I'm not totally convinced that this deck is superior to the other less expensive decks I looked at in the store.

Just got this installed at the BB squad. they did a neat job. The product works as projected. Bluetooth clarity on talk/phone/iphone 4s is good to awesome. SOund quality over bluetooth streaming OOTunes, pandora, etc is good. The display brightness is pathetic and on a camry dash its hard to see whats on display in bright sunlight.

The quality of this stereo surpassed what I had anticipated. It comes with a mic for the bluetooth which is very discreet in size. The sound going in the mic is clear and the sound coming out from the speakers is good, you have to add some volume to hear the person but still great. You can even preset up to 6 contacts for speed dial...awesome. The remote even has to hang up or to pick up. The different color schemes are amazing, too many colors for my taste but awesome selection. Great crisp sound is just the menu functions that are a little tricky, took me about 45 minutes to get the WHOLE stereo to cooperate with me...really good system.

    great radio for BT

I recently helped a friend of mine put this radio in his Subaru Outback. He is an iPhone user and on it all the time. The bluetooth capabilities of this radio are awesome. Connects in a matter of seconds and sounds very clear when streaming audio. The phone calls through bluetooth also sound great. When he calls me I can hardly tell he's even in the car! The USB is also very fast. The convenience of being able to change the song from the radio itself or the ipod when connected USB is very nice. The color options are nice, however difficult to see in daylight. But that's pretty common for radios with different colors. Overall, it has been a great radio with no flaws yet. highly recommended

For the price, this is a great unit. It does everything it says and the sound quality is great. I was really amazed that a head unit under 140 bucks could do all of this. I have forgotten that I loaded 4gb of music on a chip in my Android phone last year when I got it. Well, now I have been listening to those songs through the bluetooth connection for over a month now and I have yet to hear all of the songs on my phone. I had a Rockford Fosgate ($500+ h.u) that was finally acting up after 6 - 7 years of use and was skeptical when I found this in the store, but that skepticism quickly changed after installation.

I installed this in a 1980 corvette. No major issues. Works well with no additional amplifiers. I also bought pioneer 6X9 rear speakers and pioneer 4x6 front speakers. I use a USB Jump drive and the sound is very good. I have not added a Sub yet, but plan to.

I bought this deck to replace a stock system and I am very happy with it so far. When I turn the key, it syncs with my iPhone automatically and begins playing where I left off on the song I was listening to. Very easy to use and setup, as well as to answer phone calls. My only gripe is that the microphone is poor quality audio, even with my face near it. The good part about the mic is that it is an external mic coming from the back, not one built into the front. My suggestion, for its price range and features set, this is a great deck, so don't hesitate!

I went into my local Best Buy will all intentions of purchasing one of the JVC models because it was less expensive. The employee advised me of this model because of the bluetooth capabilities. I am extremely happy about the stereo. I have an older truck and it is good to have the bluetooth phone capabilities now.

This is a great investment if you have a smartphone. Hands free calls works great, descent microphone for calls. Plays all media in my samsung galaxy s2, sad thing is can`t show the song name, album etc. You can do the basic stuff with it. Would be great if fully compatible with android. This is a great deal, features/price i would buy it again!

I bought this radio to replace the previous Pioneer model that was stolen out of my truck. This model has better features and was cheaper than the previous model! I really like the abillity to sync to my iPhone via Bluetooth and the changeable illumination colors. I am very happy with this stereo!
