Got this when it was half off. Excellent speakers for the price. Only took me a few minutes to have it up and running. There's a digital optical cable included in the box which was awesome. The one problem I encountered was trying to get my TV remote to work. The manual was vague and hard to understand but looking it up on YouTube helped me get it set up quickly. The wireless subwoofer never given me any problems and sounds great.

Researched soundbars for quite a bit before stumbling upon this unit on CNET (where I should have started my research to begin with). The fact that it's major selling point is that is sounds great with TV, Movies AND Music really appealed to me. Plugged and played out of the box with the optical cable to the TV and easy Bluetooth pairing for the tiny, attractive subwoofer. The soundbar itself is rather large but it's enclosed in an attractive wood cabinet that you quickly accept due to the excellent performance. Major sound, especially for the price. Crisp dialog, great bass for action movies and great music playback. The only setback is that the soundbar does not include an LCD display to show volume and level controls. I quickly got over that fact, but that is what keeps this from being a true 5-star product as most units at this price point already include that feature. Overall, highly recommended soundbar for under $400.

I was looking to switch out my 6.1 surround sound system with a sound bar and ended up narrowing down to this Pioneer, Sony and Yamaha. I picked the Pioneer based on reviews, size (fit my current TV stand) and excellent price point (Got it for ~$250). Set up was a breeze. Cable box and Blue ray go to TV via HDMI. Optical out from TV to bar. The bar has been in use for about a month. Mostly TV programming. movies and music via bluetooth from my iPhone. The sound performance is excellent across the board. Am quite happy with it. Things to consider: The sound bar does not (and to be fair) cannot fully replace the rear surround experience. But it very effectively replaces all other sound experiences from high to low ranges. Bass is very filling. The bar has no indicator for sound volume - you just have to adjust it as needed. The remote is a credit card sized one and could be better, but is functional. I have not used the 'learning' feature yet - am waiting to get a universal remote. Summary - a great sound bar to try out and see if a more expensive and feature-filled one is for you or not. Highly recommended.

For those looking for a quality sounding system. I would recommend this soundbar. It does not have the fancy "simulated" surround sound, but the sound coming from the soundbar is close to that of a great speaker setup. The bluetooth works as it should and we use it everyday. Easy to setup. One downside is that my samsung tv remote will not work for it.

(Background: I am an audiophile) I read reviews for a lot of soundbars and because I don't have $2000 to spend on martin logan speakers I went with this one. For the price it is nearly untouchable. The sound quality with the sub turned down is fantastic especially with the setting on voice. Speaking of settings, there are three variations: music, movie, and voice. Depending on what I am listening to or watching I will change it. This soundbar is stylish and sleek and fits right underneath my TV without blocking the screen. For the right price this soundbar is a great investment until one has enough money to spend on a high end sound system.

Purchased along with LG NB 3530A. Both have soild sound with the Pioneer having a silghtly fuller richer sound. Bass from both is very similar as the LG sub is larger overal. Remote on LG is larger more sustantial but the Pionner is very compact "flat-style" and is simple to opperate- fast to adjust the sub etc., just have to treat with care and easy to misplace. Bluetooh; faster connectivity on LG and was easy to opperate. Pioneer was slower connect but easy once paired. Appearance is better on Pioneer as speaker bar covered while speakers exposed on LG. So depends on "the look" your going for. Both are very good with the edge going to LG as less money to start.

I purchased another, lesser powered, sound-bar and while it worked, it didn't deliver the sound I was expecting. I chanced upon this Pioneer sound-bar, on sale no less, and it certainly delivers the sound that I was expecting/wanting. Added bonus: the sale, at nearly 50% off original price, this is an excellent deal.

I looked at reviews for soundbars, and this one rates high. I needed one less than 4.5" high, and less than 40" wide. This unit is well made and sounds good, with full but not boomy bass. Easy to set up. I use with a Samsung 42" plasma, which has very poor sound as to all newer TV flat panels with the speakers on the back.

I own and live in an RV for the first time in my life. I guess I'm a homeowner again. Trying to set up a halfway decent sound system was challenging because of space constraints, not to mention stuffing a 46" lcd tv in there as well. But I managed to do it. Sound quality was highest on my list. But spending $1400 for a Sanos soundbar was not reasonable to me. This Pioneer AJ soundbar was very well reviewed, priced right at $400, but turned out to be on sale for $300 at Best Buy. Deal! It sounds great, pumps out decent bass, gets loud and has Bluetooth. I don't know why anyone thinks it's bulky or ugly. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder because I think it looks like a piece of high quality home theater equipment. And for the price, it is.

I purchased the Pioneer SP-SB23W to connect to an older model TV, Although I was unable to connect via optical cable (TV was incompatible) I was able to connect speaker to via optical cable to cable box. Setup was easy and sound is phenomenal! Great bass from subwoofer. *This speaker was easily connected to Alexa also.

I'd say most guys buy a sound bar because their wives won't let them have a full sound system. Well gentlemen here's the affordable answer to your dilemma. This system rocks! Sounds like a full home theater system. Like your movies loud? Turn up the bass until you can feel it, run it as loud as you like without mushy bass or tinny treble. Connect your phone, iPad, computer, via Bluetooth and hear your music collection as it was intended to sound. You would have to spend a lot more money to get anything that sounds close to this. And the enclosures are made of wood like a speaker enclosure should be.

Reviews I read in advance said that the Bluetooth can go haywire. I've had mine for two months and it has performed flawlessly. It sounds better on jazz and more detailed music that it does on rock and pop, and the tv sound is excellent. The bass is perfect - not boomy and muddy like some.

Simple solution to poor audio from a panel TV

Did a WHOLE bunch of research before I finally selected the Pioneer SP-SB23W as an addition to my bedroom's (Samsung) 42" panel TV. In particular, I wanted a simple sound system that would improve the clarity of dialogue. This unit does not disappoint. It was a good buy at a $300 price point (I probably would not have paid the $400 MSRP). The three DSP audio modes (Music, Movies, and Dialogue) actually work well. As an added bonus, the unit (somehow magically?) evens out the volume of commercial content when viewing commercial-laden programs. I have since disabled the TV's internal speakers. All the audio that comes out of the SP-SB23W sounds excellent in this environment (room size about 16 x 22 feet). The downside is the diminutive remote control (r/c) unit, as in, yet another gadget to maintain...and avoid losing. This r/c has a full array of controls for the sound bar (SB) and its wireless sub-woofer. Although the SP-SB23W's Bluetooth receiver can "learn" control codes from your TV's main r/c, that learning is limited to the few control buttons on the sound bar itself: Power, Volume +/-, Audio Mode, and Source. To drive home this point, for example, the only way to adjust the sub-woofer volume is with the SP-SB23W's r/c. It would be more convenient if the sound bar also had a "Mute" button that could be paired with your TV's remote's counterpart. I paired up the SB's Power and Volume controls to corresponding buttons on my TV's r/c, but I also found that my TV remote really didn't have any "convenient buttons" to pair up with the SP-SB23W's other functions (that is, Source and Audio Mode). That is, I would have to pair a TV button to the sound bar that, when pressed to change a SB setting, would also have an undesirable affect on a TV setting. One other comment: In the many consumer reviews I read, owners complained of an issue with missing an audio channel when paired with a Bluetooth audio streaming device. i have not tried this (yet), so cannot comment on it. Bottom line: I am very pleased with the audio quality from this system. It met all my needs and expectations. I highly recommend it, in spite of the r/c inconvenience.

The Andrew Jones Soundbar has great sound. The subwoofer hooked up perfectly. It took three trips to Best Buy to get one that worked right. The first one had an optical connection that did not work. The second one the bluetooth would not connect. The third one is great. The remote would not synch with the tv remote or the cable box remote. Bought the Harmony 650 and now everything works great together!

This unit sounds good so it accomplishes the purpose but the remote is tiny and easy to misplace. Using it in the dark takes some getting used to since nothing on the remote lights up. The wall mount is a poor design and leaves the speaker a hanging at an odd angle, some rubber pads would have helped.

This bar was easy to setup: Optical cable from TV and a power cord. The Sub-woofer also had a power cord and required a very simple pairing of the wireless connection to the sound bar. The wireless remote control is easy to use and we also setup the TV remote to control the sound bar. This was also easy to accomplish by following the instructions with the sound bar. The sound is powerful and very rich. We use it for internet music and movies. The sub-woofer can be adjusted independently for the amount of base you prefer. This is a very good sound system. We were disappointed with the sound of other systems but are completely happy with this one. We are using it in a carpeted room with a wall of windows. The room size is 12 ft x 20 ft and there is plenty of power and beyond for this room. Dialing the volume up can produce good listening in other areas of the house as well.

Bought because of the great reviews for its sound quality. I definitely agree about the sound so it was well worth the price. The only issue I have it it's size. Taller than many speaker bars so if your tv is low, it may block your view.
