WE've had other receivers some failed, some didn't produce the intended results. This Pioneer model is great. Of course it's modern version having all the newest features which sets it apart. It seems to be smart too, recognizing when we've got a DVD ready to play or going back to cable. Really brings our B&W speakers to life!

After taking back a couple of other receivers, I upgraded to this one to power my 7.1.2 theater system with atmos. It powers all my speaks and two 12inch subs without any additional amps and does a great job with the separation of sound.

I upgraded my LX501 to this LX503 because I needed more channels for my Atmos speakers. I own the entire Pioneer Elite Andrew Jones Atmos system. Having my rear Atmos finally working and my new SVS PB1000 subs all connected transports my family into the scene! It’s nothing like I have ever experienced before. Just waiting on the price to drop on the new Pioneer 4K BDP now.

Full featured, probably overkill for my use in a 12 x 14 viewing room. Music and home theater use. No disappointment so far. Did have to remove back of component cabinet and install fan to keep unit cool. Old Yamaha 5.1 av receiver didn’t get as hot but was almost 10 years old and only 45 watts per channel. Good upgrade for latest features. ATMOS is a great addition. Haven’t used multiple zones or separate amp yet.

This is the best home theater receiver, that i ever purchase, this baby have plenty of power, i don't care what you throw at it, it bring out the best sound of any speaker, very easy to setup, i was a little hesitant about this purchase, because i was a Onkyo fan for life, but lately onkyo have been getting some bad review, on their (HDMI), connection, so i made a decision to try, Pioneer - Elite 9.2 Home theater receiver, the bestbuy salesman inform me that i would not be disappointed with this purchase, and he also inform me that this receiver was on sale, and that was also a great selling point, I'm smiling every time i listen to my music and, watch my movie, Thanks Bestbuy

I went to buy a Yamaha but my wife liked the sound of the Pioneer better. And it was on sale. So I decided to try it. I had Pioneer equipment before and liked it but had not seen higher end Pioneer receivers for a while at BestBuy. We just love this Elite 9.2. Have it set up as 7.1 now and the sound quality is great for our use. I have it on Klipsch Reference Series Dusl 8” and it has plenty of power and good crips sound. I was a little afraid when I iunboxed the unit and found out Onkyo had purchased Pioneer but so far I am very pleased with this receiver and the software functions work well . The auto set up was better on the Pioneer than the Onkyo I had tried before and with a little tweak we love it

Great reciever. I needed 3 zones and this one delivered. Plenty of power and sounds great. The app worst good but chrome cast will only work on zone 1. The only downside is that I can't stream SiriusXM very easily to zone 2 and 3. Yamaha and denon can but are much more expensive. Aside from that I am very pleased.

Needed to have this reciver to support all my new 9 Definitive speakers that is needed for real Dolby Atmos sound. The other brand will cost you about 800.00 more. I tried the smaller other brand that could not support all my speakers and found that the Pioneer has much clearer separated sound.
Which ever you choose be patient with the setups. Don't hesitate to call the help line that's how I found out I needed 9.2 chanel's for all my speakers.

This receiver is often on sale for $899.99 but even at its normal $999.99 price, no other receiver comes close with the features it has with its pricing. Pioneer is now owned by Onkyo and it seems as they have done a good job since ownership.
1. Although it is a 9 channel receiver, it does have Pre-Outs to connect an external amp to allow a total of 11 channels. I'm running Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 calibrated using Pioneer's system and does a wonderful job in doing so (did take a while to calibrate though). Be sure to connect it to a Display to do the set up as the visuals help with endless of speaker configuration settings.
2. The GUI is super user friendly and easy to understand. It almost eliminates the need of the owners manual
3. The receiver does not run as hot as others and able to process 4k without issues.
4. The apps aren't that bad, although slow to load at first, once connected (i'm using Ethernet) all is smooth and quick.
5. The Bluetooth has wonderful range and has yet to cut off.
6. The receiver powers my Klipsch Reference speakers without issues...although My old Denon produced slightly better sound for Stereo Music, but it's not terrible. Plus Ii'm using this receiver 80% of the time for movies.
I suppose the only thing that bothers me, compared to Denon or Marantz, is the finish is very "plasticy" and non premium. It is very glossy, so be prepared for finger prints to show up very easily.
Honestly, (unless you have expensive speakers that are power hungry) at its price point there is nothing that competes with it if you are wanting Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 configuration. If you want a receiver with similar features, the next step is a Denon AVR-X4500H or Marantz SR6013 which is $500+ more.

Excellent Receiver for the Price

Got this to replace an older model killed by lightning strike. Price was good, and the receiver is excellent. The only issue is it claims to be 9.2 and it sort of is, but not really. It is really a 7.2 with 2 other zones available. The 2 other zones are not assignable so while you can power speakers in other rooms you cannot assign those zones to height or wide speakers in your main room as I understand it. I got it for a room that literally needs a 9.1 but currently have it in another room that is 6.1

Over all very good receiver reason am giving 4 star not so happy with the remote you have to point directly to receiver to act sins I have a samsung Q7 tv and the arc will act up on you I bet on that always thought Samsung was too of the line BS poor software don’t let be mislead that’s the receiver . So that’s why am rating 4 star where my receiver remote became weak 2 . Good, great sound I shall say my first pioneer always believed in onkyo but change is always good I geuss :D

Amazing set up, super easy with the pioneer app.
I haven’t even touched my receiver for set up.
You can even use the app as a remote to switch inputs.
I can do everything from my phone, even the EQ of each speaker an subwoofer, if your room isn’t set up perfectly symmetrical.
I absolutely loved the mic for the set of the speakers.
Good Bang for the Buck$. Verses some 3x more the $.

I was skeptical about this product because I was replacing an Onkyo reciever that died after 3 years since this is basically the same company. I like the 3 Zone option. I use it for 5.1 in the tv room and to power speakers in the master bedroom, office and patio. The set up for me was easy. The sound quality is great and the features meet my needs.
