Older ram isn't always easy to find, but Best Buy had it. Quick, cheap way to get a little more life out of a very old computer.

This memory upgrade was an easy way to quickly upgrade performance and responsiveness on my grandaughters older HP laptop running Windows 10. Her laptop only had one memory slot, that had a 4GB stick, this replacement doubled that memory. Memorywas compatible and we had no issues,

This memory works in a MacBook white chassis (mid 2010 design). While the speed had a higher rating than what was supported, when I left one of the original 2 GB sticks (operating at the correct speed) in the system, this memory clocked itself down to the correct 1066 MHz and operates very well. The memory alone in the system would not function but as long as you left one dimm in the system operating at the correct frequency, it worked great. Highly recommended for any laptop needing a boost in memory as it (combined with a new SSD drive) will take any old laptop and make it perform like a racing machine.

I purchased two of these and installed them into my 2012 Macbook Pro without any problems! First time doing something like that and it was extremely easy (lots of YouTube tutorials, same process regardless of RAM brand). Massive performance boost thanks to my new 16 gigs of RAM. This, along with an upgraded 2TB of SSD, has brought my 8-year old Macbook Pro back to life. Definitely recommend!

It's ram. Nothing special but it does the job. Also these days I don't think we're running 1600mhz DDR3 very much but I'm giving this 5 stars because it gave my dusty older macbook pro, a new lease on life... and in that same breath, I was able to upgrade my iMac with 4 more as well. Win win.

Great memory for my lap top easy to install did its job

I replaced the OEM 4GB RAM with this 8GB unit and it has increased the perofrmance of my laptop. Now my laptop can run more tabs or background applications with getting too bogged down. The RAM is definitely a great place to start if you look to upgrade your computers performance.

If you want to make ur laptop faster the upgraded ram is the way to go

Purchased 2 sticks to upgrade 2012 MacBook Pro from 8 GB to 16 GB -- in addition to replacing the old hard drive as well as removing the DVD drive to replace with two SSD's, one also purchased at a Best Buy, placing Windows 10 on the primary drive which goes in the bay where the previous hard drive was located; otherwise it and the BootCamp drivers would not install when trying to install Windows on the drive located where the DVD drive used to be. Now both MacOS Mojave and Windows 10 work fine, and no problems were experienced with the RAM. I intend to use this to record music and possibly edit a video or two, and 16 GB is pretty much a necessity for recording music with numerous effects, etc...

I have updated my 6 gb toshiba laptop to 12 gb,which was a pain to upgrade because there wasnt any bottom cover, I had to remove the whole back to access memory module, and after the install it run a little faster and did not lag even if I have multiple windows open. I Recommend this upgrade to everyone whose laptop is 6 gb or less.

Best Buy still had this DDR 3 memory in stock as I wanted to add more memory to an older Mac Book Pro. Macs can be finicky about memory upgrades so it is important to always verify compatibility . This universal DDR-3 SO-DIMM was speed compatible and works great! No booting problems, lock-ups or performance issues at all! Since Windows machines are generally more tolerant hardware-wise this should work great for machines that require DDR 3 as well!

Great price. Had to order online due to lack of inventory on hand and took a little longer for delivery due to the current pandemic. Memory is very good and perfect replacement to get the job done.

I've had my HP Notebook 15-f272wm for about 2 years now since I've started college and it has treated me well but I knew it could use a little boost. The laptop only has 1 RAM slot due to the limitation of supporting a max of 8GB so I purchased this to replace with the existing 4GB and wow, this really improved my overall speed and loading times when I open up various apps and multi-windows when I'm doing homework or browsing the web. I'd definitely recommend this to anybody looking to upgrade!

This has been a great addition to my laptop. My laptop was having performance issues, since it came with only 8GB RAM and I do photo editing. Adding this memory corrected my issues. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

I was very surprised when I found this on sale at Best Buy for the price I paid. Usually, I would expect to pay a lot more and have to go on Amazon to get it for the price I did. I am using it without any issues in a 2012 MacBook Pro. I already had 16 GB of RAM in that machine that was working fine, but bought this for a different computer. It turned out the other computer would not take 8 GB sticks, after trying another brand as well. I decided to put this in my MacBook Pro to see if there is any difference in performance than the other brand of RAM I had. Indeed there was. It wasn’t anything hugely significant, but it did improve the overall speed and benchmark score. The compatibility issue had nothing to do with this manufacturer, but only with the limitations of the computer model I tried it in originally. A lot of times people don’t realize that ram that doesn’t officially say it supports Mac does indeed work. This works extremely well in my MacBook Pro and I highly recommend it. I have also tried it in my Windows laptop which works like a charm as well. I would not pay Best Buy is normal retail price for it however, but if you can get it on sale, definitely grab it. Obviously it was a hot ticket item because I got the last two sticks left. 0WC makes extremely consistent products that are compatible with pretty much every operating system as long as the motherboard/chipset/firmware Will except the amount of RAM per stick.

If your notebook computer uses DDR3 ram this is a great way to extend its life. Going from 4gb to 8gb made a world of difference in my son’s laptop. Paired up with a new SSD he will get many more years of use out of his computer.
