This is a great card for old computers with 250 watt psu's. Works fine with windows aero, and makes games playable on older compters. My old Dell Optiplex GX280 Minitower turned into a gaming station with this card and was amazing with aero. i recommend updating your BIOS before installing this card, and checking your psu, and making sure your ram in nice and tight.
Great card, buy it. Also has to vga ports for dual monitors, and 1 s-video out

This is "The 3D Graphics Card for Older Computers"

well I have a Older E-machine T1842 that is nice but outdated. I didn't want to spend a lot on a card and have it not work in my computer. From the specs this one fit the ticket. The Price was right and it was direct x ready. When it arrived I popped it in and bang no screen. Forgot to reset the bio for pci and resolution.I got that working by uding safe mode to insall and thought I was good to go till I ran a game , no Direct X 3d .I checked the internet and found many with this problem. but no answer. Then I went into the nvida control Panel and reset the screen refresh rate to a lower rate, after disabling the mother board graphic driver. The software rewrote and I got great games. If you are not a nerd, I would let someone who is install this card for you .It is a great buy and worth the trouble I love it. It is a Great Upgrade for a older computer I am a happy gamer now.if you are going to install yourself I would print this .

Enabled an older computer to run Windows 7!

I wanted to upgrade my old HP Pavilion desktop to run Windows 7 and the only item that was not compatable was the built in graphics card. I searched the internet for something inexpensive so I could run Windows 7 with the Aero themes. I came across this PCI graphics card and thought the price was good. I checked other sites and some wanted $80-$100 for the exact same card! I order thru Best Buy and had the card in a few days! Installation was really simple and no problems at all!

Does it's Job

The card works fine. I needed it for a recording software's 3-d imaging engine. The installation was short and simple. I just had to remember to plug my monitor into the card and to disable the other monitor output connection.
Setup is even easier, the card automatically configures the screen for best output. Also u can change the settings to fit what u are doing at the time. i.e. Watching videos, picture viewing/editing, streaming video sites like youtube. And u can do this at any time from the desktop "right-click" menu.

Good, Inexpensive PCI card that supports Windows 7

I was looking for an inexpensive PCI card that would support the graphics features of Windows 7. This card works fine with Windows 7 and seems to have decent performance, although I do not use it for gaming.

This was a bit of a tricky install. I was able to do it, and I consider myself about medium in upgrading abilities. The display is a bit strange, it sort of sheets from top to bottom when displaying new web pages. All in all, average. There are frequently "scratches" on some web pages, but a refresh will take care of that. I was able to stretch a bit more life out of an older Compaq single core amd processor desktop. A 250 watt power supply limited my choices considerably. For 40 bucks, a fair work around until I break down and just get a better desktop.

I was looking for a decent upgrade for the family computer and stumbled upon this graphics card. You definitely get your money's worth if you have a low budget for upgrading and just want to keep your old computer current with the times. If you want a card where you can crank up the settings and play games that have advanced 3D graphics, like MMORPG's and some first-person shooters, then this isn't the card for you. Otherwise, a great buy and worth every penny.

Don't buy this graphics card

This product died about a month after I got it. I contacted tech support, and they told me it was because I didn’t have a powerful enough power supply and to disconnect my second hard drive, which I did. The hard drive remained disconnected until the graphics card died, after about another month. We contacted customer service, and three levels of management assured us that they absolutely could not refund my money; they would only send me a new one. I have had this graphics card for a little over two months and it has worked for about one month of this time. I work as an assistant in my school’s IT office, so it’s not as if I am clueless about these things.
The bottom line is, do not buy this graphics card. PNY’s tech support and customer service were completely useless. There are plenty of better ways to spend your money.

After I got the card in my hands I discovered Nvidia drivers are difficult to come by and install for the Linux crowd. After a full two days of tinkering around I finally got it to work as advertised with two monitors working. However, I cannot "span" them, only two seperate monitors. This is acceptable for me because I run an XP Pro instance in virtual mode on one screen and Fedora 12 on the other screen.

Great Graphics card for upgrading older systems

This was used to upgrade an older Compaq system running Win XP which would not handle 3D graphics very well. After installing the card, I was impressed with the speed an 3D performance of this card. Make sure you disable the Motherboard integrated video, unless you are running 2 monitors.

Hi , mine is an old PC so this may work well for others, I will use this brand again because the professionalism is really there. The instructions are quite good.
However, it took three days for the item to leave the warehouse and only 3 days for the shipper to give it to me

Great graphics card, great delivery!

This was installed in a slightly older e-Machine case for a customer of mine. The slot cover was a bit too tall (or the tab on the bottom was a bit too long), so it took some maneuvering and adjustment with pliers to make it seat correctly.
Other than that one little problem, the card is great. It was installed to give video capable of running the native 1920x1080 resolution on a 23" wide-screen monitor. It worked like a champ!
Delivery was prompt. I would have preferred a bit more packing material to prevent damage to the card in shipping (might have been a problem for a hard drive or something with moving parts) but it arrived in one piece and worked, so I can't complain.

The card is almost plug and play easy.
It was installed and ready to rock in about 10 minutes.
All my games run faster and with much greater detail. (I’m a Sims junkie)
This graphics card is a super upgrade for any computer that uses a PCI card slot
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a low priced graphics card that works like a high price one.

Great Value, sharp text for 2D work

I have had the board for a few weeks, and it does what I wanted. It provides sharp text and 2D graphics as a replacement graphics board for basic office applications. It also provides resolutions at/above HD (1920x1080) so I could run my 23" monitor at its native resolution.
