    Best Pokemon Game to Date

I lost my original copy of Pokemon Legends Arceus in a move, but the game is excellent. The Pokedex is more interactive, there are lots of side quests to finish, character customization is much better than in Let's Go Eevee and Let's Go Pikachu, and like those games you are incentivized to do the thing in the game that sets it apart from other monster raising games: Catch more of the monsters. Most monster raising games besides Pokemon make getting more monsters difficult, but incredibly good. In most Pokemon games it's fairly trivial to catch five, ten, or even twenty of a particular monster, but generally you're better off breeding them. In Legends Arceus, catching many Pokemon is expected, and it makes the game so much more fun. I am eagerly awaiting Pokemon Legends Z-A and I want to finish this game before it comes out in 2025, so I'm picking up a new copy today. Wish me luck with the replay, I'm planning to 100% the game this time so I can get the Azure flute on my copy of Pokemon Shining Pearl.

For a Pokemon game this was pretty special, just being able to have a slight amount of freedom was enough for me. But putting aside my childhood nostolgia for the game, its issues start to apear. I'll start with the most obvious, the graphics are rather awful. Although this could be due to the Switch being a very weak console or the nature of the open world was simoly to much for the producers to handle, it doesent really matter. This game looks like it could have come out in 2011. Personally I never found this to be an issue, but im aware that others will. My primary complaint is in the games repetitive simplicity. In short this game boils down to catching Pokemon. To progress at all in the story (which is also depressing simplistic) you're forced to catch pokemon repeatedly to finish reaserch tasks. Which in itself is not a horrible idea until you realise that catching a pokemon is essentially hiding in a bush throwing a berry and then waiting until the pokemon turns around. Although there is a feature to essentially fight the pokemon the option is rather pointless as the in game time required to gather the resources outweigh the convience of hiding in a bush. As such as soon as a pokemon sees you your best action is to run away as nesrly all pokemon follow the same AI, 1 it sees you, 2 it gets mad at you, 3 it attacks you. This repettstiveness does begin to drag on as the obly truly new thing that happens as you progress is seeing new pokemon. Now, I do find this review a bit harsh. As Im grading the game as if it were trying to be some sort of masterpiece, when it simply is not. Pokemon legends Arceus is a simply game at worst and a relaxing adventure at best, but it certainly will not be winning any awards. TLDR: Pretty good, easy a little boring. But Pokemon!

After many years of similar Pokemon games, this is a major change to the standard formula. It makes Pokemon seem to exist in a more living world when they are on the field and living in the environment that you can interact / manipulate with. In my photo, I'm riding around and being hit by a sleep spell. This is as much a breathe of fresh air as Breath of the Wild was for Zelda games. Nice open world (mostly) that shows Pokemon behavior instead of reading boring Pokedex entries. Being free from the standard formula means modern quality of life improvements (eg. camps in the wild vs. relying on cities). The RPG/quest stuff can be more optimized though.

This is a great open world and good gameplay compared to the drab JRPG-like play from the original Pokemon games.

I honestly loved this game. It’s fun, exciting and engaging. Definitely would be a little hard for the younger fans but definitely good for bigger kids and the older fans. It sometimes has some glitches but honestly it’s kinda funny when I see them. I can wait to see what else they add to this series of games.

Loving the game!!! Ordered it online picked it up the same day and have been hooked on it since! Open world style game makes exploring the lands as you unlock them that much more fun and entertaining. So many tasks and requests to keep you busy for 100’s if not thousands of hours.

What a breath of fresh air from the stagnant monotony of the current gen Pokemon games. Open world, time travel and Pokemon. It's a good time. Would love to see more Legends. Maybe with traditional battles added back in.

If you are a Pokémon fan that got bored of the old school style types of these games this is a breath of fresh air. I have not had this much fun playing a Pokémon game in a long time. Buy this so Game Freak can build on this franchise. Love this game

This game is worth it. You don’t have to worry about much about buying legends arceus. It has plenty of gameplay and you’ll make your moneys worth. It’s a great first Pokemon game as well, was my first, actually!

Definitely a different gameplay experience from other Pokemon games. A little bit like a MMO with open world adventuring, crafting and some fetch quests. In some ways it's a familiar gameplay experience to other Pokemon titles but some of the new mechanics will throw you off until you get used to it. I recommend it.

This game is nothing like what came before it in the series. It’s a breath of fresh air to have some other objectives is stead of the same old linear formula. It’s easily become one of my favorite Pokémon games of all time. Imo it’s a must buy if you’re a Pokémon fan
