This really is the speaker, you have always wished Alexa was... Big bass, crisp highs, and room filling sound, all voice controlled. The Subwoofer really cranks during the action scenes. The built in Alexa works just like a stand alone echo, and controls all the Wemo light switches and the ceiling fan in my room. It is a great marriage of a high quality sound bar and Alexa functionality. Insert your Amazon Fire stick into the dedicated slot on the rear of the command bar, and now Alexa will search your favorite Netflix or Prime video with just your voice. You can also tell Alexa to increase or lower the volume, bass, etc. Right out of the box, with no programming, I was able to control the command bar volume with my Verizon Fios remote. Highly recommended.

I love the sound and details but the most I like is the remote control, I can choose a special sound to movies, sports and music and if you are watching or listening music at night, press a button and the sounds are getting smooth. The only thing I fighting every single day is with the Fire TV Stick in the back of center speaker, sometimes I can watch 6 hours of tv thru the apps in the stick attached and sometimes in 20 minutes, show overheat (the Fire Stick, not the speaker) and sometimes reboot all the time.

This soundbar has great highs and mids with smooth lows oozing out of the subwoofer, as well as a nice thump of the bass drum. The Bluetooth connectivity is easy to switch between devices and it has an awesome remote with volume, bass, and voice controls. I love voice adjustment the most, it surprised me on how much control I can get over the sound.

This is pretty AWESOME. It’s perfect. And the Woofer is very easy too pair. And when I choose to use headphones it doesn’t turn off my sound and picture after a while like Sony sound-bar did. This one is easy too connect and setup. And it’s easy on the wallet.

I decided to get this sound bar for my living room. I have Polk products and loved them. I'm new to Alexa so I figured this would be amazing! I'm very disappointed. Set up was not a easy as I thought, especially someone who is tech savvy. The manuals are useless. Out of the box Alexa does not work. Tried connecting it all day to the command app with no luck. I even called Polk and they kept me on hold forever until they decided to hang up on me. Horrible customer service from them. Sound from the bar has been good, but wanted to try it out Alexa features. I'm considering returning and getting another option. No point having a sound bar that sounds good but the Alexa feature is a fail. I would not recommend this even at the current lower price point. On a positive note, Best buy gave me amazing customer service! Would buy from them again.

I first got this about a year ago, it was decent sound for the price but not the quality of the other high end sound bar I have. The Alexa connected to multi room was a nice feature for music through the house. Then the Arc connection stopped working and I have to use optical. Finally there were updates sent through Alexa that wouldn’t ever end or complete. It made the sound bar almost always stuck in update mode and useless if not annoying. To make matters worse there is no follow up support. Polk cannot help you alone there is a special line. You can never get through, a call back or email. To summarize it’s enticing junk.

Don't waste your money on this. The audio constantly drops out now Alexa no longer connects to my Wifi even after a factory reset. This thing is now an overpriced regular soundbar (no smart capabilities, no Alexa). What a junk of junk. Lasted me 30 days which is past Best Buy's return period. I'm sorry I was a sucker and bought into this soundbar.

Simple and powerful sound bar with Alexa

Polk, a known maker of quality audio equipment, has created a kit for the home that is both simple and fully featured. Most of us want high-quality sound without having to also buy multiple cables and spend lots of time setting up a complex system. Amazon’s Alexa has been added to the Polk Audio Command Sound Bar. The small limitations it has now, should be fixed by Amazon in future software updates. One feature I noticed which was not ready was sound bar to Echo messaging. I enjoyed that my experience with movies, TV series and Bluetooth audio devices have all been impressively upgraded with a sound bar and subwoofer. 260W of total output power pumps out high-quality sound, which is very important to me. Placing it below the TV on a table or mounting it on a wall gives this sound bar versatility that other more complicated home audio solutions do not have. Its 2” design is enough to leave a small gap between where my TV is in my living room. A pair of HDMI ports on the back, a slot for an Amazon Fire TV unit, a USB port, and an HDMI out for the TV, all help to keep down on cable clutter. Polk placed the tweeters in the sound bar at either end with the more powerful center channel drivers in the middle, where they belong. Most audio from movies and TV shows are center channel heavy. This single sound bar produces an impressive home theater like experience. I am happy with both the audio and Alexa voice assistant experiences. Getting them to work correctly on the first try was impressive. Polk understands how we need to keep things simple.

The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free. Years ago, before we lived in our current house, we had a sound system in the living room. It was nice, having a booming speaker presenting crystal clear audio. And then we moved, and like all things when you move, parts go missing. A few months later our daughter was born, and it just didn’t seem like we had time to find all the wiring for a complicated surround sound system. We were just listening to TV audio again. Now don’t get me wrong, most TVs these days have decent speakers. But they just don’t compare to the quality of a dedicated speaker. Five years passed before we finally got another dedicated speaker system for a TV in our house. The Polk Command Bar’s quality as a speaker is worth its price alone. Yet, it does more than just act as a speaker for your television. The Command Bar has Amazon Alexa built in. We have set up our Command Bar in our bedroom, allowing us to control the volume through Alexa. It also allows us to do other things like turning off WiFi enabled lights downstairs without the need to make an extra trip at night. These cards come with the Polk out of the box, and provide a good primer on how to use the speaker. The Polk Command Bar features a 220W speaker along with a subwoofer that gives a nice bass sound. It also has Bluetooth enabled, allowing us to play our music through our phones if we want. If you happen to have a FireTV you can do even more by using voice commands to watch your favorite programs. (Like the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel! Just a suggestion.) It also features a far-field microphone. What is a far-field microphone? Well, to put it simply, it is a microphone that has been designed to pick-up noises from a distance greater than what a typical microphone could accomplish. Because of this, you don’t need to shout across the room! The on-board Alexa will activate just by speaking in a normal voice. The set-up was simple, using HDMI and a supplied optical cable to connect to the television. The speaker has a low-profile form factor which is perfect because it doesn’t block our screen at all. It also looks sleek, fitting in nicely in our bedroom.

Creating Magic in Your Home Theater

One of the most important components to a decent home theater is sound. The Polk Command Bar with Amazon Alexa Built-in gives your home theater the top quality sound you need. The Polk Command Bar consists of two parts, the soundbar itself, and a stand-alone subwoofer. The subwoofer is designed to connect wirelessly to the soundbar, eliminating the need for a wired connection. This lets you place both components in optimum locations without worrying about the connection. I especially love that Amazon’s Alexa is already built in. This Alexa is just about as fully functional as the dedicated units from Amazon, with only room to room messaging and a couple other items not implemented. And even those are coming with future updates as Amazon continues to empower third-party solutions. The Polk Command Bar is simple to hook up, whether you are using it with a cable and TV or another source. I used it with an Apple TV, and everything worked great. There is a TV HDMI output, saving you the expense of splitting the HDMI output from a cable box. I definitely recommend the Polk Command Bar, not only for a great sound solution for your home theater, but it can serve as a home hub and information system as well.

This Command Bar is easy enough for everyone in the family to interface with. The other features of the Polk Soundbar are impressive: - 260W total output power provides quality sound for our favorite movies, shows, games and music. - The four-speaker enclosure features two 1-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ mid/woofers and two 1″ tweeter drivers. - Music streaming is available through a compatible Bluetooth-enabled device. - The design is slim and streamlined. The bar sits only 2” tall so it won’t block your TV screen. - Along with the 2 HDMI inputs, there is a Toslink and a built-in USB port. The HDMI ports are designed and spaced to fit Fire TV and other wide HDMI streaming devices. The USB port also powers original and 4K versions of Fire TV. Outputs are also HDMI. - A remote is included for easy operation from a distance.

Sound is good, including from the wireless subwoofer. Easy to set up, though had to get an converter to connect optical audio input on soundbar to coax audio on TV (not a big deal, my TV is older). A few downsides, all minor: 1) Soundbar makes an audible announcement any time remote is used to change sound modes. (e.g. saying out loud "movie mode") 2) Soundbar only responds to the remote if you are sitting at least kind of in front of the soundbar and aiming at the center of the soundbar. (may not matter much to many people) 3) Soundbar REALLY wants to be connected to an Amazon account to enable Alexa features, and complains every few days with an audible announcement. So annoying, and cannot be turned off. 4) App from Polk is only useful for connecting soundbar to an Amazon account. If you want Alexa capabilities, then this soundbar would likely be a good choice.

This is one high-quality product with a sleek, stylish design that looks great next to our main television in the living room. My favorite thing about the Polk Command Sound Bar is how Alexa is integrated into it. The audio quality is top-notch - I truly felt like I was surrounded by the sound! I have a newborn baby, and he's been enjoying listening to Mozart baby classical songs. It was too inconvenient to try to play audio through my television while I was juggling baby care, but now that I have this sound bar set up, it's amazingly easy to just tell Alexa to turn on the classical music.

Setup for the Polk Command Bar was simple and done in less than 15 minutes, by far, one of the easiest setups I've ever dealt with. The soundbar and subwoofer offer 260 watts of power and provide awesome clarity and bass! We felt like we were at the football game while watching our favorite team play. It even freaked my cat out as she tried to figure out where all the voices were coming from. We love the hands-free Alexa feature and refer to our Spotify playlist often. We are still learning the commands and questions we can give/ask but we're getting the hang of it! So far, we have enjoyed it for movies, music, sports, and asking about our weather. We'll be adding our Fire TV to it soon!! It also comes with a remote that offers simple functions like turning the Alexa mic off or increasing/decreasing the voice or bass sounds. So far it's a big hit and I can't wait until we have friends over to show them. Our family highly recommends it!

The sound quality is pretty good and having Alex is a very nice touch. I'm a huge gamer and it makes the games sound 10X better than standard/ built-in TV speakers. There are two reasons that I gave this product 4 out of 5 Stars. I had a lot of problems connecting Alexa to my internet router. After several hours of attempting to connect, I ended up having to hold my phone literally 2 inches from the router. It has worked ever since. I would recommend this soundbar for a bedroom or small family room. However, when placed in a really large space the sound quality isn't up to par with the $600+ sound system. Overall Good Buy at a Fair Price.

I am no huge audiophile and only began using a sound bar a couple of years ago however, the Polk Command Bar delivers great sound and access to Alexa thanks to the embedded Amazon Echo Dot. Even my wife, who admittedly does not notice the difference between HD and 4K has noticed the improved sound. This is a great addition to a simple home theater setup and I use this with both our Samsung 4K UHD TV and our Xbox One S console.

This sound bar is awesome. I used the HDMI connection from my TV to the sound bar and that's it. My Samsung TV automatically recognized the device and controls the volume perfectly. The initial setup required an app on my phone to connect it to the Wi-Fi and my Amazon Alexa account This thing is loud and sounds great! Perfect for our bedroom. I was able to get rid of my old sound bar, echo dot, a mixer, and a whole bunch of wires. It comes with a remote, but you don't really need to use it regularly. A lot of thought must have went into the design and how the device operates. Even when you mute it from the TV remote and give it an Alexa command, Alexa responds, and the TV sound automatically comes back after without having to un-mute it. It picks up the Alexa wake word well even when music or the TV is playing. I played a demonstration video from YouTube on my TV through the sound bar and the word Alexa coming from the soundbar does not trigger Alexa to wake unintentionally. This thing works really well. I highly recommend it.

I was looking for something to go with the new TV As we all know soundbars are expensive, this Polk was an open box so the price was right. Easy to set up if you know what you'r doing. I have trouble with the system working all the time with the cable remote. I am happy with the sound quality, Movies sound so much better, just wish TV commercials would stay the same volume as the TV program I'm watching. As for music, I give this a 7 out of 10. Alexa works well on this.
