Set up and instructions were easy to follow.
I was looking forward to reviewing this product, if not for the simple fact that it is made by Polk.
Set up was easy, an HDMI (Included) set up Wi-Fi, plug on both units to the wall and you are good-to go.
My watch TV & Movie’s through my Amazon Firestick. I have that connected one of the HDMI 1/HML port and the Polk MagniFi Mini to the HDMI 2/ARC port on the back of my TV.
Both my Firestick remote and the Polk remote work to adjust volume and a have on screen display.
The Displayed volume is choppy / delayed, but I don’t know if that is a TV issue or soundbar issue. Not a big deal either way. Using the power button on my firestick will power on my TV and the sound bar.
You do get Bluetooth connection which is nice to control your music from your phone.
It also has available, optical, aux. and USB connection along with Wi-FI.
As quick overview, below are my pros and cons.
Pros:
• Nice look
• Easy controls (both on unit and remote)
• Nice visual LED read out on the speaker.
• Sound fields
• Dolby Atmos and DTS X
• Connection Options
• Loud
Cons:
• Hollow sound, Lacks Depth
•
I'll start off by saying this is a very compact unit, so maybe I am expecting too much.
Overall, I am a bit disappointed at the overall sound quality for the price point.
I will say the MagniFi Mini AX gets very loud and fills the room surprisingly well for its size. You get pretty good bass as well, but the middle tones like the voices sound hollow to me. I have small compact Bluetooth speakers that have cleaner sound quality in the mid-tones.
I do like the fact that you can adjust the base and the voice on the remote. The ability to enhance the voice is a nice option and I find it helps with some viewing.
Music has good bass and higher tones are fine, but the mids, again have a lack of depth.
My final thoughts, If you are limited to space and need a small surround bar that will greatly improve your audio experience over the standard TV speakers, then it might be worth a look. It does look very nice and will fit in a tight space. (14.5” wide)
However, I will say the prev. model (Magnifi Mini) is about half the cost, and the only thing I can see changed was adding Atmos support.
For me, since I am a bit of an audio snob, I would continue to look for other options at this price level.

MagniFi Mini AX Atmos with Wireless Subwoofer is a tiny system with powerful sound for movies and music audiophiles. It might not make the same sound of the professional grade of speakers and effect, but considering the size of sounder and connected to wireless mode to subwoofer deliver quite great experience as regular user I am.
From the box, it is simple sysmte, just couple of cables, the sound bar and subwoofer. I did tow type of connections:
1 Paired directly to Apple TV via bluetooth;
2. Connect to WiFi to play AirPlay.
With connection to the streaming device, watched Mission Impossible Fall out, and 5 Underground. From the first movie, where there is chasing the motorcycle and police cars sounding its engine from far rear to the front as approach to the motorcycle, the crunching noise can feel all way around in the room. Similarly in 5 underground, in the almost in the beginning the car chasing happen, can feel dynamically changing from far rear to left front and so on.
It makes the movie watching experience quite immersive, naturally this is with movie streaming with Dolby Atmo or DTS. Similar effect with 5.1 although I could feel something a bit missing or not same.
Regarding control and options from the remote control, it is standard, volume for voice, bass, and general, then separate control for surrounding speakers, these aside of standard functions.
But two key functions found practical and useful, Sound and Delay Sound. The Sound provide option to select between 5 modes, Movie, 3D, Night, All Channel, Music. These preset function are practical as I didn’t have to be changing differently depending on what I am watching and during what moment of the day/night.
Then the delay sound, I haven’t tried, but its intention sound novel to help to sync between the talking speed from the show and the speaker.
Then only downside I see is that the system is not compatible with existing Polk Surround Systems SR that comes for 5.1 system., and have to buy new pair. But this is only for those who might be using 5.1 system and need to upgrade to one that support Airplay.
The system support chrome cast aa well. But as this writing only used with iOS system.
In short and again, it deliver nice movie, music and tv experience in a small package that support airplay and chrome cast, practical to use for regular users.

Fantastic speaker with easy setup. Went with the Wirecutter review from The New York Times. As hoped for, it has big sound across the whole spectrum. If you specifically want to stick with a compact soundbar, this is the way to go and, unlike with smart speakers, you can expect easy plug and play functionality with a range of devices.

I needed something for a small apartment that did not take up too much space, could handle surround for movies, bluetooth for my music streaming and also could handle my turntable. Above all, it had to sound good. Luckily, I saw some reviews of this and found it in stock. It does all of these tasks amazingly well and I am shocked by how much surround is there on movies and shows even without the optional surround speakers which I don't really have a place for anyway. It will not rattle the windows, but that is probably great for my neighbors and I am not listening at movie theater levels anyway. For what it is meant to be, it probably deserves 5 stars, but I will give it 4 even comparing to my full size systems that cost a boatload more.

I upgraded my home entertainment setup with the Polk Surround System, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This system truly deserves a five-star rating for its outstanding performance and user-friendly design.
Firstly, the ease of use is unparalleled. Setting up the system was a breeze, thanks to clear instructions and intuitive controls. Everything I needed to customize my audio experience was conveniently located on the top of each speaker, making adjustments effortless.
The sound quality is exceptional, delivering crisp highs, rich mids, and deep, punchy bass. Whether I'm watching movies, listening to music, or playing video games, the immersive audio experience enhances every moment.
Despite its compact size, this surround system packs a powerful punch. The speakers may be small, but they deliver big, room-filling sound that rivals larger, more expensive systems.
One standout feature is the option to expand the system to a 5.1 surround setup by purchasing additional side speakers. This flexibility allows users to tailor the system to their specific needs and preferences, making it suitable for any room size or listening environment.
In conclusion, the Polk Surround System is a top-notch choice for anyone in search of high-quality audio performance in a user-friendly package. With its easy-to-use functions, impressive sound quality, compact size, and expandability, it's a true standout in the world of home audio. Highly recommended.

This won't blow your windows out, but it WILL impress you. In our smaller living room, 15x13, this is MORE than enough to fill the room. The clarity is very good, and the volume is plenty! Placing the subwoofer on the same wall as the TV works great with the couch in the opposite wall, per the manual's recommendation. In addition to the main/master volume there is also a sub volume and a voice volume. The voice volume seems to affect voice range frequencies on the "center" channel, and it works well. IMHO this is way better than other sound bars in this price range, and most costing double. Money well spent!

Major improvement over the TV speakers I had grown accustomed to. Its compact design looks nice on my stand but did cause 1 minor inconvenience. If your TV has a relatively short stand like mine does, the height of the bar may block a signal receiver that is low on the screen. I had to move my bar down one shelf to avoid this. That is my one very minor very manageable gripe with it being a little taller than most soundbars.

Voice Clarity and Great Sound for Main TV

I have been looking for a replacement for my wall-mounted speakers and wanted a cleaner look for my living room. I noticed this system had a wireless subwoofer and had a smaller footprint than my current one, which had a little too much bass for watching TV.
Set up was easy, but I realized the soundbar required the use of the HDMI eARC connection, which meant I could not use my receiver to connect my other peripheral to the TV. I have an original Nintendo and used the receiver to update the connection to a HDMI connection. I will be looking for an alternative way to connect now.
I did have a small issue trying to add the speaker to Google home, but after a couple tries, it was able to be added. After the connection was established, I noticed the speaker automatically received an update. This system also has multiple streaming and connection options, basically any connection you can imagine.
The sound is not as robust as my wired speakers via a receiver, but the sound was much clearer and I was able to hear dialogue on movies and TV shows, which I had a difficult time with before. I also noticed the sound filled the room more evenly than my old setup did. This is definitely a winner for sound from a frequently watched TV.
Pros
Great clear sound
Good bass for size
Multiple ways to stream/connect (Airplay, Chromecast, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Spotify Connect)
Clear dialog in movies/TV
Cons
Cannot connect to a receiver
I would highly recommend this system for anyone who has a difficult time hearing clear conversations in films and shows and finds themselves rewinding a scene or turning on closed captioning. This soundbar/subwoofer combo is meant for frequent use and is more appropriate for a main TV, not a theater room.

There is much to love about this item. The sound quality from such a tiny speaker is insane. The volume and range of the sound is loud and good enough that my roommate from upstairs says that he can hear the dialogue from movies and the sound very clearly. For reference, we live in about a 2,000 sq ft house.
And because the speaker and subwoofer connect wirelessly in addition to the small size of both, this is very suitable for smaller spaces.

We were looking to improve the audio experience of watch ing television for entertainment and pleasure and this sound bar certainly filled the bill. It's got great sound and very little configuration set up. It seems to do everything just as expected. I'm not going to spend any time expounding on the tech specs. Just suffice it to say it works great! And you'll probably be pleased too!

Do not let the size fool you. This Polk soundbar is the real deal when it comes to sound! It’s very dynamic & cohesive when paired with the sr2 surrounds. The bass is a little overwhelming because it is tiny compared to others in its price range but it does give you that oomph when needed but it is never ground shaking. The only down side I have is the 1 hdmi output that every manufacturer seems to do.

Great sound in a small package. Definitely an upgrade from the tv speakers. Ended up with this model to go with a more minimal look. Not the best sound out there, but best in class for the size for sure. Love the chromecast addition to it, which helps minimize cords. My only ding is the add on speakers for this unit doesn’t add a whole lot to your experience. Just buy this and don’t add on.
