    Easy to Use, Fantastic Sound

I love this speaker! We got the Polk Omni for our bedroom/master bathroom and the sound is just as good as the huge stereo system we have in the living room! Despite the small size, the volume can be as loud as we want and is controlled from my phone so I don't have to walk over to the speaker every time I want to turn it up or down. Setting it up was super easy, (just one plug) and I'm not very tech savvy. You just download the app, choose bluetooth and the speaker is automatically hooked up to wi-fi - it's pretty fast and I had music going in no time! I'm thinking about getting another one for our kitchen and living room so I can control most of the house from one place (my phone!). Highly recommend.

    This is an update!

So I have had these four speakers about 8 months. There is no denying they sound very good and the price is reasonable. BUT you better be in love with the way they sound because you can not alter the settings. I will predict POLK will post a comment apologizing for my experience and encouraging me to call Tech Support. There is at any one time one "LONE RANGER" person to take calls and even though they promise you "Concierge Service" I have waited over 45 minutes. They cannot always resolve your issues, and offer that "we're trying our best!" When you turn the speakers off they do not return to the same volume level you left them at. There seems to be a default volume setting they always revert to. They will at any time without warning fall off-line with the router or will not connect at all. I have a VERY open one story floor plan with the Verizon Fios router centrally located, that should not be presenting any range issues for these Wi-Fi speakers. Polk offered to assist me with this by sending me an additional Belkin router - which caused me SO MANY PROBLEMS. First of all the Polk and the Belkin power adapters are oriented sideways so they each took up three outlets on my power strip. I had to buy another power strip to accommodate them. Then utilizing an additional router means I cannot use the Wi-Fi Play on my computer because the computer and the speakers have to be on the SAME router. Then the two routers kept interfering with each other causing log-on failures. Finally the Verizon Fios repair tech came to my home and installed a Wi-Fi extendert just for the Polk speakers, so I was able to get rid of the additional Belkin router, but the power adapter from the Polk speaker still took up three outlets. Availability of music choices is extremely limited! I cannot get Calm Radio or many more of the other stations that Polk has been unable to get agreements with. I was having an outpatient procedure and my doctor has Sonos in the exam rooms - he was able to get whatever station I wanted! I don't believe this product should have been launched until it was fully functional. It seems they are using consumers to test these speakers and suffer through all of the little quirky bugs. Updates do not offer much improvement to make up for it. For the almost $500 I have invested in the speakers and peripherals I'm not feeling it was such a good choice after all.

    Great sound, flawed connection

I bought 4 of these for my upstairs area. 2 in the living room, 1 in the dining room and 1 in the kitchen. I will be returning ALL of them. PRO: Sound is great! Albeit, a bit too much bass and you cannot adjust it. I can live with the bass. BIG CON: Speaker will randomly disconnect and reconnect. At one point, I lost connection to all 4 speakers. I had to reset each and every speaker to get it to reconnect.

    Outstanding Technology and Sound

I am very impressed and pleased with the quality of these speakers. Not only is the sound rich, full, and room-filling, but the technology that is used to control the speakers is outstanding. The Polk Omni application that is used to set up the audio connection between your phone, speakers, and wireless network is extremely easy to use. The total time spent during set up was around five minutes, which included the download time of the app itself onto my Android phone. Once set up, I have spent a lot of time and had a lot of enjoyment controlling these speakers with the touch of a finger to my phone, as it seems almost futuristic to be able to do so. The Omni app also has plenty of options for which type of audio I want to hear, whether it is music that I already have on my phone or a channel that I like from Pandora. Most impressively, I’ve really enjoyed the option to search out terrestrial radio stations from throughout the world, as I have easily been able to find and listen to the radio stations that I grew up hearing in the Midwest. The app also has an option to seek out internet based podcasts as well. The absence of multiple wires and compact size is a huge benefit in my book, as extra space in my home is hard to come by. There is no extra clutter with multiple wires when I have the speakers set up in my office, which reduces the time spent when I choose to move the speakers to another area of my home. Lastly, the speakers come set up with a black grill cover, but include an additional white one. I really like the option of being able to switch the physical look of the speakers themselves. Since I plan on having these for quite some time, this is an added bonus to be able to blend the unit with the rest of my belongings based on the current décor.

Don't waste your money or time. They take forever to setup and they don't stay connected. Returned and bought the Sonos sound bar and rear speakers. Way better quality and 20x easier to connect.

We were led to believe that we could use these speakers to create a 3-1 wireless system with our Polk Sound Bar. They can only be used to stream music not connect with our CD player.

    Polk Omni s2

I love having high quality sound in my home. (polk audio - Check) I love being able to have the songs come straight from my phone to my speakers wifi & not bluetooth technology is a huge win here because I hate running wires through the house... and bluetooth distance is severely limited. This is an awesome product that way. Legitimately... you could purchase one of these for each room in your home, and completely set them up and working without running any cables (except the power cables - the one thing I like less than running cables is buying batteries.) in less than an hour. It takes the professional home audio install professional out of the equation. I consider myself an audiophile... my headphones are molded to my ears and are in the 4 figures in cost... so when I think of home audio, I need to have flat out killer sound reproduction... and that's Polk.... but to now have the convenience of that audio to run through their app...without wires... too cool. If you're looking for a wireless solution to home audio, this is a great product.... Stereo makes a big difference in this area and the others speakers like this bypass this important attribute. And as with just about everything else they do, these look great too. So yeah, I guess you could say I recommend them...

RAVING FAN OF THE POLK S2!

I have a couple Sonos speakers and a Bose to compare with the Polk, and the S2 more than held it's own based on sound quality and then simply blew the competition away when I compared pricetags. I've had this speaker for about a month now. The sound quality of the S2 is AWESOME and easily fills a room with crisp and clear music with particularly impressive bass quality coming from such a small speaker. I also use it in the backyard when entertaining and it performs admirably. A great looking speaker with simplistic design - It comes with a black and white faceplate to swap out based on preference. The Polk app was easy to install on my phone and tablet, and is just as easy to operate. My 8 year old son asked me if he could set the app up on the tablet after I put it on my phone and he was able to do it without any help! Now he wants an S2 for his room. I think I see more of these in our future! Thanks Polk! I highly recommend this product.

I am very pleased with the quality and affordability of the Polk Omni S2 speaker. For a non-tech savvy mother, this speaker was extremely simple and quick to set up and use with my iphone and Pandora stations. This speaker emits terrific sound quality and a very loud volume capability in the large ‘ x ‘ room that I use it in. It far exceeds the Bose wireless speaker I was previously using and the technology is superb to that of the Bluetooth technology in many other wireless speakers. I plan to purchase another Polk Omni speaker for another area of the home. However, I will likely purchase the S2R with the rechargeable batteries. The only downside to the S2 is that it must be plugged into the wall. On a positive note, the sleek design looks nice on my counter and has a black or white face plate. A very practical and versatile wireless speaker!

    Buyer Beware

I will admit. These speakers sound better then sonos. But you will be so frustrated by them that you will hardly get to appreciate that sound. The software that these speakers use is DTS playfi, and it is terrible. There is very limited support with apps so you better be ok with just using Pandora all the time. Also all of the polk omni products I have owned constantly remove themselves from the wifi network. I am at a point now that none of my speakers will reconnect to my network after hours and hours of trying. And no, there is no issue with my network. I have a nighthawk router and have a marantz receiver and chromecast audio that do wifi just fine, not to mention streaming from my smart tv. So I am left with hundreds of dollars of useless audio, and hours of wasted time. So frustrating. And be warned.

    It's no Sonos...

I was hoping the Polk Omni S2 would be a cheap Sonos alternative but it was lacking in a few key areas. Pros Sounds great - disclaimer: I'm not a sound engineer Easy setup - Played music on phone and media server in minutes Play the same music from multiple speakers App on the computer works like an output so any sound can be played (spotify, youtube etc) but there is a delay so it won't work for gaming or videos (at least not for me). Cons Had to leave the app running on computer or phone (so my battery drained fast) Couldn't be controlled by different apps at the same time (my wife couldn't play/pause or adjust the volume if I started playing the music Can't play from many music services from phone yet (no spotify, google music) I made a video review if on YouTube if your interested... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Jgo18YPxYM

    Good product, dismal setup

I bought a set of Omni S2 speakers and an A1 amp. The end result was impressive but getting there was painful. The product documentation is woefully inadequate and the controller software (Android in my case) setup isn't well documented to help the user troubleshoot. I'm a stubborn type so eventually got everything working and I was impressed with the outcome, but at one point I had pulled all the boxes and packaging together to pack up the equipment for return when I decided to give it another try and things started to click several hours after I started the process. Good product but expect to encounter problems when setting up.

Pros: Easy install Cons: can't adjust bass and there's way too much on all speakers Sound bar vibrates under TV and sounds like a buzzing Try to use the help button on the app to search for cures only to get a notice telling me that I can only make one search every 15 seconds. really? No wall mount system if you want to put one up high. I have one in every room and found a delay between speakers so in sound echo-y often. The update to the app improved its appearance and usefulness, on an upside. They need to keep working on this system. The issue with the bass feedback is the biggest complaint.

    Good sound but terrible software

The Polk Omni S2 has good sound quality but the software is terrible. Technical support is nonexistent. Half the time, the speakers will not show up and need to be unplugged and reset. Sent several emails to tech support and never received any help. First reply was "Wow, never heard of that. Will have to get back to you." Never got back so sent second email. No response so sent third email. Finally someone responded saying that "firmware will be updated soon so hang in there." Firmware update did not fix the problems. Can't believe Polk would sell such a poor product.

    Excellent Speakers

We recently bought a pair of Polk S2 speakers for the kitchen. They were easy to set up and sync over wi-fi using my iPhone--super easy to pair the speakers. The sound was room-filling, loud and clear with great bass. Big, big improvement over our kitchen computer speakers. My kids loved them, too. They loved that we could move the speakers wherever we wanted to. They also love how they can control the music from their own devices (and easily swap control between devices). We will definitely be adding to our collection of S2s, but plan to pick up the Sound Bar next.

...and the bathroom...and the laundry room. Yeah, grabbed this along with the S2R and the sound bar setup. This speaker is actually a stereo pair in one little box. The sound that comes out of this thing is beyond impressive. It rattles dishes in the cabinets and will shake screws right off the work bench. It goes everywhere in the house. Just plug it in, connect it to your wireless network and play whatever you want through the app on your phone. Pandora follows me around all over the house. Until somebody doesn't like what I'm playing and they hijack it with their phone! Comes in handy when I want to listen to a game that is on the TV in the room with the sound bar. I just add this speaker to the list for that source and all of a sudden I'm listening to the Cowboys' game while making dinner! It's a stellar performer and is a total blast to have around. It's so unassuming too that company never knows where the sound is coming from.

INCREDIBLE SOUND for a truly great price!!!

INCREDIBLE SOUND for a truly great price!!! I just set up a new Polk Omni S2 wireless speaker in our master bedroom and couldn’t be more impressed or pleased. My wife and I had been looking at getting a wireless speaker unit for our room and had considered a Sonos unit, but the Polk S2 speaker offered FULL stereo unlike the more expensive, yet mono, Sonos Play 1 unit. Earlier in the year, I had installed a set of Polk Hampden speakers downstairs and really loved their sound. The Polk S2 is much smaller than the Hampden’s, but that is what we needed for our bedroom space which has very high volume ceilings to fill but limited places to put a speaker. The setup was really easy...I literally took it out of the box, plugged it in, downloaded the free Polk Omni app on my wife's iPad (and my iPhone), linked it with our Wi-Fi, and started playing from our Pandora Account. The cool thing about the Wi-Fi hookup, or what Polk calls “Play-Fi”, it that the distance your speaker is from the source is only limited by the reach of your Wi-Fi. You can patch in other Polk Omni speakers anywhere in the house or yard that is covered by your Wi-Fi and play from one source. The Omni S2s have integrated rubber isolation pads for horizontal or vertical placement, and Polk even included a white grill to interchange with the black grill depending on your décor. Of course, the best part about this little speaker is that unbelievable “Polk” sound. It produces a crystal-clear, silky-smooth, full range “3D – like” sound…with rich bass to bell-like high tones.

Just hooked up two of these. Incredible sound and way smooth set up. I expected it to take an hour, and it was only 10 minutes. Me and the kids had a dance party with Pandora. The sound is big and loud. I got the bonus free white grill too. I am pretty sure there will be more zones added soon. Highly recommend.
