    Has Great Intentions...........

Ok, I would like to start out that I purchased this because I'm curious about the whole networked speaker systems. The unit is very small and has some weight to it, id assume so as it has the amplifier and the two speakers all in one little package. The Set up was really easy and I had the unit connected to my network in about 5 minutes. We had a busy Saturday out of the house and I decided to let the speaker "burn In" so I set it at about half volume and started a play list, 8 hours later the speaker has a decent tone to it and nice clean vocals. The bass isn't all that great but good..... until you start to push the volume and then you get a distortion. Through the weekend of on again and off again listening, i'm going to return this unit to Best Buy, I now have what sounds like a blown speaker, really heavy rattling from the bottom left speaker. I figured that this unit would be able to handle the volume, but I'm only about 16 listening hours in and this thing is already Dead. I'm not getting another one.

Recently added the S2 to my household collection of speakers and I'm already hooked. I look forward to adding more Polk Omni pieces in more rooms, and maybe get an Omni amp too. Once the S2 was setup it has been pretty much plug and play. It's mostly been living in our bedroom where I've been reading and listening at the same time. For the price you can't go wrong. And it has better range and cleaner sound than most other wireless (whether Bluetooth or AirPlay) speakers in the Omni S2's range.

    Excellent Wireless Speaker

I was looking for a wireless speaker to replace an old system wired to my computer that included a bulky subwoofer. This seemed to fit the bill according to the literature. I was looking for something that would pick up any computer audio. The blue shirt we spoke to in the store said that this would only work with supported music apps (Pandora, iHeart, etc). He indicated that we would need something on the line of the Sonos system to do what we wanted to do. I purchased this anyway since most of my listening is through iHeart while I'm working from home. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the information I received at the store was incorrect. Once the app was loaded to my PC and set up I found that the speaker picks up any audio generated from my computer regardless of the source. The sound is beautiful.

Great Speakers, Abysmal App and Interface

*This review is for two of these speakers placed in separate rooms being run on an Android Phone.* Pros: Excellent quality with the two speakers being able to fill my entire first floor with dynamic and euphoric sound. No stutter, lag, or connectivity problems once the speakers were setup. Cons: I wish that Polk had put as much time into their app and user interface as they did these speakers. First off, you can stream local mp3s from your phone, but there is NO SEARCH FUNCTION. Yes, so if you want to find that obscure indie track you only remember the first three letters of you need to scroll through the entire library which is extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, while you can stream through Amazon, there is NO SEARCH FUNCTION. Without a search function for local files and amazon and the lack of Youtube, this entire platform is severely limited. If any developers are looking at this, you need to add SEARCH FUNCTIONS so we can sift through our music....

Great alternative to the Sonos Play 1

I was looking for a speaker to use in the house along with the Echo Dot and found this on sale for $89. This is an excellent speaker. It was easy to set up and use. It should be noted that this model does not have Bluetooth connectivity, so an aux cable is required to use with Echo Dot. My speaker and Dot are staying in one place, so that wasn't a problem for me. Normally this speaker is priced similarly to the Sonos Play 1, and in that case, I would go with the Sonos. However, with the sale price, this is an excellent value.

    Awesome Speaker(s)

I wanted to put some speakers around the house to play some music, have the ability to move music to my backyard/deck, and let me tell you, I am 100% satisfied with these. This is my first experience with wireless speakers (non-bluetooth) so I do not know any different from other brands like Sonos, or Samsung. I bought three speakers, followed directions and everything works perfect, took me less than 1 minute to install each speaker on my WLAN. Then the App asked if I wanted to update my speakers and that took about 5 minutes to download and install. I can control all speakers (volume, enable/control, off/on) with my smartphone/tablet using the Polk App. I used Windows Media Player (WMP) as a media Server and configured WMP to allow the Polk S2 to stream from my PC. Also, if my another user only wants to listen to music in the kitchen the user can "take control" of that speaker and play the users music in the Kitchen only. Good deal at $99.00. I liked them so much I bought an extra one just to have.

    Awful wifi connection

I got the sound bar with the subwoofer. Then this speaker for the rear sound....my bedroom is about 12 ft in length. I connected the speaker about 3 times to the wifi and I could barely got it going that it would drop the connectivity within minutes. The sound is alright but the connectivity is awful. It is not a simple process to connect to the wifi. I bought a brand new top of the food chain router to get a good signal and still wouldn't stay connected. My router is about 15ft away from the speaker......I am returning this unit. It did not work for me. If I could return the whole Polk system I would return it completely....

    Wattage?

I am always suspicious when speaker manufacturers do not show wattage of their speakers. Was not impressed with the speaker and various wifi issues. Not very well thought out in my opinion. Back to BB they went.

I bought this in conjunction with my polk sound bar. Turns out these speakers only play music they do not sync with sound bar and play tv or movies or gaming. Speaker doesn't have any eq settings or dolby or dts settings. Very dissapointed.

    Can't handle the volume

We blew this speaker the 1st day we used it. After a few hours the base sounded like it had "rattled" something loose in the speaker. On the plus side the wifi was easy to set up

    Outdated and poor software

I thought I was buying a wireless Bluetooth speaker and the speaker does not work well for either. The speaker is not wireless, is must be plugged in at all times and not rechargeable. The bluetooth function is difficult to setup and only works for certain apps. Spotify will only work with the premium subscription and Youtube does not work at all. So, the speaker is not wirelss and the app software is basically useless and that makes the speaker very limited for any function and can only work within 6 feet of an outlet.
