Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the wireless connectivity, nostalgic feel, and compatibility of the GameCube Style Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch. They appreciate that it resembles the original GameCube controller and works well for playing Super Smash Bros. However, some customers are disappointed by the lack of rumble and the fact that it runs on AA batteries.

Despite my initial 2 star rating I really do love this controller. However, this controller has some glaring flaws that really need to be taken into consideration before you purchase. The good?: ·It's recognized by the system as a pro controller instead of a GameCube controller, and has all the extra buttons you need to use it with any game on the switch! ·Same motion control functionality as a pro controller. ·Feels perfect in the hands, just the right amount of weight. ·Face buttons and joysticks feel identical to the original. ·Much better d-pad compared to the original GameCube controller! The really bad: ·This is the big one. Triggers are not analog, and despite the item descriptions claim at being the best option for smash, the lack of analog simply makes this controller obsolete when it comes to playing smash seriously(very dissapointing, PowerA!) ·Non rechargable batteries in 2019? I could live without it IF it had analog triggers, but this just feels like excessive corner cutting. ·Zero rumble functionality on a $50 controller, again it's 2019 guys. ·Lack of built in battery means no USB port for any PC use, unlike the regular pro controller(not massive but still!) Is it terrible? No. Is it worth the $50 price tag? No. This is a seriously missed opportunity that just fails due to poor design choices likely in favor of cutting corners. I would honestly give this 5 stars if it had analog triggers and just ignore all the other flaws, but without them this barely justifies being worth half it's retail price(likely due to it being officially licensed, the price of that is pushed onto you.) I would honestly pay upwards of $100 for a proper functioning GameCube styled controller updated for a modern era, but this just isn't it.

Well put together controlling that has a great nostalgia factor. Can be hard to connect, but a big step up from the standard controllers.

Can’t believe they brought back the game cube controller feels exactly like the real og one. would 100% recommend my favorite purchase for the switch so far the only thing I wish they would’ve did differently is add a rechargeable cable instead it runs on batteries witch sucks but still great

This is a very good controller for playing on your Nintendo switch. I use it to play online on SSBU and I haven't experienced any issues. this controller has the advantages of adding the buttons you need to use for regular switch games and home and capture buttons. the sticks have the click button as well. The pad is bigger than the original Gamecube controller which is a good feature. The gyro functions very well and I use it for several games that support it. I use it at about 6 ft from my switch and it has never lost connection from my switch. The only things I don't like about this controller are that it doesn't support Rumble or Amiibo reading and it uses AA batteries.

We have 4 classic GameCube controllers that we've been using over the years, but we decided to try out these new ones for the Switch. We love the addition of the (+) / (-) button, the home button, and the freedom of wireless. The controllers feel very similar to the original GameCube controllers which is awesome. The wireless was super easy to connect to the Switch and the battery life seems to be holding up well.

The good: - works well! No issues - pairs with Switch easily and works with all switch games. - a good alternative (to the pro controller) to play Smash - it’s wireless The bad: - The plastic feels a bit cheap - needs AA batteries - the thumb sticks feel familiar to the original GameCube controller, but it’s not identical Overall: - I’d recommend this for someone wanting to play Smash with a wireless controller who doesn’t have any of the original GameCube controllers, nor the GameCube adaptor. (Or the wave bird)

It's a good controller a little bit lighter than the original GameCube controller i used to have. The buttons are good and feel like they wont break by smashing the controller's buttons. Have used it for about a month now the batteries are AA which i would've hoped for rechargeable we're in 2020 but they lasted about 3 weeks and a half of on and off playing.
