The PowerVision - PowerRay Wizard Underwater ROV Kit - White is a drone experience for the water enthusiast. From Fishing to Fish-finding, under water videos to underwater mapping, to playing Captain Nemo, this ROV let's you do it all and much more. One of the most impressive features of this kit is the hard-shell suitcase for carrying your PowerRay and all the accessories. Easy for travel and on-the-go water enthusiasts. The long battery life (up to 3 hours of underwater usage for me) was impressive. The photos and videos in 4k rock. It was challenging at first to learn the controls but I quickly got past the intimidation factor and began enjoying the underwater experience without getting my feet wet. The Fishfinder and attracter were interesting addons which will take more time to explore their use and functionality. PROS - Opens the underwater world to the drone flying experience - Long battery life - Tons of accessories - Form-fitted carrying case ensures equipment stays safe and secure CONS - Challenging to learn initially - The amount of accessories and gagets are a bit overwhelming at first This would be perfect of a sportsman or for entry level underwater photography/videography.

I have had this underwater wizard for some time now and have been waiting and waiting and waiting to use it. Not that there was anything wrong with the PowerRay. It arrived in perfect shape in an amazing luggage case that I can not wait to travel with. Unfortunately flooding in my region made travel nearly impossible and all local bodies of water were declared "Disaster Areas" in order to allow first responders and federal aid to assist those in need. However, with most of the water receding, and finally some good temperatures, I was able to take this underwater drone on an adventure! The very first thing that I noticed was that it is so easy to travel with this drone and all of its companion equipment. The suitcase with preformed material and lock make taking this thing anywhere a breeze! Once opening the case, every piece of equipment feels extremely solid and I had little doubt that this thing could hold up to my amateur piloting. Once at the lake, I had everything connected and ready to go in just a few minutes and literally (also accidentally) dropped this thing into the water from about 10 feet up. My stomach dropped has I was worried that I had just broken my new toy after waiting all this time. However, I am pretty sure that after the sound of the splash went away, all I could hear was the PowerVision PowerRay laughing at me, telling me that it could handle way more than that. After unlocking the Wizard and verifying that all my components were linked, we were on our way. Two things were immediately apparent once this drone started moving: 1) IT IS FAST & 2) IT HANDLES LIKE A ROAD RACE CAR. I loved chasing geese with this thing and taking it to any point withing the approximately 250 ft range of the tether. The fish finder was amazing and I even did some trolling for a fisherman nearby. Everyone within eye shot of the PowerRay seemed amazed by its capability, especially with the VR headset on. The only issues I had was it was a little difficult to get my sense of direction when the PowerRay was out of sight. I regularly found myself surfacing and looking for the spout of water to tell what direction I was going. If you live in a coastal region or are planning a trip to the Caribbean, this thing is a MUST HAVE. If you are land locked, like me, you will definitely still enjoy this if you enjoy the outdoors and/or fishing. The PowerRay is an amazing piece of equipment and I am now looking into their Egg drone. Go forth and Explore!

This thing is awesome!! Yes it takes a little time to get the hang of set-up and everything, but once you do it opens up a whole new world! The first thing that impressed me was the way this thing is packaged. The case in VERY well done. It has foam compartments for everything and you can tell that a lot of thought and effort went into designing just the case. It really got me excited to try it out. I downloaded the app and watched the videos and set out to test this thing out. Getting everything connected took a bit, but that's what we have kids for.... to help us old-timers assemble technology, lol! We went to the local Riverwalk where the river runs into the ocean to test this thing out, and the PowerRay drew a crowd right away! If there was one thing that made me nervous was the fact that there was no safety attachment in case the cord comes loose or pops off. This is something I plan on remedying with my some thin aircraft cable that I will attach to the cable that attaches to the unit. We did a little driving around by the pier trying to get the hang of driving this thing, and I have to admit it was a little tricky at first. Controlling the depth is a little challenging at first, but once you get the hang ot it, it is no problem at all. We first used the controller with my phone attached and the drone worked very well. That being said, it really comes to life when you start using the VR headset. It is such an immersive experience! My son really loved driving it around and seeing all of the stuff underwater. He said it made him feel like an underwater explorer. After the test, we dried everything off and packed it up. It was a breeze. Once home, I needed my son to extract the video and pictures and we had fun watching what we had done. At the end of the day, we were so impressed with this item. I can't wait to get this out on the boat and drive this thing around the reefs. This thing is superb!

    ROV of My Dreams

The weather and my schedule have not cooperated since the ROV arrived. I have not had a chance to take the ROV out for a thorough test run. While the WiFi receiver is splash proof, it is not water resistant nor waterproof. After discussing with support, BTW support is fantastic, it is probably a good idea to pack a plastic bag in the case for any potential rain events. I could not find the Vision+ app in the Google Play Store. I contacted support after discovering the link on the support site was dead going to the Play Store. They supplied the apk to me to side load. The tablet app was available and I could install it as a side load also. According to support, the Play Store issue will be resolved soon. *NOTE The app was readily available in the Apple App Store. The hardware is fantastic, but missing 2 KEY things. The bracket to hold the phone or tablet, in order to have it in tablet format, you need a small screwdriver to remove one of the phone grips to allow for a larger format to be held. Second, a larger screwdriver to put in the hole in the spool for the tether. This will allow for a quicker, easier deployment of the tether but also an easier way to reel it back in. I am looking forward to having more time in the near future to really test this puppy out. I am anxious for some good weather. I will post some videos online, maybe a second review. As I get videos done I will load them to you tube, just search for my user name that is same as here. I will also try and upload a video here with a review after a good dive session. Controls in the shallow water where the waves are breaking can be a learning experience. After you get paste the rough waters and get the sub deep enough, the controls are fantastic. There is a button to maintain the depth. You will still go up and down depending on your speed, but as you slow it will normalize. There is a spray (what I call it) mode when you are near the top of the water that is great for finding where the device is when it is out at a distance. Trust me, you will find it. The magnetic deployment of the weight is pretty neat. Just take the bait to where you are wanting it. Disable the electromagnet. One reel in from your rod and the bait detaches with the weight. Shopping list: precision screwdriver screwdriver plastic bag Here are the pro's and con's that I have noticed so far. I will add another review, if BB will allow it, after I get a few sessions done with a video upload. Pros --------- Suitcase is very nice. USB Type A on power brick to allow you to charge phone or tablet with the ROV. Lights are impossibly bright out of the water. Controller, sub, WiFi hub are all very well built. Not sure I would want to get the hub wet though. Support is fantastic. Contacted them on the Android app. They were open to suggestions and a pleasure to work with. Video and Photo are exceptional in or out of water. Spray mode to see where the craft is from a distance. A button to maintain depth. Fish finder and a lure deployment weight that is magnetically released. Cons --------- Android app is "item not found" in the play store using the link from the PowerVision web site. A work around is to download the Android Tablet app from the link on PowerVision site. Copy it to your phone and side load it. You may want to get the apk downloaded from Chrome browser desktop mode, I downloaded from Windows desktop so I could scan the apk. It was clean. Downloading in mobile browser mode failed for me the first time. Worked the next try. (Contacting support they sent me the current apk.) iPhone app is available.

I give 5 stars to the sub itself, but I want to say that getting the sub set up and downloading the app and registering and re registering, and getting an email pass code, and then resigning in and 2 emails from power vision just to get the app up and working is a royal pain. Plus power visions website is super slow... I would have thought it was locked up except the adds at the bottom of the page kept playing without any issues. But once the app was finally installed, and I read the quick start guide, I didn't have any troubles pairing my phone to the control hub wifi, I put the sub in the water and unlocked the motors, hit the dive stick and promptly soaked myself in water!! Those little motors are POWERFULL!!! It spit water in the air a good 4 or 5 feet maybe more. I cruised it around and checked out the controls for a bit. I dove it, surfaced it, checked the turning radius etc. It will turn on a dime if you don't throttle it fwd or reverse when turning... it will simply pivot right around just like an airborne drone will do. The camera looks really good but 2 things I wish... It would be nice if the pics and video would store on my phone instead of the sub, and it would be nice if the camera had a tilt up and down feature so I could take video above or below the sub instead of only straight in front. The LED lights on the front of the sub are super bright and can be adjusted to 5 different levels, or turned off completely which is nice. The app on the phone is complete enough that the sub can be ran from the touch screen by itself and the included controller isn't really needed, but I like the feel of the joysticks better when I'm driving it. Overall, once you get past the kinda complicated set up process and get it in the water and start playing around, it's a bunch of fun. I highly recommend it!

I’ve been interested in drones for a long time but haven’t had one yet… This is my first drone of any kind and I was very impressed with the quality and construction of everything, including the case it came in. The case looks like a nice hard sided carry on piece of luggage. Its lockable, and the inside the bag is all molded to fit each part of the drone snugly and safely. The bag is wheeled and has an extendable handle too, it really makes it easy to move it around. Out of the box, this thing feels solid and build quality is superb. I really like that I can charge EVERYTHING with the one cord… for me the less cords the better. Once it was charged up it was time to take it out! I have a big pond on my property that I was excited to try it out on, but had to wait a bit for the pond ice to melt as it was frozen over for winter. Connecting to the Wi-Fi went ok, although I watched a few videos of the setup process on YouTube first in the days I was waiting for the ice to melt on the pond so I could be more familiar with the process. Once I put it in the water and unlocked it, I started playing around with it… it takes a few minutes to get familiar with how this thing moves underwater, probably like it takes anyone to get used to flying/driving any drone… it definitely wasn’t hard or anything, it was fun to play with it and figure it out! I didn’t notice any lag in the controls for this, the images came in really clear! I’m not sue what I expected with an underwater drone/camera… I want sure how clear it would be because the water clarity is a bit of a variable… but I can say I’ve been very please so far and I am really impressed with it. I reeeeaaalllly wish I lived near the ocean, I think this would be awesome to try out in the clear blue water… I know that I’m definitely bringing this on my next beach vacation to try it out!

    WOW! A Fun Underwarter Drone

I have flown a drone a few times and this was a very similar experience. It comes in a great carry case. I was surprised how good it was packaged. The materials all feel solid and of good quality. After the initial charge I was ready to test it out. I used our neighborhood pool for the first test dive. There is a little bit of a learning curve but the controls respond similarly to those of a flying drone. Set up was quick and easy and the connecting cable feels very sturdy I do not feel like it will come off while the drone is underwater. In a pool I was not too worried but this would be important in the open water where it can be more difficult to see the drone from the boat. It responded well and I was very impressed with the camera quality. I agree with others that it helps if you download the app and watch any videos ahead of time so you are as prepared as possible for your first adventure into the water. Besides what else can you do while it is charging. I never thought I would enjoy an underwater drone but I am totally impressed and recommend this for anyone who enjoys the water and wants to do exploring while still in the boat.

Definitely not a toy, but rather, a high quality piece of video equipment with all sorts of potential applications - fun and professional ! After reading the manual back to front about a dozen times, I took mine to the river just to get to know it. I work in the IT field so I'm very much in tune with how to set up electronic gadgets like this - I have to admit that it took me roughly a half hour to pair up my phone and the drone - i'm sure that next time it will take much less effort. Picture was exceptionally clear, well, as clear as the river would let it be. I couldnt go into the deeper water because it got rather cloudy. I'm looking forward to being able to using this for fishing (includes a fish finder) and making some awesome underwater videos - this is a fantastic piece of technology !

I bought one and it broke after the first time I used it. Screen constantly freezes and disconnects and the drone is completely unstable under the water.
