Here's the deal. I've been working with computers for the past 20 years, and due to repetitive motion and bad ergonomics...I have bouts of metacarpal tunnel syndrome. Lately it started acting up again, so I took some reward certs and got a wireless Evoluent mouse. I had one years ago, while in California, but it was wired and it would get sweaty. this one is new & improved, glad to say. works like a charm, doesn't strain my hand or wrist. It's easily programmable, don't get sweaty, AND...on the bottom the base curves out just enough for your little finger to rest on. Despite the size and shape, I find that it isn't problematic moving the Evoluent mouse. (I still use a mouse pad but that's another story.) My one gripe is the price. When I went to make a purchase it was $106. Lucky me, I had $50 in Rewards certificates so it wasn't so bad. i understand the economics of it---a useful product for a smaller segment of the market--but eliminating the wired version and just selling the wireless would allow them to sell at a lower price. Just saying!

Totally love this product. I work a desk job and this vertically shaped mouse drastically reduced my wrist strain. It also comes with an extra side/floor piece that prevents your side pinky from rubbing against the table/pad and it really makes all the difference compared to other vertical mouse products out there. There are other features that this mouse has that I appreciate, such as the back/forward thumb buttons, which can come in handy if you work with lots of web pages. You can also adjust the speed of the cursor from the mouse itself (rather than going into the control panel settings every time you want to chage it). Best of all.. if you install the driver (free from the company website) you can customize all of buttons to your liking -- the driver is also needed if you want the bottom thumb button to have a function. I would highly recommend this item. Personally, it was a health investment that turned into something more. You really get what you pay for! PS. They also sell left-handed versions! :)

    Wrist pain gone!

I work in an office and the mouse is like my hand almost. I had a standard flat type mouse and I was really getting cramps and spams in my wrist. I wanted to try and see how the ergonomic mouse will differ, and oh, differ it did! My wrist pain is %90 gone, I'm not saying it'll be gone fully, because you're still overworking your hand and wrist by even holding a mouse for hours but it is at least at a much more anatomically natural stance. On top, it has a lot of buttons where you can program for cut, copy, paste, refresh, calculator etc... And there's even another software, which is by a developer, that can give much deeper button configuration option. Only one down side is that the it's not super responsive to small movements, it might need more hand travel than you'd expect when working in a super detailed area, but for regular use, it's more than capable to satisfact majority of the people. Overall, it'll prevent me from getting carpal tunnel and I don't need to stretch my wrist every hour.

I purchased this fairly expensive mouse to help with one of my co-workers with her carpal tunnel issues. Setting up the mouse was fairly simple. I just plugged in the USB dongle and her windows machine auto installed the drivers. There is also software made by the manufacturer that you can easily download from their website, which gives you the ability to program the mouse buttons for different clicks and tasks. The physical design was nice and was much more comfortable than using a horizontal mouse. Mouse performance was unaffected by the design and pointing is precise. It definitely has a different feel than a traditional mouse, but my co-worker says her wrist issues are benefiting from the ergonomic design.

I am a video editor and I have to be in the computer for long hours, I had been using a regular mouse for a long time when suddenly I started feeling pain in my hand one day, I didn't know what to do and I couldn't stop working because the deadline of my projects where approaching, so I looked up for ergonomic mouses and according to the reviews I thought this was the most appropiate for me, I use a Retina Mac book pro and it was easy to install, I just Plug it in and it ran smoothly. It is a little bulky but as long as it keeps my hand safe from pain, I am ok with it. Great buy so far!

though this mouse was a little on the small side for me and I had to order the larger sized one from Amazon, which isn't carried by BestBuy, I highly recommend it. I was getting severe wrist pain from using my normal old school mouse and after using this it went away. There is a sizing chart on Amazon for the different sizes of this mouse. I'm guessing if you wear a medium sized glove this would work for you but I where extra large and needed a bigger one. This is still a great product.

I've been using Evoluent mouse for 6 years now and it's the only one that doesn't make my wrist hurt. It's a weird feeling at first because of the vertical design but it didn't take long to get used to it. I also like the programmable buttons which lessens the movement of the wrist.

This is a very good ergonomic mouse. It's not cheap, but Beast Buy has a competitive price and it is worth it. This replaced an older mouse (same model) that had been touched a few time too many by food (lunch) being eaten while mousing that caused some stickiness of the buttons. Obviously, don't let what you are eating with your hands get into the mouse. Buttons are programmable so you can add a double click button as one of the six buttons available (I use the middle one for this). Smooth operation all around. Great for long mousing time periods.

After experiencing issues with my fingers and wrist on a normal mouse, I purchased this mouse to alleviate the pressures/pain I was feeling in my wrist. This mouse helped a lot with the issues. There are plenty of buttons to adjust the functions to various different places if you need to. I purchased a second one for at work to ensure I was using the same ergonomic mouse. It took about a week to dial in the functions of the mouse and I appreciate the difference it has made.

It is an easy setup with just plugging it in and going. You can download driver software from the Evoluent website and then it allows you to reprogram the buttons. Their right click is awkward for me, so I reprogrammed it for the middle button to function as a right click. I have had zero wrist pain since I have been using this mouse and I am seriously considering purchasing another one for my home! Worth every penny!

A vertical mouse takes a while to get used to; sometimes I have the tendency to grasp it at the top with my palm down like a regular mouse, but I'm willing to work with it. It's a big plus that the mouse buttons can be customized after you download and install the software. I wish Best Buy sold the wireless version of this small mouse. They sell the large Evoluent wireless mouse but not the small wireless version. I can't speak to the longevity of this product yet.

Way too costly for general use, if you have a wrist issue and your doctor or physical therapist recommend it, this vertical mouse is nice. It definitely takes some getting used to, and is still (after a month of solid use) is hard to 'drive' for detailed work (like drawings), but great for general mouse use. It would be nice if a major mouse vendor (hint Logitech!) would offer one in their line. Yet another wireless adapter taking up a USB port and more drivers on the computer make for more troubleshooting RF and software collisions.

we have several users here who like the vertical mice. It gives your wrist a more natural position. If one of our users complains about their wrist, I suggest trying one of these.
