Customers are enthusiastic about the Kaptur GPS Drone's ease of use and the quality of its pictures. Many found it easy to learn to fly and control, resulting in a positive experience, especially for beginners. However, a significant drawback reported by customers was the short battery life, which limited flight time. Concerns were also raised regarding the GPS functionality and its reliability.

Well bought this drone yesterday. $ 200 plus and it work great the first few times I flew it. Then it flew away never to be seen again. Had it for 4 hours. Total waste of money, I might as well had taken the $200 and burned them

I'm always big into brand name drones like DJI , but decided to picked up this drone for the price and the quality and fun with this drone wow me, flying and ease of controlling, connecting wifi and camera quality was quite impressive. Little down side is battery life, aprox flight time about 15 mins or less and take a while to recharge.

This is my first drone, so I was very careful about reading the instructions and setting it up properly. I had no issues getting all of the features to work properly (GPS/Return Home, Take Off, Camera, etc.) The drone flies very well, is pretty stable, and has thus far maintained a reliable connection to the remote.
First thing I noted is the flexible and thin plastic housing. It makes sense to have this sort of springy casing, as the drone will be less likely to snap in a low impact collision. HOWEVER, there is one big flaw with this casing. The landing gear.
When landing the drone, under normal circumstances, you should be fine. On my maiden flight, however, I was a fool and allowed the battery to run dry before I could fully land. The drone was about 6 feet in the air when it fell to the ground (actual wet grass, not cement). One particular landing gear took the brunt of the force and was propelled out of it's clipped holster and through the top of the motor casing. Ouch! A little super glue fixed her up...but I must suggest to the manufacturer that the landing gear be fixed to the drone more rigidly. If the landing gear had not slipped out of it's holster, the force of the landing would have been taken through the whole arm of the drone rather than pierced through the top of the case.
Overall, great starter drone. Just be careful!

I bought a Protocol Kaptur GPS Drone from Best Buy couple weeks ago & it flew away during my first flight. It did not respond to any of the remote functions even the return home key. This was not my first drone I have flown other drones before. I am very disappointed in this product because non of the advertised smart features of the drone worked. I don't recommend this drone to anybody.

Worse then 720p. Video can be real choppy so I wouldn’t recommend flying out of site. Doesn’t have convenient features like GPS and Return To Home like the DJI Spark and Mavic. I would recommend a much cheaper drone then this one for adult beginners or buying this for their kids!

Reason I give a 4star is because you have to charge it for 2hours in order to fly it for 12 minuets

Very easy to fly indoors as that is pretty much all you can do during the cold winter months. This is the Quad you should get for your first, to practice with, prior to jumping up to the big boys like DJI or Parrot.

Really poor drone for the price

Didn't really meet my expectations for the price point this drone is sold at.
First off, the camera is really terrible. It uses WiFi for video transmission, so it cuts out all the time. The "VR headset" is just a phone holder with some lenses.
The battery life is meh. It uses proprietary batteries, so you have to buy them from the manufacturer and they weigh more than regular lipos, so flight performance suffers. They take almost two hours to charge and flight time is around five minutes. Flight performance is terrible, with the drone shaking in even mild amounts of wind. Motors are brushed, and drive the propellers with a plastic gear driven drive which cannot be replaced, meaning any prop strikes could put this drone down for good.

My boyfriend got this item ,and he's just a beginner..so far so good ,he's flying it pretty good and it's a bit tricky in the wind...so far he is doing well ,crashed in the wind while try to land and trying to see what direction your going in when your so far away ,he has not tried with headset yet just his phone and it's. A pretty cool toy...

This drone is great for practicing moves and operations, Because I have a little more expensive drone. Call bebop 2,the only flaws I found in this drone is that it’s hard to receive GPS Signal. Overall Recomended.

The Heart Attack Drone

Okay. If you read the manual, this isn't that hard to fly.
That being said, the GPS and Return to Home features are TERRIBLE.
When the battery gets low, it automatically engages return to home. If you're near trees, this is a nightmare scenario, as it will just ascend right into them. It has NO obstacle avoidance either, so if the path home is through trees or buildings, you'll get a direct crash.
The "cancel return to home" does NOT work like in the manual. Your best bet is to cut the engine, which only works 10 feet and under, so if the battery is getting low and it takes off, cut the motor immediately. If not, smash the controller buttons and hopefully you'll regain control to land it quickly.
So if you fly this, fly it in a big open feild, otherwise the GPS WILL cause MAJOR issues. I almost lost this drone 4 or 5 times. If you're in an open field, those features are great, but it limits it so that's the ONLY way to appropriately fly this.
The batteries... 15 max mins of flight time for 140 minute charge... TERRIBLE. So be prepared to buy 3 or 4 extras IMMEDIATELY. They're like, $30 a piece. Expensive.
Video streaming: not great. The VR headset sucks and broke immediately (I read that happened to someone else too.)
Okay, that's the video STREAMING. If you want good RECORDED pictures and video, buy the memory chip for this. You can record video and take pics without a chip, but it'll look like crap. If you buy the chip, the video and pics are pretty good. The chip is inserted onboard, so if you lose the drone in flight and don't recover it, goodbye higher quality video and pics. You can wirelessly transfer the contents from the drone to your phone provided the drone is on and has battery life left, but it's quicker to eject the chip and transfer the files that way.
If you want a great beginner drone that's cheap, fun, and functional, check out sky Viper. Yeah, they're technically toys, but they're durable and a blast to fly. The batteries are cheap (like $10) and plentiful, take about 30 mins to charge, and give you 15 minutes of flight. The cheaper end drones are around $50. You can get one that takes video and pictures just as well as the Kaptur for around $100.
So, I would say this drone is NOT for beginners, not because it's hard to fly, it handles OK, but a little underpowered for it's size. When turning at a standstill it will lose altitude because of the power draw. But this is not for beginners because of the quick thinking needed when the GPS thinks it's doing you a favor.
If this drone didn't have GPS, it would be soooo much better despite the drawbacks. It's an okay drone at best, but the GPS makes it more of a liability than a help unless you're in a huge open field.
