Tutorials could provide a little more information, however, this program is fairly easy to use once you play around with it and learn how to use it. The price was right as I bought it at half price. I did have a problem getting the program to run on windows 8. Sent an email to punch and they sent me a patch to download. Works great now. The topography tools are a little tough to work with if you have a lot of hills and slopes as I do. If your property is flat or you have only a few hills and slopes, you should have no problems. All in all, it is an ok program for home use.

Pretty complicated to use but you can figure it out with some work. I primarily got it to see how plants would look on my landscaping but the view is all computer generated and all the plants look close to the same. There are no actual photos of the plants.

Purchased for a project..but it would not install. When I tried to return it they refused because it had been opened to install. Ended up having to purchase another program somewhere else and lost 25.00.

Why didn't it say that this is an add-on to the house design software? Frustrating and a time waster to not have begun at the beginning. Buy the home design package first.

I have a Windows 8 machine. It turns out I needed a patch to make it work on my machine (http://tinyurl.com/astvfu4). From then on, it worked great. This product is rather robust in its design and if you are handling a small project, such as designing a backyard it may be too much power for what you're looking for. The software has built-in video tutorials so you can learn on the fly, but it isn't very intuitive if that's the kind of software you're looking for. Be ready with exact measurements of your area that you plan to design or you might be out with a measuring tape, measuring everything. Overall, I don't think it is a bad product, it just needs some work to cater toward the casual user and not the professional landscaper.

We bought it to play with home and garden ideas and it's perfect for that. We can try out variations on our schemes and talk about them. My 9 year old likes to play with it and is having fun learning to think in 3-D, plan out ideas, consider steps in a process (both CAD drawing and construction).

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She loves trying different things with the program.

Does not do what it says and tech support impossible. had problems loading. Went with a more expensive better program that lives up to its claims. Do not waste time or money

I purchased this for my landscaping business and it will not open on my computer. I keep getting an error. I will be bringing it back to best buy along with my computer to see what the issue is as it states it is compatible with my operating system. I'm hoping we can fix it because it looks like a really neat program.

Product is called Landscape, Deck and Patio Design. yet you need to start with designing a house - build house, roof, windows, doors, furniture layout. . . . I just want to design a garden. When I pick any house template just to get to the garden steps I can't figure out how. I even went thru the tutorial which quickly shows you all of what is capable of, but to quickly and not really how-more like it is just bragging about how many complicated things it can do. Not only would I not recommend it, after several hours of struggling I stopped using it because it was getting me to stressed out.

It was complicated and tedious to set up the current layout of the home, particularly the wall heights, ceilings and roof. It took a couple of sessions to get that done. But now that it is set up, anything I want to do to my home, I can click the mouse to choose from thousands of floors, cabinets, windows and endless accesories from door knobs to fish tanks. You can even import pictures of your furniture to see how it fits and matches. You can completely redesign, or simply rearange your home without moving the sofa.

I like the features this software offers, but I am disappointed with the deck design features. I would expect a program to provide a simple side view of the selected railing and the deck support height in the finished design. One can't see the overall deminsions with respect to height. I realize this is not the best software available, but it was affordable for my small project. I could have saved the money because I designed it on graft paper anuway. The program has some value, but not for deck design.

This program will not run on my laptop. It requires a video card or game controller that is on my desktop. I wanted to use it on my laptop but can not.

Can't enter dimensions directly; Back arrows don't work; Impossible to acutally set up a diagram for an exiting house. Help system no good - I tried "Enter dimension" and it told me I had to drag and drop. Looks like it was designed for an iPAD or a device without number entry. Has standard home layouts; No way to search them (2.6 story, 3400 SqFt, ). You have to look at each 1 and there aren't very many. Can't find a plant by name. .....
