Used code in DVD package to extend subscription

I used code in physical DVD package to extend my subscription. You cannot extend it with the "Digital" option. When ordering, notice how the product changes to "New Subscribers Only" when you change the Software Format from Physical to Digital. See the pics. Be careful! I ordered the DVD and it applied the code enclosed in the box on 12/8/22 to successfully extend my subscription from expiring on 3/21/22 to 3/21/23.

Loaded good, but you can not change the colors on the charts in my account. Olive green just doesn't cut it. Tech Support said there was nothing I could do to change default colors.

The first disk did not work but was able to get another copy that towered. Quicken Deluxe, both as a disk installation and subscription service, is a robust and comprehensive personal finance tool that empowers individuals to take control of their financial lives. Offering a wide array of features and functionalities, Quicken Deluxe proves to be a reliable companion for managing budgets, tracking expenses, and planning for a secure financial future. While it does have some room for improvement, this software undoubtedly serves as a valuable resource for users seeking to streamline their financial management processes. Pros: 1. Intuitive User Interface: Quicken Deluxe boasts a user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate, making it accessible for both novices and experienced users. The well-organized layout enables quick access to various financial tools and reports, ensuring a seamless user experience. 2. With Quicken Deluxe, users can effortlessly monitor their overall financial health and gain valuable insights into their spending habits. 3. Budgeting Made Simple: One of the standout features of Quicken Deluxe is its budgeting capabilities. Users can create customized budgets based on their financial goals and track their progress with ease. The software provides detailed reports and visualizations, enabling users to identify areas where they can save and make necessary adjustments. 4. This feature helps avoid late fees and provides a clear overview of upcoming financial obligations. Cons: 1. Learning Curve: While the software's user interface is generally intuitive, mastering all the features and functionalities may require a learning curve, particularly for individuals new to personal finance management software. Some users might need to invest time in exploring and understanding the various tools available. 2. Pricing Structure: Quicken Deluxe follows a subscription model, which might not be appealing to everyone. The cost of the subscription can accumulate over time, and some users might prefer a one-time purchase option. Additionally, periodic updates and feature enhancements may require additional fees. 3. Mobile App Limitations: The accompanying mobile app, while convenient for on-the-go access, lacks certain features compared to the desktop version. Some advanced functionalities may be restricted or not available on the mobile platform, limiting the overall experience for users who rely heavily on mobile devices. Conclusion: Quicken Deluxe stands as a powerful personal finance tool that provides users with the means to streamline their financial management. Its intuitive interface, comprehensive tracking capabilities, budgeting tools, and investment management features make it a reliable choice for individuals seeking to gain control over their finances. Despite a learning curve and some limitations in the mobile app, Quicken Deluxe's benefits significantly outweigh its drawbacks. Whether you opt for the disk installation or subscription service, Quicken Deluxe remains a valuable asset for individuals aiming to achieve financial success.

Great Program; Different Features Depending on OS

BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT: There’s no better way to manage all the financial aspects of your home or business life I’ve been using Quicken for my finances since the early 90’s and this version does not disappoint. At first I was annoyed that the program switched to a subscription model, but got over it when I saw the fixes and updates get taken care of “mid-season” rather than waiting for the next version. I used to get a new version of Quicken every other year to take advantage of new features and fixes, so the annual subscription price meant a 50% increase in price. Buying on sale at Best Buy, though, makes it so that I ultimately pay the same price I used to, only with a program that is not ignored by the software developer. This new model allows you to download whichever Quicken version you prefer - Windows or Mac. For the Mac users (like me) out there, this is definitely the best version yet. Having said that, though, there are still a lot of features that a Windows user rely on that haven’t made the transition to Mac. And some usability features that simply don’t live up to the standards that an experienced Quicken for Windows user expects. In effect, the Quicken Mac version is hobbled by the constraints of the MacOS environment that often frustrate users transitioning from Windows. As such, we still keep a spare Windows computer just for the sake of running Quicken. If we didn’t have so much historical investment data in the Windows files, the Mac version might have been fine to get started in. One other warning if you’re considering a move from Windows to Mac: be prepared to redo your budgets, categories, reports, and some banking connections thanks to the mismatches introduced in the export / import process (note that I did NOT say “file transfer” process, because you export the Windows file to the web, and them import it to Quicken). So final summary if you’ve read this far: - New version is the best one ever - Quicken for Windows is awesome for all aspects of financial management - Quicken for Mac is better than ever, but not as powerful as Windows - Quicken for Mac is awesome if you’re just tracking bank accounts and bills, or if you’re just getting started with more advanced Quicken features - Beware if planning to switch from Windows to Mac - it takes some effort!

    Subscription too pricey

As tons of others mentioned, the subscription model is painful. I only need to subscribe in order to automatically download prices of securities - I don't use checkwriting or download info from my financial institutions so the $60/year is absolutely ridiculous for me. I still use the program which is good however. As others have mentioned, you can find this on sale from BB from time to time which makes it less painful to keep current and to download prices, etc. Make sure you buy the physical copy of the DVD. Use the activation code printed on a card inside the box. After my subscription ended, I simply clicked on "activate" and then entered the new code which I had purchased. It worked. I did not have to uninstall the previous version or install the new version (and the program updated after I activated the new code). I never minded too much paying to upgrade every three years at a much a lower price. But now I have to upgrade every year at a price 3 times of what I was paying every there years. I guess that is what they call inflation, but if I find another option, or decide to input prices manually, they will lose a customer

Like all Quicken users, I have to renew my subscription annually. This was the least expensive renewal I've paid in years because it was on sale well in advance of the July anniversary when long-time users were all converted to the subscription plan. The renewal can be made up to 6 months before your anniversary date, so it pays to look for sales before you must renew - mine was about 4 months early. One star off for Quicken updating the program without fixing many of the long-standing issues, but finding resources to add in bells and whistles that no one needs, and for actually making Best Buy send a useless CD through the mail to deliver the activation code.

Quicken has been an excellent tool for keeping track of finances. They only thing recently is that there remains a flag across the top of the screen asking to renew membership. I do not like that now it has become a yearly membership. We have been able to continue to use it for what we need it for without becoming yearly members. The flag is just a minor disturbance. I still recommend unless the yearly membership becomes needed.

Just getting started with this app. Trying it because Intuit wanted an outrageous annual fee to continue using desktop QB! Now I have a years old data file that I can not access because Intuit shut down my desktop program. Quicken appears to be adequate for my personal needs, but I’m anxious to see what they’re going to want for the renewal next year.

The Mac version is different than the Windows version and takes getting use to. For some reason they choose to do away with the address book which to me made no sense. Still it's the best way to keep your banking records.

Quicken for Mac is one of the more comprehensive personal finance apps available but if you’re transitioning from the Windows version, you may be disappointed as the Mac version is less robust in terms of features and friendliness of the user interface. The user is likely to feel that the Mac version is less intuitive than the Windows version. So, it’s essential that you understand your personal use case and select the Windows or Mac version on that basis. If you’ve already transitioned to a Mac and need the features offered by the Windows version, you’ll need to run an emulator and opt for the Windows version. It's not inexpensive. For a few years and since being acquired by a PE firm, the cost of ownership has increased. Like most software these days, Quicken is subscription based with versions ranging from $42 to $72 per year. At the end of that year, the company prevents you from downloading data directly from your financial institutions. Further, the system prevents you from importing data to the program. You’re left with a crippled app which allows you manually input every transaction, something I don’t recommend if you value your time. The most notable changes from the 2020 version were that which related to speed of the app. including: • Faster start-up • Faster loading of charts and graphs • Faster backups One of the more annoying shortcomings is the apps inability to handle warrants and stock options. If you receive either, the software doesn’t track expiry dates, exercise prices and, eventually, the cost basis of an exercise. You’ll have to track those securities on an Excel spreadsheet.

A once great program is in its nadir

A great program has become mediocre due to lack of vision. It's latest iteration as a subscription has only furthered this. This version used to be sold for ~$40 each year. You could choose to purchase every other year and still have a decent financial management package. The publisher now lists the price at $52 and forces users to pay up each year or loose access to years of financial data. I'd waited as long as I could before caving to the subscription demands. Quicken indicated that the version I was on would no longer be supported by my banks this year. That left subscription is the only viable option. While company continues to make improvements, they retain the same slow backend database as the program is used for the past 15 years. Datafiles remain included in saving transaction is relatively slow, even with a latest generation processor and SSD. In terms of performance, the program is a dog. Since there is no viable competition, Quicken seems to have little incentive to focus on performance and instead is focused only on incremental features. I've used Quicken for the better part of 30 years. I watched grow from an ASCII based product to Windows to the current hybrid version. Quicken is good, but it could be better. In that same time frame, I've watch Excel develop from a good tool to something fast and indispensable Quicken has instead rested on its laurels and hope that no one will notice.
