Its a really cool light. My office is well lit - but my desk itself lacks a good amount of light. This cleared that problem right up. My desk is well illuminated, and it fits into my existing razer devices in terms of lighting control. I deducted a star because it really is a lot of money for a light, and the setup was not very smooth. This thing also needs a fair amount of power. I tried running a USB-C to USB-A adaptor and plugged it into a powered USB-A port as I have way more of those available than USB-C ports, and it was not enough power. I think the port I plugged it into supports around 10W. I have it plugged into an 18W dedicated USB-C power adapter (Not included with the device, hence another major reason for the star deduction at this price point) If you have the extra cash, and have a spare USB-C adapter lying around, it does do a fantastic job lighting things up - and if you are already bought into Razer ecosystem, all the better. The smartphone app is meh.

Being able to connect to the Gamer Room app was hard and apparently you have to pair to it as soon as you plug it in as it goes into discovery mode immediately. I had to do some googling and found that to manually activate pairing mode you had to hold the power and left light button (sun symbol) until the lights change then eventually turn off then turn on again of which you have 5 minutes to pair. After that, it was amazing as it can even turned off and on via Siri on my HomePod mini. I can adjust brightnesss of the white light via HomeKit but not the Chroma lights. It does however let you choose the color of the Chroma light and not the white light which is weird but overall very small issue since I just have to go to the app Gamer Room and adjust it. There is lots of adjustment for the white light to a soft warm yellowish light as well. Only real complaint I’d have is just the instructions not really provided as there is not much info online with the only place with info on it being Reddit (not even Razer themselves with some customer service agents unfamiliar with the new product) but after that, I have enjoyed it as it brought the much needed light to my desk space.

Bought it while it was on 'sale'. Really easy to set up and great on the eyes (eye stress). Still a bit pricey for me, but it was there rather than wait for any delivery. My only OCD gripe is that it's slightly slanted to the left, slightly. In addition, it looks better for curve monitors IMO as it adds a litter more over the surface area.

Little expensive, but worth it for quality build, excellent light contours, definitely use Razer Synapse app to increase user config as desired. USB power or use of electrical adapter will function for unit. Is tripod capable nice feature, along with adjustable light brightness.

Pros: I love the build quality if the Aether Monitor light bar. The white light is bright. Cons: Having to use the Gamer Room App. It took Razer over a month to work out all of the setup bugs, so I could sync with Razer Synapse. Now that it is working with Razer Synapse the buttons on the device no longer work. So to turn on the white reading light, it can only be done through Razer Synapse, and not the button on the device.

Not really a PC accessory

Despite this being a monitor light and plugging into a USB port, this is not really a PC accessory. It’s a “smart” light. And incredibly difficult to get setup. Don’t waste your money or time on this thing. Seriously.
