I just upgraded from the Razer Blackwidow 2014 keyboard and this new keyboard is a welcome addition to my programming and PC gaming world. The yellow switches my keyboard came with are so much quieter than the green switches that came with my old blackwidow-- it's like night and day. The keyboard doesn't take me out of the game world like my old one did with its super loud clicks. I wasn't really looking for lighting on my next keyboard, but I got a deal on this keyboard which brought it into my price range for an upgrade and I must say the lighting effects are top notch. I love how the lights are behind a light spreading surface so they glow evenly below the keys and the animations available are awesome too. The wrist rest is also very high quality and super comfortable, I can't believe I've gone so long without one. Magnets are strong enough to keep it in place while using the keyboard, but not quite strong enough to keep the rest attached if you pick up the keyboard. Definitely recommend this setup. I also like that the keyboard allows me to have the mouse closer to my keyboard due to the lack of numpad. No USB port on this one so you'll have to use your monitor USB ports or an extension if you have a sit/stand desk like me.

I’ve been waiting for this keyboard for a while now. When the BW chroma V2 full-size came out I bought it and loved it, excellent construction, keys (yellow switch) had an amazing feel to them, very sturdy space bar not like Corsairs wobbly version. The only Issue I had was the macro keys to the left, it wasn’t for me, my finger placement often pressed those instead of tab, Esc. etc. Now for the TE v2, this keyboard matches the same build quality as its full-size brother, same chroma lighting, the only thing it doesn’t have is the independent indicator lights for the macro, game, etc. however it is lit up on the F-keys. The smaller size is also great for me, love the compactness of everything I need. It has a detachable power cable which makes moving it out of the way very easy if you have cable management setup and need to clean your desk. The magnetic soft wrist rest is WAY better than the Corsair hard, clunky attachable one. It comes with Yellow Switches by the way, I know it doesn’t state that on the specifications, I had to take a trip to BB to confirm, I don’t like green “clicky” Keys.

Spilt beer on my last keyboard… lights went haywire. Picked this bad boy up on discount and I’m very happy with it. It’s short enough my mouse doesn’t bump into it when I’m mobbin. Buttons are nice and quiet and feel amazing when pressing. Also, very cool light patterns to choose from in the associated program Razer synapse 3. The wrist pad is a very nice inclusion that is comfortable and sturdy. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is one of the keys doesn’t light up. Im sure I could have had it replaced but for 1 key that is mighty inconvenient and I’m really not that picky. Just trying to leave an honest review.

I was impressed with this even though in the end I returned it because it just wasn't right for me. I think the one I got came with the yellow key switches which was my first time using razers linear switch and while it was quiet, I did miss the tactile click that you get out of the orange or green switches. In the end the main reason I returned this keyboard was because I missed having a numpad on the right. Other than that, the chroma effects looked great, the wrist rest is ridiculously comfortable, and I did like the overall portability of the keyboard (which i realize is mostly due to the loss of a numpad, but it's still very compact and comes with a usb cable that isn't hardwired to the keyboard). If you don't need the numpad like i did then you can't really go wrong with this one.

Feels Like a Waterbed For My Fingers

I was originally hesitant in purchasing this keyboard. I really wanted the number pad and the silent switches, BUT due to being impatient I bought what was available in store. With that said, buying this keyboard has been one of the best purchases I've ever made. Typing on this keyboard feels like a waterbed for my fingers, it's smooth and just tactile enough to not be overwhelming. It's perfect and it did not take me long to get used to not having a number pad. Razer products with Chroma also sync with my Phillps Hue lights, which was an unknown bonus for me! Bottom line; 10/10 would recommend this keyboard to anyone.

The tactility and click of this keyboard is perfect for myself and is very satisfying to type on. The RGB lighting is controlled through Razer Synapse which can be tricky to use at times but looks nice with whatever you're trying to do. But the greatest part of this product is the wrist rest that comes with the keyboard. The wrist rest attaches magnetically to the keyboard and spans over the length of the bottom of the keyboard and is cushioned for almost the entire length and is the most comfy thing you can type on. If you live with roommates, Razer offers this keyboard with other switches to fit your needs.

Product comes in a nice package, looks like a more expensive product. Keyboard itself is high quality and keys are highly responsive to the touch, being mechanical and not membrane, the feeling and feedback to the fingers is pleasant...those old timers that have used IBM electric typewriters know exactly what I am talking about. Software downloads easily from website and lightning has several modes and options, just beautiful for those long gaming nites!!. Keyboard cable is detachable with standard USB input/output ports, so replacement is easy if cord gets damaged.

Nice and compact but still high end performance. Quiet compared to other mechanical keys out there. Decent color control. I turned the colors down to the lowest setting so they would not be distracting at night. Impressed by the build quality and the magnetic arm rest. Only complaint is that the keys are very touchy, it's east to press one just barely resting on them. But that's a plus in gaming.

So I originally purchased a Razer Ornata Chroma for school work and casual gaming, but due to the size of my desk and the sound of the loud keys i decided to purchase this keyboard with the yellow switches and i do not think I can ever go back to a mecha-membrane or membrane keyboard ever again. There are some sacrifices made, such as the loss of a 10 key number pad and USB+Audio passthrough from the full-size, but the overall improvements from the Ornata are amazing.
The keys are silent (keep in mind that when Razer states the switches are silent they are, but the sound you hear is really just the keycap hitting the board) and are actually very responsive. It was difficult at first getting used to the highly-sensitive keys, but with enough time I have been able to avoid frustration with this.
Overall this is an amazing product and I highly recommend this for people who would like a smaller keyboard that is still packed with serious build quality and superior switches.

I was using a keyboard with blue switches while I enjoyed it I wanted to try something different I went in the store and played with each keyboard and I found this one with the yellow switches to satisfy me. You don’t even have to push the button all the way down for it to activate and it looks amazing.

The keyboard is really great and is of nice quality, but I received yellow switches instead of orange as stated in the specifications. There are other reviewers with the same experience and BestBuy is just not correcting the item description. Fortunately this is fine with me, but others should be may aware of this.

Purchased this for my son who was dying for a gaming keyboard for his rig. Very cool light show which is completely customizable. Keys are super responsive. Well made though i think one could find similar build quality at a slightly lower price.

Don’t get me wrong it’s not the worst. It’s RGB effects are stunning but I prefer a keyboard with the number pad and on board usb plug in keyboard. This did. Not have.

Love everything about my new Razer - BlackWidow Chroma V2 Tournament Edition USB Gaming Keyboard! I had the same one but larger with the numeric pad on the side. That one took a lot of room which I didn't care because I loved it and loved the multi lights at all hours running through. So when I saw Best Buy had the smaller version I went for it and couldn't be happier. Oh and less clickitti sound which at first I enjoyed but it was a little too much. This one is perfect with just enough clicking sound. HIGHLY Recommend!
