    Works Perfectly

I haven't built a PC in years, but this case is the easiest thing in the world to open and close. I added my graphic card, hooked everything up and it's worked perfectly with my MacBook Pro (2018) on macOS Mojave. I use it for editing video and it definitely helps. The boost you get depends on 1) the application's use of the eGPU and 2) the power of the GPU you select. When it comes to the latter, spend more = get more.

    Gaming laptop for any laptop

Want to have a gaming laptop but not have to carry around a brick ton that doesn't fit anywhere and isn't convenient? This is it chief, you throw in a 2080ti and your small laptop becomes a gaming machine sitting on a desk. Take the same laptop and use it around the house, work and school and keep it with you. Desktop replacement requires desktop technologies like this. It's worth it.

This is a great external gpu. I used this on an old dell with a paired monitor and this thing works so well. I currently use it with my rtx 2060 and it handles it no problem. 100+ FPS on games. Great bang for the buck.

Works very well and keeps it simple. The hardest part is the software on the laptop but you just have to download the drivers for the card in the amplifier. Every time you disconnect you have to reinstall the driver for the card built into your machine but only takes a minute. The trade off is that your thin and light laptop can be a gaming powerhouse on your desktop. I am using Blade Stealth 13" with 1650 ti and a full 1070 in amplifier.

Build quality is great, super easy to set up. Only issue is that I used it with my old MacBook and the newer M1 powered systems. Other than that super easy to use and get setup.

The Razer Core works pretty well. Occasionally I had to restart it a few times to get my laptop to pick up the graphics card. Setup was easy!

Good produce for what it is designed to do

This worked well - for what is is designed to do. If you have a non-gaming laptop and want to make it nearly as good as a gaming laptop - this should do it. But you will need to use external monitors to make it work well. Having the signal "loop back" to the laptop's own monitor really does slow it down. However, even with an external monitor - I chose to return it and but a real desktop gaming computer. So it works - but not as good as a dedicated gaming computer - but it is not expected to work that way.

Video conferencing via USB capture (ElGato CamLink) always made my 2020 16" MacBook Pro spin its fans up to full speed. Got this and put an old Radeon RX480 into it and I get no noise at all anymore. Davinici Resolve 16 render speeds also are very nice and it drives dual 4k monitors at 60Hz too without breaking a sweat. (A lot of these results are due to the Radeon card I put into it, but you can pick one of them up for $100 or less used)

If you're looking for a little boost to your laptop, this is it. You can throw in almost any new gen graphics card and it will let you game at better performance. Given, throwing that same card in a PC would yield better performance, this gets the job done.

Works great with a 2019 Macbook Pro 16

I needed a new Mac, I loved my old Mac Pro it was 10 years old and died, but it would sit at home all the time not being used. So this time around I got a new Macbook pro 16 with 32gigs of ram 2TB of SSD storage. The new Mac has a great graphics card built in, but for more graphics horsepower i had a AMD vega 64 so i got this box and i can tell you this combo really make the graphics fly. Also as the Macbook ages I can get a new graphs card in a couple of years and keep the Mac rolling until i retire it. The best of all worlds. Still working out a bug out with Windows 10, Bootcamp and and the EGPU box. Video so not currently I am not getting video on the PC bootcamp side but I am sure it will be fixed soon, the Catalina Mac side no problems.

    Meh

Great for ultrabooks with built in low-end GPUs, BUT I ran my i9 razer pro with one of these and a RTX2080 TI and struggled to get 60fps in 1440... meanwhile I can put that same TI in a desktop and I can play 4k seamlessly at 60fps.... Great for a Laptop hub, but don't expect to hit high frames with an eGPU. Definitely consider the transfer rate thru thunderbolt and the drastic frame loss (compared to gpu in a desktop). Would be 5 stars if the transfer speeds weren't a significant drop.
