Customers commend the Huntsman Wired Gaming Keyboard's high-quality build, beautiful RGB lighting, and smooth, responsive keys. Many appreciate the vivid backlighting and ease of use, along with the attractive color options. However, some find the keyboard pricey, and others note that the switch type may be too loud for some users. The lack of an included wrist rest is also a point of concern for a few customers.

- Opto-mechanical, so it's very clicky and loud, similar to cherry blue switches. Could be a pro or con, depending on the person. Definitely not the keyboard for office work or public spaces because of the loudness of keys.
- Actuation distance of 1.5mm. Pretty sweet.
- A very responsive keyboard. Can definitely feel the click whenever you press a key, and does not require a lot of effort to push down on the key. Feels light and balanced.
- It's pink. Somewhere in between light cherry blossom and Pepto Bismol. I like it though. Pink is an unusual deviation from the normal black.
- Backlighting is amazing. Has preset lighting options, but it's fully adjustable. I personally like Fire or Starlight.
- Keys are removable, but you might have to wiggle them off a little harder than usual because of stabilization bars.
- Has media keys! And some other function keys.
- Very compact keyboard, doesn't take up a lot of space.
- Does not include lighting around the edge of the keyboard, wrist rest, or volume dial, but is $50 cheaper than the Huntsman Elite.
Overall, this is a really good keyboard. The only concern I have with it is the loudness of the new opto-mechanical, but I really like how tactile and responsive they are. Was originally intending to buy a keyboard with cherry browns, but the pink color won me over to Razer.

Un-apologetically pink, great switches!

Razer peripherals are usually 10/10 on looks, but varying levels of durability. This keyboard sets a great standard for other manufacturers.
When my DasKeyboard Professional with brown switches started failing on me after 4 years, I was up for a new keyboard. Unfortunately I was limping along the Das which kept double-pressing keystrokes.
My wife ended up getting a keyboard she wanted more as a gift after having bought this recently, so I've now assumed it. It's SUPER pink. Like, VERY pink. I expected that, but it's super high contrast against my dark desk and mouse mat. That being said, a nice flush of colors can be had by swapping out the keycaps to introduce a little change of pace.
This keyboard really shines in its simplicity. Razer Synapse is the best of the best when it comes to customization and this keyboard is no exception. Many awesome presets for flowing color around in varying ways, I love the simulated flame crackling!!
Most importantly, the switches! At first I was very apprehensive about the proprietary switches. I was very pleased to find out that they are exceptionally comfortable, well performing, and satisfyingly audible. If you do not like "clicky" keyboards I would move on as this is almost as loud as it gets, but is very nice for those who appreciate that loud feedback.
All in all I would recommend this keyboard to anyone, so long as you like pink. ;) If you prefer a different palette, the Huntsman also has a Black color variant too!

SOLID buy for the price it went on sale for. I like Razer but I was never satisfied with the Blackwidow series of keyboards. The Huntsman series is remarkably better and feels amazing to type on, for gaming or for work (it's loud though!). They're putting out different versions of this one now with different sizes and even linear, less clicky versions of their optical switches so you've got options if the standard tenkey Huntsman isn't for you.
My only complaint is that I'm not satisfied with the keyboard stands at all. If I accidentally shift the keyboard up on my wide desktop mousepad, it'll retract and fold in the little stands that keep the keyboard angled. The keyboard itself does a lot of moving around on my desk just because it's on a softer surface and the rubber stoppers have no resistance but I don't think that's gonna retract from my score. Still a great keyboard. RGB Chroma is great.

Just like many other Razer products, this one does not disappoint. They keys feel great and you know when picking up this keyboard, it feels very solid. The Synapse software is easy to use and you can customize the colored RGB lights any way you like.

The white version of this keyboard is excellent. Keys feel great, easy to type on, and the RGB colors are super bright on the white background. Expensive, wish I bought it on sale.

I have used the Black Widow Ultimate for years, and I finally just wanted something different. I absolutely could not be happier with this keyboard. The keys/switches feel even BETTER than the Black Widow, and the rest of the keyboard feels better made. $150 seemed a little steep at first, but after using it I understand and agree with the price point. Also, the pink is pretty wicked. (I'm a straight dude too) My fiancé so jealous of it.. she keeps trying to steal the keyboard away from me. Not giving mine up though, looks like I'm buying two!

I bought this keyboard solely based on the tactile response that this very well designed keyboard has, it has other bells an whistles (full RGB keyboard lighting) that I will hardly, if ever use. The clicky and responsive feel is one of a kind and from what I read of the build of the keyboard, it will last through many desktops that you may own in the future. Highly recommend this over the higher price version if you want to use only one USB port and don't need the keyboard volume controls.

the keyboard aesthetically is just phenomenal i love razor they know how to reach a gamers heart. The build quality is great the base is metal which is very nice. Its also pretty slim and looks clean but flashy. The switches are so satisfying to press with the perfect amount of resistance. And the color options are limitless and easy to change

Nice premium keyboard

Bought this keyboard because it was on promo sale which made this premium model much more affordable than it usually is. This keyboard's claim to fame is the fast very responsive optical mechanical key switches with key cap stabilizer bars on each key. The keys definitely live up to the hype. Though the key switch sensor is optical in nature, the keys themselves have a very nice clicky tactile feel to them with audible feedback. The keys don't appear to wobble and feel exactly the same whether depressed on center, left center or right center. The actuation point and reset point is right as the click sound is made. With practice a user could actuate the keys with a feather light touch not pushing the keys all the way to the bottom of their travel stroke length. On the downside the keys are not fully illuminated unlike other similar keyboards. This can be observed when looking at the 3 key where the 3 is lit but the # symbol is not lit. The LED illumination brightness can be controlled directly by the keyboard special function hyper shift keys. However the RGB color choice as well as the illumination pattern can only be controlled via Razer Synapse software. Unfortunately Razer Synapse on my laptop doesn't appear to detect the Huntsman while it seems to detect the connected Razer mouse just fine. Based upon online research this issue may be remedied via uninstalling Synapse, downloading Synapse and re-installing Synapse with the Huntsman connected. Haven't done this yet as the keyboard's default mode of color shifting through its entire RGB color palette isn't too annoying with the brightness level turned down.

Pros:
- Feels solid
- good quality keys, clicky
- quality metal base
- wide color spectrum (rgb etc..) nice paracord cable
- The software lets you customize the heck out of it
- The software has cloud-save for your settings
Cons:
- Paracord cable does not detach from the keyboard
- Limits you to USB-A
- The specials on the keys do not light up, so if you plan to code at night or in a dark environment, you might need to turn a light on.
- The keyboad does not save your RGB settings, so as soon as you reboot, or the windows service for Razer Synapse is closed it reverts to unicorn vomit. This can be somewhat annoying if you dual boot into Linux, or something.

Once you use a Razer mechanical keyboard you will never willingly use anything else. I bought this when my cat dumped a cup of water into my older Black widow. This took longer to get than promised and I had to resort to the keyboard that came with original bundle. Keys are crisp and clicky. I love it! The light show syncs with my other Razer products. Very beautiful.

This keyboard has both style and substance. It's so cute and the rbg is not obnoxious like some other rbg products are. The mechanical keys are super satisfying and make typing fun. The keys are also not too loud or too clicky which is nice for a mechanical keyboard. I'm hoping this keyboard lasts me a long time, it's beautiful and super high quality.

If you are searching for a "clicky" keyboard with nice key response and solid construction, this low end Razer is a great place to start. It may not have the bells and whistles of some of the higher end models but it has everything the average internet surfer could need, plus more options to adjust and program its back lighting than you knew any keyboard had.
Its surprisingly superior to anything that has ever come with a PC Ive bought. A mechanical keyboard makes a bigger difference than i thought. I wholly recommend trying this product if you decide to upgrade your typing interface.

Maybe I’m not a gamer, but I know a cool looking keyboard when I see one. Not only does it make the best noises when you click it, it lights up. Lights up! Isn’t that amazing?! I love my keyboard and I know it will last a good long while. So, 10/10 from me. Just be aware it does make a clacking noise when you click the keys. I really enjoy it but it may not be everyone’s taste.

I purchased this to replace a very old Apple Extended Keyboard II which I had been using for years, but the polling/lag in gaming was becoming very tiresome and noticeable with modern gaming and caught strokes.
Pros:
The keyboard itself is very well built and the Synapse software is very straight forward to use. I like the metal body of the keyboard too.
Playing World of Warcraft and Diablo III, the response time was immediate and apparent compared to my ancient keyboard where sometimes twitchy input would delay or not be registered. After experiencing the response time of a gaming keyboard, I don't think I can switch back to my Apple Extended Keyboard II for gaming.
Cons (and why this will be going back to Best Buy):
Lack of alt key lighting. Every other major mechanical keyboard maker seems to offer full key lighting. Razer fully illuminates the numeric pad, but the rest of the keyboard fails to illuminate the alt functions of keys. The main problem with this is the keyboard is black and the alt functions are an off grey and hard to see in normal lighting and obviously impossible to see in the dark.
It is incredibly loud when typing. Even compared to some of the other mechanical keyboards I tested in store and my previous Apple, this one stands out with just how loud the keystrokes are while typing to the point people in the other room (with the TV on no less) noticed the sound and asked that I shut the door......that was a first. In store, the box had the directional pad exposed so you could feel and hear the keys in action, but it doesn't really let you know just how loud this keyboard is once unleashed outside of the box.
Conclusion:
I really wanted to like this keyboard as this was my first foray into Razer products, but the loudness and lack of alt key lighting were deal breakers. I'm still giving it three starts though because the core typing experience is very nice and the in game responsiveness is great. If keystroke noise is not an issue and you are a touch typist 100% that never needs to glance at the keyboard for alt key functionality, then this is a great keyboard.

So far, it’s a great mechanical keyboard. You get what you paid for. Keys are light and clicky. However, this keyboard is loud when you click unlike other mechanical keyboard. I wish it came with a wrist pad like other razer keyboards out there. I got this to match my white setup. Overall, I would still recommend this keyboard!

This keyboard is pretty rgb is bright. Comes with abs keycaps though, pbt are not only better longterm, but they feel nicer. I also don't like clicky switches that much, so I wish there was a linear version. But its an okay keyboard. Maybe a little overpriced for what it is, but all mechanical keyboards seem to be overpriced. Another thing, the only way to change rgb is through software. Usually some keyboards have a few presets without software but not these. Its a little underwhelming but whatever.
