Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Wolverine Ultimate controller's high-quality build, ease of use, and customizable features, frequently praising its comfortable feel and appealing RGB lighting. However, some users reported issues with stick drift and button responsiveness, while others found the wired connection and paddle placement less than ideal. The controller's size also received mixed reviews, with some finding it too large or too small for their hands. Overall, the positive feedback on the controller's design and feel is tempered by concerns about its durability and ergonomics.

The buttons are great, but I wish the back buttons had more compatibility. The Razer app for this is... kinda terrible.

First off, great controller, when it works and when it's new... The first one I picked up had been used sold as new, sticks were worn down to nothing, hair was on the USB cable, and the controller was greasy. Exchanged it no problem. The second controller was new, but the right trigger stopped working 15 minutes into gameplay. Again, exchanged no problem, this time for the Wolverine V2 Chroma. In my opinion, the Wolverine Ultimate felt much more comfortable to hold, so I returned the V2 Chroma and got my third Wolverine Ultimate. This time, it was new, and I haven't had any problems with the controller after roughly a week of use. It feels far more premium than a stock Microsoft controller and the mechanical face buttons are a really nice addition. Only gripe I have is the common stick drift issue that is prevalent on these controllers. However, by calibrating it through windows (I am only using this controller on PC), that stick drift issue becomes a non-issue. Overall great controller, poor quality control from Razer.

Bought this after the second time the bumpers broke on the Xbox elite. It is pretty sweet. I love the way the buttons feel and don't mind it being wired. The cord is sturdy and plenty long. There are more customization options on this controller than there are on most others. The app to customize the controller works perfectly on my Xbox. My only complaint is the placement of the bottom paddles, I have small hands so they are a little bit of a stretch. Great purchase!

Pros: Mechanical ABXY feels nice but could be annoying depending on your preference. Comes with a nice usb-c cable. Headphone mixer on the bottoms is a nice addition. Cons: The first controller I bought had significant stick drift and I had to return it. The second one still had a little drift at high sensitivity but much better (still shouldn’t have any for how expensive it is) Paddles on the back are in a very weird spot that doesn’t feel natural to reach for. I don’t personally care for the bright RGB lighting, but some may like it. Overall: It is a good controller that could be more ergonomic with the paddles. Couldn’t use it for high level play but could use it without needing the paddles. In that case, buy a normal controller and save $50-$100

This controller felt great to hold even with smaller than average hands. I liked the weight of it as well. The issue is that there seemed to be a bit if a delay when you press a button. Couple that with trying to play a caster in ffxiv and pressing the buttons and realizing that the controller seemed to lag a full second behind. It made my ability to keep global cool downs rolling on casters like blm and even rdm kinda difficult. I tried every usb slot, controller connection, checked for updates and any background stuff that might be interfering and nothing. Replaced it with an xbox elite series 2. And now i’ve go no problems (for now) lol. Maybe i got a bad one? Others seemed to be impressed. me, not so much :-( hope you have better luck.

So BB had a nice deal going on this 3rd party controller and I thought I'd take a swing, not that anything is wrong with Microsoft's 1st party stuff - but yo always want to see if improvements can be made. This kit is built to impress and it definitely makes a strong first impression. Feels great in the hands, satisfying button click/response, customizable LED and button configs with a simple software install on the Series X, all good signs. Then I actually booted up a game (Borderlands 3 in this case). Hoo boy. When I say the stick drift was instant and immediate, I cannot overstate it. As soon as my character showed up in game, he started sliding backwards, oh so slowly. I thought, meh, it'll clear up. It did not, in fact, when I actually got into a firefight, I realized I couldn't even strafe to the left - and when I let go of the thumbstick it'd snap me back to the right instead of returning to neutral - so, in a FPS especially, absolutely unplayable. I hopped into the settings to check my dead zones and neutral, and I was immediately able to replicate the issue within the sensitivity calibration menus. Again, this was maybe 20 minutes out of the box and my getting familiarized with the extra trigger functions and such. Honestly, I'm glad this happened immediately instead of waiting a month or so to rear its ugly head so I'd have to deal with warranty and return nonsense from Razer. They might make good mice and keyboards, but I'll never waste time on their console controllers again. For a $160 product, it's an absolute sham. Also, if you run any searches relating to "Razer Wolverine Stick Drift", you'll find a passionately enraged "fan base" on Reddit where gamers with far more patience than me have given Razer 3-4 or more tries to get this right since the controller is so well built otherwise. But this fatal flaw kills an otherwise promising piece of hardware.

I strongly prefer wired controllers and this is one of the best i've found. Great for the series X and pc. the rgb adds a nice flair without being overpowering. rigid feel and changeable thumbsticks the extra button mapping is a great plus too. the ones on the back of the controller may be a bit cumbersome for people with smaller hands though.

    Effectiveness, Durability, & RGB

Took a bit to get used to, about 36 hours of play time to be at the top of my game. But once I reached it I havn't been happier. I know this is said a ton, but if you're new to razer controllers, those extra buttons (M1 & M2) are so natural to press without compromising the feel of Lb & Rb. Durability doesn't seem bad, the constrution feels nice and not cheap. The buttons although very easy to press, have not seemed to wear at all. It hasn't even been a month yet since I've owned it, but believe me when I say I'm a very brutal gamer. I play Fighters, MMOs, Shooters, etc. Some games hitting 4-6 inputs per second for hours. This controller hasn't let me down yet. The only downside is if you're into rgb, you can't change the color of the on light, only that rgb strip bar. I don't care much for rgb, and I don't mind turning off the bar or making it white like the power light so yeah. 10/10 will buy again for my pc setup.

I highly recommend this controller to anyone is who is sick of dealing with faulty sticks and buttons on the elite 2 and who is serious about competitive gaming..it does have a very small amount of drift but you can change it in the settings and it's still able to run .10(fairly low) on both sticks without drifting unlike the 3 elite series I went through..the buttons feel so much faster and responsive as well..only had if for a couple weeks so can't speak to much on durability but no issues yet..would buy again!

I am a bit conflicted. The controller feels good but because all of the extra buttons cannot be remapped to macros, it really taps into my cognitive dissonance. Theres no strategic reason to have access to the same buttons on front also on the back. You cant say for fighting games because there are better pads designed for that if thats your goal. Honestly, if it was 50 bucks cheaper to $100 and just removed the useless buttons, it would be a great controller. It has a decent weight to it which I like

Love this controller. This was a second one to use with my series x, my original is still going strong and I use it on my PC. Only xbox controller I have had in the past 6 years that has not had stick drift. Quality is awesome and I love the placement of the paddles on the back.

Love this controller. Feels high quality, most of it is made of metal. The extra button inputs are fun to play around with. Love the rgb but I’m a sucker for it. I’d recommend getting it on sale because it is a bit spendy otherwise.
