The RCA universal streaming remote is a programmable remote control for up to 3 devices. This remote is rechargeable and does not require any batteries which is a relief for many remote users. Small and light, this remote charges quickly through a usb-c connection and the programming is a simple process. There’s an extensive list of codes for all kinds of TV, streaming player, soundbar, digital tuner, projector, amplifier and cable box manufacturers. I was able to quickly connect my LG TV, Roku streaming player and JBL soundbar by entering the codes manually. There’s an automatic code search option but it’s more time consuming than doing it manually. A nice feature of this remote is the shortcut keys that can give you direct access to YouTube, Disney +, Hulu and Netflix. With my Roku streamer the Netflix and Hulu shortcut keys worked perfectly. Those shortcut keys also offer macro functions which means they can be programmed to perform specific functions. Through trial and error I was able to set up the macro keys to stream Disney + and YouTube. It was a more complicated process than I thought. Once the programming was completed, the remote performed well and proved to be reliable. This remote is rechargeable and I haven’t noticed any change in performance after a few days of constant use. RCA claims 6 months of battery life, this remains to be seen. It is quite small and on the thin side. I’d rather it be a little bit bigger since it has a tendency to slip from my hands. The layout is simple with arrow keys instead of number keys and they are very responsive. The signal is also reliable even at a good distance. For someone with no more than 3 devices to control, this remote is a great option with its ease of programming but for the macro functions which could be simpler to set up. I find it reliable and built with good quality materials. A good find in the crowded universal remote world.

This RCA Universal Streaming Rechargeable Remote Pro Select Series controls up to 3 devices at a time. I have it set to control my Smart TV, my soundbar, and my smart gaming monitor. The features that I love most about this remote are as follows: It’s rechargeable and last up to 6 months. It has quick access buttons to the streaming services that I use most, which are Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and YouTube. It’s super easy to program your devices. It controls the volume and all aspects of the devices you use. It’s very thin and lightweight. It is only 1/2” thin. It comes with the USB-C cable to charge it. It works with every brand that I have in my home, and I tried it with all the devices I have, including different televisions manufactured as way back as 10 years ago. I love that I will never ever have to replace the batteries. You can use it as far as 40 feet away. This even works with my sons gaming console. It comes with a booklet that has all the manufacturers listed with codes to use to program your devices. I’d recommend this in a heartbeat. I’m actually going to get a couple more of these for the different rooms in our home.

There’s some things I like about RCA’s Universal 3 Device Universal Remote, and some things I don’t. First, the things I like: it’s got an internal rechargeable battery, that’s great! You don’t see too many remotes like that. This particular remote control is made well, it’s slick, thin, and keeps buttons to a minimum. Programming. It is pretty easy. Once you read the instructions, pretty standard when it comes to universal remotes, you find the brand of the TV you want to program for example, press a few buttons and that’s it. The instructions and all the codes are included in the box, I remember years ago when I was fiddling with other universal remotes, there was a way to program a universal remote even without codes, you can do that here too, just press a few buttons to get the remote cycling between its codes and then once your device turns off, that’s it it’s programed, gives you a different way to go about things if the usual way gives you problems. The things I don’t like: Would of been nice if this remote had a screen, even if it’s just a little one. Backlit keys would’ve been awesome but nope, not here. The remote is a little too simple for my taste, some extra labeling to know what some buttons are for would’ve been nice.

Nice Replacement Remote for Apple TV & Roku TV

I got this remote for my bedroom TV. I have a Roku TV that, as the name implies, has Roku built in. I also have an Apple TV and a Fire streaming stick connected. The reason I have so many different systems is various services I use have been pulled from one system but available on others. Examples - YouTube TV was pulled from Roku for a while and a local news channel was pulled also. Anyway, I was hoping this single remote could control all these devices. I can control 2 but not all three. If I had a sound bar, I should be able to control that as well. The remote itself is actually quite good. It was easy to program for the devices I control. The TV I am controlling is a 24" Element Roku TV. The streaming device is an Apple TV. This remote works great with both devices. I especially like using this remote with my Apple TV. The worst thing about Apple TV is the original remote. This makes Apple TV much more user friendly. The shortcut buttons worked great to open the intended apps. The buttons feel good and solid. You can easily tell a button has been pushed. There is an indicator light that tells you a button has been pushed. The remote is very light and rechargeable via a USB C Cable. No batteries required. The battery is not intended to be replaceable but with the right tools and a little persistence, it can be replaced. Just note it’s not a typical off the shelf battery and it might be tough to find if you want to try this. My issues with the remote are (1) the print on the instructions and the code list is tiny. I had to go hunting for reading glasses to program the remote. (2) I could not for the life of me program the user programmable buttons. I followed the instructions and tried at least 6 times to get it to open YouTube TV. It always retained the factory programming. Not sure if it was me or the remote but it should have worked. The instructions were clear enough and the procedure seemed simple. (3) This remote uses infrared and needs line of sight to work. If you have a streaming device that connects to its remote via Bluetooth or some other radio signal (like Apple TV or some other streaming stick) that hides behind a TV or a speaker, this remote might not work for you. I was able to relocate my Apple TV so it would work but I can see issues with Roku or Fire Sticks. If you are looking for a replacement remote for a streaming device like a Roku Ultra or Apple TV, this could be for you. There is a little learning curve but it works well with the products I’m using it with.

Awesome But Not Perfect... But that's Ok

The RCA - Rechargeable 3-Device universal remote is winner. I'll start by pointing out my singular complaint: The IR emitter is low output and highly coherent, translated, narrow in projection. What this means is that the infrared emitter doesn't output enough signal to bounce off of walls and needs to be pretty much pointed at the receiving device. But that's Ok for my use. And that low output is a tradeoff for long battery life between charges. So I'll take it. Moving on to what is awesome about the RCA - Rechargeable 3-Device remote are the following items: It's low cost but they didn't 'cheap out' - it has a USB-C charging port. What a concept! Coupled with the rechargeable internal battery that is rated to last up-to 6 months, this is great. No more wasteful battery replacement and you can charge with any modern mobile phone USB-C terminated charger. I highly recommend this remote for it's broad compatibility, especially if you want an alternative to what Roku provides. The RCA - Rechargeable 3-Device universal remote does a lot in a very simple, straightforward, small package. This remote is small but the button spacing is perfect IMHO. And it works great as a replacement to the Roku remote - which isn't our favorite remote on the table. More broadly, this remote can control our BD player, our Roku and our TV... all with ease. Which takes me to what is probably the MOST awesome part of this device: The massive number of devices available for assignment from the Device List.

The RCA Universal Remote (RCS03WB) is a really good universal remote. This remote charges by a USB cable and it is said that the charge can last up to 6 months. Everyone can appreciate the fact that you don't have to buy batteries. The remote is very lightweight and comfortable in your hand. It is a 3 function remote allowing you to program your TV, streaming device, audio, or a soundbar. Choose 3. Out of the box the remote is pre-programmed to most Samsung TVs ( mine was one of them) and Roku devices. Programming to my soundbar was easy and it connected properly. The instructions come with code lists for various devices. The code programming is straight forward and worked perfectly for me. The remote is an IR remote and has very good range. Of course you do need to have a sight line to the devices. Range is quite good. There are pre defined buttons on the remote for Youtube, Discovery, Netflix, and Hulu which really adds to the convenience. The remote is very responsive to touch and reacts to the device instantly with no lag. I like having a universal remote versus individual remotes for the various devices. This remote is working well for me.

What is included is the remote, instruction manual, a list of codes, and a short USB-C charging cable (no wall plug). Charging the control is straightforward with a USB power source; once plug, a red LED light indicates charging, and a green LED light means the remote is fully charged. To connect a device to the control, first turn on the device, find the code list for the type of device and brand (do this first and keep it handy), press and hold the device you want to program for about 2 seconds (e.g., TV/Streaming player/Soundbar…), then enter the five-digit code, and lastly, test your device with the control. Note that entering the codes on the remote requires viewing the diagram in the instruction manual because the remote doesn’t have number bottoms. I guess not having numerical bottoms allowed the design for a very thin remote. I only use this product to control the TV and the soundbar. I enjoy the quick access bottoms to Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and Hulu. I am pleased with this remote: easy to program, ultra-thin design, extremely light weight and USB-Type C rechargeable.

Replace a lost remote or cleanup the coffee table

Juggling dozens of remotes can become a chore when all we want to do is watch a movie or listen to music. The inexpensive RCA remote lets us take the three most used devices and combine what we usually need into one. Set up was fast. The hardest part (if that’s even the right phrase) is entering the six digit code from the included chart for each device you want controlled. The LG TV took 30 seconds. ROKU wast already preprogrammed and ready to use. Our SONOS sound bar took another mere 30 seconds. Done! The remote is just big enough to do what is is designed to. Like most remotes, it will get stuck between the couch cushions. RCA knows how annoying that can be when one of the remote’s keys (buttons) is pressed while lost in the cushions, and automatically saves the battery’s power by shutting it off after 15 seconds. Clever, huh? The built in batteries are easy to recharge with the modern included “C” port charger cable. It’s said to last around 6-months. The layout is straightforward and quick to learn. Volume, dedicated Netfix, Disney, Hulu and YouTube keys are located on the bottom of the controller. A nice large joystick wheel is centered for easy use with your thumb or dominant finger. Just below that are the standard rewind, pause/play and forward keys followed by the mute, rewind/replay and * options keys. All in all it is easy to set up and use. It’s a sustainable device from its recyclable packaging to its rechargeable batteries.

    Inexpensive Replacement Remote W/USB-C Recharge

First impressions and use - This remote includes an instructional and programming guide that can also be found online. After opening the box and charging this remote - I decided to put it to the test. I was hoping to use this both with an older samsung television and a brand new samsung gaming monitor that includes the ability to use it as a smart tv. I had no issues programming it for use with the older television, an apple TV unit and as an added bonus it even works with a LG soundbar. This was great as it consolidates two remotes into one for our media room setup. After trying numerous settings with my new gaming monitor - I was not able to get it to work with that. I have no issue with that as it never said it was compatible and this device was inexpensive and there is a perfect alternate use in out home for it. Physical Operation - Charge it up and program per the guide. There is an online version available which is a huge plus as the included paper version is in exceptionally tiny print. What I love: Inexpensive replacement for many devices. Advertised 6 month battery life with standard charging Room for improvement: Use slightly more paper and larger print for the included paper guide. Unit does not appear to be updatable to support newer tech

I really like this remote! I have 3 remotes that I use and I was pretty happy with the setup until I got one of these universal streaming remotes. My TV life is definitely much better with this remote control from RCA. One of the reasons I didn't move to a universal remote is that most of them are fairly gaudy with too many buttons. I want a very clean look with simple to use buttons and large buttons. I really dislike the remotes with what seems like hundreds of buttons. This remote is clean and it's small and cute! It's a really tight design which the box doesn't really show very well. Take a look at my pictures to see how small the remote is. The buttons are a good size and the remote itself is just the right size for a modern three device setup. In terms of setup. It's a chore to set up, but no harder than any other universal remote I've tried before that doesn't have an internal screen. There are a few buttons you have to press to tell the remote which device brand you're going to use and you test it out after programing. I have fairly popular brands: Google, Sony TV, TiVO... However, this is not a bluetooth or RF remote so if you have devices that don't do IR or can't relay signals through HDMI CEC the remote won't work--think Google brand Chromecast with Google TV 4K or HD (which is what I have). I'm pretty impressed with this remote and I recommend it!

Very good remote. Easy to set up and use. Make sure you can read because I went through a whole line of tv codes for the wrong tv. If I would have read like a normal person, the one I needed for our tv there was just one… and it worked. Not dog friendly. Especially for dogs that chew everything non edible. Would still be working if it weren’t for our non edible item chewing dog. Time to purchase this again. This time, I shall read correctly.
