I have never bought anything refurbished before and NEVER will again. I ordered this online as a gift for my daughter. As soon as it was delivered, I knew somrething was wrong. The Ipod dock was broken off completely, the CD player wont open, there are huge chunks taken out of both speakers,and the speakers just plain dont work. I will be returnung this to the store tomorrow!!!!

After receiving the stereo in the mail (very quickly I might add, I was impressed), I opened the package to find that the receiver had a nice big crack in it, and wood was splintering off the back of it. I plugged it in to find that the clock function would short out and not work when the system was in standby, and that the speakers (whose grilles were caved in) would not function at all (yes, I made sure the connections were ok). Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with this product and do not recommend purchasing it, as the specific refurbishing center that fixes these obviously does not care about quality in any way.

Speakers had no distortion, popping, cracking or hissing. Oh yeah, also played no music. Put another pair of speakers on and still nothing. All other features seemed to work, but what good does that do? One speaker had also been dropped and was broken on the top corner. Returned to Best Buy with no problem but when I went to buy something else, they were of no help. Barely had any stock and what was there was cheap plastic and didn't look very durable. Will shop elsewhere for another stereo. To those of you who posted earlier poor reviews, I know, You told Me so!!

i would give this a 0 star if i could. unfortunately my first bad experience with a refurbished product at best buy. the cd tray would not open. remote control had major scratches. returned and bought a sony shelf system which rocks!!!

I ordered this unit online. When it arrived, it had poor sound quality and the CD function did not perform properly. I returned it to the store. I did have excellent customer service at the store. This was my first refurbished product, I probably won't try another refurbished product.

I purchased this factory refurbed shelf unit because of price and because the specs stated "CD, CD-R/RW, WMA and MP3 playback formats". But, to my surprise, the system DOES NOT playback MP3 on a CD-R/RW. Someone PLEASE update the Specs so this is clear!! Overall, I am happy with the unit. Sounds great, the 5 CD changer works flawlessly. I give it 4 of 5 stars.

This looked like an ideal unit for my workshop, so I took a chance. Pitiful job of packing, I believe, was partly responsible for broken sides & CD that would not function. I returned it & had a replacement shipped, this time, to the store. This one looked much better but after playing CDs through most of one cycle, the player quit & refused to open. I returned it to the store for a refund & to replace it with a new & different brand in stock. Imagine how I felt when they said they would charge me $30 to retrieve my discs! I had the unit only about 24 hours. Fortunately, they were able to open it without disassembling it & told me I lucked out. What luck! In the end, I bought a new unit in stock, because Best Buy is pretty good about refunds. I did not pay the $30, by the way (their luck).

for the price a very good buy. would recommend.had no trouble as of now.

This was not worth the money! The wires for the speakers were missing, the front was busted and the cd changer would not open. We had to take back to the store and bought a completely different stereo system

Sound quality is good, speakers stands up to the wattage, Ipod docking station excellent.
