Perfect Replacement for Paper and iPad Note-Taking

I absolutely love the reMarkable Paper Pro! This device has completely transformed how I organize my work and personal life. It has replaced all my paper notebooks and even my iPad for note-taking. The writing experience is second to none—it genuinely feels like writing on paper but with the added benefit of endless pages and effortless organization.
The Marker Plus is incredibly responsive, and the eraser functionality makes it so intuitive to use. The included Book Folio in Mosaic Weave not only looks sleek but also provides great protection while maintaining a professional appearance. The lightweight design makes it easy to carry between meetings or keep handy at home for personal notes or brainstorming.
If you’re looking for a way to simplify and declutter your life while boosting productivity, this is it. Highly recommended for anyone who values a seamless blend of technology and the traditional feel of paper. 5 stars all the way!

This device lives up to its promise of providing a distraction-free and long-lasting battery notebook, making it an excellent choice for organizing and categorizing notes. However, compared to the previous version, the new pro model has a duller and grayer screen that provides lower contrast between the paper and the ink. This is a significant downside.
The writing experience is different from the previous version, and I believe it’s a matter of personal preference. I did prefer the previous version for this reason, for I found that it offered a more paper-like feel when writing. On this new version, it feels more like writing on an iPad (though much better than it)
One major issue with the software is its limited note-searching capabilities. It only supports searching for handwritten text, which is a significant limitation.
Overall, the device fulfills its promises, but there are some factors to consider when comparing it to the previous Remarkable2 version. Surprisingly, certain features are still superior to those in the previous version.

I came from the Remarkable 2. And i was little concerned about the price and the size. The size is on the bigger side and the the price is on the expensive side. If you like the remarkable 2 you will love the pro. Is a great device and the fabric cover is high quality as the leather one. It is more capable than the Remarkable 2, more storage, faster response. The screen flickering is a thing but is what you get with e ink display

Had the RMP2 and thought this woukd be a great upgrade after selling that one. Well I open and turned on and immediately noticed a dead line of pixel going 1/4 the way down the middle of the device. $750 and no quality control? Makes me second guess them. Thats a lot to spend. But mistakes happen. Ill be returning for a scribe or go back to the RMP2 idk.

The system's ease of use and lack of distractions are advantageous, comparable to a tablet; however, the mandatory membership fee and incompatibility with Kindle books are significant drawbacks.

Buyer beware- horrible support & on 2nd tablet

1st one had a "dead zone" (about 2" area in middle of tablet would not respond no matter how many times I rebooted... made sure software was up to date and tried different marker styles). Exchanged it with no issues, thank you Best Buy.
2nd one *mostly* works (which I do enjoy using) but is unresponsive at times. The 2nd bundle had a defective folio with a thread sticking out. Tried to ignore it, but unfortunately, it started to irritate me and I contacted reMarkable support. How remarkably horrible- 1st they stated they don't cover faults, then changed it to they don't cover wear and tear. What a joke on a $139 Mosaic Weave Basalt cover! If you're going to offer a "premium" product" at a premium, make sure your support and warranty is there.
Display is good but freezes at times and suffers from ghosting (this is allegedly normal). This almost feels like a prototype. I do use it often, but take very good care of my electronics. I have read about similar experiences with support, and unless this is something you feel you really need instead of a "real" tablet, STAY AWAY.

Decent Upgrade

I was skeptical at first and held off but have to admit the color RMPP is very nice. I upgraded from the RM2 and it's worth it. It's the size of an actual piece of paper, writes nicely and the highlighter is definitely a nice touch. I like the fact that the folio has a magnetic closure that keeps the pen from getting detached accidentally. Even though it magnetically attaches, it can slip off when you put it in a bag or walk around with it. All around a good purchase.
One slight drawback is the surface is a bit scratchy; not quite as smooth as the RM2. That and there is a slight delay when you write but it doesn't take that long to get used to. After using the device for a little bit, you get the hang of it and after about 15 min of using it, you're a pro.

The device is perfectly minimalist. It does a narrow scope of things extraordinarily well, rather than a broad scope of things moderately well. The interface is fairly intuitive, and the pen to paper feel is as real as it can get on an electronic device. It's highly responsive, and I've never gotten and false positives from the pen or palm. The hardware build quality is very solid. The e ink experience may take a little getting used to, if you are new to it. The handwriting to text conversion works well. On the downside, it's very expensive, so be prepared to pay a lot for a very specific tool. It's not going to do much else, but that's the point. It's also why the battery will easily get you through a week or longer.

amazing GoodNotes app. The good for the reMarkable is that I love the distraction-free environment. I also think the writing experience is very good. The feel is excellent and the functionality is just what you need. Build feels very solid and high quality. My issues are: 1) Very slow response to touch sometimes (taps and gestures). Sometimes it takes several tries. 2) A LOT of ghosting, where you can see the previous image even when you open a new notebook. 3) The backlight is VERY weak. I can hardly see any light until I get to levels 4 and 5 on the light scale. 4) Overall a very laggy experience. Minimal latency when writing, but they should have used a faster processor for everything else. 5) Hard to justify the price when you can get an iPad for about the same price and just buy a writing screen protector. Feels/functions like a $250 device. 6) A little too big to take everywhere. Over a pound in weight. Need a smaller pro version that fits in a coat pocket. 7) Sometime a little glitchy. When I wake it from sleep, it will sometimes repeatedly go back to sleep while I am writing. Resolves after a few tries, but a nuisance.
Overall, I do like the unit. But I feel a little ripped off by the price so not sure if I will keep it. Great concept, but screen light, screen responsiveness to touch, and overall processor need some work.

I absolutely love my ReMarkable Pro! While it’s on the pricier side, it’s a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about note-taking and staying focused. The writing experience is smooth, natural, and incredibly satisfying, feeling just like pen on paper. The sleek and minimalist design makes it a joy to carry around, and it seamlessly integrates into my workflow without adding bulk.
One of my favorite features is the long battery life—lasting up to two weeks on a single charge. I can take it on trips or use it daily without worrying about frequent recharging. Plus, the distraction-free setup is a blessing. No notifications, no apps—just a simple, effective tool for organizing thoughts and ideas.
If you're looking for a premium digital notebook with long-lasting battery and a sleek design, the ReMarkable Pro delivers exactly that

Better than expected! It writes beautifully and is almost like writing on paper. Uploading files to the device is easy and the highlighting snapping to the text makes my note taking so much cleaner.
I’d say it’s better than writing on an iPad Pro, and you don’t have any apps trying to distract you from your work.
Only thing I find annoying is the pinch to zoom out or in is kinda bad, you have to redo it multiple times until it realizes. The refresh rate of the screen takes some getting used to but ultimately isn’t that bad.

Finally found a product that makes me more productive and organized. I always struggled to find the right balance of Enotes and carry around notebooks. This is the perfect option. Writing is seamless and feels natural. You don't even realize you are not using a real pen and paper. I also like the option to easily switch between pens / highlighter when taking notes during the meeting. As an added bonus, the templates are incredibly useful depending on your needs.

Excellent Performance

Okay, let's craft a review focusing on the performance aspects of the reMarkable tablet. It's important to note that as of my last update (and checking current information for May 2, 2025), there isn't an official model named "reMarkable Pro." The current flagship is the reMarkable 2. Assuming "Pro" refers to its professional-grade capabilities or perhaps the reMarkable 2 itself, here's a review centered on its excellent performance:
Review: reMarkable 2 - A Masterclass in Focused Performance
When evaluating the reMarkable 2, the term "performance" takes on a specific, refined meaning. Unlike traditional tablets judged on raw processing power for gaming or multitasking, the reMarkable 2's performance shines brilliantly within its dedicated niche: providing a superior digital paper experience. In this context, its performance isn't just good; it's exceptionally well-tuned and remarkably effective.
The Pinnacle: Writing and Drawing Latency
The absolute standout feature defining the reMarkable 2's excellent performance is its writing latency. Putting the stylus (Marker or Marker Plus) to the CANVAS 2 display feels almost uncannily like writing on real paper. The ink appears virtually instantaneously, with a claimed latency of just 21ms. This isn't just a number; it translates into a fluid, natural, and responsive writing experience that is arguably best-in-class for e-ink devices. There's no perceptible lag between stroke and digital ink, allowing thoughts to flow directly onto the page without technological friction. This immediate feedback is crucial for note-taking, sketching, and annotation, making the device feel incredibly performant for its core tasks.
UI Responsiveness and Navigation
While e-ink technology inherently has slower refresh rates than LCD or OLED screens, the reMarkable 2's interface feels surprisingly snappy and efficient for its category. Powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core ARM processor and 1GB of LPDDR3 SDRAM, navigating menus, opening notebooks, turning pages in documents, and organizing files is generally smooth. While you won't get the instantaneous screen redraws of an iPad, the operations are quick enough that the device never feels sluggish or obstructive. It boots up reasonably fast and responds reliably to taps and gestures, keeping you focused on your work, not waiting for the device.
Handling Documents and Notes
The reMarkable 2 performs admirably when handling large PDF documents and extensive notebooks. Zooming and panning within PDFs are functional, and page turns are relatively swift for an e-ink display. Annotating documents feels just as responsive as writing in a blank notebook. Even with complex notes incorporating different layers, tools, and extensive writing, the device maintains its composure, rarely exhibiting lag during standard use.
Connectivity and Syncing
Performance extends to its connectivity. The Wi-Fi integration allows for seamless synchronization of notes and documents across the reMarkable cloud service and companion apps (desktop and mobile). While sync speed depends on network conditions and file size, the process is generally reliable and works efficiently in the background, ensuring your work is backed up and accessible elsewhere without demanding constant user attention.
Battery Life: The Unsung Performance Hero
Often overlooked in performance discussions, the reMarkable 2's battery life is stellar, lasting up to two weeks on a single charge with typical use. This endurance is a performance feature in itself. It means the device is almost always ready when you need it, without the constant battery anxiety associated with more power-hungry tablets. This reliability significantly contributes to a seamless and high-performing user experience.
Conclusion
The reMarkable 2 delivers excellent performance precisely where it counts for a dedicated digital paper tablet. Its ultra-low latency writing experience is industry-leading, providing an unparalleled natural feel. Complemented by a responsive (for e-ink) interface, capable document handling, reliable syncing, and outstanding battery life, the device performs its core functions with remarkable efficiency and grace. It may not be a multimedia powerhouse, but for focused writing, reading, sketching, and annotation, the reMarkable 2's performance is finely honed and truly exceptional within its category. It does exactly what it promises, and it does it incredibly well.

I love this new remarkable with color. I have the remarkable 2 and it a great device too. This new one was easier to set up and writes smoothly. I did notice a slight refresh or screen blinking at times when I’m writing. I will keep working with it for a while to see if it improves. The colors are sort of muted. So far I have no complaints. I only upgraded for the color option, which I like.

While I certainly appreciate and still love writing on paper, as a professional who takes lots of notes I love having them stored in one location. The writing experience is fantastic, the colors are great, the screen is large and battery life is great. The backlight is a game changer when compared to the Remarkable 2. Extremely satisfied. It's expensive but well worth the price.

This is an excellent product, the quality of build and performance is exceptional. Battery life is well over 10 days of continuous use. It is not a connected device for browsing. I expected the colour options in the pro to be a bit better.
That said, the product is somewhat overpriced for what it does and will be challenged by more affordable alternatives.

The Paper Pro has a good writing feel and is much better than my old spiral ring notebooks. The Paper Pro has decent battery life for me … 2-3 days use before charging required. The Paper Pro has significant ghosting when changing documents which is annoying. I’ve got to close the tablet and re-log in to clear the ghosting. Friends who have other coworkers that have other remarkable products don’t see this level of ghosting. If I knew now when making purchase decision I would have purchased a different product.

Coming from the prior black and white remarkable generation still for sale, im hard pressed to see this as a valuable updgrade. From a pros standpoint, this device is much faster and the extra screen size makes it more comfortable. From a cons, the software is very buggy requiring multiple restarts every week and the way the color refreshes the screen to display is slow and jarring. I fully recommend the Remarkable 2, this one may need another generation to be worthwhile.
