Absolutely love this monitor! No issues in daylight or night time and really enjoy the ability to move the camera remotely. Setup was easy and the monitor and controls are easy to learn and use. The picture is crisp and clear day or night. The control pad and included monitor are straightforward and easy to learn. There is no additional app to download. Everything you need is in the box and the range is excellent. We had the camera about 100ft from the monitor and there were zero issues. Having the option to reposition the camera remotely is great so you can get the best view without disturbing the baby or puppy.. While it wasn’t necessarily needed for my use, the ability to play a lullaby would be particularly useful for a baby. We actually used this to Monica puppy in a crate and the 2 way talking feature was helpful. Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing a baby monitor or puppy monitor who wants the ability to talk and get a clear view both day and night. Truly impressed.

The Rexing Baby monitor with night vision and 2 way communication is more than just a baby monitor, it is now my personal kitchen watch guard at night. Yes, I have 4 kids and snacks, drinks, candy, and food come up missing on a daily and nightly basis. I wanted a way to monitor real time the kitchen at night with being able to be alerted. The main reason is to break their habits so they live healthier lives unlike myself growing up. Enter the Rexing 4.5" Video monitor, this has already shown to be an amazing product for what I needed and the same results will be for your baby viewing during your every day life. The 720p IPS screen is easy to see your baby or child but is not high end HD, there are better at the same price point. The night vision is decent, you can easily see your baby while sleeping and you will not have to wake them up to check on them, that is a huge plus, 4 kids, I know the struggle. The rotating head works decent, but it is very slow to react via the buttons on the monitor. Just tapping the button will not do anything, you have to hold down the key for the rotation you want for a second or 2 to get it one notch at a time. The 2 way communication works fine, a little quiet on the monitor but decent on the camera side. There are sound and cry detection, no visual detection. So, if my kids are super quiet, they could possibly get by the camera but they are noisy and I am not saying a word. You can be up to 1000 feet away and that is without any WiFi, you only need a plug. The camera unit is honestly a unusual size and design making mounting a little weird, you need something a little better than a cheap plastic wall mount. The camera is not extremely heaving but it is not light and the weight is not centered to the product, it is more front heavy which means it will only pull away from the wall with a cheap bracket. Overall, the Rexing baby monitor is a good choice but could use a little diet, touch screen for ease as the touch pad is finicky, and a slightly better screen. Pros: Setup within minutes 6 hours of screen on time battery 13 hours of audio only Rotating camera Sensitive sound pickup Recording function Long Distance Reach Cons: Price is a little steep Rexing is still proving themselves in the tech industry No Touchscreen No visual movement detection I am happy with the Rexing monitor as it does what I need it too.

Turns to black, the night vision turns off. What's the point to look over at black monitor? Not sure if temp is correctly reading.

The Rexing 4.5” Video Baby Monitor did not meet my expectations. I actually opened and starting working with this monitor about a week before my daughter was born, so I could get to know the product and compare it a little both with a different monitor I already owned. They are similar, however I liked the idea of the Rexing, as you have an independent screen to watch your baby on, vice carrying around your cellphone to monitor your little one. Out of the box, every thing looked great and I loved the simplicity of the independent componants. I loved that you can view the baby on the screen and that you can charge that screen and walk around the house with it. I carried it everywhere in my two story home, and the connection kept. That was nice, and I was impressed that I did not have to have any sort of line of sight to keep that connection. Also, I didn’t have to connect anything out of the box. Everything just worked. So, to make this easier to read, I am just going to do a pro/con list and expand on what I write about each topic. Pros: 1. Compact design, that you can carry around the house. 2. Night vision works pretty well, and camera reacts to the baby moving. This is very accurate from what I saw. 3. Camera works well sitting on a desktop or night stand near the baby. Easy to adjust and get it pointed just were you want it. Also easy to move if you want to use it somewhere else. Cons: 1. The screen resolution is less that ideal. You cannot see details in the light or in the dark. 2. If you are have to shoot the camera through any sort of netting, the camera cannot focus on two things and tends to focus in the netting. I mention this because my daughter is in a bassinette that is the same height as my nightstand next to her where the camera is. I had readjust things multiple times until it saw here vice the netting on the bassinette. This was a constant battle. 3. All the componants feel light and almost empty. The difference between buying a tablet online that you have never heard of vice one that is a brand name. That sort of thing. I didn’t like that. 4. The camera makes noise. It clicks every time it comes on and it’s enough to wake you. 5. If you forget to charge the portable screen, the low battery noise will scare the heck out of you. Especially if you are sleeping. I get the point of it, but I still didnt like it. At the end of the day, I didn’t feel comfortable trusting this product to be the go between for me to watch my baby. If I felt that way, my wife felt the same only double. Rexing makes good products. I have one of their dash cams in one of my cars and it is great. But this just missed the mark for me.

Not quite what I want in a baby monitor

This Rexing Video Baby Monitor comes extremely well packaged. It includes a camera, a 4.5” color video monitor with night vision, an attached micro usb cable for plug-in charging of the camera and a usb-a to micro usb cable for the monitor with an adapter - everything you need to use it. I wish it would come with USB-C instead of micro USB just to make my life easier - more cords is not what I need. They also include a setup guide. I have no problem with the build quality. The monitor does come with a flip down stand, and an antenna. My monitor came charged and ready to use so I jumped right in. I turned on the monitor and plugged in the camera. They were immediately connected to each other and I had a picture of the wall. I soon learned that I could move the camera right/left and up/down with a very long press of the arrow icons on the right side of the monitor. I found this control to be quite frustrating as when I wanted it to move up or down, it kept going left or right. There are a few settings which can be adjusted such as the volume; I can set a timer to remind me of feeding times; I can change the volume for the 2 way speaker, I can set it to play 1 off 8 lullabies! There are other settings as well. This baby monitor is capable of recording in color but I do not have the necessary micro SD card, so I cannot use the recording feature yet. It would have been nice if it came with one. And it has night vision to give clarity in the dark. It isn’t the best monitor, but I can see my baby in her crib with this camera/monitor which is what I really want. I can also listen to what is happening in the baby’s room or sing to her from the monitor. A cool feature is that it can measure the temperature in my baby’s room, with some accuracy, and display that on the monitor. The temp blinks on and off constantly and I don’t know how to stop that blinking. It can become annoying. I set the camera on the dresser in my baby’s room and adjusted the camera so I could see the crib. I’ve never had a baby monitor before but I know I would like an app so that I could drop in on what’s happening from my phone when I’m not at home. That way I could watch my baby, or watch the sitter with my baby, or watch anytime I’m not in front of the monitor. This baby monitor doesn’t have an app. They say the camera and monitor can be up to 1000’ apart. My distance isn’t that far. I can say during the daytime, the monitor displayed a fairly good picture. At night, with the night vision, the camera goes to grayscale which makes things come across not quite as clear, as might be expected. Overall, I’m just not sure I love this baby monitor. There are features that would make it a lot better for me. So I think I will keep on looking for one that better suits me.

Zero setup required. As soon as I plugged in the camera and powered on the monitor the picture came through clearly. Range is adequate for my 2500 square foot house and there is very little delay. The picture is clear and audio quality is adequate for the job. I like that the monitor will automatically turn on if the camera detects motion, this is more of an attention grabber than leaving the monitor on at all times. The feeding reminders and playable lullabies are a neat add on but not features that I see myself using. The 10x zoom feature would be more useful if it didn't take so many button presses to activate, I really wish this had a shortcut button near the arrow buttons. As for the arrow buttons themselves, they work but I feel like the press and hold to adjust the camera makes it a little clunky. I assume this is to prevent the camera from moving from accidental presses but I would prefer to have more responsive controls. Those are my only complaints and they are really minor considering the intended usage, it's a great product otherwise and I would recommend it to friends.

Nice monitor with a few features that are good/bad

I've used the Rexing baby monitor for about a week now and it works well. I've used a few baby monitors over the years and this one has a few cool features that I like but a couple of quirks that may or not be annoying. Pros: - Very clear picture - Easy controls - Small monitor with nice size screen - Battery life is good, should last overnight without being plugged in - The camera aims smoothly - Uses micro-USB (better than a dedicated barrel plug but not as nice as the new standard USB-c) Cons: - The zoom is not great, it gets grainy but the zoomed out picture is clear - It is not Wifi enabled. I don't mind this but a lot of people probably do Pro/Con you decide: The screen shuts off after around a minute. I couldn't find any setting on the device to change this. It has an automatic noise detection system that you can adjust and will turn the screen back on when noise is detected. I don't mind this as an overnight system but during the day it would be nice to stay on. The buttons on the monitor are not physical buttons but the touch sensitive pad. I don't mind this but physical buttons tend to be more consistent for me. One cool feature I like that I haven't seen on a monitor is they allow recording to a microSD card (not included) you install into the camera. It seems to work well and can capture those cute little moments. Overall this seems to be a good monitor and should work well for keeping an eye on the little ones.

    Modern take on reliable classic

The Rexing Video Baby Monitor is a modern take on the classic reliable monitor that many parents are used to. The camera module is sleek and sits on a base that lets it pan and tilt. It also is wall mountable. Batteryless, this unit must be tethered to a wall outlet. The monitor is a decent size, and one gets camera video when there's enough light available, nightvision otherwise. The monitor can be switched so that video is off with audio only. The monitor has a battery and can run while charging. Audio only is useful for when you just need to keep an ear on what's going on. The monitor also features two-way audio - so you can speak through a speaker on the camera to baby or whomever is on the other side. So far, this is classic reliable monitor fare and honestly, I still make heavy use of my basic monitor despite having tried out some newer smart ones. Where this gains new features is in the smart alerts. My prior "classic" monitor also has a temperature readout, but the Rexing will give you an alert if it gets too hot or too cold. Nice, useful, and unobtrusive. Also has sound detection alerts - cool. When I'm using the monitor, I'm typically listening, but late at night when working in my office, I sometimes zone out. Having an alert that breaks the monotony of the white noise like sound when nothing is going on is nice. Otherwise, scanning through functions on the monitor, this is almost exactly the same as my old infant optics one down to the flip out antenna, lullaby selections, and ability to pair multiple cameras and scan through them. Another plus one notices is the battery. With almost 1.5 times the capacity, having the monitor start the annoying "battery low" beeping around 10pm is a thing of the past. I noticed we can now regularly hit 2am with the monitor without worry that someone forgot to plug it in during the day. I know it seems basic but honestly, this is awesome. A baby monitor that just works, is easy to use, and has functionality that makes parenting easier. Five stars from me.

Great baby monitor that can record

The Rexing 4.5" video baby monitor is a great replacement for my original baby monitor that no longer seemed to pair properly. I can attest for the quality of Rexing products because I currently use one of their dash cams and it has been working problem free for the past year. In the box you will find the camera, the monitor, the camera power adapter, the monitor USB adapter and the micro usb cable and the manuals. Initial set up is extremely easy as the camera and the monitor pair automatically. If you do have any issues it clearly tells you how to manually pair the camera in the instruction manual. One thing that I appreciated about this monitor is you have the ability to add a second camera if needed and each camera has a slot for a micro sd card that give you the ability to record. The camera angles can be adjusted by using the arrow keys on the monitor and there is the ability for 2 way talk via a button on the back of the monitor. The monitor also has sound detection and temperature monitoring but the temps can take up to 2 hrs to adjust so you may not want to rely on monitor for temps. I personally have been using this monitor to help in the care taking of an elderly parent who is going through some medical treatments. Te range and battery life on the unit is pretty good but your success may vary based on walls in your house. Overall Rexing has come up with a great video baby monitor that does not rely on wifi and has the option for local recording via micro sd card.
