PSA: If you don't want the in's and out's of my install, skip to the ACTUAL REVIEW part at the bottom. That will be just my review of the product. If you want to learn some of my tips and tricks from my install read on!! So I want to preface by saying I am used to electronics work. My hobbies include PC buidling/design, Custom FPV Drone builds, Neopixel Lightsaber builds, I built my own 3D printer and a plethora of other projects like that. I have worked in consumer electronics retail for years and now work in B2B sales for Educational technology at a big tech company. So while I don't consider myself an expert by ANY means, it is important to know I'm also not what I would call a "Novice". This kit is incredibly easy to install HOWEVER this is drastically impacted by the make and model of your car. So be aware I am reviewing this kit after installing it in a 2013 Ford Fusion SE which I would rate as average to slightly higher than average difficulty due to the amount of bolts, clips, and joints in the interior panels (I also grew up working on, fixing, and building cars so I have SOME automotive background although here I WOULD consider myself closer to a Novice. So after a little research I decided on this dash cam for a few reasons, mainly of which was the fact that it can record in 2k, was stealth, and had a backup camera. I live in a very large city and wanted a dash cam for evidence like many (Houston drivers can be crazies). I wanted it stealth for the fact that cars get broken into constantly in Houston and the fact that when looking at my car from the outside you can't tell it has a cam (check out my pictures, obviously it was taken on an overcast day but still you CANNOT see the front camera unit), reduces onlookers from taking an interest. Mounting the front cam is as easy as you would think, just use the elastic straps to secure around the OEM mirror (working to figure out a way to delete the mirror and mount LCD directly but as of now there is no kit for this system to do so). The rear cam was a little more involved. I mounted mine above the license plate by the trunk pop button (See pictures). I drilled one hole through the plastic for the cable, and one though the trunk lid to get the wire inside, then I sealed both with High Temp gasket maker I had left over from a CPU de-lid project. Quick tip for rear cam install: Go buy some 3m Extreme Outdoor VHB Mounting tape. I had some left over from a drone build and so I used the included mounting pad for the rear cam as a template, cut a new one out of VHB, cleaned the cam mounts and car mounting point with 90% isopropyl, then heated the pad slightly, stuck it all together and clamped for 2 mins. I am telling you there will be NO NEED for screws if you do this!! I use this stuff to mount vTXs in my drones that I crash at 60-70 mph and it doesn't come free. I think it can handle a tiny 20 gram camera (I did put screws in mine though because I love overkill). Seriously the plastic cover it is mounted to will break before the VHB. The stock mounting pad that comes in the box is mediocre at best and while it will hold at first I feel the longevity of that pad is questionable. VHB will be VERY difficult to remove should you ever decide to BUT with some heat and patience you can get it off without damage to the car. I bought a $4 wire tap from Autozone to tap into the taillight power for backup automation and then snaked all my wiring through the car behind interior panels. I have not yet installed my GPS (This is the easiest thing to route and install so I just haven't done it because to me it is not essential. A combination of hiding behind panels and running up under the headliner have made it so NO wires are visible. Be careful to tuck wires to the outside of side airbags though so in case they deploy it doesn't harm you. I am using the rear cigarette lighter socket to power my unit because I didn't want to order a Smart hardwire kit and go through all of that. Another tip: Zip ties are your best friend!!! Zip wires to other harnesses to keep cable management neat, tidy, and looking like a factory install. I probably used 30-40 in my install just to make everything look clean. ACTUAL REVIEW: Now for the real REVIEW of this purchase. This camera system for $200 in my honest opinion is a STEAL. I know there are cheaper versions online and there are people complaining about video quality and blah blah blah, but for the price and ALL YOU GET, this is a solid investment for an older vehicle like mine. For reference when I bought my car in 2014 a "tech package" with a rear camera was $5000-6000. I was fresh out of college when I bought my Fusion and couldn't afford a Fusion with a rear cam and have regretted it EVER since. Not anymore. This system solved my backup cam issue, dashcam desires, and gave me a fun Sunday afternoon project. The build quality is excellent, the LCD is bright, vivid and impressive for the price point and it acts as a mirror when turned off. I paired my unit with a 256gb Sandisk Ultra with 130mbps write speed and it records 2k with ease. With a card that size I don't have to worry about storage because I have plenty. Even when its storage is full this unit does looping overwrites of old data. The camera views are sharp. The rear cam like some have reported is a BIT zoomed in for my liking but for someone who has NEVER owned a car that had a rear cam, it's fantastic. I love the navigation through the menus of the system and playing back videos is easy!! Calibrating "Smart" system is easy although not so much worth it as I will get to next. Now the not so great stuff. The "Smart Driving" assists are a joke. Don't get me wrong they "work" but unless you want a female voice with a strong accent yelling at you ever 3.872 seconds that there is an obstacle behind or in front of you (or worse, every time you change lanes ON PURPOSE it yells at you), you will be inclined to turn it off. Rexing PLEASE just make the warning sounds loud auditory beeps with increasing volume and speed like OEM warning systems have. Your sounds make the system sound cheap and I honestly turned off the front facing features after 2 drives because they were just WAY to annoying. I did keep the rear system enabled though to assist with blind spots and backing up. Overall this system is a win. a few things I wish it had though: - Simultaneous dual cam recording so I could have front and rear split screen footage. - Beeps instead of voice for warnings. - Color balance options for video feeds. - Bluetooth and app control to view videos (This one is asking a lot at this price point but heck I wanna dream OK!! - Included or EVEN purchasable direct mount/OEM mirror delete mounts so that I could completely get rid of my bulky, heavy, ugly OEM mirror that is doing nothing anymore and JUST have my LCD mirror. - Instead of FULL screen sleep, make it so when my screen goes to sleep the dash cam video remains on the right side in the bottom corner as a small (thinking 3"x2" image) so I can still see my recording but also use my LCD mirror functions. All this said if you have a need for a dash cam, a backup cam, and some smart drive functionality, for an older car without them, you really can't go wrong. Make sure to install it carefully/correctly and it will feel like it came with the car. This has added SOOOO many features I always wanted and now I don't have to take out a $30,000 car loan to get in a new car to get them. Instead I have everything I want in a car I love and have paid off. This is a $200 upgrade that has brought me a ton of value and will be able to enjoy every day. Hope this helps you.

The Rexing M2 2K Mirror Dash Cam is a great product overall. The front camera delivers excellent video quality, and the rear camera is better than decent—it's good enough to use confidently while parking. Installation was a bit tricky, but if you're tech-savvy and comfortable with tools, it’s very manageable. The Smart BSD, ADAS features, and built-in GPS add a lot of value and peace of mind while driving. My only real complaint is that it doesn’t record from both the front and rear cameras at the same time, which would have made it even better. Still, for the features, quality, and performance it offers, it’s definitely worth considering if you're looking for a reliable rear view mirror to counter awful blindspots.

Pros: great quality product, 2k in front 1080p in rear, adjustable camera angles for both cameras from touch screen mirror. Cons: Can't read license plates well during night time, does not record both cameras simultaneously, keeps time in 24hr format, Blind Spot Detection doesn't really work.

The forward-facing camera works great. The rear-facing camera should match the front but doesn’t. Daytime is fine but at night the headlights wash out the image around them, like a huge cotton ball is coming up behind you, which doesn’t occur on the from-facing camera. The GPS antenna works fine but in order to pick up satellites for its use it must be placed in the sun which warped the plastic casing making it unusable and now the antenna just floats around on the dash. Four months after I bought it the touch portion of the screen stopped working so I can either view it as the standard view or turn it off, navigation through the menus is not possible. Overall I would not recommend buying this dash cam.

I've always wanted to try a digital rear view mirror camera, like some newer cars have built in. This camera did not disappoint. It was simple to install. Running the two wires was easy and simple enough to hide. The rear camera has a 3M sticker for the glass which made it easy as well. The wire is long enough to run the entire length of my car (Honda Accord) and the quality of the camera is pretty good! The front facing camera records/displays in 2K, but the rear is 1080p - which seems slightly odd as that's the one you're looking in 99% of the time. My only issue is the screen quality - I feel I need to sit further back to see it clearer - but aside from that, it's still amazing! It has several features I haven't grasped just yet, such as Lane Departure, Collision Avoidance, etc. However, don't look for these to save the day. The only way collision avoidance will work is if you're actively viewing the forward camera, which is not what you would normally do with a rear view mirror. Also, the blind spot monitoring is "interesting". It has VERY LITTLE instruction on how to set it up. On the screen, it just shows 2 parallelograms and lets you move them around. No real instruction on what they mean. Last small complaint - it has no software interface. NONE - at all. There is no wifi or bluetooth connection. There is nothing. If you want to view the videos, you must remove the MicroSD card and take it to a computer. From there, you can manually view the files, or install the Rexing software which allows you to see telematics such as GPS and speeds, etc. Even firmware updates are non-existent as of now - the website just says "coming soon". Aside from that, I'm a pretty satisfied customer considering it's all similar product with various brand names on it. The voice it uses in English is hard to understand, but I don't use it anyway. So, camera it is.

The Best Dash Cam for the money.....

The Rexing MT 2-2K front rearview mirror dash cam is the best thing I’ve seen so far for the price it has. The installation was really super easy, so easy a teenager could do it. The SD card capability is great. The dash cam let’s review mirror record over and over and over so you don’t have to go in and delete anything to make room for more videos. If you need a recorded camera for an accident or anything like that, then all you would have to go in and pull the SD card and put it in an SD card reader, and make a video copy of it, for the insurance company. I wish I would’ve had this dash cam when I got into an accident. I was going through a an intersection with a green light and some guy pulled in front of me and I ran my car into the side of him, I had two green lights and it still didn’t do any good because, his friend was in a car behind him so, it was two witness's against me. If I would have had this dash cam and the accident recorded, I would have won the insurance case. His vehicle had $12,000,00 in damages and my vehicle had $4,000.00 in damages. Support for this mirror is fantastic usually one day and the return support is usually like within 12 hours. The Rexing M2 2K front rear mirror dash cam is worth the money and investment.......

Purchased mainly for its backup camera feature. Received it and was happy to install it. The mirror itself was easy to install and use as a front dash cam. The issues arose once I tried to install the rear camera, not because of the install but rather because of the way the camera is made and how it’s displayed on the mirro screen. For some reason when sat perfectly level, the camera was tilted amd the feed was at an angle which looked weird. Additionally, the backup camera is too zoomed in and makes everything look super close even if you have room left. We tried in different scenarios and adjusted the camera location many times, it just wouldn’t work properly. The backup camera lines and zoom arent able to be adjusted meaning you’re screwed if you want to use it to back up correctly. Ended up returning it and buying a standalone backup camera. Perhaps its good as a dash cam because the quality of the feed wasn’t bad, but for my intended use it wasnt good. It does have cool features such as blind spot monitor, so as long as you’re not using it as a backup camera you should be fine.

I have had this dash cam for a few months now and I love it. Its was easy to install in my 2022 Honda Accord SE Sport. All I needed was the rexing wiring kit and some fuse taps. I can see alot wider view than i could from my standard rear view mirror. The video quality is great as well. I have the rear view camera in my back window and it records great footage from both cameras. I highly recommend and for those complaints about battery drainage or not working properly more than likely it wasn't installed correctly.

Ok im going to start with the good because i probably just got a bad unit but chose to return it and buy another brand from another store. The image quality is actually pretty good for 2K resolution in the front and 1080P for the rear camera, the unit only does 30fps not to be confused with Light Flickering assistance of 50hz and 60hz whivmch helped a bit for that. It does have GPS, which was very accurate when it came to speeds with the information i had displayed on my dashboard of my car. I used a samsung Pro Enduro 256GB micro Sad card and took it with zero problems and formatted quickly. You can set 1, 2 or 3 minute recording clips, You van also adjust the guidance lines for the back up camera, lange change asist etc which i though was a cool feature it also only needs 5 volts 2 amps of power so if you want to use it on a electric kick scooter or motorcycle where you cant use the included power wire, you can use a shorter length USB Mini to USB A cable and a power bank that supports 5 volts 2 amps per hour. If you have a 10 amp power bank, you can easily get up to 5 hours of use with rhe dashcam at its max brightness with all settings ON. Lets talk about the issues i had with it and why i returned it. 1. The unit wouldn't always want to start up and i would have to remove the dashcam from the mirror and use a safety pin to press on the reset button which is located on the back of the dashcam. I feel this reset button should be relocated next to the power button with its name to not confuse it for the mic and damage the mic by accident. 2. The time is in Military time and I could never get it to go to AM or PM. The manufacturer said that the GPS plugged in would automatically set my time to my correct time zone, but it didn't. 3. The time kept reseting its self every time the 1, 2 or 3 minute recording increments would start a new clip and that was getting annoying to deal with. Unlike other units that are cheaper in its class like the Wolfbox G930 with a slightly smaller display this unit only does 2K resolution vs 4k resolution. it does not support split screen to see the front and rear at the same time, It does not support 180 degree rear camera rotation/flip should you need to position the camera upside down based on how the bracket is installed for tilting/angling. The camera uses USB Mini instead of Type C for power and for some this may not be an issue but alot of mirror dash cams have switched over to USB C which is alot easier to find now vs USB Mini. While the camera worked i thought it was great, i love the size of the screen and how bright it gets on level 5 which is the max brightness level. The 2k resolution does not cause the dashcam to get any hotter since it only does 30fps no matter if its 2k or 1080P. For its price it should be doing 4k resolution at 30fps or 2K/1080P at 60fps for a smoother video. One thing i almost forgot to mention is that my video clips also had a choppy look like the bit rate was too low and having it at 30fps made the videos look like they were recorded in stop motion. There is no way of adjusting the bit rate on this dashcam either. Because i went through trouble with it i cannot recommend it and would advice you do some extra research to find the right mirror style dashcam for your needs. I wish this camera would have worked well but it didnt. I am grateful for having the bestbuy paid membership as it allows me a 60 day return window which would have been very bad for me to be stuck with a defective unit and have to deal with the manufacturer havling only the standard 15 day window. I highly recommend you get that membership it has already become helpful for me.

Very good Dash cam does as advertised just the Rear camera is of less quality than the front 4k think the back is 1080p which getss glared and blurred through the windows. Im planning to mount it on the outside of the car for better vision. Really wish the rear camera was 4k as well but it records everything and even has option to be hardwired to record while parked

Very useful when since my current rear view mirror is obstructed most of the time by packages. The display and clarity is better than one of my televisions regardless of the time of day. My new Rexing M2-MAX Dashcam -- professionally installed by Geek Squad -- provides many benefits and makes driving my 2011 automobile MUCH SAFER! The rear camera provides a wide 170° view, which helps me to see what's happening behind and beside me, almost completely eliminating the typical blind spots. Plus, whenever I'm in "Reverse", the backup camera view automatically comes on, making it much easier to park and maneuver in tight spaces. All the images and videos (front & rear) are automatically saved to the SD card. It's great! I love it!

Very good dash camera. But the main purpose of this is to be used as rear view mirror to see wider angle. I barely have to use my side mirrors when making tuns. Also very good at night when there’s low visibility. But if a car with high beam lights is very close to the rear you only see a white flash right behind you. One think that disappointed me was the gps is not to find-track your car, it just to have the location on file in case of an event happens like a crash. Also very helpful as a backup camera because the camera points downwards when car is in reverse. 2 features I wish it had was voice commands and dual recording rear and front simultaneously. But I guess you can find those Features on the Rexing M3 version
