They do exactly what i purchased them for, to keep me informed on what is going on around my home. They no longer make them but i still purchased the Certified refurbished one from Best Buy and so far they are in great condition.

The camera quality is amazing and we are able to speak with whoever is at the door and also get notifications for movement in front of the camera. Definitely worth it!!

With comparing to other doorbells, hands down the best overall, especially with the removable battery option. Always have an extra battery fully charged and ready to go makes it simple.

We agree that getting the most life from your Ring Video Doorbell 2 battery is essential, so that it can provide you with round the clock coverage. The rechargeable battery can go months between recharges with normal use. The battery life is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment such as the local weather and the number of activities captured.
Recharging your device battery every couple of days is not the kind of experience we intend for you to encounter. We would like to personally investigate this for you and make sure we find the best solution. Will you please reach out to us today?

It’s not what it appears

Don’t recommend it if you’re not an electrician. Basically, it was not as simple as it appears to be as advertised with installation and I just really did not have the time or energy to wire /rewire a doorbell. I was sort of expecting like a plug and go type situation and what I received was the opposite.

The Ring Video Doorbell 2 is designed to connect you to 1080p HD video consistently and reliably. We understand how important the video feature is, as this allows you to clearly see your visitors.
Poor video quality can sometimes be caused by a wifi issue. We recommend running a distance test in order to discover what video resolution you are receiving at your router, compared to how it performs when mounted outside. For the best results, please do the following:
1. Remove your Ring Doorbell from its mounting location and bring it into the same room as your wifi router.
2. On your smartphone please turn off your cellular data and connect to the same 2.4GHz wifi network as your Ring device.
3. Open your Ring app on your smartphone.
4. Trigger a motion event or ring the bell on your Ring Doorbell.
5. Examine the resulting video.
There are two possibilities that will occur during the distance test: the device will have crisp and clear video as it is intended to have, or the video will still be of poor quality. If you find that the video is clear, then we recommend improving the wifi signal getting to your Ring Doorbell by connecting it to a wifi extender, such as the Ring Chime Pro. However, if you find that the video is still of poor quality, then you will want to address issues with your wifi speeds.

Defective Ring Video Doorbell 2
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ring tech support knows that the Ring Video Doorbell 2 is defective, but refuses to replace their defective product because it is out of warranty. RING STOP SELLING DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS! I got sick and tired of having to recharge my Ring Battery so, I installed a mechanical chime and a transformer to automatically recharge my Ring Video Doorbell 2. I followed all the instructions and ensured that I bought a compatible mechanical chime and transformer. After the installation, everything worked correctly. The next morning, my ring doorbell did NOT work with my mechanical chime. In the afternoon, my ring doorbell did work with my mechanical chime. Before dinner, my ring doorbell did NOT work with my mechanical chime. After dinner, my ring doorbell did work with my mechanical chime. So, I called Ring tech support and we performed a hard reset, which got my Ring doorbell to work with my mechanical chime. The following day, my ring doorbell did not work with my mechanical chime. I called tech support again, and we figured out that my Ring Video Doorbell 2 was actually defective. They told me that I was out of warranty and told me to purchase another Ring doorbell or buy more stuff from their company to fix their defective product. If I now know you are selling detective products, and you are not willing to replace your defective products, then why should I buy another product from Ring again? I am not buying anything from Ring again and I will be switching to Eufy video doorbell. There are other cheaper, no subscription, and better alternatives. Ring’s customer service was one of the best things about Ring at one point, but since that is gone. It might be better to look for alternatives.

The Ring Doorbell 2 is intended to send audio notifications to a compatible internal mechanical chime kit, so you know when visitors arrive at your home.
All our devices do come with a limited one-year warranty, in which Ring will repair or replace any Ring products that malfunction due to defective parts or workmanship, at no charge to you. There is also an extended warranty available through our Ring Protect Plus Plan option. For extended warranty coverage to apply to your Ring device, the device must be within its original one-year warranty period when you subscribe to Ring Protect Plus.
