So easy to install. You only need to find where the cable enters you house and an electrical outlet. Once installed, you get less tiling and less interruptions.

Major upgrade over some old Realistic amplifiers

I had some old Realistic powered amplifiers that were on their last leg. Not power efficient and had trouble getting a major network in the Houston area. This Rocketfish was a major upgrade on both fronts. I have 2 of them and now all my TV's pick up all the channels with no signal issues I was previously experiencing. Price is right on these as well when looking at other options. I'd like to see them come out with a larger 8 port amplifier.

Now I don't need to put an antenna on my roof

I canceled my order for an outside antenna and first wanted to try an amplifier on my attic antenna. As others have suggested I connected the amplifier to the antenna lead rather than using it in the room where one of my TVs is located. This, of course, has the effect of boosting the signal to all 4 TVs which are connected to the antenna. I made a 1/2" hole in my garage ceiling so I could run the female connector into the attic, then I connected the other end to a lightweight 12' extension cord and an outlet in the garage.
I still use a VCR through a converter box. Weekdays I tape BBC, Newsline, or DW news on PBS so I don't have to watch the awful broadcast network news which seems to be about 12 minutes of news crammed into a half hour of commercials.
Before installing the amplifier PBS, NBC, and Fox were marginal, sometimes OK but more frequently breaking up. My digital to analog converter box showed a signal strength of 10% for PBS. After connecting the amplifier and re-scanning, the signal strength is now 50-60%. Not one problem with the signals now. I can even pick up more stations that I don't want to view.
I purchased this as a certified return item. It is excellent, cheaper and much easier to install than an outdoor antenna, and saved me the hassle of crawling on my roof.

A Very Good Amplifier/Splitter

This Rocketfish RF-G1179 model is a very good bidirectional amplifier/splitter for HDTVs and FM receiver. Without the splitter I could receive 4 channels, all from a local station. The FM receiver did not receive any stations. With this amplifier/splitter, I receive a minimum 37 stations (including substations) and as many as 56 channels (including substations) from 6 cities, one of which is 80 miles away. Itis almost as good as the now-discontinued Channel Master model that it replaced. Easy to set up. All channels that broadcast in HD and/or stereo, are received in HD and/or stereo. Make sure that you use high-quality cables.

I finally cut the cord with comcast. I already had a Roku TV so I have been wanting to dump my cable TV and the cost. My first step was to use the Best Buy offer for Sling TV and that provided a free Roku 2 for a second TV. Now I live about 30 miles outside of Pittsburgh where the local channels are located. If you know anything about the Pittsburgh area it has hills and trees! I picked up a Clearview 2 OTA antenna. Set it up on the ridge of the house and hooked it up to the existing cable. Local stations were in HD however when I went to split the signal it would pix-elate if there was more than one TV. (2 way splitter). Read and searched regarding antenna amps, pre amps, etc. Came across this and decided to try it and I could not be happier. Now I have 4 TV's with perfect signal and picture, even our local NBC. Remember this is not an antenna preamp so it will not amp the antenna. The antenna will still have to have an adequate signal strength. This amp compensate for the signal loss from the lengths of cable and the splitter. So the antenna is on the outside of the house, ran cable to the inside of the basement (40 feet) then to the Rocketfish. All of my cables to each individual rooms then connected to the out of the amp. Lastly it was such a good day to take all my equipment to Comcast and cancel my cable!

I have Comcast for Phone, Internet and TV. For whatever reason, Comcast can't get me a strong enough signal from the new pole across the street, even though I had a perfect signal with the old pole 3 houses down before they rerouted my feed.
In order to "accommodate" the needs, they installed a "compensating filter" that improved my phone and Internet signal at the cost of having "no signal" 80% of the time on the TV.
If you amp the main input from the DMARC, everything purrs. Everything works. Unfortunately, when the power goes out, the phones go down too because this amp doesn't pass any signals without being powered. (I thought it would be like 1990's amps that were dumb splitters when unpowered and boosters when powered, but I was wrong.)
If you amp the low side of the compensating filter, the TV now works about 80% of the time and the phone and Internet are as good as before.
If you amp the TV side after placing a regular splitter instead of a compensating filter, the TV is perfect, but phone and Internet occasionally drop out.
The short answer is that Comcast is the problem, not the amp.
If I had my data rack finished, I'd have a battery backup anyway, so powering the amp would be trivial.
Given a rearrangement of equipment, I should see better results yet by placing the phone on the outside of the amp and moving the Internet to the powered side of the amp, so I can eliminate the compensating filter and reduce the db of loss because of the double split Comcast installed. (DMARC to 2 way - 1 to TV splitter, 1 to phone / Internet splitter)

I picked up the Rocketfish amplifier to help pull in the TV station that is just out of range due to the long cable I have running from the antenna outside down to the TV in my basement. After hooking up the amp, I now get the TV station that is about 50 miles away and the picture comes in clear as I could hope for. It's also very easy to hook up.

I could get some clear channels on one tv, so I bought this antenna booster, plugged it in and I now have three tv's hooked up. The free tv signal is amplified by the booster so the signal can be shared on multiple tv's.
I really worked. Each tv picks up different channels but I think that has something to do with the tv itself.

This is a good device if you want to pickup a few extra tv channels. Also, if you are going to connect more than one television to an antenna then this is the device to use. You can connect up to four televisions and improve your video signal. Lastly, make sure you only use this device to boost your signal because too much signal may cause you to loose some tv channels.

Just enough boost to keep the signal strong without overdriving it. Didn't get any additional channels (wasn't expecting to), but did improve the signal strength. A little pricey IMO...

I recently moved to a more rural area and my initial cable signal strength was quite poor. Easy to use with ~3min install, the mini-Amp just needs a power plug and you're set. Both TV and wireless signals have improved.

With this device I was able to get more channels and better picture quality. The cable from the antennae to TV is over 100 ft so when I replaces the regular splitter with the Rocketfish amplifier I got more channels on each TV plus a sharper picture.

I needed this to boost my signal when using 1 antenna for multiple tv's. It works good as long as you don't have a really long cable to a tv, the longer the cable the more of a signal drop. As long as you follow directions it should work ok.

I purchased this amplifier to compliment the new antenna I put in the attic. The cable was feeding a TV 2 stories down in the basement. Before I put this on, I was not getting very many stations and those that came in were poor picture quality. After I connected the amplifier, I got 20 local station, all coming in crystal clear! I could not be more satisfied!

I purchased this item as an open box item. It included all the original items. I needed a little bit of a signal boost on a cable run I was using for cable tv. The cable line comes into the house hits 1 splitter then goes up a floor to another splitter and terminates in a room at the cable box. This run is around 100 feet. The cable box would get most channels in ok but specific ones would not come in at all or would come in choppy. After replacing the first splitter with the purchased amplifier and using the power adapter, I was able to get all the channels in correctly that were either choppy or missing from before. So I would recommend this item for anyone that needs a little extra signal boost on a long cable run.
