Customers consistently note the excellent graphics and enjoyable gameplay of Rory McIlroy PGA Tour. While many praise the ease of use and realistic feel, some find the limited course selection and putting mechanics challenging. Concerns were also raised regarding the depth of the career mode and the overall amount of content.

Great graphics and easy to use controls. I found the first hour great but you are left looking for more.
Course selections are lacking and career mode is a joke. Random attribute points for player progression. Worst part is player creator is 5 years old. Limited faces and not customization.
I continue to play due to graphics but only 18 hole quick games as any in depth game play is disappointing

As far as gameplay is concerned, this is a fantastic game that plays well. It improves on pga 13's mechanics. Content is the only real issue. There aren't many golfers to choose from, although I never played with any of the LPGA golfers or Mashall Faulk(lol).
The biggest complaint is the number of courses. It's an absolutely pathetic line up. Only 8 courses, no Pebble Beach and NO AUGUSTA! On the bright side, there are free courses on the way. The first has just arrived (TPC Scottsdale) and the second, East lake golf club is coming next month. Maybe they just didn't' finish the game in time?

The gameplay is good but the game itself lacked depth. There is a very small pool of golfers to choose from, there is a huge lack of courses, and the career mode is just basic. Fun to play with friends but if looking for something to keep you entertained for a long time I would look for something else.

This is a pretty good game if you like the other's from the Tiger Woods series. The graphics and sound are very impressive. The gameplay and control is good and mostly the same as well, so not a bad learning curve. My only issue is that there are not a lot of golfers to select from and not a lot of real courses either (however there a quite a few fantasy/fake courses). Interested to see if more is to come out through DLC and the cost on all that?

Its taken a while for EA to come out with it's next golf game. It was worth waiting for. Although I am just at the beginning of the game, it looks and plays pretty good. The night challenge with all it's neon colors looks great and is really fun to play. The game does seem a little easy, but I'm sure that will change as I progress through the career mode. Although it is fun to play, there are a few problems that I have noticed: 1) In career made, I noticed I was only playing certain holes. Come to find out the preset setting is not to play all the holes. So, you can change that. Why it would be preset to play a "quick round" I have no idea...I bought it to play golf, right? 2) Sometimes the announcers were a hole off. 3) The course selection is a bit limited. 4) The character customization is pretty basic. I remember in the old Tiger Woods games, I could go through and change facial features and get the avatar to almost look like me or I could even upload a photo and it would use that. Not in this case, you get basic facial and body types and they eye and hair colors are very limited (purple eyes! Come on, really). All in all, it is a good golf game though.

So far the game play is decent. The graphics are really good. Lack of courses and players is a bit frustrating but I'm sure some patches will be available. The game is fun and some of the other games modes can be interesting and entertaining. All in all id say it's decent but not a big jump over the tiger woods series from ps3

I was excited about this title, but after less than a week I see that many of my biggest fears came to fruition. There was a lot of talk about a lack of golfers and courses, and I dismissed those since I was so eager to have a golf title. Turns out those worries were right, as the game has a pitiful number of courses and the golfer roster is even worse. It's frustrating to see names like Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson near the top of the virtual leaderboard but they're nowhere to be found. The customization, which was a hallmark for this series in the past, has been stripped down to next to nothing.
The gameplay is solid and that's the only thing preventing me from giving this game one star. It has three modes to play, with each offering their own challenges and rewards.
Skip this one. If you must have a golf game, I'd recommend looking at The Golf Club. While it may not have the RPG-like progression and it may lack on a lot of the soul that having brands and actual golfers, it makes up for it with a near limitless assortment of user made courses. In fact, that's what my copy of this title will be going right toward.

This game has been getting horrible reviews across the board since it's release. First and foremost, this game is much lighter on content than in previous years. There are far fewer pro golfers and courses to enjoy and you can't create a golfer that looks just like you as they have removed the photo game face feature. Those are pretty big issues however we ultimately buy this game for its solid gameplay and the player progression (i.e. unlocking new clubs and apparel as your player gets better) that makes these games addictive. Let's not forget that this game looks amazing too; especially the Wolf Creek course in Nevada. If you can overlook a few features that have sadly been left out, there is a great game of golf here to be enjoyed.

Game play is great. Almost two easy to play in arcade mode but still fun. Tour mode is ridiculous considering they want to you to see 300 plus yards without zooming on a tv. In real golf, people choose clubs based on how far they can hit with that club, not based on a birds eye view with random yardages.
Decent new features especially for career mode. Player progression is better but could still use more content.
As everyone else has said, not enough courses. Hopefully EA can make up for this by offering free courses in a future DLC.
Overall 4 stars but could 5 stars depending on the future DLC and how much EA charges.

So for starters I am an avid EA sports PGA fan. I've been playing the games since Tiger Woods 2005. Actual game play wise on the course this game is fantastic. It looks amazing, the play is smooth for the most part, not many complaints. However, it feels so empty. The number of courses and available pros to play as is a joke. I'm sure they will release more via DLC that we will have to pay for which stinks. Older games even 2 years ago came with 20+ courses and golfers standard. The new nightclub side game is fun but pointless. I wish they would have not spent a sizeable amount of time working on that and made the create your own golfer and career better. The whole set up for your characters pro career is simply boring. Barely customizable, stat changes are random and no personally editable, and there is no calendar to look at your upcoming events. Give this game 2015 PS4 graphics, but give us back the gameplay and fun of 2014 Tiger and we will have a winner. If you're like me you were going to buy this game regardless of reviews, but I just wish they were wrong.

EA Sports has done a great job to make this as real to the game of golf as possible. If you spray your tee shot left or right you hit the ball from that point just like in golf you are not penalized for out of bounds. The graphics and game speed are amazing the putting is a little tougher now especially with no tiger tracker anymore. Overall game is great purchase.

The graphics are great, the not waiting for loading between holes is really great. It just isn't as good as Tiger Woods 13/14. The power meter is completely different and takes some getting used to. Putting is also more difficult in this game. All that can be overcome with practice. It's not horrible though. Just 3 stars good.

The putting can be pretty challenging but still is fun. gameplay is fast . loads really fast. you can use the 3 click system for your swings (if you do this set it up in custom so you still have spin control). I am not that big of fan of 3 click so I use arcade swing. 4 stars just because they don't have country clubs this year so makes it hard to play with friends. overall good game . have fun.

Mechanically the game plays great and looks fantastic as well. Its quick and easy to jump into to do a round of golf, which is a plus for me. Definitely needs to have more courses and golfers added, which EA will be doing for free over the next couple of years. If you love golf, great game to get, especially with the free DLC coming.

As a long time player of the PGA Tour series, back to 2003, I always look forward to the latest incarnation. There are always changes, some of my favorite features disappear and new features arrive which become favorites. This edition is no different in that respect although the changes are bigger. Moving to the new generation platforms is big and much needed. But changing to a new engine, one that's never been used for a sports game before, is enormous. Some of the technical details of golf could not be ported over within the time and cost constraints of the industry and those details are sorely missed. However, I find the game more accessible to less technical players: those who just want to have fun playing golf. Speaking for myself, I think I was getting myself too bogged down in detail with the last couple of versions. With this version, I'm having more fun again. Isn't that what a game should be, fun? I expect more of the realism and technical simulation features to return over the next year or two. Meanwhile I salute EA for their brave move to the new engine and for leading me back to the joy of PLAYing golf.

For this game being the first since the tiger woods came out I thought that It was a good play. The only thing I would rate this down is due to the fact that when we purchased it they said they would be adding more courses which never happened. So they are in a sense false advertising this product.

The graphics are nothing short of amazing, but that's to be expected on the new platform. There's even a sweet fantasy battlefield course you can play. To me the biggest change that I've noticed thus far, between this and previous versions, is that putting is much more difficult.

The graphics are very good for the new game! You can see blades of grass. The spectators look good. The players look too old..
There is not real customizable player. You basically have what they give you. There are 3 body types to choose from. No way to customize that and the options are pretty poor. As for the gameplay, it's extremely easy on either arcade or classic. And very difficult on tour.. There is no real happy medium.. I went 15 under in one round and I made a few mistakes.. The gameplay is my faster though. That is nice.
Finally, the announcers are terrible. Half of the time they make no sense to what is going on. For example I was on a green in 2 on a par 5 and the announcer says "very poor play to this point". I was 7 under through 10 and on a par 5 in 2. That's pretty good.. They need to figure that out. Tiger woods was much better
Seems like this game was designed more for online play where it is competitive
