Returned a 23" Hannspree for this. The dynamic contrast makes a night and day difference(pun). This picture is beautiful. Colors and contrast is stunning. Minor blacklight bleed but you can't expect a perfect monitor. The big negative that i'm having with this is that its not HDMI. I was told that DVI produced the same quality as HDMI but I don't think this is the case. When watching movies, in this case the colorful 'WALL-E' and noticed strange lines on objects when they move, fast or slow. Weird like.. sometimes rainbowish. I feel like if this monitor used HDMI there would not be this picture quality issue. I was really hoping for a perfect picture and thought i would find it with the Samsung but either a monitor malfunction, or lack of HDMI seems to be its downfall. I'm really not looking forward to another trip to best buy. There was another 23" Samsung, which isn't shown online, that was similar to this one except with 5ms and 20k contrast.. BUT it had HDMI. Stinks cuz now i'll need to buy a HDMI cable that I was trying to avoid. I wouldn't recommend this monitor to anyone who wants to watch movies on it. But maybe i got a defect. Hopefully Geek squad can solve my problem.

Best external monitor for Apple laptops...

    1. I asked the sale rep to pick the monitor for me... I was surprised seeing the compact package. 2. I paid and went home.. I was skeptical about the quality... (Is it gonna fool me like the HP 22 inches.. i bought a few days ago and returned it... Not good for Apple Mac) 3. I went home and opened the box... unbelievable how pretty the monitor was... too slim... high glossy black... no sticking out buttons... clean back with only 2 ports (DVI and power) 4. I picked it up from the box... its too light... installation is very very simple. 5. I connected it with my Macbook... (hint: There is a trick to connect to the macbook... Connect the cable to the monitor... Turn on the power button on your mac and immediately close the lid of your macbook... your mac will send its display output to the monitor and the monitor will show it in 1080p... If you still keep the macbook open, you will see only the macbook 1280 x 800 resolution in the monitor.. yuck!!! Dont forget to close the lid after hitting the power button on ur mac) 6. Push the power button on the monitor.. Its a touch control... simply awesome!! 7. The monitor instantly refreshes.. NO DELAYS.. 2ms response... (Example.. When you connect with the HP and try to logout from a user.. the monitor blacks out 3 times due to screen refresh.. BUT SAMsung woks seemlessly... very fast response time) 8. I was picturing the monitor setup to post in my blog... You know what?? my BOSE sound dock system for iphone looks huge.. ;) 8. Definitely BUY this if you have a MAC (Apple)... Dont waste money buying cinema display (my personal opinion)

Excellent monitor, good for gaming too

Settings for color/brightness/contrast seemed perfect out of the box, so it was pretty much just plug and play. I game a lot, and even during heavy gameplay (Warhammer:AOR, Battlefield2, UT3 and some others) this monitor has kept up with the action flawlessly. No blur, no lines, nothing abnormal, absolutely perfect (so i have no clue what some of the other reviews are referring to. I think they must have had defective monitors or out of date drivers, but thats just my opinion based on how good my monitor has been, and have not experienced any of the negative effects other reviewers have) I love the starlight buttons, which are more like touch screens as opposed to buttons. An HDMI input would be nice, but im not too concerned with that, as all my movie viewing is done on my TV. Also, have to rely on windows update for drivers, as Samsung does not have this model listed on their website. Overall its a great monitor, its great with games, and it has a nice design

For the record the input is DVI-I (pins 24+5) not DVI-D. Great picture quality. Super color & contrast. Elegant casing. Easy set up. Just hope it lasts longer than my last Samsung. It fried like an egg 5 months after the warranty expired.

This Monitor is a very well designed. It's very light and slim. The picture quality is amazing. The movies and games comes to life. Love this monitor. I do have a couple of PC so I was disapointed with the single input.

Very happy with the quality of this display. My main settings after going thought the Lagom LCD monitor test pages: Brightness: 85, Contrast: 60, Sharpness: 60 The viewing angle test shows a weakness of coloring the edges. I have the P2370 at a full arms length from my seating position which eliminates most of this undesired effect. Also there is some backlight edge bleed-through but is only noticeable when the majority of the screen is very dark/black. Very nice color, darks, and whites and razor sharp!

Great colors, large screen but frightening setup

Best colors I've ever seen in a monitor. Large screen....but be warned, you have to apply a very scary amount of pressure when mounting the monitor to the base. And, even then, it's hard to tell if it has snapped into place....since there's no sound or "feeling". Other than that, great LCD....just be prepared getting it set up.

I don't like rating things at top of the scale, but in this case I have to. The easy of assembly & hookup was a breeze, picture quality & resolution are fantastic, the starlight buttons are handy & it's overall looks are very appealing.

    Great monitor , Terrible service

After enjoyng this monitor for 5 mos the monitor quit one day out of the blue, giving me a flashing blue light that would not turn on or off or reset. After calling customer service they informed me that they would have to exchange the monitor and I would be reciving one in 1-2 weeks, I gave them my credit card number so that the monitor would be drop shipped to my door as the nearest UPS Store is 40 minutes away. Well it was delivered to the UPS Store anyways upon which I was never notified. Four weeks later when I called them and asked where my monitor may be they told me what had happened and said they had recieved the monitor the week before, again with no notification to me. I was told that they would two-day air the monitor to me. They asked for my credit card a second time and after I gave them 4 credit card including two no limit business cards that were declined by them, I had to tell them to just figure it out. The monitor did not come till a week later, I then left on business for 4 days so did not open the monitor until I got back. When I did the monitor was the wrong monitor, not only that but they had the wrong base in the box as well so I couldn't even use the monitor. I was told by customer service that nothing could be done about this mistake or any of the other mistakes, I had now been without a monitor for 6 weeks. They did tell me they were going to two-day air another monitor and this one would be a new monitor not a refabbed one. That was on August 5th it is now the 13th and I do not have my monitor. This last call offered me no tracking number as the monitor has not even been shipped yet as well as no resolve to make me a happy Samsung customer. In fact the final person that I spoke to in Executive Customer Service basically hung up on me when I expressed my unhappiness in thier ineptitude. Througn no mistakes on my part (besides from buying a Samsung) I have been without a monitor for two months. All the phone calls have lasted at least a half an hour, and while some promises have been made in a half-hearted attempt to resolve the situation none have been followed through on.

    Faulty monitor

Great picture and very light in weight makes it easy to move around. Unfortunately, I had the monitor for 2 days then the picture failed. Called cutomer service and after hours of troubleshootings it was clear the monitor has failed and need to be repaired/replaced. Got the monitor replaced with a new one. After 30 minutes of usage with the new monitor the picture will fade in and out. Contacted costomer service and was told the monitor was not working properly so it needs replacing. Finally, after days of dealing with 2 faulty samsung monitor I decided to go with another brand.

I love this monitor. It's very sharp with great colors. It turns off/on quickly and smoothly. You have to see it to know what I mean. It just has a great feel to it. I've had it for about two weeks now as my auxiliary monitor. I like it so much I'm going back to get another for my main monitor.

I have been using a 19" Samsung LCD for years. Decided to upgrade and this was the right choice. I paid less for this monitor than I did 6 years ago for my previous and the value is unbelievable. I would recomend this monitor to anyone looking to upgrade to a bigger screen.

I exchanged a LG 23 incher for this one and I'm sure glad I did. just a very good monitor for gaming, no ghosting accuate colors and vibrate. I will be keeping this baby for awhile. until the 120hz monitors come out and then I'm going to get samsung for that also.

    Not for Gamers

i had this display for a week and tested different PC games ( Crysis ,Half Life 2 ,Fall Out 3, Fear , Vanguard SoH etc ) . and it came up short. the motion blur is a serious Eye-Strain and had to return it. The Color and Detail of in-game play looks good but once you start to move around it gets ugly fast. There is a noticible white hazy strip (about 1/2 ") along the top and bottom of this LDC when i ran the DPT.exe program black screen and it also shows up while gaming in dark areas. It's a real shame when they paste Ultra Fast 2ms all around the box and claim Great for Gaming only to get shot down by the lack of testing done at there Labs, maybe they were playing checkers on that fancy $300 LCD. This LCD dose beat the LG W2252TQ up and down the block tho . that one got returned the week before this one. If you plan on using this LCD for web-surfing, checking out Utube, admiring you're spiffy desktop wallpaper, or sharping you're skills at checkers hey, buy this puppy up pronto. but in the real world, Gamers BEWARE !

Was great the first year and a half. Now, if I turn it off, it doesn't want to turn back on. I think within the month it'll need to be replaced. If you are going to buy this, buy the warranty. I've NEVER had a monitor last such a short period of time, and I won't buy a Samsung to replace it!
