We were looking for a smaller Samsung set to place inside a wall unit and selected this television model. The picture color and clarity are spectacular, matched by its ease of use. Plus, the smart capability is a wonderful and practical addition for the price. We have another Samsung set that is good, but there is no coparison with this newer, smart TV.

I wanted a TV for my bedroom that I could stream on, and this one is the perfect size, price, and quality. The manual could stand to be a little more thorough as it took me a little bit to figure out the smart hub, but I'm very happy with the purchase.

Bought the TV specifically for it's "Smart TV" capabilities, which means that it has it's own apps that run on the TV like Netflix. Purchased for an 11 yr old boy for his bedroom. Connecting a satellite STB, Xbox 360 (doesn't play DVDs or BlueRay). An extra HDMI input would be good for a DVD player. My son will mainly watch Netflix and cartoons on TV besides playing with his Xbox.
Pros:
Smart TV = apps natively in the TV
Wireless (and wired) network connectivity
Under $200
Remote can act as a universal remote.
Cons:
Only 2 HDMI ports. 3 would be a better minimum.
Menus can be slow.
Input switching: HDMI connections menu options aren't directly next to one another if other media devices discovered on your network.
Cannot hide / remove discovered network devices from the Input menu.
Using the remote a universal remote to control the STB uses the TV's guide instead of the STB's guide. Since the menus are slow, this kills the experience in using one remote. Still use 2 remotes for experience sake.

We were searching for biggest TV to fit under a kitchen counter and this fit the bill. It's slim, light and easy to move. Simple to operate - plug & play out of the box set-up was quick & easy. Good color and ample sound for our kitchen TV.

I love thisTV! The picture is beautiful and it's so lightweight that mounting was a breeze...once I found a mounting bracket that worked. This TV is set up for 100x100 VESI mounting, which most VESI compatible brackets can accommodate. The problem was that most mounts (II wanted a full-motion mount so not sure about others) for a 28" TV and up have mounting plates that are larger but just have holes for the 100x100 as well as 200x200. The problem is that size totally covered the ports in the back. I had to search for a mount that only went up to 100x100. Found a great one for a 27" TV but since this TV is so light I don't think it's a problem. Setup was easy and so far it hasn't fallen off the wall (it's been a few weeks)! I am also having trouble figuring out how to access my DVR programs on the remote but that's probably just my fault. I just use my DVR remote when I need to. So happy with my purchase!

For the price, this unit is great. Great image, easy to use and more importantly all the advantages of using a smart TV. I have been using this TV for the past 2 months and I believe it was a great catch!

This Samsung is my second HDTV, my first one is a Sony 32” (which I bought at Best Buy, BTW) and it sits in my office and well- serves as my computer monitor. Having had a very satisfactory and excellent experience with this piece I had no reservations regarding the purchase of yet another HDTV for use in my kitchen.
The set-up was the usual automated, on-screen prompted bit, which I find amusing and very convenient. I have it chained with my living room television using an old Optimum splitter which they used to sell before they realised that they could make even more money if the consumer purchased a second decoder box, which is the current rule. The television in my living room is and old tube set, a 42” Sony which was produced prior to HD technology being available. Still, it gives good service and until I set up the Samsung in the kitchen I thought that it rendered a rather good- looking picture.
Of course, I traded in my old decoder box for an HD one which is now connected to both televisions. I also had to purchase and string through the wall a very long HDMI cable from the decoder box in the living room to the Samsung in the kitchen. This actually worked right off which was a great relief to me. So thus I began to watch 21st century HD television in my house for the first time.
I suppose that I like to view films on television most of all and the Samsung’s 16:9 aspect ration permits wide-screen films to be seen without letterboxing, which of course, reduces the total viewing area of the screen. While the wide - screen film format is a very old one, the first wide -screen film being The Corbett-Fitzsimmons Fight in 1897, and thereafter was used from time to time. However, by the early ’30s as the worldwide economic Depression was raging and Hollywood studios sought ways to reduce overhead. One of these ways was to virtually universally produce films thereafter using the old the standard 1.37:1 Academy aspect ratio provided by the 35 mm film upon which the films were photographed.
It was not until 1952 that in an attempt to draw television viewers back into the movie houses that among other tricks and devices, the widescreen format was re-invented and in a very spectacular way. Paramount’s Cinerama used three projectors and three interlocking screens. The first Cinerama film was This is Cinerama. Unfortunately this very expensive technical achievement did not catch on. However, in 1953 20th Century Fox released The Robe in its version of wide -screen, CinemaScope which was cheaper and lasted for around fourteen years. Thereafter films shot in VistaVision, Superscope, WarnerScope, PanaVision, and others, using 65 or 70 mm film, vied for audience attention. This format also proved quite expensive and by the ‘60s virtually all of the studios had reverted to using 35 mm film projected with special wide-screen projectors. Since then and today the wide-screen format is the Hollywood film standard.
My old Sony in the living room has the prior television standard 4:3 aspect ration screen and accordingly wide-screen films are viewed letterboxed. Accordingly, I now choose to watch television in the kitchen on the Samsung’s slightly smaller screen, but with the great advantage of no letterboxing and its incredible HD picture. I am very pleased with my HD Samsung and when my old Sony dies, probably some time from now as those old Sonys are reputed to live long, I will replace it with some 72” + monster, or whatever is available in that future time and enjoy in my living room the pleasant experience I am presently having with my kitchen Samsung.
All of this is, I suppose, a very long way to say that I love my Samsung television and recommend it without reservation (it sounds real good, too).

Overall Good TV For The Money

***See bottom for Netflix sign-in fix***
The Samsung 24" Smart TV is a good buy overall. It has a nice picture, good smart options and a somewhat intuitive menu. It's great for a guest room or small office. The only gripe I have is it's a little slow turning off and on, but most smart TV's are this way these days.
***If you run into an issue where it tells you your netflix account is unrecognized, most likely it's stuck in some kind of loop. Use your remote and push: Up-up, down-down, left, right, left, right, up, up, up, up. (Kind of like the Konami code), this should take you to a menu where you can choose: "Sign Out". Then sign back in. You should be good to go.

I recently upgraded from a 19" LCD Samsung non-smart TV to the new 28" LED Samsung smart TV. For a third of the price of my 2008 original, I got almost twice the screen real estate with many more adjustments and features. The new Samsung 28" is loaded with everything from internet-ready show and movie downloadability and WiFi capabilities to multiple picture capabilities from normal to vivid to movie modes. The Samsung 28" has multiple connections for high-resolution BluRay external devices to access the latest interactive capabilities of current and future cable/satellite boxes. Set-up is a breeze and easily completed in less than an hour. I definitely recommend this product to others looking for a smaller footprint TV device with robust features found in bigger Samsung models.

In a smaller room, this 28" TV was the perfect size. Originally looked at a 24", but next to a 28", was surprised how much more viewing are was available. Did have more set-up issues than I'd hoped for. Instructions were weak, both hard copy & e-manual. Tried to find PIN, & looked at glossary under "P", & no info on how to find. Had to call Samsung for help. Also issues setting up Amazon video, & TV was not listed as covered in Amazon, or when contacted an Amazon Rep. Tried the Samsung SmartView app on my iPhone, & had to call Samsung again, to find phone not supported in app. Had to call Samsung again, & I stumbled on Amazon was pre-loaded on TV as one of the featured apps. Finally everything works, but lots of time & frustration.
Also didn't automatically find my DVD player. TV only set-up to find BlueRay - not everyone uses Blue Ray. Further, doesn't recognize devices set up via coax, only other cables.

I bought this TV to replace an old Tube TV in my master bedroom, since my budget was tight, I figured I could buy this for now and replace it with a larger on in the bedroom at a later time. Although it looks kind of small at first once in use the screen appears bigger. Great interim buy which I'll be moving into kids room later on. SMART functions work perfectly , we use it for VUDU, YouTube and Netflix regularly. We also use it with flash drive media. Saves me from having to run all these apps off my XBox which means only one electronic has to be on at a time.

This TV does have a great HD picture, using a HDMI cable of course, but there are some things that need to be said about the Very, Very, Very slow way the remote changes channels and accesses the "Menu" and other things that the TV offers. - - - - I had no problem connecting the TV to my WiFi and no problem connecting to Netflix, but scrolling through the TV Menu requires a lot of patience. - - - - I got the TV for a great price, and really that's the only reason why I'm keeping the TV. Really, I don't now what Samsung was thinking. . . . ??? I think that the reason why the TV menu is so slow is because it's accessing it through you WiFi or Ethernet connection, so you internet needs to be really great to be able to scroll through the channels fast. I do have a great internet connection, but it is still too slow to channel surf, darn-it! - - - - but it's got a GREAT HD Picture!!!

The TV was easily set up and ready to roll. The picture is sharp. The remote control with laser beam is a little hard to use. The concept is nice but it lacks control - it's hard to hit the target at times. Overall a nice TV for the money.
