This Samsung is extremely great quality.
The 3.1 is perfectIon with this center speaker in the bar it helps equalize the sound so when watching movies and the background music is playing it Does Not! Drown out the dialogue! FINALLY a sound system that you just turn on and enjoy! I mean you just sit back and watch your movie with no hassles of messing around with the eq. The bass is perfect for our bedroom which is 14ft x 24ft and fully carpeted no wooden flooring. It’s super crips and clean with very rich tones. By far best sound bar we have owned to date. It beats out the Bose Solo 5 which we returned, it had no bass what so ever. If you are looking for a unit to put out rich deep sounding bass, crisp highs and clean mids for your music & Finally great sounding movies this sound-bar will 100% do just that.
More then 100% satisfied and we highly recommend this until. We decided to use cast iron brackets to hang this sound-bar.

2 weeks ago We purchased the Samsung/Harmon Kardon Q60r sound bar to go with the 49” Samsung Q60 4K tv. Prior to purchasing the Q60 sound bar, I went into the store and compared the Q60 to the Samsung 650 sound Bar. No question the Q60 sound significantly better than the 650, however I purchased the Samsung 650 sound bar with 340 watts and much more powerful subwoofer to replace the Samsung soundbar I had setup with my 37” Panasonic tv.
The power and sound quality and center channel and subwoofer are far superior to the Samsung entry level soundbar I had before. The bass is soo much better. However, unlike the Q60 soundbar with the acoustimass feature, the 650 didn’t have the full surround sound effect so at some point I will def. be purchasing the Samsung rear channel speakers setup the next time they go on sale.
I watch premier league soccer and a lot of college and nfl football along with Netflix shows and movies. So sound quality, sub level and power without distortion are were my main motivations for spending barely over $200 for this super loud and clean setup.
I highly recommend the Samsung Q60 soundbar for any 4K high end TVs. For those with lower end Samsung or non Samsung TVs, get the R650 340 watt true 3.1 with BT and powerful wireless sub! Also the smart sound feature and game mode work great! Ps. The dedicated center channel makes all the difference!

Great sound bar for movies and music. It pairs flawlessly with my Samsung TV and was extremely easy to set up. I have been very impressed for the the past year with it and would recommend it to anyone who is willing to pay a little more for sound quality. Weather it’s TVs or sound bars, I have never been disappointed in Samsung’s products. Would purchase again.

After reviewing many of the high dollar sound bars It was easy to make the decision to-purchase the Samsung 3.1 channel 340 watt system. Easy set up and operating instructions. Listen to the so called best and then listen to this. It will put a smile on your face!

This sound bar sounds great
Gaming: immersive sound, good sense of direction. Probably better in smaller rooms

Movies: similar to gaming it really immerses you in the experience
Use: using arc hdmi my tv remote controls my soundbar 100% (Samsung TV)

Afte 6 weeks, i can't find anything wrong with this product. Amazing bass! The surrounding sound setting, for me, legitimately sounds like surround sound. I wanted this 3.1 system (vs a 2.1 system) because i wanted the most depth i could get from a sound bar. And this thing more than delivers! I watch tv, movies, and listen to my phone via bluetooth (usually rock & edm), and the bass pounds! Very happy with this purchase. I used to scoff at the idea of a sound bar because at the time i had a fully functioning SS system. This thing has more than surpassed my expectations and hopes.

Works as expected. I was hesitant to get this soundbar based on some of the comments by other customers. Having had older models I can understand the frustration when they say "it isn't very loud" and "not worth the money". I went through this buyers shock when I first upgraded an older Samsung soundbar as the volume settings changed drastically. I used to only have to go up to 14-20 on the volume setting, but then it only went to 50. The newer soundbars I need to listen at 32-40, but they now go up to 100. It may seem like you have to turn it up louder, because by the numbers you actually do, but that is only because of a design setting that changed. Obviously if you have a newer model you will never have experienced this seeming loss of power or volume so those reviews will be the ones that say it works great.
Only reason for a 4 star instead of a 5 star is because I do not like the loss of the different sound modes many of the other models have. I have trouble hearing voices in movies or shows and like the movie mode so it muffles the background noise and puts the speaking parts up front. This model has a Standard, Music and Smart mode only. The Smart Mode or Standard mode isn't the same as movie mode. It is still good quality sound, I just have to turn up the volume if there is a lot of speaking with action in the background, just like being in a bar.
Very satisfied with cost to performance and of course when coupled with a Samsung TV it is seamless integration and easy setup.

Originally came into the store to buy the JBL 3.1
Sound bar but when I tried the displays in the store the Samsung sounded louder and clearer. It didn’t have as big of a subwoofer as the JBL but I have a Samsung tv at home so I figured why not go for the same brand as that. Brought it home and it was super easy to set up with my TV. Literally connected it with the optical cable, turned it on and that was it. All the remotes from directv, tv and everything else worked seamlessly with it out of the box. Once I figured out how to change the settings like treble, bass and sub volume I got it sounded great! Only thing I wish it had was a larger sub. It is perfect for regular tv and definitely booms enough to shake the wall but it doesn’t have the rumble. The deep rumble during an explosion for example. Not only that but if you listen to Rap or R&B music stay away from this sound bar as it doesn’t hit the deep notes at all. Overall it’s a great sound bar that is clear (voices coming from center speakers is worth getting a 3.1), has enough connections and the display is nice as well.

I had actually planned on getting a cheap little sound bar, but when I went in to Best Buy that day, they had a great sale on this one. The difference in sound quality was huge, and it wasn't much more than I had planned on spending since it was marked down to just over half price, so I decided to splurge a little. So glad I did!! Easy to set up too, and the bar fits perfectly under my 50” Samsung TV. I just set the sub on the floor next to it, but it can be moved around since it's wireless. It's made a huge improvement on movie night!

Finally excellent sound from a flat screen TV!
When I was shopping for a big TV I was only looking at the picture. That's all you can experience at the store.
What they don't tell you is that all of the TV's speakers (in all flat screen TVs) are rear mounted and sound is reflected off the wall behind the TV. It makes sense as the only thing you see looking at the TV is the screen (not the speakers).
All flat screen TVs need either a separate sound system (receiver, amp, speakers - preferably a 7.1 configuration) or a sound bar.
Recognizing this, I first purchased a Visio 5.1 Soundbar from Wireless Way on line. That was a disaster as the unit they shipped was inoperative and Wireless Way refused to take it back. (The take away is don't purchase anything from wirelessway.com.)
I replaced the Visio with the Samsung soundbar that is Fantastic!!
The remote control has separate controls for the Left/Center/Right speakers and the subwoofer.
And the sound quality is suburb.
My hearing impaired relative loves it as he can understand all of the dialog.
That's because it is a 3.1 soundbar not the usual 2.1. So the center channel that contains the dialog is not mixed with the Left/Right channels that have music and effects and are kept separate.
So buy the Best Buy Samsung unit that should be included with all flat screen TVs.

I purchased this Samsung soundbar in December and I’m very happy with it. Setup was very simple and it sounds surprisingly good.
I have a decent sound system in my basement and this soundbar doesn’t come close to that, but this was less than $200 on sale instead of the thousands of dollars my main system cost.
For the price, I’m very impressed. It’s a huge improvement over the built in speakers on the TV. As long as you don’t purchase it with the expectation that it will sound like a true movie theater, I think you will be happy with this unit.
It tends to go on sale pretty regularly, and the $399 regular price is a bit high in my opinion. If you can get it for less than $250 I think it’s quite a deal.
Overall, I recommend this soundbar.

I bought this sound bar because I love Samsung, it was a great price on Black Friday, and had a dedicated dialog speaker. I was not anticipating how truly easy it was to set up. There was no fighting with it and no resetting, it automatically connected it's parts via Bluetooth and connected to my Samsung TV with one cable and no changes to settings. The sound is great and the dialogue speaker is great especially for louder movies.

Purchased this over a year ago now and I’m looking at buying another when I purchase a projector for my living room. Can’t complaint about anything as far as the item itself works. The only complaint I have is that half the time I have to toggle the power to the sound bar that is hooked up to my Samsung tv as it will sometimes goof up and not show the volume level on the tv itself. Sound quality is a 10 for me and the woofer exceeded my expectations.
