If you're a power PC/MAC user.. this is the TV you want as your high refresh rate monitor. I've been waiting over a year for the 42 OLED from LG but tried this first and will be keeping it. OLED is dark and kind of delicate. The additional features this TV has too have grabbed onto me. (read about them not gonna detail the software) As a software engineer, I'm critical of the clarity of the screen and this TV performs. It's bright, it's fast and it's clear. Make sure and go to settings, external devices and change the HDMI port to the plus version and you'll get the promised refresh rate, and then some, assuming your PC supports it. I have 3 computers hooked up to this, 2021 MacBook Pro (primary, max 60hz), Dell Latitude 5520 (corp lappy, 120hz), and my desktop PC RTX 3090 (gaming, 144hz). Using the Logitech MX mouse and keyboard this setup is now my dream. @fit.kore

This is the 42"/ 43" monitor sweet spot! All the colors, brightness and really good, not perfect blacks and contrast. Very good reflection handling too. No burn-in risk, in gaming it goes up to 144hz over HDMI, the game bar is a nice touch for quick adjustments and it doubles as a very good tv. SDR... the software is pretty good at upscaling, SDR is just tough to manage. HDR... you need several things to pull off crispy HDR: a 10bit panel - Check, a true 120hz panel - Check, good motion handling - mostly Check (pic clarity has to be enabled), brightness - Check, if not OLED VA tons of zones and a good local dimming algorythm - Check. IPS just doesn't have the native contrast ratio and OLED has it's own issues, tho minor. The biggest one being brightness, but it can't get mini led bright, because it'll burn in much faster. Gaming... the refresh rate is more than good enough at 144hz. The response time is good not perfect. No real visual issues that I saw, meaning I didn't see haloing or much blur at all, no banding, no tearing. It doesn't have freesync or Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate, but that just means it wasn't tested, but it works perfectly. It does sacrifice a little quality for performance, but every monitor/ tv does. It's just a prioritization for gaming to get all the frames you can. What I've tried... I started with a 1440p 27" Dell S2721DGF which I've had for a year, and it was pretty good, no issues and worked great for gaming having 165hz refresh rate, but I wanted a larger monitor. Then recently I tried the Lg GQ950B, but it was too gray for my liking, IPS panel, 8bit+FRC banding, posterization and seemed hazy. It just wasn't good for 4k content. It wasn't bad for gaming, but that's just speaking to the image quality. it didn't have any issues at all. Built like a tank too. After that I tried the FV43U on for size, literally. I actually tried my Samsung 55" q90t just to see if it would fit on the desk, but it was way too big for a monitor, so then I tried the FV43U. The FV43U was terrible! I posted a review about it ("Disappointed") her on BB. It was just bad. OLED and Thoughts...I almost bought the Lg C2, but like I said it has issues, especially as a monitor. For productivity it has ABL issues where the white web pages dim to fend off burn-in, the sub pixel layer makes it not perfect for text, it doesn't have nearly the brightness overall as mini led, it's very glossy (glossy gives a more 3D like image vs Matte so the Samsung is a little flat in comparison, but not terribly so), you can lose detail in the dark scenes and of course it can possibly burn-in, but gaming looks great on it's own, but burn-in risks. I didn't want to risk it and I found this QN90B to be the sweet spot overall. It has none of the negatives above and the only real negatives are, not perfect blacks, but they are really good. The anti reflective screen does it's job very well, but it's not as 3D-like as the OLED. Lastly, blooming. It's not bad at all and they've done much better over the years, much better than my q90t. BUT, zero burn-in risk. 43" seems to suit my desk very well and I didn't know how small the 27" was till I got to this point. No going back now. I can't wait till these get better and more monitor like with KVM, Displayport, higher refresh rate and all of the TV qualities (this one has speakers of course, and they are much better than the normal tiny monitor speakers, just missing a little bass), but until then, this is a very good placeholder! Highly recommend!

First QN90B had a couple dead pixels... I didn't notice any dead pixels on this one, but there are dim "spots" where the brightness is lower... Not sure if that is just the way it's supposed to be for these displays or if I am just having bad luck. Perhaps I'm just being too picky.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing screen abnormalities on your new QN90B TV. Please run a Picture Test to determine if the problem is caused by the TV. Picture Test displays a high-definition picture you can examine for flaws or faults. Go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test

Really looked forward to this tv. Waited to be back in stock. Took chance on certified excellent open box option. Was shipped from across the nation. Halfway home was delivered to wrong address, further extending promised delivery by a week. 3 days waiting by a door for delivery, later to be told to wait another week. Mind blown. When finally arrives, deliverer hands to me upside down with poor tape job holding box together. If i hadn't of grabbed from bottom, like a paper bag, tv would easily have fell out of box. As i unbox in front of my brother, we both were at awe at how poorly it was stuffed into box wuth broken peices of Styrofoam. Cherry on top: WAS MISSING MAIN CURVED PART OF STAND. I couldn't even set it up to turn it on to look at it. This was supposed to be "certified excellent" with all peices and manual. I was sooo over it. Best buy said they didn't have "those peices" and would have to order from Samsung directly. Called and that would take another week. I was done. Returned to local best buy with 45 minutes of receiving. Incredibly disappointing. I have spent a LOT of money at best buy. This has left a poor experience with me.

    Nice TV for Xbox

I bought this TV to use an 11‘ x 11‘ game room. Use it to play Xbox on it and also to kick back in the lazy boy and watch YouTube. TV looks amazing. The only major problem are the viewing angles. As long as you’re sitting straight on it, which I typically do when I’m playing Xbox everything looks amazing. When I’m kicking back in my La-Z-Boy, and look at it from an angle, the picture is very washed out. In order to solve this problem I just bought a heavy duty Lazy Susan and put it underneath the TV so whenever I’m watching it at an angle I basically just swivel the TV so I can get that perfect picture all the time. Other than that, I highly recommend this TV.

The QN90B is as bright and crisp as I expected. A beautiful addition to my living room. My first disappointment is the side angles really are dull. When you are sitting 45 degrees or more away from the center of the screen, the color is duller and picture not nearly as sharp. My second disappointment is that the claim of anti-reflective is not what I expected. Better than my old set - but not as helpful as I hoped and expected. Despite those two disappointments, I am happy with the set and (when on sale), I would recommend it.

This TV has the best picture and sound quality of any I have ever owned. Since I have a TV in almost every room of my house, I have owned several Samsungs, Sonys and various other brands. I had planned to get a sound bar for this TV but I find I do not need one.

I bought this TV as an open box and I was astonished by the price of the TV. Nearly $600 off! After unboxing the TV I did however notice that there were a few dead pixels in the top left corner. The dead pixels are barely noticeable and it was a great buy.

Like the television. However, the colors at home are nothing like presented in the store on display. Would like to know the answer as to why. I expected more from this television based on the view within the store. I will be asking personnel within Best Buy about this. It is that important to me.

      LGmess,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the picture quality of your QN90B TV. To ensure you’ve got the latest image quality updates, please confirm that your TV is up to date with the latest firmware version. You can check by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

If the picture you’re seeing is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.

Go to Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
...and select the mode that best fits your usage:
      1) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
      2) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
      3) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
      4) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

You can also go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings to manually fine tune your image.

For further assistance with settings adjustments, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for:

I purchased this tv open box, and granted i knew it would have some flaws being open box it was the tv itself that I felt it was lacking. I primarily purchased this to play ps5 on and on game mode my OLED tv was brighter I was pretty disappointed. I was past the return period and ended up selling the tv
