When I first got this TV, the lack of edges was one of the biggest contrasts with my old 1080i 49" class with 1.5" bezels on each side. As such, the screen was slightly larger -- but the whole TV was thinner and lighter than the one before. Though easy to mount, it was also stylish and aesthetic on its own legs. Due to the curved and textured back however, my LED light strip couldn't stay adhered. All in all, I'm glad I let the sales person talk me into buying this one over the 2017 samsung tv I was looking at. As an aside, it works very well with my samsung devices! Wireless integration is smooth with my phone and tablet, as well as airplay from my macbook. The smart hub works well, and the extra features in the settings provide a lot to customize. If you're looking at this TV now in 2021, I'd guess that it's unlikely that you'll find a better value without buying a brand new oh-my-god 8k tv or something: I researched heavily and went to a few stores before going in to make a purchase. I knew this TV was the bang-for-buck product in my "treat yourself" price range, but the salesman found several ways to help me reduce the price, including the rewards points of buying two computers the year prior. By that point, it was a small enough price difference that I went for it. I've enjoyed 4k gaming and streaming without much hassle; I've used it with school/work projects because I can view so much more at once (I compose music, and this is invaluable when writing for orchestra, as I can zoom out further and still see details well) Samsung Dex, Apple Airplay, PS4, and HDR movies/shows? This TV has been great.

Great TV, especially for the price. You're getting great smart features, very low input lag for gaming, beautiful Q color. Unfortunately, no Dolby Vision support (it's Samsung after all) and local dimming is not very good so you'll have less than deep blacks. Still, I would've kept it had I known only the 49in version lacks a 120hz refresh rate panel, thus stripping the Q6 from it's best gaming features like the variable refresh rate and the awesome judder reduction/motion technology that Samsung is well known for.

I found it hard to believe that it doesnt come with the One connect that all you devices can be connected to and controlled by the TV remote. Besides that, beautiful picture, great TV. Someone complained about sound which is crazy, the sound is great. I have a small room, 10x10 or so, maybe thats why the sound is good, but it sometimes feels surround.

This Samsung is replacing a 2013 model that started having display problems, looping restarts, and shut off after loud sharp sound effects from tv shows...weird behaviors that I attribute to a failing motherboard? I was thinking of getting another brand, but I bought this TV because it was the thinnest available at this size. Oddly, TVs became thicker since 2013, sad. Anyway, this new Samsung is a very beautiful model. I appreciate that the new remote is minimal, also is paired with a google home/samsung smart things. So I can turn it on and off with my voice from across a room. Apps like hulu are not laggy. So my Apple TV and Roku are a bit redundant now. Source switching is a bit smarter since 2013. Samsung still has bloatware that gets in the way of a user who has "cut the cord", they offer up uninspired content that I do not want to watch. I was bummed that it had NO headphone jack for a small soundbar that I used to use with the previous model, however I find the speakers to be louder than the older tv.

There are bigger ones out there and more expensive ones but I find nothing lacking in this TV. The picture is impressive with an HDR source but it also does a very good job of upscalling 1080 sources and not too bad at old low resolution BW movies. When I first got the TV I had some problems with the remote, Either updates fixed the issues or I figured out how to use it. Regardless the remote is easier to use it. The TV/remote does well with an external Roku box.

Let me tell you, this amazing 4K QLED TV has the best crystal clear images, I was shocked at how great the speakers on this TV sounds. HDR feature makes it super better with the details on picture and the lighting. Easy to set up, easy to connect it to Wi-Fi and the Ethernet Cable ( in case your modem is close by and don't want to deal with the interner lag). The TV will recognize any device you connect to it. It recognized my Xbox One S in seconds and changed the settings automatically to Game Mode which is mind blowing !!! Also, really easy to connect my new Samsung Galaxy Ear Buds via Bluetooth with this TV. I'm on my way on getting another 4K TV at Best Buy next week, Black Friday deals are more than decent, don't want to wait in line for Nov. 28 and find the TV shelves empty when I can get one at the same price right now. Thanks Samsung, you guys make the best Tv's in the whole wide Universe !!!!! Cheers mates !!!!

The set up was very easy, the instructions were helpful. The picture quality is amazing to say the least. A big upgrade from an LED for us and worth the money. Very vivid colors, the sound is very good without the need of a soundbar. 49" is right size for most rooms and works very well in our large family room. The price was very fair and the sales associate was helpful as well, did not try to sell us but provided a lot of information and demonstrated the many features of the TV. It has been a great purchase for us

Pros: Stunning picture...vivid colors. Sound is more than adequate, decent bass. Cons: limited functions on remote...voice control so so. Real refresh rate of 60 hz...some blurred motion when tracking football, golf ball on putting green.

Our 12 year old HD TV broke, so we needed a new one. We wanted a quality picture without having to spend a fortune or going with a screen 55” or larger. It would have been nice to have the One Connect on the 49”, but it is only available on the 55” and larger. We are super happy with the picture and features. One thing that I wished that we had known beforehand is that if you plan on mounting it to the wall with a wall mount, then you will have to go to the hardware store and get longer bolts (45-50mm) because the VESA threads are set pretty deep in the TV. We got ours at Lowe’s for $2.

Awesome picture quality!!! I will make a suggestion based on experience. KEEP THE SIDE SHIELDS ON anytime you are moving this unit. It is extremely fragile as our first one was damaged bc after we hung it we realized we needed to change the arm. We did not reapply the protective strips. Needless to see we regretted that move. Too much pressure was applied when installing on new arm and damage was done to 2 of the corners. Off we went to get a replacement!

We did research as always and this had great review. What convinced us completely was when we went to the store and were able to see the picture live. It did not disappoint and it looks even better in the room it was chosen for. We loved the picture, the options and the easy setup so much that we bought a much larger version of the same television for our living room.

Very satisfied with this TV. It's my first Smart 4K TV. Colors are great, black is nice and dark like it should be, sound is good although I mainly use surround sound, and not the TV speakers, when using my TV. I love being able to download and watch different streaming services on the TV. Samsung also has their own long list of TV channels that are FREE! Some channels aren't for me but I do enjoy a bunch of their channels. Sometimes I wish the refresh rate for this TV were higher than 60 htz because if something moves fast enough, you can a slight shadowing affect. That's the only reason why I give this TV a 4 out of 5.

Prior to set-up have your password for your Samsung account and the WIFI password. Set-up is quick and easy. My first shock was that the remote control actually will operate the TV and the Spectrum cable DVR box. I was amazed. Be sure to read the one page on how to use the remote in the Quick Start manual. Picture quality (PQ) and color accuracy is excellent. The whites were a little to "hot" for me and I dropped the contrast by 5 points and the brightness a few points. Also, when watching a Blu-ray movie, tun off motion control for a more realistic video - eliminates that terrible movie like image. Have had the stet 3 weeks, replaced a 30" model in my office. Love the set. My only slightly negative comment is on movies with a lot of snow, the white is really too bright. Try using Movie mode to reduce the brightness. Highly recommended.

I give this Sammy 5 stars because of the beautiful, clear almost 3 dimensional picture. The colors are bright, images sharp edged. The sound is good but I use a surround sound set-up so it doesn't matter anyway. 49" is a good size for the bedroom, my room is 12'x15' and my viewing distance is about 10'. Wish I would have gotten a 60".

Picked up this 49" Samsung QLED tv for our den. We were looking at a 42" new in box, but saw this one as an open box. After talking to the sales lady, we went ahead and bought it. Added the warranty since it was an open box and brought it home. Plugged it in and turned it on..wow..what a picture. So glad this open box was the same price as the smaller led tv we were going to get originally

I purchased this TV 18 months ago. I was initially drawn to this TV because of the legs it sits on. You can hide all your cords down through them. I absolutely LOVE this feature!!! My teenager loves the TV for gaming. The picture quality is pretty amazing. The remote is modern and sleek. I'm all about design, and this TV and remote checks all the boxes.
