This TV was great... for the first 12 months. It has good sound, good quality picture, and all the apps I need. A little slow at loading the apps, but no biggie.
But at month 13, the TV started displaying horizontal lines across the bottom. I'm livid! For this price, the TV should last me more than a year.
If you do buy it, make sure to get an extended warranty or protection plan.

TV just arrived earlier today, just got to setting it up tonight. Everything ready, hit the switch, and... A fat white bar is running down the middle of it. Along with the picture being fuzzed out and distorted. The bar is on every single menu, and even present during the picture test. Got this tv to replace a different brand of one that just broke, was excited for the slight "upgrade." The budget brand may have only lasted about six months, but this Samsung didn't even make it past the first second of being turned on. DOA.

Overpriced and not worth it

The TV is "Okay". It is NOT worth the price at all. It does NOT connect to apple Airplay with some Macs. With my laptop, it connected for the first couple of times, but then later on did not work. The sound is not so good, as you increase the sound, it becomes very unclear. I have used this TV for about a year now and I definitely DO NOT recommend buying this one. For this price, you can for sure buy some other TV which will be "way better" than this.

Before buying this TV, I reviews I read were generally very good and often extolled the virtue of the display image (which any 4K TV should have), except some complained about the remote, which has very few buttons than more conventional TVs. However, I like very much the small number of buttons on the remote. They don't limit what I can do, they make it easier to use the remote, because the buttons have different functions depending on where used. It just takes a little time to learn to use it, but the TV often prompts use, and after the short learning curve, it's great. Some people just don't like change or learning new ways. The smart TV streaming options allow you to view almost anything possible on a TV, including a built-in web browser to get to sites not on Google Play Store or Apple App Store. After adding many apps, the only service I couldn't load an app for on the TV was Peacock, because Peacock website wouldn't recognize the Samsung browser. I couldn't get Chrome or FireFox working on the TV, and Peacock didn't have an app in Google Play Store, which is really a shortcoming of Peacock for not having an App on Play Store. Best TV I've every owned, reasonable price, easy to use (once you go through a short and intuitive learning curve), and nice picture. The only thing I could wish to be better is that Bixby isn't very smart about recognizing and executing commands, but I rarely use Bixby.

Ordered it in May and couldn’t install it until today because of contractor finishing her TV area in the newly finished basement. Opened the box today and the top of the screen was cracked. We didn’t open the box until today and was prepping to hang it and now I can’t return it. It arrived this way. I should at least be able to exchange. I have had excellent experience with BestBuy for my other four TV’s.

Steve,
I am very sorry to see that your TU8000 TV screen exhibited crack upon opening and setup. Unfortunately, even if a TV is double-boxed and the packaging shows no evidence of harm, a TV can still be damaged during transit if proper care is not taken. For example, if the TV were sitting in an incorrect orientation -- laid on its side or tilted -- during transit, damage could have been done.

Best buy sold me an open box broken tv. Noticed the wrapping was poorly put back on and there was dust on the tv. When I installed it and turned it on it was damaged. Used curbside pickup. Never again. They just give you what the want.

Great until it broke 3 years after buying

This has been a great TV for the last 3, but it just recently stopped working. The screen now goes from a lit up black to off and the red light on bottom blinks continuously. Every so often the logo of the TV pops up but then it goes dead. There are also green lines (in picture) on bottom randomly. The picture and volume were adequate for my normal TV watching and it worked well with my Xbox. I’m disappointed that it only lasted 3 years, and unfortunately my warranty ended in 2021. Definitely did not last as long as it should have given my average usage.

I've had this TV for a little under two years and it started off working well. The color was vibrant and accurate, the sound was nice and clear. It was easy to set up and use. Unfortunately, it has already stopped working. I have a service call scheduled but it seems that there is a corrupt component inside the TV. I spent too much money to have this issue so soon. I have an older Samsung that's not a "Smart TV" that has lasted 13 years and counting. I had a different one that lasted 12 years. What happened to Samsung's quality?

First off, TV is easy to set up. I use streaming services and the amount of apps on this TV is wonderful. Along with the standards streaming services there is a Samsung selection of channels that adds a lot more content. The picture is amazing and the sound is great. The only complaints are the user interface and remote. The UI isn’t great, but it works, If you don’t have apps saved as “Favorites” they might be difficult to find. The remote doesn’t have a quick input button, so it makes it a little annoying to switch between the different inputs (3 HDMI and 1 Composite). All in all this a great TV and I would highly recommend it.
