Tv worked great for about a year and a half. The right side of the tv now has a flicker and is also darker than the rest of the tv. It will cost more to fix than replace.

    Fantastic TV upgrade

I am not a frequent TV purchaser. However, whenever I do, I make sure to do extensive research on my purchase. Once again, Samsung does an amazing job with their TV. My previous TV was also from Samsung, though it was quite dated, being a 40’’ 720p display. Therefore, this TV was quite the upgrade and I am beyond pleased. The picture is extremely clear and colors are vibrant. My roommate has an LG UJ6300 which is pretty much the LG equivalent to this TV. When comparing the picture qualities, the Samsung seemed to be much better at making the black and dark colors pop out. I had purchased this during Black Friday and I had an employee tell me that this is a Black Friday model and they often downgrade the TV to justify the sale price. When comparing to the original model, the picture quality did not seem any different. Only difference is there’s one less HDMI port and there’s not a fancy remote, which I can easily live without. The only complaint I would have about this TV is in regards to using it with a gaming console. When switching between the game mode and the normal display mode to make movies look their best, the menu option. to do that is a bit annoying to get to. Though it’s not that bad and honestly this is a very petty complaint. I am definitely not one who is very picky with my TVs. Though, given the Black Friday price I paid for it ($399) and the size of the upgrade from my last TV I am absolutely pleased with my purchase. If you’re looking for that 4K upgrade without shoveling out ridiculous amounts of money for the most high end TVs (which in my opinion don’t make enough of a difference to justify the price gap), this is an astounding choice. I’ve yet to be let down by Samsung and I don’t think I’ll be disappointed anytime soon.

I was in BB to "browse" around and wasn't planning on buying anything UNTIL I came across this TV in the back section of the BB TV aisle! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price tag of only $399!!! I had to ask one of the associates nearby to verify if it's actually on sale, and sure enough he let me know it's a special promo! Grabbed a cart and loaded this bad boy and came out the store with a brand new 4K TV! It has an HDR PRO and I tested this out with my Xbox One X -- boy it looks awesome, but this will not be my main 4K gaming TV though as I already have one. Overall, this is a MUST get for this holiday season if you're looking for a superior quality 4K TV without hurting your wallet! Great gifting option too!

Picked this TV up yesterday as a replacement for my bedroom TV. Despite what the site says it does have HDR Pro and showed HDR compatible with my Xbox One S. Even says so on the box. I also have a 65" Sony X930D 4k HDR in the living room and they both have comparable lights and darks. Had to tweak the motion settings but once I did it had a similar quality to the Sony at a fraction of the cost. Doesn't get as bright but that's understandable as the Sony will do close to 1000nits. If you want a great 4K HDR TV, look no further!

Note: I cannot assess the 4k quality in full; I'm giving this 5 stars because I'm really happy with everything else, but I don't know if it's super amazing with a 4k player, at least not yet. We got this tv on the black friday special. It's a step up from our 32" Samsung that I'd bought back almost 10 years ago. That was an lcd 720. Which looks fine on a 32" and the Samsung quality has been excellent over the years. The 50" LED 4K is impressively crisp. There is a occasionally a little loss of pixel control on sports, because the motion is so fast. But ordinary TV looks almost strangely real. Occasionally, the picture is so fine that the programming actually looks more fake. That's the only complaint I'd have with the TV--it's such high fidelity that HD signal can suddenly look, well, artificial. It's strange to describe. However, the size of this TV is, I think, great. I wouldn't want anything larger, but it is nicer than the 32" was by far for movies and TV. The sound is also good for just the tv, and I like the level of control on the sound--very minute adjustments possible. The wireless setup is easy (I had problems only because I had issues with the cable itself at one point) and with high speed input, the quality of streaming is great. Easy to use, and very smart (the TV will switch on if you turn on a peripheral!) though the menus are a little weird and moving from service to service or back to cable or BluRay is sometimes annoying. The streaming 4k we have looks great, but I will say without a 4k player, I cannot comment on that quality decisively.

This is a great television. The color is incredibly sharp. I also appreciate the ease of use of the menu for the Smart features. We also have a Samsung BluRay player and having similar menus makes it that much easier to use. One small complaint with the television that I have is that the volume differs greatly from one channel to the next. So we have to do a lot of volume adjusting as we change channels. Otherwise, very happy with the TV and volume issues aside, would still recommend this TV to others.

This is my first Samsung HDTV ever and I've loved every bit of it so far. If I could request/suggest 1 thing to be changed, it would be the remote. I much prefer lighter/smaller remotes, but that's just a preference. The picture quality has been amazing, and I'm still trying to get my head around on how to get the HDR setup done correctly. But so far so great. Picture quality is amazing, love the pre-installed apps, xbox games feels amazing.

Bought this TV right before black Friday on the Best Buy Presale. Needed a smart TV for upstairs and this was a good price and had all the things I wanted in a smart tv. For the price, it was a good deal. Set up was easy. It's flaws...not many but there are some. if you have any other Samsung product like I do, the tv controller will control them as well. the volume on the tv remote will control the volume on my sound bar and tv at the same time, which I didn't like. so you will have to do some troubleshooting, but it's normal. otherwise, it's a great product.

Wasn't quite sure what to expect for such a great price. It was a gift for our daughter. Set up was simple. The picture is really nice. We are all very pleased with the quality and ease of this TV. We have been going over to watch the football games because her TV is now nicer than ours!

Good tv so far, but nothing special. I had a sharp LCD SHD (1080), 120Hz refresh Tv before this, purchased in 2009 and it still worked, but when I saw this tv on sale for black Friday, I opted to test out what UHD with LED backlighting looked like, and it's definitely looks better. The smart features are also convenient, but nothing more than that. A lot of the digital movie services such as Amazon and vudu are supposively merging with another centralized server which isn't an available app yet, so I had issues watching a new digital copy movie using the smart hub. Otherwise the picture is good, better than what i had, but nothing significantly better. Not sure if it's 4x the res. I think the pic only looks better because of LED to be honest. I am also using a 4k able Xbox 1 x and watching 4k movies for this comparison. All in all if you need a good tv for $400 it's worth it. Not yet worth the upgrade from a good 1080tv though.

A brilliant picture that gets even more astounding when viewing 4K programs. Smart TV enables easy access to Netflix where a large number of 4K programming is available. Easy to set up and the Best Buy price was a huge bonus.

I love this TV, not only because it is a 4K with HDR pro but the price was really good deal. I checked online and in several places but Best Buy had it for the best price in Black Friday! Watching GoT in 4K HDR is amazing!

I used to be a Best buy associate in the Home Theater Department in my hometown of Brooklyn NY (Shoutout to 599) and I was more of a Sony guy, than Samsung. However, i love this TV! The pixel bursted on my Sony 4k after only 3 and a half years( thank God I opted for that 5 yr plan) and i got a full refund for the funds i spent on my Sony, which I used to purchase this affordable entry level 4k. My only gripe is that it has only 2 HDMI inputs, so it forces you to use an optical cable for your sound bar instead of the much better HDMI option, but with that being aside, i have it mounted on brick on a full motion rocketfish mount and LOVE the colors and the picture! If you're in the market for a TV and are getting a 1080 HD because you don't want to spend much, pay the few extra buck and get this cheaper entry level 4k! You will be glad you did!

Great clear picture and sound. Have this in my basement and can hear it from 50 feet away! Love the remote; don't even need my Satellite remote because this works everything. Easy to set up. I did turn off the "auto motion plus" setting because it was too jittery and gave me a headache to watch it! Once I toggled that off, the picture is awesome! I have several other Samsung TVs and love them, but have always tinkered with the color settings; this TV doesn't need any adjustment in the color - really great true colors. Love this TV and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

This TV is listed as non-HDR on Best Buy's website. The box clearly states "HDR Pro" and the settings on the TV allow you to turn on/off HDR. I'm not sure if HDR Pro is simply an unofficial HDR specification or simply Samsung marketing speak. What I do know is the HDR setting is turned off by default and you must enable it for every single output. I wish there was a global setting for HDR and it was on by default. Overall excellent image quality. The base feels like it's made out of lower quality plastic.
