The TV definitely provides a quality of picture I wasn't expecting. The only downside that I have found is Samsung customer service. I called in to register my warranty and had the most trouble getting the representative to understand I needed a confirmation, which resulted in me speaking to 6 different reps.

Let me start off by saying that this SAMSUNG QLED is CAPTIVATING and very innovative. It has an amazing picture quality and vibrant color spectrum due to Samsung’s quantum dot technology. They are the absolute brightest colors with deep and true blacks that I have ever seen on a TV. Overall, I think that this TV is refined, updated and suitable for movie watchers, sports fans, video gamers or technology lovers like myself. Just a beginning note: even though this was an incentivized review as part of a promotion, these comments are honest and they are mine. The design of packaging was beautiful and well-engineered! The unboxing was pleasing to eyes and the geek inside me as well. Each step was carefully calculated to maximize the user experience while creating “Christmas present-like” anticipation. They even figured out how to use the curved Styrofoam part of the packing as a stool to set the TV on while you attach your connections. The instructions were detailed and on point. I personally did not use the stand that came with the TV, I instead used a wall mount. One thing to keep in mind is if you are going to wall mount the TV, make sure you have the proper bolts which are listed in the manual. I had to run to Home Depot to get a few, luckily I only live 8 minutes from there. The stand that came with it however was very well built, beautiful and sleek with the ability to hide the cables from your TV to the OneConnect box. The “Boundless 360° design” is amazing, not quite infinity edge but very close. Most edges really are pencil thin and the ability to hide/run cables through the supplied mount is genius One comment on the back of the TV would be that it is sleek and visually pleasing, I feel that the grooves/ridges give a slimmer than actual look. On a side note: is the one box a good idea? It does declutter the cables if you are wall mounting but if not, it just adds to the additional boxes that you have. For me it does reduce the wires on the wall but I gain another box (which is a pretty good size) you have to find a place for. I will let you decide, I think I would rather have extra cable than another box to deal with. The set-up process was rather fast, simple and straight forward. There was a power cable and super thin HDMI cable (which by the way is $299) that goes from the back of the TV to the OneConnect box. One thing to note is you need to outlets for power, one for the TV and one for the OneConnect box. From the moment you turn it on you will be amazed!! There will be a little demo and then it walks you through the setup process. It connected to all of my devices except the sound system (which I will describe later). The Samsung QLED TV is a serious upgrade from the first generation UN46B6000VF that I replaced with it! This TV has some of the most strikingly bright and sharpest colors I have viewed on ANY TV. There were a few times while watching a movie that it was so lifelike that it looked fake. The colors that are produced with this TV are absolutely stunning!! The only caveat that I have with that is at night when watching in total darkness the colors can almost seem too bright and actually hurt my eyes (this is in Dynamic Picture Mode). The factory setting menu has a bright white background and is SUPER bright. However, they have a setting you can change to make it darker color so that it doesn’t hurt your eyes. One of the issues I found when viewing in daylight and at night is local dimming and “blooming”. This is one of the downfall of edge-lit displays. While viewing a local dimming/blooming example from YouTube ( https://youtu.be/qmL2H2WPQL8 ) in day or night conditions it still has a good amount of “blooming”. This TV is AWESOME in almost every viewing mode i.e. Xbox One playing, Xfinity TV, Amazon Video, Netflix (With Ultra High Def.) I have tested almost everything but the PC and it is absolutely amazing. I have never owned a curved TV but have seen then in stores and this one hasn’t disappointed me. The only time you even notice that it is really curved is if you are standing directly beside it. While watching 8-10 feet way on the couch or directly in front or off to the sides of it you never even notice that it is curved. The contrast and picture from the front and slightly off to the sides is amazing! One thing about this particular TV is that when you move past 45° from the center the stunning colors start to diminish. This is particularly disappointing as they have boasted “Picture perfect view from every seat” which in my testing just wasn’t the case. As much as I wanted to give perfect marks this was a major disappointment. The remote is metal with upgraded feel, sleek and stylish well thought out! Even the batteries have a little button to push to get the batteries out. The remote works with all my other components just fine. I do think that there is learning curve to using this remote with all the other components. My wife hates that there is a lack of buttons like fast forward and rewind for when we are watching recorded shows. Don’t get me wrong you CAN fast forward but it requires some extra button pushing. I think that the larger remote just has more functionality. I do like the idea of simplification but all the functionality is there. The voice functions on the remote actually work very well with little to no background interference. The total inputs for this model are: HDMI-4, USB-3, Digital Optical Audio Out-1, Tuner (Cable/Ant)-1, and Ethernet-1. I feel that it has plenty of options for inputs. The inherent speakers sound average in my opinion. The sound quality is not excellent but it isn’t terrible either. I do have a 5.1 Samsung surround sound system that I use. With that being said there has been some complications on the TV recognizing it. It recognizes it then just goes back to the onboard speakers instead. I have contacted Samsung customer support to rectify this issue. Once the issue is addressed and rectified I will update my review. The apps function of this TV are AMAZING. I can get to all the things I love at the click of the button in less than second. This function is fluid and fast, just an amazing feature that works better than intended in my opinion. The interface is smooth and simple and zero lag. I can get to my cable, Netflix, Amazon and YouTube in a split second. In conclusion: The PRO’s -Great Design very sleek and modern -Bright, Vivid Color -Deep Black and Strong Contrast -“Boundless 360° design” -Easy to use from the start -Apps are not glitchy and work great -The speakers are not that bad The CON’s -The picture washes out as the viewing angle increases -Local dimming/blooming issues -The remote is too simple/has no numbers -Recognizing components is sometimes glitchy -Lack of 3D capabilities at this price point -The price is high for what you get In closing this TV has the most amazing colors I have ever seen. It is sleek and modern with a super easy user interface and a plug and play feel. Which is what most consumers are looking for these days. For those super techy people this TV may be lacking especially at this price point. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this Samsung QLED Q7C.

The Samsung QLED Q7C is a beautiful TV with one of the best pictures I’ve seen, and some interesting innovations. Just FYI if you’re buying this in a store and are trying to decide between delivery and taking it home yourself-- I was able to fit it in the back of my 2013 Honda Accord across the back seats. First please note that I received this set at a discount for an incentivized review as part of a promotion. The opinions that follow are entirely my own. Caution: this is going to be long. I’ve used keywords words at the beginning of each section to make it easier to skip to a particular feature: Samsung did a fantastic job packing this TV set. It’s packing into form-fitting Styrofoam that really protects the set. In a pretty smart innovation the curved piece of Styrofoam it’s packed with can also be used to place the set onto while working on the back for the initial set ups and connections. The stand that comes with the set is beautiful and sturdy. It’s designed to hide the connection wires and does a great job with that. I utilized the stand at first until the wall-mount I ordered came. I used a standard generic wall-mount from Amazon, but I did have to go to Home Depot and get a couple of screws as the set definitely needs “spacers” at the top in order for the mount to fit correctly, and the screws that came with the mount were not long enough. The TV is wider at the bottom than the top (I assume due to the curve) but it states in the instructions that most standard wall mounts designed for curved sets will work. Supposedly Samsung has a proprietary mount coming, but as of this writing it is unavailable. The connection process is—interesting. Samsung has an innovation called “one-connect” that basically places all your connections in one spot away from the TV. There is a proprietary connection that goes from the TV to the “one-connect” box, then all your other devices plug into the one connect box. It’s clearly designed for cable management and wall-mounting, and gives the TV a nice, clean look when mounted on a wall. Of course, you may run into the issue I had—if your home is “pre-wired” for a wall-mount a regular HDMI cable will NOT work. I had to remove it and—thankfully—Samsung’s plug fit and the wire was long enough. The plug end is larger than an HDMI cable, but the wire is razor thin and clear, so if you do wall mount the wire is designed to be invisible. There was enough cable for me to feed it through the wall with plenty left over on the “spool” it comes with. Connections and set-up were simple. Be aware you need two open outlets for this TV—one for the TV itself and one for the one-connect box. There are only two wires from the back of the TV—everything else plugs into the box itself. When you power it on there is a fantastic demo displaying the “Q” and lots of color, then the TV walks you through the set-up itself. It was pretty simple. I understand if you have a Samsung phone it’s even easier, but I don’t anymore. You will need to set up a Samsung account but that is very simple (besides, you’ll want to register this TV for sure). In another pretty cool innovation the TV recognizes what you have plugged in and will set-up the remote to work that device…when it works it’s pretty neat, but it’s hit-or-miss. It immediately recognized and controlled my roku 4, but it mislabeled my AT&T box as a Comcast box. It recognized the Xbox One S, but did not recognize my Denon receiver at all—although set up for unrecognized devices is a breeze. The TV walks you through step-by-step for an unrecognized device and automatically goes through the codes until it finds one that works. Connecting to the internet was pretty much the same as any other device. Setting up all your various accounts (Hulu, Netflix, VUDU, etc) is as annoying and time-consuming as it is on any device without a keyboard. The remote is going to take some getting used to (see picture). Frankly it looks like an older style iPod without the screen. It’s easy enough to use for basic functions, but can take some getting used to for more advanced settings. It probably took me longer than it should have to figure out that the volume and channel controls were toggle switches. Most everything is controlled by the “home” button, with the channel and source menu displaying across the bottom of the screen. The radial dial on the remote moves you back and forth. It gets a bit tedious at times—particularly if you want a function that’s on the far right or left, as you have to scroll through everything. Some shortcut buttons on the remote would have been nice here, but that would take away from that sleek looking design…There are some “free” buttons on the remote for programming favorites that would save a step or two, I just haven’t done that yet. You can “talk” to the remote with voice commands. I don’t do this as I feel like an idiot talking to any technology, but others may get some use out of this. It did seem to work when I tested it , but more often than not I hit the button by accident and had to use the “back” button to turn it off. Also it’s limited in that it takes you to “Netflix” when you say “Netflix”…but Netflix doesn’t use voice commands yet so you still had to manually search for a show to watch. The included apps are pretty standard—Netflix, Hulu, VUDU, Amazon, HBO GO and more are all included, and there’s a lot more available from the app store. Plex is available if you’re familiar with it—and will install if it detects a Plex account on your network—which I thought was pretty cool. I did not see any iTunes support, but I don’t really use apple products so I wasn’t too concerned. The speakers on this TV are terrific. I imagine most people will be using this as a center piece for a home theater set-up, so this won’t matter to most, but if you only want to hear the TV speakers they are top tier for a television set. I was using a Panasonic 1080p and occasionally had to turn it all the way up to hear it in my living room—this TV does not have that issue. It gets very loud and the sound quality is crisp and clear. The picture on this TV is stunning! It’s easily one of the best pictures I’ve seen on any TV set—so long as you are sitting at the right position (ideally head-on). The colors are vivid and bright, and the blacks are rich and thick. This is my first “curved” TV so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. As you move farther to the edges some faults start to appear. The picture washes out a bit, and edge-lighting issues that aren’t obvious from the front become very obvious from angles (see picture). You should definitely take this into account in your room set-up and placement of the TV. The backlighting can be adjusted but the picture dims accordingly. You can NOT see this from most natural viewing angles, but if you’re a stickler for this sort of thing or are going to have an unusual set-up this may not be the TV for you. Most programming is still 1080p (or worse) and the picture looks terrific in that mode. It “upscales” as much as the device that’s connected allows and looks really good doing so. You can use the very good presets for sports, movies, natural, etc. or you can adjust each item (contrast, tint, etc) individually to your liking. Personally I prefer the “natural” mode. The 4k sources that I used were amazing. If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber there is quite a bit of 4k programming available there. Netflix also has a lot of 4k programming that looks terrific. Nearly every Netflix original is available in 4k. “Sense8” in particular looks amazing, particularly because so much attention was paid to the cinematography of that series. I also watched “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” from a 4k disc through my Xbox One S and it looked fantastic as well! That’s a very dark movie, and we watched it for family movie night with the room dark—it looked as good as it did in the theater. My caveats about this set are few and far between, but I do have some: It’s an interesting idea not having the connections on the set itself, but I’m not sure I love the idea. Again, in a pre-wired home it was a bit of a hassle to undo some of the wiring to make this work. If you like backlighting with LED lights this will also be inconvenient since those are usually powered through USB connections on the back of the set. Also since the wiring is proprietary it’s VERY expensive to replace the main connection wire—I believe on Samsung’s website it’s $150. The backlighting from angles is not ideal and the picture simply doesn’t look as good as it should at an angle. It can be adjusted down, but that darkens the picture overall. Straight-on like my set up it looks amazing, but if you’re going to have people viewing the set from the side it washes out a bit. The mount from Samsung not being available yet is a hassle if you are a stickler about matching brands, particularly since the Samsung mount is supposed to make the TV appear “flush” against the wall. It looks fine with the generic mount, but it's odd that Samsung did not have the mount ready to go upon release. The remote is both simple and complicated. It takes some getting used to and looks really cool, but I miss the functionality of a larger remote. Like most technology today there’s no real “manual” –just a quick set-up guide and instruction on how to get to the manual in the TV itself. That’s annoying, but again it’s pretty common these days. This is a very complicated piece of technology and an actual, physical manual would have been nice to have. In summary this TV set is terrific and would make a fantastic center-piece for any home theater set-up, but does have some quirks that users may not appreciate and may keep it from being ideal in certain set-ups.

So it's been a few days since I've received my Samsung QLED tv and I'm beginning to love it more each day. Before being granted the opportunity to test out this tv as part of a promotional campaign, the thought of owning a curved tv had never crossed my mind. I never understood the point of having a curved display and have always owned flat screen tvs. Right out of the box, I was amazed at how thin it is, unlike other TV's that are currently in the market, the Samsung QLED tv doesn't have bumps in the back for connections and has a metallic finish which makes it look sleek and stylish. The invisible connection wire, one connect box along with the instruction manual made setting up the tv extremely easy. When powered on, the one connect box detects all of your connected devices including your phone (it detected my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge). The tv is Bright, Bold and Beautiful in every aspect! One of the things that really stood out to me was the One Remote, although it is small, it feels heavy in the hand and shows you what Samsung is all about...making quality products! I also love the smart hub! It's very easy to understand and navigate the tv with. I love how all of my favorite apps are displayed on the bottom and the response time from the moment you click on an app to it being loaded is extremely fast! The tv speakers are strong and powerful for them being just 40 watts each. And finally, the display and picture: the display is bright, sharp and crystal clear. Even though this is an edge-lit display, Samsung did an amazing job with the brightness and colors using the quantum-dot technology and reducing the amount of glare on the screen. Design: The Samsung QLED TV is a masterpiece! With its beautiful and well crafted thin borders measuring 0.8 CM, it produces an elegant presentation.The curve displays a luxurious look that will engage you and create a one of kind viewing experience. I own the Q7C 55’ model, which is a decent size but thanks to its thin borders and attractive design it displays like you have a much bigger panel. The QLED also features no inputs behind the television other than the smart connect hub which connects all your input platforms. It then connects to the TV through one HDMI that hides through the stand and above all, keeps all the wire clutter away from your TV and creates an invisible connection. Picture Quality: The new metal quantum dots technology brings the QLED colors to life; its shades and brightness levels of colors give a stunning picture and a realistic look. The QLED creates a vivid contrast image, bringing dark colors and bright colors to an extraordinary image. Out of the box the QLED has decent default preset settings but once the settings are set correctly, the QLED can produce a stunning 4k picture. Testing the QLED with a PlayStation 4 Pro and an Xbox One S really surprised me, both consoles pushed HDR content at a 4k resolution, and let me tell you, the results were stunning! Video games on the PS4 Pro look superb and very detailed, while 4K movies on the Xbox One S looked astonishing. Sound Quality: The Sound quality on the QLED is especially fantastic. The TV speakers will not replace any surround sound system, but it produces a rich sound with a deep bass, for such a thin television it's quite surprising. Smart TV and Control: In one place you can access your content platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, Spotify, etc, as well as your settings, input sources, devices and search for content through all your connected platforms creating a brilliantly easy viewing experience. The One Remote features a microphone where you can speak commands, request TV shows without numbers or button clusters. Cons: Colors and contrast can become dull at certain viewing angles.The smart remote does rely heavily on the smart hub, so essentially, all your functions would be controlled through the television settings. Overall: The QLED TV's stunning and remarkable picture quality can easily engage you! Its bright and deep colors create a life-like viewing experience. Holy moly! I stopped in to check out these new “QLED” TVs by Samsung to see if it was a gimmick or what... and the live demonstrations blew me away! I was just considering a new tv to go with the new Xbox one X, and after watching and comparing, I decided to buy in! I set it up alone at home (super easy) and I am still astounded! The tv is so sharp and bright, it almost looks live. It’s had to explain but the curved screen pulls u into the picture, and the clarity is something u must see to believe. This is the next step in Ultra HD. PS Xbox games look so amazing now, it’s drool worthy for any gamer! Awesome display.

Love this model...has a nice sleek upscale look and really love the sleek cable attachment to the connect box. Very easy to attach additional equiptment to the box instead of the tv itself. The curve increases the viewing angle quite nicely. The picture is awesome when viewing 4k movies. Nice black depths and color is great. Due to the thin profile, would be great to mount on the wall if desired. The remote is slim but weighted nicely. Takes a few mins to find all the usage as it is a clean and simple design. The only downside I see is that it stays on standby when turned off which would draw power. Need to unplug if not to be used for awhile. Was easy to setup and get running. Lots of features that I have yet to use but I am very happy with it. For the price point, should have had 3D capability as well ...not a cheap tv but I keep mine for many years and have never had issues with Samsung models. Would reccomend to others.

This Samsung TV has a incredible picture. My first curved TV. The colors are great. Don't like TV remote. To difficult to figure out. Says 4K but you have to have 4 k provider. Direct TV currently has 3 channels total. Hope more come on board. Sound quality is not that good. No Bass sound. I am looking for a soundbar. Wait for a sale. Would not pay $2,800 for this. Under $2,000 yes

This is a great TV!! I recently bought the Sony A1E OLED, but returned it days later because of a ripple is the screen. The store did not have a replacement and told me that they have heard about this in the Sony oleds. I decided to try out the 55” Q7c. Not only did it save me about $700, but I like the picture quality much better. People rave about the deep blacks in oleds, but I like the brighter screens offered in LED’s. Very happy about my new purchase.

Just received this TV 4 days ago and so far it is as great as the model we viewed in the Best Buy store. The color is the sharpest I have ever seen. The resolution creates a truly realistic picture. The slight curvature helps to create a wonderful viewing experience wherever one is seated in the room. This TV is excellent!

I walked in and saw an open box tv, and then I really started looking. I really loved the Samsung and then I saw the Q7C, I must say watching TV is so much more enjoyable with this TV, the colors are amazing and the detail is so awesome with the 240hz that it has kinda ruined some of the effect in watching my favorite zombie show (they look fake)! One thing it didn’t show on the box was you can actually download an app for steamlink (I can play my steam games from my computer on my tv!!!!) I can’t say enough about this tv so far. I also gained some space in my living room because it’s so thin.

This was very easy to set up. The smart remote is really cool with ability to voice where you want to go. The picture quality is really awesome.

Fantastic picture, sound, easy to use and sharp to look at

I initially wasn't thrilled about the curved screen TV's. Seeing as a flat screen was back ordered, I decided to go with this model. I have to say that I am a convert and now really like the curve. Samsung makes excellent TVs and now I've started saving up to replace my old living room TV with another curved Samsung QLED.

Great contrast and picture quality. It may not be quite as good as an LG OLED tv, but it's definitely the 2nd best on the market right now. I actually got this as an open box item in perfect condition and paid $1400 instead of $2000 so I got a great deal and there wasn't a scratch on it.

I didn't know the difference in the LED vs QLED would be as remarkable as it is. My thanks to the wonderful telephone representative who took the time to go through all of the specs with me and assist in making my final decision.

Excellent tv with amazing picture quality. Easy to set up as well. The sound is pretty good as well but I do recommend a proper sound system to do the picture justice.

I am impressed with sharpness of the pictures detail and color contrasts. Viewing some scenes feels like I am there watching the scenes being recorded live.
