I was originally shopping for a 7 or 8 series for the price point. Really glad I went for the 9 series since it has the upgraded screen. My room has windows on three sides and glare does appear to be minimized on this TV. Added the Samsung sound bar and it all looks and sounds great!!

I hate to write this since all of the other reviews are so high and multiple Best Buy consultants love this TV. I have been watching color TV since 1966 and cant believe how bad facial color is. Also this TV turns many different greens into an unrealistic neon green. I have spent hours adjusting picture with no great results and then go back to the factory resets. I have 8 TV's in my house including three Insignias, Panasonic plazma, Sharp and LG. All of the TV's mentioned were plugged in, turned on and look great without any adjustment. The Insignias were very low cost but still look great. Attached is an example of a pool table on this new Samsung 9000 with unrealistic neon green and then the same shot with a realistic pool table green on my 10 year old Panasonic. Best Buy employee says I should enjoy the vibrant unrealistic colors but if not the Geek Squad will come to my house and calibrate the color for $250.00. I wish I would have spent $599 on the cheaper Samsung 6300 instead of $1200 for a TV with such unrealistic color.

This is a great TV! I had been looking to replace my older Samsung HDTV with a new 4K to match up with my sound bar. After looking around and comparing a lot of different ones It came down to a Sony X900 series or the Samsung MU8000 series. By the time I got around to buying it the MU9000 series had come out and the price on sale was the same. The specs were a little better for the color space also. I really like the new small remote that also controls my sound bar and Blu-Ray player. The on screen interface is fantastic. Quick and easy to use even if you don't read the instructions. Quick and easy to setup but for the best experience you will need a Samsung account. Also if you have a Samsung phone or other device you can transfer the settings for usernames / passwords and networking over to the TV. Connections are all handled from a small external box you can hide behind everything else or in a drawer somewhere. It's much better than making all of the connections on the monitor itself. On the box there are 4 HDMI high speed 2.2 ports, one with ARC for a sound bar. 2 USB 2.0 ports, digital optical out and an external RF antenna port. Connections on the monitor are: 1 USB 2.0, 100Mb/s Network connection, power and the connector to the breakout box with the HDMI ports. The picture is fantastic! I can't really say a lot about it as it's pretty subjective but with the up conversion, watching an old 1960s SD black and white or color show looked better than watching the same thing on DVD with no artifacts or blocking. It was kind of strange actually. One BIG surprise I had was the TV guide feature that actually worked for off the air channels from my antenna. Everything was listed!. There is also a feature where you can schedule the TV to change sources and channels to tune in a show when it's scheduled to come on. With a USB plugged in you can also time shift the live TV you are watching while it's on. So if you tune into a show and want to rewind a little bit to catch something you missed, you can do that. And if you live anywhere except the USA or Canada you can record anything off the air. That is awesome and almost makes me want to move to Mexico. :) Not really. Buy this you will not regret it.

I purchased the Samsung 55" MU9000 series 4K HDTV to replace my defective Sony XBR-55X930D and I must say that I'm definitely impressed with the picture quality, especially the black levels! The Tizen OS is definitely different from Android but is smooth and a great welcome. The One Connect Mini is great to connect all your devices to since it can be stowed away and it automatically detects any device you connect as well as label it! The remote is also very minimalist but feels more premium than the remote that came with the Sony. Overall, if you're looking for a great alternative to OLED and don't have the budget for Samsung's QLED series, then I highly recommend giving the MU9000 series a try!

This Samsung TV replaced my 10 yr old Samsung DLP TV. This TV has superior picture quality & the white & black colors really stand out on this model. When the HDR mode is on, you'll need "your shades on" because it's very bright. The streaming from my phone is also seamless. Just tap the cast icon on your phone & it goes right to the TV. There's also lots of good apps that come pre-installed. Finally the One Connect box is a nice touch for easily connecting other electronic devices with a HDMI cable. IMO Samsung is hands-down the best TV on the market.

Decent TV for the price. If you’re going to spend the money for an MU Series then to get more bang for your bucks I suggest you just go ahead and pay upfront for the MU9000. I’ve had lower MU models and wasn’t quite as sold on the picture quality and colors as I was on this tv. The black levels and contrast level and overall color just wasn’t as vibrant. If there was one negative I would say it has to be the connection hub and the smart connection setup - it will instantly try to configure the device once you plug into any inputs on the hub. There is an option to turn it off but it doesn’t work very well and Samsung hasn’t come out with a fix or firmware update for it yet.

Very pleasantly surprised by both the ease of set up and the picture quality. Essentially, setup is completely plug and play. I have a FIOS box and expected the usual issues. After the mechanical process of stand attachment and HDMI cabling, I turned it on and it "discovered" my FIOS Box and even setup itself up to handle the remote!! Sweet!! The slight caveat is the viewing angle. All the reviews mentioned it. The picture quality head-on is stunning and the viewing cone of approx. 40 deg either side of centerline maintains that image. Go outside essentially a 90 deg cone and the image quality starts to wash out. For us, a slight rotation of the screen to center on an L shaped couch was perfect and allowed us to maximize the price savings. If viewing angle is an issue, you'll either have to go to a higher priced Samsung model or another brand. Another perk was the single box with all connections one could want for ancillary devices and then a single wire to the TV. At first it seemed like a gimmick that wouldn't apply but we've since added an Apple TV and also plug in HDMI to my laptop for mirroring. Overall a great set. Again, the setup was so automatic that I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Although we had to wait 3 weeks for our new 9000 series Samsung Smart TV to arrive, it was worth the wait! My son came over and set it all up. It was not complicated at all, very easy instructions to follow. This has a superb picture and very easy to use. Our first smart tv and we love it! I would definitely recommend this TV!

I started searching for TV's back in May, when the new models come out. I was mainly looking at Sony TV's like the 900e and the 800e, I was going to wait and pull the trigger on black Friday, but I kept on hearing how bad the android software was on these TV's, so I scratched them off the list. So I started researching TV's which brought me to the Samsung mu9000, I looked at the reviews and the specs were perfect, as no one had any problems with the tizen operating system which is fast and responsive. I pulled the trigger on black friday, and the reviews were right on point, the black levels are inky black and the colors are gorgeous. I went to YouTube on this tv too see what 4k hdr looked like, because this was the main reason I bought this tv, I just want to say my mouth dropped when I saw this picture on the screen, I have never seen something so beautiful in my life. This takes tv watching to a new level and so far I am pleased with my purchase. I have a 9 year old samsung which still works as good as day one so I hope this one does the same.

I had to buy a new tv because my plasma tv got fried from lightning. After quite a bit of looking my wife and I decided on this model from Samsung. The Geek Squad set it up and was very good at explaining the features. I could not be happier. The picture is awesome and it is very easy to change the settings. I highly recommend it.

This is an excellent tv with a lot of bang for your buck. The picture is stunning and crisp. Colors really pop and the blacks are pretty solid. It can take some tweaking to get the image to your liking, and some of the settings are tucked away deep in the menus, but once you get everything to your liking it's terrific. I would highly recommend this tv.

The picture quality is amazing and it was really easy to set up. My model is the latest and I'm very happy with it. It was easy to set up my X Box X, even though I had to do a bunch of advanced options to get the full functionality of the new system. I bought a soundbar to enhance the sound, but am very happy with the system.

Spectacular picture and overall functionality! I originally was looking at the 8000 series and after reading the reviews, felt it was worth the extra money to go to the 9000 series - you will not be disappointed either. Love the voice activated remote! I find it very intuitive and has connected seamlessly to my other gadgets. Also like the external One Connect box for connecting all your external appliances, no moving the TV around to hook/unhook something up and the cable management system is nice too, no wad of cords coming out of the back of the TV, it all runs thru the TV stand. The stand provides good support as well. Sound is very good so I didn't bother with getting a soundbar system at all. Have been able to install all/any apps (not just what they offer - like Sony). Having an external keyboard and mouse are a great addition and I surf the internet much easier than my 6000 series too! VERY please overall!!!

Love the quality of the TV. The picture looks just as good or better than the Q series. The Q series is over priced compared to this TV model. The speakers are ok and didn't have to purchase a sound bar. Negatives are the stand. I didn't wall mount the TV and it sits lopsided so had to put something under it to make it level. Terrible design. I did get the picture calibration because i have with TV's in the past and it was worth every penny. This time I wish I didn't. Waste of money. The TV has so many picture calibration options you don't need someone coming in to do it for you.

Good compromise between cost and value. There are better high end 4K tv in the market but this one is just enough. Huge improvement in response time for the smart menu compared to 2016 models. Image quality is good even on 720p/1080p movies and tv shows. I use mainly Netflix for 4K and HDR contents. Also watching some 4K documentaries on DIRECTV. This gives an amazing image with plenty of details, great colors and good contrast. Only down side compared with 2016 tv, no DS Video app on the 2017 tv for streaming my videos from my Synology NAS. I have to use Chromecast instead.
