    Backlight bleeding on dark screens

I wasn't able to see this due to the stores being bright enough to hide this. Once I got the TV home and was watching it in a dark room the backlight bleeding through every where is extremely distracting and I wish I had spent my money on a different TV. After reading reviews regarding the back light it sounds like a common issue. I wish I would have found the bad reviews prior to purchasing this TV. I only loaded a picture of one corner but this is happening across the entire TV.

I did my research before I purchased this tv. I read reviews for this series of Samsung, Sony’s and LGs. I knew I wanted the QLED series but didn’t want to pay the pretty penny tag that came with it. I had to wait a week or 2 before I purchased this TV at a Best Buy Outlet in Dallas (based on availability) so I was skeptical until they pulled it out the box and plugged it in. If you are not familiar with the process, you have to purchase the tv first before knowing what’s all included in the box. Although a little nerve racking, everything was inside and functioned properly. There was a small scratch near the logo at the bottom of the tv but worth the discount I got it for. Regarding the TVs quality, it’s perfect for watching games or movies. It’s loud enough to not have to use a sound bar and big enough to watch it from my kitchen (15 yards away). The picture shows clear but I have noticed a glare from the ceiling fan when the lights are on (cut the lights off for a simple fix). I love Samsung over Sony even though most tv heads recommended Sony. This was the best TV for my home, my budget and most of all me.

The Best Gaming TV Out There!!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First off, i CANNOT believe i got this. $3000 TV for only $1,999, AMAZING BlackFriday Special!!! With that said... I mainly purchased this TV for gaming on my Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, and Nintendo Switch, and also from time to time movie watching with the wife. I was working with a $2100 budget from the start, in the end i boiled it down to either the 65" Sony x900f, or this 75" Samsung Q6FN. While doing my research, i found out that Sony's X-Motion technology cannot be implemented during gaming, this was super disappointing for me as i really wanted the smooth motion during my game play, a TV with good Motion Rate Tech during play can make a game that is running at 30fps look like it is running at 60fps, it's a godsend for gamers, and fairly new as TV's never use to allow this for gaming. Also, while Sony's X900F does have Freesync for gaming, Freesync cannot be implemented unless the game is running at 48fps or over. What Freesync does is it monitors the FPS of the game, when the game drops in frames, the Freesync compensates for this loss of frames and makes it look as if you are getting a constant 30 or 60 FPS at all times (whatever the games constant FPS is), really cool tech, but not the same as smooth motion technology. This is where the Samsung Q6FN really shines! This TV not only has Freesync, but it also allows it's "Auto Motion Plus" technology to be implimented during game play! This was the deal braker for me, as these days most graphic intensive games run at 30fps, and on a TV this size (75") you can REALLY tell as the blur and jitter of a game running at 30fps shows like an eyesore, and this i will get back to in a minute. With that said, upon picking up the TV from Best Buy in my Mini Van, getting home and mounting it on my wall, i was absolutely BLOWN AWAY with the brightness of this set (i told my wife that i felt like i was looking at the sun!!! lol!). Any gamer knows that if you do not have the brightness (or NITS with implemented HDR), you are not gonna be able to see the full beauty of what the developer intented the game to look like. After going through the initial set-up, i popped in RDR2 for my Xbox One X, and HOLY HE11 MY JAW WAS ON MY BED!!! It looks absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! I did turn off the FAKE HDR (fake HDR meaning RDR2 uses fake HDR, which RockStar is working on a Fix) within my Xbox dashboard, turned the game on full brightness in the games settings, bumped up the Backlight and Contrast to High within the TV, implimented high contrast, set Brightness to -1, set color to 30, and then implimented Custom "Auto Motion Plus", i put Motion blur on 8, and jitter reduction on 6, and HOLY MOLLY!!! RDR2 went from looking somewhat choppy on my previous 65" LGHU8500, to looking as if it was running at 60fps on my 75inch Samsung, NO JOKE!!! There was no motion blur what-so-ever while looking around or turning my characters head quickly, riding my horse, ect, it's SMOOTH AS BUTTER!!! There is only ONE TINY drawback using Auto Motion Plus though, you do get screen-tearing every now and then, but it happens so infrequently that it is not anything that will effect your experience or take you out of the immersion of the game. With Auto Motion Plus you are getting a game like RDR2 (example) looking like it's running at 60fps running in native 4K, it's INSANE!!! Gaming on this TV as far as input lag is AMAZING!!! At 1080p games that run at 60fps the input lag is ONLY 6.6ms! Games at 1440p input lag is 9ms, and games at 4k 30fps the input lag is 13-15ms, all these number are INCREDIBLE as you can be sure that once you touch the button on your controller your character ain't waisting NO TIME doing what you tell him/her to do! In the case of Auto Motion Plus, when implimented lag does go up to 20ms, but that is still GREAT, as anything between 21-30 is consideres very good and 20ms and under is great. Many Tv's being sold these days are around 20-40ms input lag. This is another reason why i chose this TV, it has been given some of the highest praise for gaming from professional reviews like "4K.com" and "RTINGS", saying the Q6FN even slightly beats out it's bigger brother the Q7FN in this department. As far as movies, i have only watched 1 since purchasing this TV a few days back, it was of BluRay quality and looked STELLER!!! Colors were on point, and for being an edgelite display the blacks are VERY VERY good on this TV, me and my wife were watching the movie in a pich black room and the black bars were blacker then the room itself, very impressive blacks here, and i am very picky with my black levels! I cannot yet comment on HDR content, as i have been busy with 1 game and have only watched 1 non-HDR movie. I can say from all the professional reviews i have read, HDR is great on this, for gaming and Movie's alike. I also base thisbon what this TV can do brightness wise, the NITS (the rated Brightness levels for HDR) are at or around 1000 on this TV. In August Samsung released a firmware update for this TV that bumped up the brightness even more (so they maybe higher now), this update can be downloaded straight to the TV aslong as you have you this TV connected to tour WIFI. Speaking of UPDATES, when you get this TV you will need to go to "Check for Updates" in the settings menu, their is an update for this TV to be downloaded out of box, the update should read 1153 after downloading it. As far as standard HD channels that broadcast in 1080i(which is like 100% of them! lol), they look GREAT!!! You can see each individual peace of hair on peoles faces, ect, and colors once again are on point. Very happy with the picture quality of this set, and if I'm happy I'm sure you will be too, as i have bad OCD when it come to the quality of the picture. The picture setting are very generous on this set, and not only do you have just picture settings, this TV has it's own Video Game calibration settings in Game Mode, which i have not seen ever on a TV before. With that said, i am EXTREMELY happy i went with this set, all that's left to do is get to Best Buy and get the $300 5 yr warranty plan before my 30 days run out. My $2000 LG that i purchased from Best Buy in 2016 crapped out on me in less then 2 years and at the time i was being too cheap to spend extra on a warranty! O'NO, NOT THIS TIME!!! I will update this review once i get to spend more time with this set, which i cannot wait to do! Pictures posted below were taken straight from my phone pointed directly at the screen. Images are of RDR2 XBOX ONE X. :)

My 75" Q6F 4K UHD TV did blow me away with it superb qlarity, almost too-much color, and of course excellent resolution. This TV at current prices is likely a Best of the Best Buys. Everything you want is in this TV. It's easy to use with the simple, smart remote. This TV is ready for UHD 4K now being available at an increasing rate. All the top features are Five Stars! The only thing I am still getting used to is the huge difference from regular LED TV's whether 4K or just HD. The Q6F series produces much richer colors than I was used too so I had to play around with settings to tone it down a bit to not overwhelm me with the feeling of too much color. In 4K video like on Planet Earth II, the resolution really shines. I could see more slight variations in color hue than I have ever seen before on any TV. I recommend this TV for those with 4K content to make use of its great 4K capability. It's cost is at a good point so you can buy it now and use it for the common HD content and be ready for more 4K UHD in the future. Go Buy and Enjoy!

Couldn't be more pleased with this TV. Beautiful picture and at a reasonable price. Far better than the LG super UHD 75" TV that I had but let go with the sale of my house. I will say that the LG had a better controller as far as performing searches (text selection), but that advantage pales into insignificance when picture color, brightness, and clarity are compared - no contest! I would buy this TV again in a heartbeat.

I was contemplating between 8 series vs Q6FN and ended up buying Q6FN. Picture quality is perfect and I can't be more happier with my purchase. Sound quality is also better than older versions, though I would love to buy good pair of speakers in the future. 10 on 10 for QLED series.

Between the two models of non-QLED Samsung 75” TVs I didn’t see too too much of a difference and there was about a $500 difference between them. But... between the non-QLED and Q6 QLED tv there was a massive massive difference in color, brightness, picture quality etc. and then between the Q6 - Q9 very minor differences for thousands more. This tv is phenomenal in all aspects. Smart features, apps, picture this is the best bang for the buck compared to all brands with the 120hz refresh rate HDR QLED people are in awe when they see the tv on in the living room. It looks great in the store but in your living room it look amazing!! To top it off it’s extremely easy to mount. Heads up you need 4 45mm M8 bolts to mount it and Home Depot carries them for 2 bucks per pack of 2!!

Awesome big screen....from the moment they installed it and turned it on I loved it. The pictures the sound the programming the hook ups all was a breeze, Connection to direct Tv all vent super easy....it’s been a month and I can’t say anything negative about it....sure if you are a Ticky-tacky person you can pick anything a part but I’m an easy going person so I look thinks “ in whole “ and not try to pick on things that don’t bother me. It’s all working and looking as good as can....but of course I’m not a techie person and to me it’s “ SUPERB “ This 75” is only my second Samsung tv but I have no negative things to say about it. LOVE IT

Although this is not a late late model, I'd dare say Samsung out did themselves with technology when it comes to tv's. This set is easy to navigate thru when doing the set up, and even after that. Clear crisp picture, awesome sound, and not bulky at all. And if your programming provider offers HD in their platform (almost all do), get ready for probably the best definition you have ever seen in a tv. Guaranteed enjoyment!!

I unboxed the TV, attached the legs (so easy), set it on the stand and turned it on. It found my network and within 2 or 3 minutes max I was watching a perfect 4k picture. I've owned other 4k sets that required some tweaking after initial setup. Not this one. Maybe a hardcore videophile would find something to adjust. Not me. The Bixby voice app seems more gimmicky than expected, but perhaps I'm too early in the learning curve to appreciate it. Either way, it doesn't diminish my happiness with this TV.

I reviewed many tv’s before buying. This one I got a super deal during the Black Friday event. I bought it the week before Black Friday. It was a good thing because they were sold out the next weekend. Shortcuts make it easy to select the app you are looking for. Picture is clear, but you can see some glare. Optimizing the picture conditions help clear some of this up.

oled tvs are great but they are just too expensive. if money is not a problem, you should get an oled. but if you want excellent tv at a reasonable price get a Q6 or Q7 QLED. no burn in, excellent blacks, superb picture quality and really fast. oled still has the best blacks but the money you save on buying a qled can go to a decent home theatre sound system.

We're absolutely in love with the Samsung Q6 UHDTV. The picture quality on the TV is stunning on whatever you watch or play. Fits perfectly with the size of our livingroom. Had to purchase a soundbar to get the best surround sounds for this TV. By far, the best purchase decision we've made.

This TV is awesome! Anything 75inches or smaller is obsolete in 2019. I had no choice but to step it up. Samsung knows how to push buttons on us consumers and they hit mine. QLED is far superior to OLED. Why you ask? No burn in. Plasma had the same issues. Beautiful picture quality, but burn in, no thanks! QLED or nothing.

I did a lot of research to decide between a Sony and a Samsung. Since Panasonic stopped making plasma tv's, I've purchased Sony sets and was always very satisfied. But after much research and speaking to a sales associate, I chose the Samsung QLED and I'm glad I did. With a few tweaks in the "Natural" picture setting, I had a great picture right out of the box. And I'm very fussy about having a natural, life-like picture. I highly recommend the Q6F and must say that I don't understand the negative reviews found online. The colors are robust and the picture is sharp with no motion blur. I use a soundbar so I can't comment on the audio but other reviews will help you. To summarize, you won't be disappointed with the Samsung Q6F.

Superlatives don't do the picture quality justice. I know Samsung has discontinued this line/model, but the QLED line is one incredible picture and any model with that technology is worth the price. Super easy setup, no problems with normal operation and even video games have better picture now.
