Great TV out of the box, but incredible after Geek Squad professional calibration. Blacks not 100% OLED perfect, but the processor and brightness of this Q90R more than compensate for bit of shortness of true black, which is only slightly noticeable in a totally dark room. I have never had a TV professionally calibrated, and this TV after calibration is incredible. After calibration, blacks blacker and noise free, whites uncrushed, blue was much truer, and red was more natural without oversaturation. Cool things is they also give you 2 additional picture preset from the original 4. One for Calibration-day and Calibration-night for a total of 6 presets. I haven't stopped using Cal-day since calibrated on every source.
I'm not a gamer, so those stats don't affect me. My sources are DISH - looks very good dependent on channel broadcast quality, Samsung 4K Bluray - Incredible even with 1080p Blurys, TV built in apps - excellent especially in HDR. Always remember junky compressed signal in = less quality video output. I gave it 5 star across the board price unconditional, but even better value because this unit was drastically marked down.

I definitely made the right decision. I’ve always had a great experience with Samsung. This is my 3rd. I had a 42”, 55”, and now this. Coming from a 55 inch, this is a whole new experience. Absolutely loving it so far! The sound from the TV itself is rich and full. Now to the most important part... the picture quality. The blacks on this will rival any OLED, and are 99.9 % the same as the C9. Difference being, this is more colorful and vibrant. I’m a happy camper!

I love this tv. The tuner is fast, the apps are fast and easy to use, the picture is great and the viewing angle is perfect. Add a Bose sound bar and it’s a win! Plus I got double points which brought the sound bar to free.

Was originally looking to get an 85" q70. Went to the store to check it out in person and ended up coming home with a 75" q90. In the store the q70 had a decent amount of reflections and the deep black was not even close to the q80/q90. Yeah I lost 10 inches but the quality is a lot better, along with what I wanted to do (hang it on a wall). Yes it is not as nice as an Oled tv but in a family room with kids, I don't have to worry about burn in. As far as getting the tv as flat as possible to the wall, I would say this and the LG W7 I think are the only ones capable of being flat against the wall at this time. I wanted function over form but in a rare case got both here. A lot of people hang tvs on the wall for aesthetics, I did it so the kids don't touch it/knock it over. The one connect cable came with one bad end. Thought to myself oh no here we go. The fun will begin dealing with customer support and all that jazz you read about online. To my surprise, one phone call to Samsung customer support and I was told I would get a new cable within a week. Got it in 2 days! The tv has been great ever since, no issues. Only real competition to it is the new lg Oleds (b9,c9,w9) and some high end Sony fald leds like the (940d) from years prior. As well as the Samsung Q9FN from last year. I am not going into technical details as they all have their pros and cons. I dont know if this review will help anyone decide per say, but thought I would share my experience/reasons. Thanks for reading and good luck!

The best of the best LCD television. Awesome black levels and great brightness make for an amazing picture, especially with 4k HDR content. 98% of the picture quality of an OLED without any of the worries. If you can snag one before they’re gone, do it. You won’t regret it.

Folks, I’ve always bought less expensive TVs and found myself replacing them every two years and sometimes even less. I made a leap to this tv and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. If you can afford it and like me chose cheaper TVs and not be totally satisfied do yourself a favor and get this tv or any Samsung tv for that matter. I finally did and am kicking myself for not doing it sooner!!

I own the 75KS9000 and 75Q90 both the best 4k QLED but this lower model 65Q70 does not disappoint. I have it setup in the master bedroom which does not get alot of light (which helps) the picture and detail is awesome. Samsung has much improved this series of QLED than the last 3 years. Pick this up if you can, there is not many left.

I have owned this TV for about a month and I am enjoying it. My previous TV was a Samsung Plasma that was top of the line at the time similar to what this TV is in their lineup now. The plasma was starting to go and I had huge issues, like most people did, with the famous Games of Throwns 'dark' episode in the last season. So when I saw what this TV had to offer I decided to finally pull the trigger.
This TV was also a step up in size going from a 62" to the 75".
What I like/love:
-Nice design in terms of looks. Looks way better 'off' than the plasma with minimalist design, small bezel, nice stand, black screen. The plasma was showing its age with a dark greyish looking screen, couple inch bezel, etc.
-The anti-reflecting coating is amazing! I could see some reflections in the plasma and I can't see any of the same reflections in this TV. I get a touch from a room light but otherwise it is inky black and I have to almost put my eyes out of focus to try and find a reflection.
-Off angle is very good. I put off getting a new TV due to problems with off angle viewing on everything outside of OLED. For the most part we sit straight on but we do have some off angle seating. This TV is about as good as the plasma was with off angle.
-One Connect - Being able to connect everything in a cabinet instead of behind the TV is nice. I was able to make the tangled mess of cables much neater and keep the ugly cables out of sight.
-Black levels - coming from a old plasma I could see the difference in black levels.
- Brightness - We have a large front window on one side and a sliding patio door to the right. There is also 2 skylights in the room and I have had no issues with light. Direct sunlight can give it a slightly odd rainbow-like refection at times from a setting sun coming in the window. This is not a big issue unless there is direct, angled sunlight on it ALL the time. Overall, equally as good if not better than what our plasma was on a bright day.
-Size - Bigger is better with good source material. If you are sitting close and the source is mediocre the picture may not be great but still good.
-Apps - I sold my old Roku since it didn't output 4k. I have not needed to buy a new one since this TV has apps like Netflix and HBO built in. The apps are way faster than my Roku was with the preview videos embedded within Netflix loading almost instantly. My old Roku would take almost 10 secs at times. Also, with Apple TV app included anything that is not available can be mirrored from a iPad or iPhone. I found this worked surprisingly well.
Issues/Problems/Annoyances
- The picture definitely depends on the source. Regular HD tv from FIOS can look very good to good depending on the channel. The biggest improvement I was able to get with Fios was to go from one of their older DVR boxes to their new Fios One boxes. When I first got the TV I almost questioned if it was too big since cable TV almost looked worse at times. We sit maybe 10-12 ft away and it didn't look that great unless you were another 2-3 feet back. Once we got the new box I was much happier and don't notice it being a issue as much. The new box will output at higher resolution which made a noticeable difference in picture quality. It is not 4k, but definitely a difference since it is now up-scaling better making the picture more sharp.
-I am not sure that I am dialed in on the picture setting yet. I have used some of the settings suggested online and it does look really good for the most part but things like skin color can be a little off at times...at leas to me. This mostly depends again on the source and channel. Someone sitting in studio lighting can look a little overexposed where on a something like a baseball field skin tones look perfect. Maybe it is just that it is really picking up the more true life color differences due to lighting and not just leveling everything the 'same'. Overall, it is really minor and probably just me or maybe still getting the picture adjusted properly.
-I have issues with 'lip sync' between the TV, Fios, and soundbar. I solved the problem by using the 'secret' Fios menu to turn off some of the sound processing but ended up losing the Dolby sound. Supposedly Dolby is more compressed but when it was on the sound was slightly fuller. I had this issue with both Fios boxes and I am not sure where the issue lies but I didn't have the issue with the plasma.
-Even though the TV is much better than most out there, there is still some issue with motion and artifacts in dark scenes. I do not have any motion handling turned on since I do not like the soap opera effect. I would say it is about on par or slightly better than the plasma in how it handles motion but I think it still could be better. The dark scenes have been better than the old plasma, definitely less 'blocky' and 'fuzzy' than the plasma was. Again, depends on the source too.
-Lack of 4k material really limits this TV. The majority of TV we watch is regular HD cable TV and with everything I did above the picture is very good. I have watched a couple things in 4k but haven't watched enough to fully appreciate what it can do. From what I have seen in 4k it does look great. While everything looks good, and at times better than the plasma did, I can't say that it is giant steps forward in picture unless you are watching something outside of just HD TV. If you are coming from a previous TV that wasn't 'high end' you will probably see a big difference.
So overall, I am very happy with the purchase. It is a great preforming TV and some of the things I mentioned above is me being picky. I think pro calibration would be a good idea but I am not sure I am that far off to make it worth it or if it will just give me piece of mind that everything is adjusted as perfect as it could be. It would be nice if there was more 4k content but at least I am setup for the future.
So I would definitely recommend this TV since there is no perfect TV out there but this is one of the best TVs that exist right now. There are plenty of other professional reviewers that will attest to this as well. So do your research and if you can go take a look at it in person.

Bought this excellent picture quality at a discount price before the new models came out. I have bought Samsung my last 4 TV’s and this one does meets all expectations. Easy to set up, super easy One Connect box makes hooking up all accessories an easy task. TV runs you through set up of internet connection, services, DVD, sound bar etc. only a few changes to the default settings made the picture really pop. Super happy with the selection, picture quality, service, and price. Thanks again.

I absolutely love this thing. I had been waiting for it for nearly 6 months after briefly having the previous model(Q8) at my disposal. Having initially looked at a cheaper LG model before looking into the Q series televisions, i am glad i waited and did the research. My specs were based for gaming, and even the last model stood eager to the task. That said, this one blows the Q8 out of the water. The brightness and vibrancy are unparalleled, bringing the most out of the concept of “so realistic its unrealistic.” The color red will be reinvented and defined as you experience it for yourself, and you may actually feel the notion to wear sunglasses sometimes. Until you see it for yourself, you wont truly understand. Pair it with a dolby atmos system and run some HDR compatible media, and youll be ungrateful about every other electronic device you own, it truly is the next stage of visual media tech, and even at full retail price is worth every penny. 1-2-3 setup, ARC compatibility, cast compatibility, very digital media friendly, very gamer friendly, very jaw-drop friendly.

I bought this TV unseen going strictly by the reviews from other buyers and I am not disappointed one bit. This TV lives up to all my expectations in what a great TV should be. The color is fantastic and is great in my family room that has windows surrounding on three sides. It was easy to set up and the one box connect makes it a breeze to get all my other gadgets connected. Love all the smart apps that come with this TV. This TV replaced a LG OLED tv that I experienced burn in. In my opinion after having both, this is an overall better TV, Buy with confidence, you will not be disappointed.

I went through two other televisions before finally settling on this one. Best Buy was extremely accommodating in exchanging to ultimately assist me in landing on this television set. I went through two other supposedly very nice 65 inch TVs but wasn’t satisfied.
The first was another LED unit from the main competitor for Samsung and found there to be a lot of blooming.
The second set was actually the number one top of the line OLED set. The picture on the second television was very good. But the sound was extremely lacking. I was convinced in the store by one of the sales people that rather than switch rate to the Samsung Q 90 65 inch, I should stay in the same line and try their OLED . I went for the top end unit. Supposedly the best television available. It had an interesting feature of sound being incorporated into and coming from the screen. Was told that it was so good in this department that it could replace a center channel in an audio system. This was absolutely not the case. Vocal quality from this top end 0LED was terrible at low volume and almost inaudible. At high-volume it was still hollow and unnatural.
So I called up Best Buy and said that I would like to go to the 65 inch Q 90 that I initially wanted to switch to. They noticed that it was only 200 more to upgrade to the 75 inch because the 75 was on a very aggressive sale and I decided that was a no brainer. Great decision.
The picture on the Q 90 is 99.999% every bit as good as the OLED but much more brilliant. The difference in brightness is very apparent and the colors are just more vibrant. Watching 4K content is stunning, and upscaling even from old pre-HD format is very impressive. Samsung knocked it out of the park with this set.
Because of the savings on the television and the fact that the design allowed space for a serious sound bar underneath the set even with it on its stand I decided to splurge and get the Q 90 r sound bar system to go along with it. Another great decision. Fantastic sound. Amazing at both low and high volume. The true Dolby Atmos system really shines. The partnership with HK is apparent on this sound system. I thought I would just use it for movies and higher volume play but I have not used the Base televisions speakers (which, mind you are way better than the gimmicky screen/speaker the competition brags about) once since trying it out.
Don’t hesitate to buy this set or the matching sound bar.

Purchased the 75" Q90R. Replaced a 65" JS8500. The center base is very solid, and better from a space use perspective than the legs which stand on the outer ends of some other Samsung models. The color was excellent, and vibrant, and there is no lack of brightness. There is little banding due to the backlight arrangement for the Q90. As some reviewers have mentioned, there can be a halo around white lettering when shown against a black background, such as subtitles. There are numerous adjustments available for the picture, but actually not as many as with some prior models, such as the JS8500. One example is motion blur. There is auto, LED Clear Motion, and custom. The LED clear motion darkens the screen, and causes flicker. The auto setting creates substantial soap opera effect, so one is left with turning it off, or using custom. On Off, the motion control is actually good, as it appears that function uses blur reduction, but no judder, so no soap opera. Using custom can allow for max blur reduction, with just small adjustments to judder. Overall, a setting can be had which provides good motion handling. The increase in viewing at an angle is much better with little degrading of the color to a picture. The WIFI connection was easy to set up and very strong. Out of the box, the setting are on mostly auto, with the color setting around 25. You will probably have to play around with the various settings to get the picture the way you want it. The HDR automatically adjusts to the signal, and works well. For more vibrant colors, I set the overall color to Native, but that is personal preference. On that setting the TV handles the color balance well. There are not as many available settings to play around with for things like skin tone, and the various color, tint, brightness, and sharpness setting are on a 0-50 scale rather than a 0-100. Overall, the TV performs quite well and provides a very sharp picture.

This was the first time ever that I have spent over $1500 on a TV; too spoiled now, it won't be the last. I had always been of the mindset of good enough when TV shopping. Now, I am a believer in you get what you pay for.
The picture is fabulous. The user interface is exactly I (and my wife) was looking for. The connection box being away from the TV is brilliant! It really should become the industry standard.
