Customers are pleased with the BD-J6300's picture quality, ease of use, and 4K upscaling capabilities. However, some users find the remote control and button placement less than ideal.

It took me less than three or four minutes to install. Once installed, very easy to follow onscreen instructions and when done, easy access with just one remote.

Plays discs asequatedly. The layout of controls on the remote control is both confusing and illogical. The reverse scene-change and fast-forward are together on the left-hand side of the remote and the forward scene-change and reverse fast-forward are on the right-hand side. In addition the remote lacks the step feature which my previous Samsung DVD player had, as well as the ability to have a variety of speeds both forward and reverse.

I purchased the Samsung - BD-J6300 - Streaming 4K Upscaling 3D Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player from Best Buy to replace an older player. The BD-J6300 is smaller, lighter, and its' Blu-ray - DVD player out-performs its predecessor, probably because of the BD-J6300's 4K upscaling. Although I do nearly all of my streaming directly to my TV via ROKU, I tried out the streaming capabilities of the BD-J6300 and found them to work as well as advertised.
One factor that you should be aware of about the BD-J6300 is that although it up scales to 4K, it will NOT play 4K DVDs. Since I already have an extensive DVD-Blu-ray disc collection, and I stream movies and other videos from Netflix and other services, I was willing to pay $100 for the BD-J6300 and save about $200 over the price of a 4K disc-playing device. With this caveat in mind, the BD-J6300 is an excellent buy.

The upscaling of blu ray to near 4K is good. Picture quality is notably better. I was looking for a 4K player and purchased this by mistake. I saw 4K and missed the upscale part on the box. Plus the sales associate pointed this player out when I told him I wanted a 4K player. Over all-happy with it's performance.

Awesome Blu-ray player

I bought this Blu-ray player to replace a 7 year old Samsung Blu-ray player that was one of the earliest generation players. I also wanted a WiFi connection instead of the wired Ethernet on my old box. One of my chief complaints about the old box was that it was very slow to react to control panel or remote button pushes. I could tap the "drawer open" button and then wait almost a minute before it decided to open the drawer. Then when I closed the drawer, it took up to a few minutes to explore and then play the Blu-ray disc. This new BD-J6300 performs those same operations immediately. Touch the open button and the drawer opens right then. Insert a disc and it plays within seconds. That alone was worth the money for the new unit. I don't have a 4K TV so I was not concerned about the 4K up-scaling versus actually playing 4K discs (this unit does not play 4K discs), but the same circuitry that allows it to upscale Blu-ray HD to 4K resolution also does a great job of up-scaling DVD standard definition to HD quality. That allowed me to replace both my older Blu-ray and a dedicated DVD player with one new unit. The older Blu-rays do not have a vested interest in making DVD's look good and the old Samsung simply ported standard def signaling to an HDMI cable. So I always maintained an up-scaling DVD player for my DVD collection. Fewer boxes to do the same job is a good thing.
It should also be noted that this is one of the last Blu-ray players that still has controls on the box and a front display that shows a play counter. Being fairly old school myself, I like displays. Other models have no controls and no lights at all making it somewhat of a guessing game on what the box is doing.
My only minor complaint is that the Hulu app built-in to the unit does not use the entire TV screen for some odd reason and it leaves a one inch black margin around the picture. That's not even a valid video resolution and must be something like 990p instead of 1080p. I can't imagine what possessed Hulu to do that. But I use a Roku box for streaming so no biggie.
All in all I love this player and consider it one of the best investments I've made in a long time. If I could justify buying one for every room with a TV I would, but new equipment generates still working hand-me-downs, so less used TV locations get the hand-me-downs.
I highly recommend the BD-J6300 player.

This unit offers solid performance and reliability. It relies a bit too much on the anticipated user's bonding with the remote control (i.e., there should be more control features on the unit itself). It is relatively user-friendly.

This camera was a gift for my mother who needs a point and shoot. She was able to operate the features very easily and took beautiful pictures. The 40 optical zoom in such a small camera was key to her ability to take the camera in her purse for family functions and take closeups at the kids programs from the audience. Very pleased with the quality and ease of use. Price was very good given the features when compared to lesser cameras of the same look.

After having two Sony Blu-Ray players die over a period of 2 years, I decided it was time to change brands. Fortunately, I had the extended warranty coverage, so I was able to replace the Sony at a very low cost (the difference between the Sony cost and the Samsung). Kudos to Best Buy for making the exchange painless. The Samsung was easy to set up and the available apps all work well. The processor seems faster than the Sony and the sound on my Bose system sounds superior. The quality of the video on DVDs, Blu-Ray and apps is outstanding and the streaming was excellent with no glitches or buffering.

I bought my Samsung Blu-ray player for under $100. and use it on a 40-in non-4k tv, but the picture and movie streaming upgrade turns it into 4k quality also CDs. the pictures are beautiful, and I love the built-in WiFi. It turns the tv into a big computer monitor. I answer emails, stream my radio channels, and watch 1000s movies all free. just download the apps using the remote, without using any of the pay sites.Netfix,Hula, etc.

This is a great Blu-Ray Player for the price. I realize that products are ever evolving but for the price range so far this player has performed flawlessly. It is an easy set-up and easy to understand. It is a nice addition to my home theater. I stream more than I use disc and so far I have not had any waiting or freezing.

Great Multi-Feature Blu-Ray Player

This Blu-Ray Player has it all, and the price of only $99 is fantastic! The sound and picture quality that I get on my HD non- 4K Smart TV from this streaming 4K Upscaling 3D Player is significantly improved. I really have to lower the volume on my TV when I use this, because it fills my entire 1,700 sq foot apartment with such rich, multi-dimensional, bass-booming, enhanced sound. The picture on my HDTV is already very good, but I noticed even crisper, sharper, improved imagery. I have not used the 3D movie function of this Player, but I know that my 12 yr old son will sneak it off to his bedroom and try it out before long, and I’m sure he’ll be raving about it, and I’ll never get it back! An additional bonus with buying this unit is that when I purchase a 4K UHD TV soon, I don’t have to replace my Blu-Ray Player. I highly recommend this product, for its value, quality, and adaptability.

I bought this knowing it was not a 4k but, an up scaling 4k player. I am using it in my bedroom with a Samsung 4k TV and all I can say is FANTASTIC!! The picture is very crisp, clean and clear. I know some will say it's not the best you can get, guess what, It is in my bedroom and looks just perfect. I am completely happy.

Very satisfied with purchase, unit and menus are fast and there is a huge amount of apps available, even has a web browser. Easy to use Front display easy to read, and onscreen menud and easy to setup and use. Samsung really makes nice stuff. As far as picture quality looks great on a Samsung 1080p TV, audio is great and the remote is easy to use and comfortable in hand as has small dots and some glow in the dark buttons for night use, anther plus. I wasn't sure how I felt about the touch sesitive buttons on the top of the units but they work great . Overall i'd highly reccomend, cant comment on the 4k up-scaling as I only have 1080p

This is a decent BluRay player for most anyone. its easy to use, has the basic buttons on the top right hand corner, which are not easily accessible if you put the player in a tv stand with other components. so, you must use the remote. The remote is pretty basic, yet functional. If used with a Samsung TV, you dont need the remote at all.
i played back some content to see what it would like on a HD 4k Samsung TV to check if the scaling worked. it was very nice quality. however, since there is a scaler in the TV also, i am not sure which one was doing the work on the dvd content.
Either way, for around $100, it is a good buy and the online content is easily accessible and makes any TV a "smart" TV without significant cost.
