Customers regard the CHG9 Series monitor's large screen size and curved display as impressive and well-suited for gaming and multitasking. Many appreciate the monitor's quality and ease of use, although some find the resolution and lack of built-in speakers to be shortcomings. The weight and stand design also received mixed feedback. Overall, the monitor is praised for its immersive gaming experience and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

I purchased this for my home office. I don't game much anymore and haven't tried this monitor for this yet. Though, my teenage son is drooling over the opportunity! I've been using the monitor now for about a month and the experience has been wonderful
I work with a lot of large spreadsheets consisting of a lot of columns. Excel is AMAZING with a monitor this wide. I also do a lot of multitasking and keep a lot of applications open throughout the day. I am able to see a lot of things going on at once when I don't have the screen filled with a spreadsheet.
I would recommend getting a good monitor arm. First, you must have a pretty deep desk as the monitor legs will take up quite a bit of desk space. Because the monitor is large and 1080 resolution, your font is not small, which allows you to push the monitor back a good way and still be able to see it well. A monitor arm will give you much more space and allows the monitor to hoover over the desk.
I put a lot of research into finding an arm strong enough to hold up a monitor that weighs nearly 30 pounds without the stand. I was able to purchase the Loctek D7L Heavy-duty Monitor Arm. It is rated up to 33 pounds and does a good job of keeping this monitor supported. It was the cheapest monitor arm I could find that would support the weight.
I find the monitor to be a premium device. Some argue that a higher resolution would be better. However, I still prefer the 1080 resolution for work productivity so that I am not straining my eyes looking at small text all day. The text isn't huge either...it's just right in my opinion.
This monitor is simply impressive. It makes time spent at the computer very enjoyable....especially if you like to multitask.

I am a website developer so I have (had) a lot of monitors on my desk. But this new Samsung monitor allowed me to get rid of 3 monitors and just use this one in their place - less wires.
At first I was hesitant to buy this huge monitor because of the price but I gotta say, I have NO REGRETS! I absolutely LOVE working again. I can hold 4 different websites on the screen at once on this big monitor and then I use my small monitor to do my website edits. I highly recommend this product!!!!

Full disclosure, I just got this monitor today and have used only for a few hours, but I’m already in love with it.
Unlike most of the reviews, I purchased this monitor for work purposes (as opposed to gaming). I’m a software engineer and since I work from home, I wanted something equally functional and aesthetically pleasing. This monitor definitely delivers on both fronts.
I primarily work on a 2019 MacBook Pro 13” and this monitor worked right out of the box. Initially the text was quite large, but after going to the Display settings on the MacBook and scaling it down I was easily able to get the resolution and real estate I was used to with my former dual monitor setup. I couldn’t find much information on compatibility, so hopefully this eases concerns for fellow Mac users that are interested in an ultrawide for non-gaming purposes.
Also, it should be noted that the monitor itself without the stand is around 26lbs, so if you’re looking to get a monitor arm your options are a bit limited in the $250 below range. I purchased the AVLT-DM40-1 (rated up to 33lbs) for about $140 and it is holding up nicely.
All in all this is an enormous upgrade over my previous setup and I’m extremely happy.

This is my first curved monitor. I used this with a HP pavilion laptop. It seems that the laptop can not go as wide in the settings to display it correctly. It will display in zoomed mode only. I tested this on a Nintendo switch and was surprised that it was able to fit the screen automatically. However it did have a foggy image to it. No to bad at all so it’s not going to be to much of a distraction. But if your looking for image Quality you will find it and be annoyed by it.
I have yet to test this on my new pc so this image thing might be caused by the Nintendo switch itself. It’s unclear right now as my ox is not here yet. I like it but the only few things that really just tick me off about it is the cords there’s to many cords this comes with. I have them all plugged in to the monitor but there not in use. Only the power and the speaker port are being used right now. Anyway the cherry that makes me hate it is the was the ports were made. Unless you plug everything your going to plug into it straight out of the box your going to find yourself in frustration when you want to plug more stuff in later as the plugs are upside down under the screen. And the cord arrangement needs to be reopened to store your newly added cords. It comes with a small mounting plate but I wouldn’t mount this on the wall at all. At this price anyway. It would of been nice if it came with a installed camera but I like that it didn’t in the end. I added my own. I tried using a yeti mic on this screen nothing happen. My mix never detected it was plugged into anything and obs didn’t detect it as well. So for further testing I’m waiting on my ox to get here. It does have a few marks on the screen but are not very noticeable unless your really looking for these. It should have a light in the back but I can never see that while using it so I won’t be reviewing that at all here. The stand kinda takes most of the space under the screen. I think they need to design a newer stand for it but it is solid for now. As long as you don’t move it a lot I think it should be fine. Other than that I would say keep your box. If you move you’ll need a box that fits this.

I LOVE this monitor! I purchased two of these for our home office that hubby and I share. When I hook up my laptop to it I have the potential of using the equivalent of four monitors...what! My productivity has increased tremendously. And when I really want to focus on something (especially creative designs) I can scale my windows to be larger and still have two monitors.
I highly recommend these if you have the space. I was worried at first that it would be too large but that fear went away as soon as I sat in front of it to work. I know it is designed for gaming and I do not game but it definitely has upscale my home office.

I love this monitor. I tried 3 27" msi's to game on and it got old. Too wide and the bezels between the screen was ok. I then went to a 32" 1440p monitor. It is and still is fantastic, but i wanted something more to emerge inside my games. This monitor is great! It is 1080p, but it doesn't take as much to put the fps. I have a 2080 super can i get around 130 fps. Not all games support it, but a lot do. Destiny 2, Hitman, Avengers, Far Cry 5. The settings are easy to navigate too with the little thumb stick on the bottom.

It’s a fantastic gaming monitor. The large 49” super wide curved screen gives you a sense of being totally emerged while gaming. I have my monitor mounted on a Loctek Heavy Duty mount to give me a better ergonomic eye-level while gaming so I’m not super close to the monitor and adds additional desk space. Overall, it’s a great gaming monitor.

I’ve been eyeing on this earlier this year. Pulled the trigger 3 months later after an extensive research and comparison of different brands. You can connect 2 video sources for 60hz each or just a single one for 120hz.
Theough it is expensive, I am very satisfied with this purchase and have been using the ultrawide view and acreen/window partitioning.

I like the monitor, in fact I bought two and mounted them in a stackable configuration. However, The screen resolution is an issue with my Microsoft Surface Pro 5th gen, but not issue with a 2015 MacBook Pro. I had to purchase the latest docking station, for my Surface, in order to even get the display to work. I'm not sure how to get the audio to work on the monitors also. Overall, I'm happy with these monitors.

I have been enjoying my Samsung - CHG9 Series C49HG90DMN 49" HDR LED Curved FHD FreeSync Monitor (DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort, HDMI, USB) - Matte dark blue black. It looks great in my studio and there is a lot of real estate work on. I use this monitor to produce and write score music. I was looking for an Apple monitor to use with my Mac. The monitors are over priced and they don’t have the real estate I need. I would have to buy at least three monitors to do what this single monitor can do.

Excellent monitor! I have loved the ability of using two inputs on one screen! It is a bit heavy but not unexpectedly for a monitor this size. One minor con though is because the inputs are located underneath on the back, they are a pain to plug things into. Overall though, very happy!

You need a beefy setup to fully utilize this monitor. A rx580 will not cut it with this monitor, so just get a 1080 ti to experience the full, over 100fps on AAA games like battlefield 5. Also, this monitor looks AMAZING for Stardew Valley as you can see almost half of your farm!

Had this monitor for about 9month before it started giving me issues. Random lines started showing up and can’t see any clear image.
Called Samsung customer service and they couldn’t resolve it. They placed a service call but now I have to wait for over a week for parts. They are not offering a replacement even though they know about their issue. They also wont say when if the repairs will be done.
This will probably be the last Samsung item I buy. I bought a fridge and within 2 years the ice maker went out. They wanted to charge $600. Thankfully I found a local repair person who did it for $200.
Samsung’s needs to stop sending out faulty units.

I got this for my sim racing setup. I wanted a wide screen without messing with a triple setup just yet. The quality is spectacular, very easy to use, and is very immersive for racing. Would also work great for work from home situations. I love this thing!

The monitor is awesome for both gaming and work. instead of using multiple monitors the CHG9 becomes my workhorse. the only issue is that you have to download the EasySettingBox to get the snap to window function. Unfortunately for me, it conflicts with some of my work software. All-in-all, simply a great monitor.
