Customers regard the CHG9 Series monitor's large screen size and curved display as impressive and well-suited for gaming and multitasking. Many appreciate the monitor's quality and ease of use, although some find the resolution and lack of built-in speakers to be shortcomings. The weight and stand design also received mixed feedback. Overall, the monitor is praised for its immersive gaming experience and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Unlike many others this was bought for work, not gaming. So the review is a description of the experience from a business perspective. ✅ It's much easier to work with multiple windows than with dual monitors. It's the equivalent of two 24" monitors without the bezel in between. ✅ Very easy to set up and comes with almost every cable you could need to get started right away. ✅ Rotates, pivots, angles, you name it to get the right setup, you can probably do it. ✅ Functions as a USB3 hub. ❌ This thing is HUGE. It arrived in what we originally thought was a coffin. The box was larger than the the one a desk arrived in. (Yes, it's a large monitor. But that's not why. More on this later. ❌ The base - understood why it has to balance out weight (more on this later). But the front wingspan is almost 3 feet wide. That means that even though the rear base is a very slim unit, the front feet will dominate a desktop. This wouldn't be as bad if the monitor were able to extend towards you, but of course... ❌ You've seen regular monitors. They're slim and VERY light. This is not slim and it is not light. The monitor part alone is almost 6 inches thick, then you've got the base connection which is another 4 inches out; so a total of 10 inches roughly of desk depth you'll need and that's just for the monitor. You'll need a minimum 5 inches additional for your keyboard and mouse. Most desks aren't overly deep so you will want to plan for this. You can get a 100x100 mount if you want, but weight will be a challenge if it's not using hydraulic (i.e. expensive). Some of that thickness could have been avoided if they had the USB hub as an optional, external accessory for an alternate model, then cut the price down too. ❌ Side and top bezels are a bit thicker than expected. They could have gone halfway on the bezels; the bottom bezel is nonexistent (or they're effectively hiding it). ❌ To do the whole grid layout that Samsung advertises requires download of additional software. The problem is that this software doesn't work with all apps. Apps that don't work (Outlook 2016 being one) go completely black and won't display until you relaunch that app even if you close out of the Samsung program. Other layouts are unusable on this type of widescreen. We ultimately decided not to use that tool - but if you're displaying two different source inputs (security cam + computer), maybe it makes sense. ❌ The HDMI1 port tended to black screen intermittently. HDMI2 did not have this issue. But for a monitor of this price, neither should be flickering and it's too large to be packing up for coffin return. If Samsung is reading this and you can get someone out here, all for it.

So I had no idea there was this type of monitor out there when I stumbled upon it. The sheer size of this monitor is enough to make a rich guy say isn't that a bit much? It is beautiful for what I bought it to do. That is gaming. This is the area where it shines. AMD Freesync technology works amazing. This monitor is what made me upgrade my video card to a AMD Vega 56. I am a Blizzard fan boy and it runs all of my games almost perfectly. The only game that has an issue is Diablo 3, from time to time the game has a hard rendering all of that real estate I play on. Now if you are hoping that it will play movies, music videos in full screen I have not been able to get that work. The monitor will not give you great quality when it comes to surfing webpages. Same thing with Youtube or any streaming services. But I will be honest I do not use my computer for watching movies or Youtube. I will include some pictures for perspective

This is a good monitor with really cool look and functionality. Few points: 1. It is a low resolution monitor in today's standards. So picture won't look sharp. If ur main usage is productivity, then its low res will probably cause some issues. 2. For gaming, very little games have 32:1 aspect ratio, so you will see ugly stretched image. However, for a game that supports it, it will look low res but astonshing view. It's a good monitor, there is nothing wrong about it. If you game at 1080 resolution and don't use it that much for watching movies, surfing the net or use productivity office tools, then you will definitely like it.

Beautiful Monitor, Faulty Input After 13 Months.

I work from home full time, it's a beautiful monitor and works well if you need multiple windows up at the same time. It's also fun to game on, extremely immersive. This review would be 5 stars but the only full size DisplayPort input failed after only 13 months causing somewhat of a headache because my work laptop only supports DisplayPort output. I'm extremely careful with my electronics and keep them well maintained. Fortunately my personal laptop supports both DisplayPort and HDMI so I was able to swap out some cables and use the MiniDP input for my work computer, but for the price of the monitor the input shouldn't have failed after such a short time.

    SAMSUNG 49" Curved Screen Monitor

This 49" monitor has saved me tremendous amounts of time allowing me the freedom to multitask within the same view, but without the loss of visual continuity. I use a lot of data, examining several files at once, and even play simultaneous videos in duo optical drives, due to the amount of provided support materials for my line of work or in my ongoing projects. The curved features allow me to maximize the field of view without much side-to-side activity. The screen refresh rate is actively keeping me from having a visual burn out and I work longer without optical stress. Samsung has made an excellent product on this monitor. I also other Samsung products and I cannot complain about any of them. They have been wonderful products over the years. I highly recommend this brand.

Great monitor for gaming. I used this for sim racing, so the refresh rate was perfect for it. Additionally, you dont need a crazy GPU to power this. While it is only 1080p, i was able to use a 2070 super to run max settings on iRacing and frame rate was rock solid. I used it for about 4 months but ended up going to triple monitors for sim racing. The only con is the price. While it has been decreasing it is still quite expensive for a 1080p monitor. In my four months of use, I only had one dead pixel and was able to fix it using one of the online dead pixel tools. Within 15 minutes it was back to normal and was otherwise problem free.

It will get a 5-star review from me. I don't have any issues that others claim to have. NOW...FULL DISCLOSURE...THIS MONITOR IS HUGE...no huge isn't the word, it's MASSIVE. It's cool, it has "wow" factor, but I'll say this it's not for everyone. Clearly, as I was able to get this on open box from my local store because...it was returned for being too big. Yeah, it's "only" 1080P, but the refresh rate makes up for it. Also, with 1080ti's in SLI those cards are brought to their knees with the 49" Ultra-wide format. Pros: Big isn't the right word, almost on the side of ridiculous... Good Refresh Rate AMD FreeSync HDR is Good Cons: It's really big... Not all content works for ultrawide formats

I love this monitor. I was hesitant to buy it without seeing one in person first but I’m glad I did. Great for work. Way less eye strain than using two 27” monitors and it’s got way more screen space than the 34”-37” curved monitors, it’s easier to optimize the screen space when you have several programs open compared to dual monitors. I use it for work (land development) and I highly recommend it for people that run several programs at a time (email, auto cad, bluebeam, etc) I also purchased a screen management program for optimizing screen space. It saves a lot of time not having to adjust each program individual to fit the screen. I highly recommend this monitor.

    Really Adds to Productivity

I strictly use Office type programs and do routine online shopping and view news outlets, not into gaming. I thought our resident Dota 2 player would go wild 49" !! apparently not, he said he could not get use to the field of view being so huge, just too dynamic to see everything. But for me, I absolutely love it because it is like having at least two monitors and a frustration free desktop. The resolution is superb and I work faster with it. Nobody was home for the week so I actually had to assemble it (first time in a decade) and it was a snap, great instructions and easy assembly. I think this was a great purchase, and Best Buy tech support is easy to deal with too, although no need to talk about this one! Great value, go ahead and do it, never thought I'd say that about a thousand dollar monitor.

Very pleased overall. Coming from a 28" 4K display to this was slightly jarring at first, but I'm definitely adjusting quickly. This monitor so far(four days) has been a huge improvement in my productivity. Having 2-4 programs open very comfortably all on screen at once has allowed me to be very efficient. Definitely recommend to anyone that's looking to make their screen less of a cluster of programs overlapping each other in order to have them open in a manageable and or legible way. One side note - Not a fan of the HDR on this monitor. Used it for about 40 minutes and turned it back off.

I was wanting to upgrade my home office workstation and need more monitor space. I was using a 27" monitor and my laptop for a 2 screen setup but was needing more workspace. I've been looking into buying to 27" or larger monitors but then this monitor went on sale, which made it cheaper than two 27" monitors and removes additional cabling and a gap or border between 2 screens. The fact that this monitor allows for two separate inputs is great. You can connect a game console and computer and run them simultaneously on the same monitor. Great choice if you have the desktop space and real estate for it.

Amazing Monitor For Gaming and other

The picture is clear, crisp, clean. The size is even more convenient than I expected. I can open multiple programs/websites/games without ever having to cycle through multiple pages - super helpful for image editing programs or even just playing a game while watching a movie side by side. This monitor took the place of a dual setup and I couldn’t be happier. I can even widescreen most of my gaming, allowing me to see more area, with an even better refresh rate than my last monitors. Love the curved screen and its quality. I’d say the biggest downside is that it doesn’t have a remote - not that it’s hard to push a button but I just prefer the easier access of a remote. Very happy with purchase.

I use this monitor for business, not for gaming, and I will never use a smaller monitor again. I’ve had this monitor for 7 months now and I love it! I initially purchased 2 screens to get this size but I didn’t like having to change from screen to screen all the time. Being able to use one screen to see all of the windows that I have open is so much better. I should have bought one a long time ago. Very happy with this purchase!

New, but Oh My Goodness!! I never thought I might have too much monitor space, but maybe? I have this set up as my main monitor, with two 27" monitors. I'm sure I'll get used to it ... I do some light gaming, but use it more for work. I use multiple applications constantly, and hate switching around. My life just got so much easier. And I don't think even I can manage to clutter up this desktop. The price is high, but if you look at it as 2 1/2 or 3 monitors, not so bad.
